Super friendly staff. Samples were cheerfully given with patience. Kids liked the avocado, cantaloupe, and grasshopper samples. But they ended up with the cherry flavor. The Not Dot Cake is velvet cake with soft serve and sprinkles. My mom liked her coffee ice cream in a chocolate waffle cone. Nice tables and chairs and a mechanic horse kids can ride. They also had a hand drawn coloring page for July for kids to take.

Revisited Edition: On a San Francisco hot Summer but it's Autumn stroll on Clement street there are lots of good places to grab food. There is a place on Clement street which is a nostalgic place which different generations of San Franciscans have enjoyed deserts since 1982 . This place is mostly an ice cream parlor which also has lots of toys displayed all over the store with vintage stars of the past decades along with modern day toys characters. Feels like you stepped inside a toy store. Toy Boat by Jane serves different types of ice cream and desserts. They also have different flavors of ice cream. I had the Ube ice cream and it was delicious . It was not too sweet and a bit creamy. I then tried the Vanilla Mango Tango Tangerine ice cream. It was a bit tarty ( not tardy ) and almost more sour than sweet. It was different than most ice cream flavors I have tried. This place has many flavors of ice cream and I will be back to enjoy it all four seasons rain or shine. Come inside Toy Boat by Jane because literally it has lots of character. Go to a place where they sugar "coat "everything from mango ice cream to vegan ice cream with "oat "they also sell sundaes and banana splits and a cherry coke" float " but they have all kinds of dessert treats and coffee you will find at Toy "Boat" Try the soy ice cream with "cherry "and some ice cream with "strawberry" and some with oat and some with "dairy "and cake with "blueberry "

tried the viral dot cake and you choose between chocolate, red velvet or vanilla strawberry cake but with a twist- soft serve as well (vanilla chocolate or swirl)! fun take on dot cake and the store itself is super fun and lots of sweet treats to choose from! friendly staff as well :)

This place is awesome the staff always give generous scoops that make it totally worth the price. Inside is cute especially for kids. Grasshopper pie is the best flavor by far!

If you've just eaten at one of the many restaurants on Clement and are looking for dessert, this place has you covered. It's a popular spot with a vintage feel and is decorated with all kinds of fun posters and toys. You can find ice cream, baked goods and candy here. They have a nice selection of ice cream flavors to choose from and the workers will gladly let you sample them. I settled on the lychee flavor which was unique and refreshing. Their single scoop ($5.75) seemed a bit small to me considering they call it a large scoop, but it was enough to satisfy. This is a cute local spot to visit when you're in the mood for something sweet.

This is a cool spot for ice cream and desserts, offering both Double Rainbow and Mitchell's Ice Cream flavors along with various pastries, including lots of giant cookies in the display case. Got the green mint chip and ultra chocolate ice cream in a cup, small scoops, but it was 6 bucks for a double scoop, so it's all good. They had more unique flavors available too, like "oatsa goody" (oatmilk vanilla, chocolate chips, and peanut butter). They also sell bottled beverages like yoohoo, bubble up, mountain valley spring water, as well as coke and diet coke in vintage classic coca cola bottles. The place was fairly dead around 6:00pm, with three different workers offering to help me. But then 20-25 minutes later the place was packed (it's a small space, so it doesn't take much). The atmosphere is colorful and inviting. Playful decor, movie posters on the wall for films like Pink Panther and Star Wars, toys, action figures, pez candy dispensers, even a coin-operated mechanical horse ride for kids smack in the center of the dessert cafe. I enjoyed my sweet treat in this carefree setting and was pleased with my overall experience.

As soon as you walk in, you feel like you have been transported decades back! It definitely has that retro feel, with even a play horse in the middle with additional toys. They had a mix of classic flavors and trending ones, so they can cater to everyone. They allowed for many samples, so I ended up try a bunch without shame. 4.5/5 Cookies and Cream was the best one I tried. I actually liked that it wasn't overly sweet, but as you had more you could tell that it still got the sugar. Definitely on the creamy side, but did enjoy it. A lot of their other flavors felt too sweet for me, but honestly that's what I would expect from a place serving classic ice cream. Definitely better than getting it from a Baskin Robbins! Great spot if you are in the area.

Here again. Still 5 stars. Wish they had more clearly labeled vegan flavors tonight. Lots of seating but very sticky tables lol. Also wished they wiped them down. I know they are always busy, but a 2 min run around the front to wipe them down would make a huge difference for customers. Still, our family has way too many great memories over the years here to give it less than 5 stars. Mostly for nostalgia these days lol. Also, it really is so cute in here. Prices are still really fair, love that.

Cute little shop! Great for a quick ice cream bite after a dinner in the area. Open also a little later which is nice. Got one of their chocolate flavors and coffee. The coffee was actually the best! Highly recommend

I definitely recommend this place. They switch up their ice creams every week and they also have seasonal flavors, which is really cool. They are a locally owned business so it's very cool supporting them. They also have a Vietnamese restaurant next-door and also a plant nursery place right next to that place. The service here is very amazing. They always check up on you and make sure that you get to sample the ice creams. The ambience here is very amazing as well. There's a little toy horse that you can put quarters in like when we were kids and I believe it runs for about three minutes

Unity - 3 stars. This had too much going on! The corn bread was dominant, but also the most unusual flavor. Tue afternoon 2024-07-16

Cute ice cream shop! Lots of vintage toys on display. Apparently there used to be one of those coin-operated horses in the middle of the store, but that's gone now. * Unity (cheesecake, corn bread blueberries, strawberries) - 3 stars. I was too curious not to sample this, but this had too much going on! The corn bread was dominant, but also the most unusual flavor. * Pistachio - 3 stars, not the most authentic flavor, but good. * Lychee - 3.5 stars, pretty refreshing and tasty!

    Outside - so cute

Wow this place is super cute and everyone there was so nice. I got overwhelmed with all the ice cream choices and the person behind the counter was patient. I saw the chocolate Carmel crunch and I was hooked. Ice cream was super tasty and a decent price for the portions They also give whipped cream cups for pups so we got one of those and kept everyone entertained ! Cute seating inside - we just stood outside Would definitely return

Other items include sundaes, parfaits, lattes, cream foam lattes, and teas. *** Soft Serve Ice Cream (Matcha, Cone - $6.95): Amazing ice cream - creamy and dense with a strong matcha flavor. *** This is a fantastic matcha ice cream shop - two big thumbs up. P.S. - If you are already at the shop, this is also a good opportunity to check out other shops in Kinokuniya Mall and the adjacent Japan Center Malls.

Review #1,093 Posted on 7.23.26…read more I had read on here this spot had a rep for having Filipino inspired flavors and wanted to surprise my wife and daughter with a little treat after some local burritos before we went to see Ella Mai while in town in the City on Saturday the 18th. You walk in and grab a number right away to get in line for your order. They probably had 10 people working at the counter helping people get their orders fulfilled, it's that packed here. The ice cream was very good. We all 3 got double scoops, each of us getting the ube, and then 1 other flavor. The ube is a must, super awesome flavor of ice cream, I also tried the coffee toffee crunch, which was excellent. I'd for sure will return here for ice cream in the future, highly recommend.

If you're into frozen milk, this certainly is a place to enjoy it!…read moreThe cornucopia of flavors is staggering. I believe they've been around since 1953. I myself have been going in there since 1984. I'm not really into much dairy, a little cheese from time to time and the occasional child's scoop. But as far as ice cream, you scream, there's no place better on the planet. I'm sure! I mean, avocado ice cream? Shut up, hand me a spoon! Take home a large handpacked portion and forgo a small order. You see, a child's cup of coconut is $5.50 but a 1/2 gallon is $15. You see my point? Simply ask for a sample taste of anything you want for free and then run home and share a tub with friends, and family. My wife sent me in there for the DURIAN which to me smells and tastes like gasoline but it's a slice of Nirvana to her! Two heaping bowls, and she's still raving about it! Fuel for her soul. Parking could be very frustrating and it's always busy. There's one of those pull a number things like at a deli to keep the crowd controlled. Make sure to grab one when you walk in the door or you may set yourself back a handful of customers. But if you're getting a tub to go, there's a special line for that, like a quick service register. Maybe grab a box of cones too to save on dirty dishes back at the crib!

They have a policy where each person can only try three flavors, in the interest of keeping the line moving. The inside is a bit cramped with some seating inside and a refrigerated cabinet with ice cream based treats, as well as a cute spot for "dog parking" by the door. I really like their giant ice cream figurine outside. The first time I visited, I tried their dark chocolate sorbet and mascarpone gelato. This combination was absolutely HEAVENLY. The chocolate was rich and not too sweet, and the mascarpone tasted exactly like a tiramisu. I am always amazed by how they can get chocolate sorbet to taste just as good as chocolate gelato, as there isn't any milk. The second time, I tried their matcha blackberry ice cream and strawberry sorbet. The matcha was smooth and strong, and paired beautifully with the two summer flavors. The strawberry sorbet is limited to only a few weeks and it's so, so good, like summer in a cup!! This is one of my fave spots in the city for classic flavors with perfect execution. I can't wait to try their coffee and pistachio flavors!
