The cost of the car was very competitive (and less than some of the other rental car places we also wandered into that day). We had the car for almost a week. Dropoff when we were done was super easy, and their shuttle took us to the airport. There was a charge for the shuttle ($15 per person), but we were told that upfront, so we were prepared for it. That felt very minor compared to the service they provided and the great car at a reasonable price. We filled the tank just down the street before we returned the car, and it was acknowledged as full. I see other reviewers saying they were charged for gas, but that was NOT the case for us. They do require a deposit of (I think) $300, but it was refunded to the card just as they said it would be. We were surprised that just about everything in LA seemed to require a deposit. As long as it got refunded as they promised (and it was), I had no problem paying a deposit. I highly recommend Sakura. We'd rent from them again in a heartbeat.

I had reserved a Toyota Camry or similar, but when I arrived, I was informed that they didn't have any sedans available at the moment. Instead, they upgraded me to a 2025 Chevy Trailblazer crossover SUV at the same price :) Since the office was closed on Monday for the holiday, I was initially told that I would need to pay for an extra day because I wouldn't be able to return the car until Tuesday. However, they advised me to speak with the manager or staff when I returned the vehicle since the situation wasn't my fault. The car itself was practically brand new, very clean, and performed great throughout our trip. When I returned the car at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, I explained the situation to the employee assisting me. He immediately told me that I would only be charged for the days I actually used the vehicle. Since I returned it first thing in the morning, they waived the additional day's charge without any hassle. Overall, my experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, honest, and accommodating, and the rental process was quick and easy. I was repeatedly told it was all in my head from my BF and others so I went to a trusted and EXCELLENT automotive technician who was kind enough to give me a second opinion since my first visit to a new referral took me around the block, had his mechanic simply open the hood and state it was my motor and tranny mounting assembly. WITHOUT even lifting it. My friend also took it around the block gave me his diagnostic opinion after his test drive: WHEELBEARINGS!! He is contractually restricted to only a certain foreign automaker contract of exclusivity so I gad to search for another honest mechanic who could replace him. I thought about my predicament: I live up a canyon. Not good. Another friend recommended me to George and his shop. He had his mechanic lift it and confirm the problem. Sure enough it was a left wheel bearing and NOT a costly mounting replacement. George and his long haired mechanic were very transparent and accommodating to my busy schedule and gave me a GREAT DEAL but what really makes me smile is How the car is RUNNING! A team of men who can respect my limited but valuable knowledge of cars and my concerns is important to me, a woman in a make dominated field.
