Some are for sale, and some are just to enjoy looking at as you mentally travel through childhood memories The dessert offerings are pretty extensive. Not only do they offer a variety of ice cream flavors, but they also have cakes and other desserts as well. It's the perfect place to go for dessert. We opted for a slice of the red velvet cake and a scoop of the mango ice cream. The red velvet cake was tasty, but definitely not my favorite. The flavor profile just was a little off, and the slice was fairly thin considering the cost. The mango ice cream scoop also seemed like it was on the smaller side, but it was pretty tasty. A nice light mango flavor. Ice cream is creamy and definitely a nice way to enjoy a warm summer evening. The place is pretty busy, and while there is seating inside, there's not a lot of it. There is a place on Clement street which is a nostalgic place which different generations of San Franciscans have enjoyed deserts since 1982 . This place is mostly an ice cream parlor which also has lots of toys displayed all over the store with vintage stars of the past decades along with modern day toys characters. Feels like you stepped inside a toy store. Toy Boat by Jane serves different types of ice cream and desserts. They also have different flavors of ice cream. I had the Ube ice cream and it was delicious . It was not too sweet and a bit creamy. I then tried the Vanilla Mango Tango Tangerine ice cream. It was a bit tarty ( not tardy ) and almost more sour than sweet. It was different than most ice cream flavors I have tried. This place has many flavors of ice cream and I will be back to enjoy it all four seasons rain or shine. Come inside Toy Boat by Jane because literally it has lots of character. Got the green mint chip and ultra chocolate ice cream in a cup, small scoops, but it was 6 bucks for a double scoop, so it's all good. They had more unique flavors available too, like "oatsa goody" (oatmilk vanilla, chocolate chips, and peanut butter). They also sell bottled beverages like yoohoo, bubble up, mountain valley spring water, as well as coke and diet coke in vintage classic coca cola bottles. The place was fairly dead around 6:00pm, with three different workers offering to help me. But then 20-25 minutes later the place was packed (it's a small space, so it doesn't take much). The atmosphere is colorful and inviting. Playful decor, movie posters on the wall for films like Pink Panther and Star Wars, toys, action figures, pez candy dispensers, even a coin-operated mechanical horse ride for kids smack in the center of the dessert cafe. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you have been transported decades back! It definitely has that retro feel, with even a play horse in the middle with additional toys. They had a mix of classic flavors and trending ones, so they can cater to everyone. They allowed for many samples, so I ended up try a bunch without shame. 4.5/5 Cookies and Cream was the best one I tried. I actually liked that it wasn't overly sweet, but as you had more you could tell that it still got the sugar. Definitely on the creamy side, but did enjoy it. A lot of their other flavors felt too sweet for me, but honestly that's what I would expect from a place serving classic ice cream. Definitely better than getting it from a Baskin Robbins! If there is a Jane this review is for you. Your staff needs more training in customer service. We went in around 4:00 on a Wednesday and it was not busy, by my standards. I can't speak for your employees. There were 3 groups in line including us. Your staff cannot multitask. The staff member with the long hair, don't want to use the wrong pronouns, was passive aggressive. They were so unpleasant that I can't even say if your ice cream was good. I got two different flavors and all I tasted was sweet. You might want to pass on to your crew, tips come with good service. People don't need to patronize your shop. There are many choices. I choose to never go to Toy Boat again. read more

The place was so cute with all the little trinkets/toys on the wall and the cashiers were really friendly too. We ordered a one inch slice of red velvet cake and a slice of key lime pie. I definitely recommend this place. They switch up their ice creams every week and they also have seasonal flavors, which is really cool. They are a locally owned business so it's very cool supporting them. They also have a Vietnamese restaurant next-door and also a plant nursery place right next to that place. The service here is very amazing. They always check up on you and make sure that you get to sample the ice creams. The ambience here is very amazing as well. Walking through the doors felt like stepping into a time machine they have perfectly preserved the fun, nostalgic charm that made me love it all those years ago. The service was great, matching the wonderful atmosphere. I ordered a brownie sundae, and the friendly staff went out of their way to warm up the brownie for me first. That perfect contrast of a warm, gooey brownie with the cold ice cream made for an unbelievable dessert. I checked out the baked goods. I scanned all the toys along the shelves. It brings back nostalgia. Mr. Potato. Buzz lightyear. Pez candy containers. I was here to pick up TGTG. I got 3 big loaves. Who can eat all that? I ate a slice of each. I love the fig and walnut. The sourdough was my next favorite. If fresh, I can see the crunchyness right out of the oven. All the bread was great. But on this night, I tried the ube and banana flavor combo. First bites - very nice and creamy (i.e. high fat). Not overly sweet, just right. Ube flavor was on point and the banana had just a hint of the banana flavors. I struggled to finish the small size since they were pretty generous. Pricing is low relative to SF as well.
