From the second we stepped inside, the owner greeted us like we were long-lost family members who just inherited a fortune. The vibe here is immaculate, but let's talk about the real MVP of the morning: the bottomless mojitos. They aren't just "bottomless" in theory; they are a continuous, delicious stream of minty joy. Pretty sure my glass had a teleportation device attached to it because it was never empty. As for the food? Absolute magic. The French toast is an absolute cloud of deliciousness, the Chilaquiles have the perfect kick to wake you up, and the Ropa Vieja is so tender and flavorful it should honestly be classified as a mood-altering substance. I made reservations for 2 people and we were seated promptly at the end of the restaurant near a door tuck in a corner. I should have asked to be moved... now that's on me. We had a couple of tapas and one main dish. I am not all tickled with the empanadas. I had better ones from Peruvian restaurant. Maybe the Cuban recipe is just different. I bookmarked Havana a year or two ago when one of my friends recommended it. We were deciding where to go for dinner on Friday 8/7/26 and when I mentioned Havana being on my Yelp list, one suggested we go there so I can check it off my list before I move to grad school! Making a reservation online was easy. One person in our party of four was running late but they were able to seat us without the entire party present. We've gone to restaurants that require the entire party to be present so we appreciated that Havana seated the 3 of us as soon as we arrived. Though I didn't order any alcohol, I did try my friends' pineapple martinis and passion fruit lychee mojitos. The consensus was that the pineapple martini was better. It was more sweet than alcoholic and I might have ordered one myself had I not been driving! Our friend who arrived later got a watermelon jalapeño mojito. I didn't try it as I don't like watermelon, but she said it had too much mint. We began our meal with the spicy yucca chips with mango salsa. Despite "spicy" in the description, the chips weren't spicy and paired nicely with the mango salsa. For my entree, I had the mango spinach salad and added shrimp ($10 extra). The portion was generous while not being too heavy. Two of my friends got meat entrees and unfortunately I forget what the third had. Our waiter was friendly and gave good recommendations. When my friend mentioned the mojito had too much mint, he told her she could ask for little/no mint next time. The restaurant itself was not noisy despite coming in a Friday evening. As for the pricing, some might say it's on the pricey side depending on what's ordered. Even though adding the shrimp to the salad was an extra $10, my portion of the bill was still the cheapest ($26 total + tip). The drinks definitely add up! Gavin provided welcoming, informative, and attentive service for our party of 4 for brunch, which included one vegetarian & me with a nut allergy. We wanted to eat family style and Gavin confirmed with the kitchen that we could get the chilaquiles with the chicken on the side in a separate dish, the breakfast hash with the ropa vieja beef separated, and the plantain French toast with pecans on the side. Parking is either street parking or we parked in a structure and walked over. We went on a Monday evening started off with a few mojitos. Passion fruit Lychee and white peach vanilla mojitos. Both were good but I liked the lychee flavor better. For appetizer we had ceviche with banana chips. The banana chips were delicious with the ceviche. For entrees we picked paella and the ropa vieja. The paella was good came out hot and with shrimp, chicken, chorizo , clams and muscles. The ropa brisket was good but to me it felt like a crock pot. Not fall off the bone melt in your mouth brisket. This was a very disappointing experience. One thing that really surprised me is that they serve brunch right up until the very last minute. That's a plus if you get there before or at 230p I ordered from the brunch menu while my friend ordered from the regular menu, and we both left disappointed. The chimichurri steak was just okay, but everything else lacked flavor. The chicken and waffles were especially underwhelming, the chicken was bland, and even the waffle had no flavor. The presentation looked great, but that's about where the positives ended. We also ordered the bottomless mimosas, the choice of bubbly is an Entry-level, mass-produced sparkling wine quality was just not there. The service was just okay, nothing stood out, and it didn't help improve the overall experience. Overall, neither the brunch nor the regular menu impressed us. Greeted & seated immediately by a super nice woman at the front desk. latin music playing, a vibe for sure. Havana is always amazing! Thirsty Thursdays are so fun- salsa lessons and a live Cuban band! Plus the food and drinks are always great! I enjoyed a classic mojito made "not too sweet" the way I like it. The Cuban sandwich is a classic and the best around. The ham croquettes were bursting with creamy rich flavor. My two new favs are the fresh hamachi crudo with bright flavors (this little balls on top are concentrated lime! So amazing) and the snapper ceviche made in traditional Cuban style. I've been to Havana many times before, but this particular visit happened after a long gap so I was keen to know what had changed, if anything at all. The interior was familiar with the bar in the back and the middle island seating available. But everything was clean and lively. The menu appeared to be a mix of old and new items which was appreciated. New tapas, entrees, and drinks allow for a wide selection that'll fit any party size or appetite level. Our server was very upbeat and friendly which was great, granted the restaurant was starting to pick up steam (we arrived around 7pm on a Wednesday). We ordered the Chimichurri Skirt Steak and the Paella. Both flavorful and delivered in a timely manner. The real MVP though has always been the mojitos and this continues to be the case. So good! From the moment you walk in, the Cuban-inspired theme hits you -- vibrant, warm, and done so eloquently without feeling over the top. My waitress was amazing -- charming, funny, and incredibly attentive without ever hovering. I wish I remembered her name, but she was from Pittsburgh and had me laughing throughout the meal. Traveled to Walnut Creek last weekend to take in a holiday play (A Christmas Carol) at the Lesher Center. I wanted a restaurant with tasty food, and not too noisy and within walking distance of the theatre. Found Havana and make a reservation. We arrived a little early and were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. The vibe is classy and cozy. We reviewed the menu and had a hard choice between the many choices of Mojito. I chose the Cherry-Ginger Gin Mojito and my wife had the Blood Orange-Sage. Both were delicious! After reviewing the menu with our server Jeff, we chose to order off the Tapas menu, sharing several small dishes. We started with the Roja Vieja Empanadas with a Chipotle Aioli, the Grilled Shrimp with Sofrito Rice, and the Day Scallops with Truffle-Cumin Crema. My favorite was the Shrimps and my wife loved the Day Scallops - but honestly everything was flavorful. We ordered a second round of Mojito my wife staying with her original Mojito while I switched to the Pear-Clove, wanting to try a different flavor. This blend of 5 liquid ingredients and fresh muddled mint was also delicious. We capped off the dinner with a shared Caramel Rum Flan which was divine. We learned from Jeff they often have live music on Thursdays and have Mojito specials several days. As a heads up, 20% tip was included in the bill for having a large group. I came for brunch with a group of 6 on a rainy Sunday morning. We had a reservation so we were seated right away but there was plenty of seating available I think due to the weather and not a ton of people out and about. There was a lot of high table seating, which we usually try to avoid but there wasn't an option to choose a regular table during my reservation. Loved the food, the scallops had a great sear. The potatoes had a sweet taste which was nice. The kids chicken was ok, I enjoyed the corn that she had (though my daughter didn't like it). Lamb was really good, not gamey at all. We choose a high-top table in the middle so we could observe all the dinner plates being served around us. Started off with a delicious and sweet White Peach Vanilla cocktail, I'll definitely order it again. Aptz was an amazing Grilled Lamb Chop as recommended by our server Joe B. I was chewing on the bone it was so good. After viewing the entrees around us we went with Scallops Boat, Chino-Cubano Fried Rice, Chicken Ropa Vieja and side of Cuban corn. so happy i had came here for dinner. it was very slow and empty on a tuesday night. the host and our waitress were so fabulous and friendly, i wish i had gotten their names. our waitress was so kind and gave us great suggestions for mojitos and was very knowledgeable of the food and drinks menu. the food came out very fast, and hot. it is so beautiful in this restaurant, they have outdoor seating as well. it was very clean in the bathroom and all around. you are given your own water so don't worry about being thirsty or waiting around to get your glass refilled. i got the fig mojito and they were able to swap it for dark rum. i love that the menu was not too big because that is how you know they are able to put a lot of care into their dishes that they make. everything was so delicious. i would love to try the brunch here. i got the vaca frita, it was perfect. i loved how crispy the beef was, the tostones compliments the whole dish. my boyfriend got the ropa vieja and it was also very delicious. the meat was stewed with tomatoes and i love how the plantain paired so well to combat the slight acidity of the meat. read more
