Run, don't walk, away from this company…read more About a year ago, we had a bathroom leak that affected a patch of our wood floors in the master bedroom. Johnson Custom Floors assured me that I didn't need to get brand new wood floors for the entire downstairs, we could patch the bedroom, and sand the rest of the bedroom down and stain it. I had some wear on the rest of the downstairs floors, so they said they could do a polyurethane top coat finish on the floors to make them look brand new. We had a few high traffic areas in the kitchen where the stain was coming up-- so, per their idea, they added some stain to the topcoat to blend in. We were told we would need to be out of the house for 5+ days, but they finished very quickly, and we were back in either 3 or 4 days (can't remember). Within 4 days, the top coat started bubbling and flaking off in huge chunks! My floors looked significantly worse than they did before. I immediately contacted the company, who said it "must be because of the added stain" (which was their idea), and they said they'd come out and re-do the top coat. If you've ever had any experience with re-doing floors-- you have to completely move out of your house. So, having to move my entire family out for another several days to a week (at our expense!) was LESS than desirable. Also... my floors were in decent shape before they came, and now they looked 20+ years old. I wanted the job done right the first time. Our baseboards also had a lot of stain/polyurethane on them that I had to hand scrape off myself. The bathroom ended up re-flooding, and this time caused significantly more damage to the floors (we ended up replacing the entire downstairs). We started interviewing other flooring companies, and instantly everyone was pointing out how bad of a patch job Johnson Custom Floors did in the bedroom. They didn't putty over any of the nail holes, so you could see exactly where the patch was. All in all-- very, very sloppy work. They were one of the cheapest companies that I had come out, but at the end of the day, the job wasn't done right, and I had 0 confidence in them to fix their sloppy work and perform a much larger scale job.

We were greeted by Steve, explained what we were looking for and we went home with some carpet samples. Nice & easy! No deposit needed by the way, like at other stores. My husband and I decided on the carpet. We called Steve & he came to our home to take measurements...and about two weeks later our carpet was installed. I am incredibly happy with the thorough, professional and excellent job done by the two carpet installers. they took very good care of the few pieces of furniture that I needed their help moving. They worked straight through, no breaks and finished in about 4-5 hours. They cleaned up, they vacuumed the area and made sure I looked at their work it before they left. The price we paid was very reasonable. It included taking the old carpet with them as well. Every person that I've encountered at the store is very kind, polite and professional. My only critique is I called the store on a Sunday to find out if our carpet had arrived, for installation on Wednesday. The person I spoke to said they would call me back on Monday to confirm. I did not get a call back. So I called on Tuesday to confirm that the carpet would be coming on Wednesday. The reason I wanted to confirm is it's a lot of prep work moving clothes out of closets, furniture and all of our stuff out of the way. And if for some reason the carpet was delayed that would help me with planning. Other than that, it was a great experience and I will definitely go back to this store for future needs. That's when the price of the wood flooring started going up in price. I questioned the older man about the price, because the price quoted in the store was much lower than the invoice price he sent me. He then sent me another invoice with a lower price, but still not the price provided in the store, even when taxes are figured into the amount. Overall, I think they try to sell you based on where you live and if they think you can afford more, then they will stick it to you. They bid one room sized 14x17 for engineered wood for cost of wood and installation of over 4 grand, compared to two others that bid both around 2,200 and 2,400 in costs to install and materials. I would highly suggest you comparison shop when dealing with this business. From the old man, I heard you did not take into consideration sales tax and I also heard - prices are going up, especially shipping. I suggest you do the leg work and get several bids and just not do business with this group. Save yourself the time and money both.......

He stayed in contact with me and fought other contractors pricing. He broke down the charges to show me why his service would be better. He helped me and I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with his help. They did my baseboards, carpet in my upstairs bdrms, tile in my bathrooms and new shower downstairs. They also did laminate throughout the house. It came out beautifully. I had custom tile floors edged with wood in my kitchen. The design was to be laid sideways and the installer decided it wouldnt look right and did it straight. I was available via phone during the install and the installer never asked me or said a word. Wood work was completed that day; however, when i got home i texted sammy and he quickly coordinated another time for the installers 2 come back and fix it. If I had questions or issurs.. Sammy was almost always responsive in a flash. The baseboard and carpet installers were wonderful. Angel was my shower and floor tile installer and he was magnificent. I gave 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 out of 5 stars only because of the stain used on the custom floor in my kitchen. It was my design and I asked the installer if he could match the wood stain 2 the laminate thru the rest of my house. He said it couldn't be done as one was wood and one was laminate and encouraged me to just choose a color I liked. All the while during our conversation, he kept looking back and forth on his cell phone. I mentioned to Sammy and felt he sort of brushed it off... even when the baseboard fellow called 2 tell him it wasn't to my full liking. I had already paid the full service amount and since the whole house remodel took so long, I let it go and refinished the wood in my kitchen myself. I would recommend this company for ur flooring, baseboard or tiling needs.
