Johnny is one of the most approachable, patient, and responsive service advisors I have ever worked with. Even when unexpected issues arose, as they often do when dealing with insurance, he handled everything with positivity and a clear commitment to finding the best possible outcome. He took the time to ensure I felt supported and confident in the decisions being made. This level of care made a stressful situation much easier to navigate. Some things I appreciate about Toyota Walnut Creek: the service department is open until 10 PM (great for someone like me who might not be able to head over until after 6 PM). This was my experience recently at Toyota of Walnut Creek. Three years ago, I decided to trade in my used Honda Accord for a new 2024 RAV4 Hybrid. I wasn't expecting much, as I grew up hearing that dealerships have bad reputations for trade-in values. To my surprise, they gave me the high-end Blue Book retail value, and I left very happy. A few days ago, I returned to sell them that same RAV4 Hybrid because I could no longer afford the maintenance. At the entrance, I was greeted by Mr. Win Aung, who asked how he could help me. I told him I wanted to sell my vehicle, and he immediately started the process. It took less than an hour to complete, and once again, they gave me the best price at high-end Blue Book retail. Throughout the process, Win was extremely attentive to my questions and concerns. If he felt I didn't fully understand something, he would reassure me until I felt comfortable. Never get your car serviced here. They are a complete rip off. They will over charge for everything especially labor. They wanted $800 to replace a broken taillight. I bought the replacement on Amazon for $50 and swapped it out in 5 minutes. There are videos on YouTube showing how to fix most issues like this. This isn't the first time I have experienced this issue with Toyota of Walnut Creek. They wanted to charge 1.5 hours of labor for a speaker replacement that took me 2 minutes. This is all on top of the quality of Toyota's are not what they used to be. It's like they designed my 4Runner to fail. read more

I was looking for a used car. I found an ad online for the car I thought I wanted, but it was in Walnut Creek; about an hour from me. I sent in a request, and moments later had a response. They quickly sent me a variety of reports on the car that were very helpful and informative. We set up an appointment for me to see the car. My schedule changed quickly, but the people at Walnut Creek Toyota were able to accommodate me. During my schedule changes, they reached out to me and let me know the price of the car had come down. The morning of my appointment, Reggie Howard introduced himself to me. He let me know that the original sales person had asked Reggie to help me out. Reggie made me feel very comfortable with the entire transaction. My requests were met with a 'can do' attitude and Reggie went out of his way to make sure my needs were met. When I told Reggie that I wanted to get out of there in an hour, having spent hours in dealerships before, Reggie told me that he would try to get me out in 45 minutes. UPDATE 10/24/25: Since my extremely negative review on 10/11/25, Walnut Creek Toyota finally reached out to me, and offered me their profuse apologies. I dealt with several phone calls from Eddy (one of the managers), who was patient with me and listened to all my concerns. They obviously didn't admit any wrongdoing, but offered to redo the entire maintenance service from top to bottom which I appreciated (in case they "missed" something previously). My service advisor Tuyen helped me again, and the service only took one hour as compared with the 8 hours of 10/11/25. I also received timely updates during the service which I didn't get during the first service. Thank you again Eddy and Tuyen for your help and patience. I will give the service today 4 out of 5 stars, the service was very good, but the situation shouldn't have gotten to this point, which is why I took a point off. This Service Department is very UNPROFESSIONAL. I have had 2 Prius, a RAV4, and a Sienna Van and have never had such horrible service. Recently I have dealt with Toyota's fumbling service dept. multiple times had set appointments that got messed up, rudeness, inconsistent information on vehicle completion. I was overcharged for rental days with "courtesy vehicle," and they would have kept adding days if I hadn't followed-up on my vehicle. Cashier that doesn't have time to explain overcharges- hot potato with more lies. Rude "NEW" Department Manager -Jerry-who patronizes, instead of dealing with the actual issues that my Service Writer is either absent and/or Non-commutative on repairs, time for pick-up, scheduled appointments and inaccurate. Had literally 3 appointments and each time it boils down to they are so rushed they aren't reviewing or take time with genuine call updates, or questions at completion, by a service writer that is gone already. You are given to others who don't have any awareness of your work just completed- literally winging-it just reading the repair order notes and trying to figure it out as they go. (Ironically that was the kindest part of all recent appointments, a Service Writer trying to help- but still having to get ahold of the actual Service Writer-by phone..smh ‍) Overall : Exhausting experience due to UNPROFESSIONAL, CARELESSNESS, LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY OR OVER-SITE. I had a great experience buying a used RAV4 from Amer on 10/31. I had been to 2 other dealerships prior and generally felt pressured/manipulated to the point of exhaustion. I took my vehicle here to sell it and they completely lied about to me about the worth of the car showing me false and incorrect information on their computer assessment. Offered me 1,200 dollars less than they said over the phone and made me wait four hours just to complete the transaction. Had asked several people for assistance all to be ignored multiple times. The woman assessing my vehicle nearly broke the shifter because they did not understand how the electronic shifter works. They had also not heard of the U.S. state of Oregon where I purchased the vehicle. My Name is Laura Valverde. I must be stupid, bought 2 cars at Walnut Creek Toyota, used cars both with problems. I wanted to get out of the purchase, but sharks will lie to you and make you believe they are on your side. Car #1 was full of dents and scratches and a faulty front bumper, TWC say they fix it, few months later is falling again, this time they say I caused it and then is best to call my insurance. When we were looking for a new care we were shopping in Nov we go to the dealership late in the afternoon, almost dark, we did not see the imperfections and is the job of the dealer to let you know, he was quiet, not saying anything, it was until I signed and got my keys and a different lighting, is when I saw all the damages, they promised they were going to fix them, many were beyond repair. I kept the care with a loss bumper, they were supposed to fix it, I am sure they did not because the same issue is happening again. Now, it looks worse, I guess I should have taken pictures of the condition underneath the bumper when they pre and post they claim they "fix" it. The Bodyshop expert made me feel like I was a scammer and liar. Oh No he said, this is cause by an accident, meaning we did. Car#2 Had a horrible crack on the front tired, we told the dealer and pretend to hear, the noise was so bad we brought, I said I don't want this car (with in 3 days of purchase where you can still return the lemon) They promised to fix it, it was a major repair, so far so good, let see. On care#1 they say is my fault his time the bumper is lose, we caused it. I know in my heart they never changed the bumper; they snapped in the best they could and is lose again because IT WAS NEVER TRULY FIX. At the end of the day, car dealers are not going to lose money, still I had invested over 50K on the cares, today, they call me a liar. read more

Been leasing from Toyota Walnut Creek since 2019. Started with Mondy, who I really liked, but he has since retired, unfortunately. I have typically had great experiences until today. Went in, prepared to sign a new lease. When I spoke with them the prior week, they had discussed a $1,500 deposit. Anyway, I had wanted to change that to $500, but nothing was mentioned when I walked in today to sign the new lease. I spent over 2 hours waiting to sign etc. There was no mention of the deposit even as I signed the documents. No mention of a rebate or anything. There was nothing in the documents about a deposit, so I assumed it was waived. As I signed the docs, I kept asking about the car because I had to leave for an appointment. The sales guy said they had to detail/gas it up. I believed him, so I waited and waited. Just as I was about to transfer my belongings to the new car, he said, "We're gonna need that $1500 from you". I was surprised and said he should have mentioned it right from the beginning. I would have tried to negotiate it down a little, but I was fully prepared to purchase the new lease. I believe the sales guy expected me to be so enamoured of the new lease, that I would quickly pay whatever they wanted. Most people don't realize that a lot of us just need a reliable car to take us from point a to b, and new cars don't mean a thing to us. Anyway, the whole experience left a bitter taste in my mouth and I left in my old leased car. I asked them to void the documents I had just signed. My family and I went on Sunday to look at a car, and they told us that it was not ready and that we should return it on Friday. The salesman told us that they would put the cart on hold for us, and we even offered to put a down payment on it, but he told us no and that he only needed our information. However, we went down there today, and he told us the car was sold and didn't even try to call me back if I was still interested because they have a buyer. This was a super unprofessional interaction, and you should have tried to at least contact me about it. They made us make a trip for no reason and wasted our time. We came in on a Sunday afternoon in the hopes of looking for a car. We had an idea of what we were looking for and interested, but wanted to come in person before pulling the trigger. Upon arrival, we were eagerly greeted at the door by Mike. He offered us hot chocolate, coffee and water and showed us where the restroom was to ensure that we were comfortable prior to getting started. He was extremely attentive to all of our needs as a family looking to purchase a family car. At the end of the evening, we had finally settled on the 2022 Highlander XLE. Mike assured us with ensure all the paper work was handled and the car was in the best condition we can have to drive it off the lot. Original Review: I am not one to write negative reviews, but this was such a negative experience at Toyota Walnut Creek, my hope is other customers won't have to go something similar. I have bought countless new cars from dealerships over my lifetime, and every experience has ultimately been filled with joy, as I take possession of a new car. This experience I had at Toyota Walnut Creek was unfortunately the worst experience I have ever had at a dealership. I arrived with checkbook in hand ready to pay cash for my new Toyota Rav4 Prime XSE, which I had put a deposit down on almost two years prior. I figured I would be in and out of the dealership in under an hour since I had an appointment, but the process took over two and 1/2 hours. Below are some of the unbelievable and most frustrating experiences I have ever encountered when I purchased my new car: The car was sent to "detail" when I arrived, which should have been done beforehand as I had an appointment time. After the car was returned from detailing, it was dirty on the outside and in. It looked like I was purchasing a used car or a rental even though there were 8-miles on the odometer. The smell inside the car was terrible because they sprayed a very strong and overpowering deodorizer in the interior. It smelled like someone had hung 15 Christmas tree deodorizers from the rear-view mirror. As a result, I couldn't smell the wonderful new car smell that I love. I have had to keep the car's windows down in the garage to air it out and it's still not right. When they realized and agreed that it was still very dirty, they returned it to be re-detailed, which took another 35-minutes. While waiting, I shared respectfully with the sales rep I was not interested in any of the Toyota add-ons (finish protection, extended warranty, etc.). The sales rep put on an extreme hard-sell on these add-ons even though I told him four separate times I was not interested. I felt like I was stuck in a time-share presentation. After declining the add-ons, completing and signing all documents, the sales rep came back to me to tell me that the price they drew up in the documents I just signed was too low by $3 dollars. He asked me to re-write check for $3 dollars more, after I had already waited over 2-hours. (It's not the three dollars, it's the principal). I installed a 240v, 50-amp outlet in my garage specifically to charge this vehicle. I was disappointed my rep knew nothing about higher amperage/faster charging in the Rav4 Prime and was not able to advise me specifically on the type of cable I needed to charge using that outlet. After the car returned from the second detail, we did a walkthrough and I asked to see the spare tire. My sales rep told me with conviction that there is no spare tire that comes with the 2023 Rav4 Prime XSE. He said "there's not room with the batteries and onboard charger." I said "what happens if you get a flat tire?" He proceeded to tell me that you call Toyota roadside assistance, and they either have to repair the tire on the spot or you have to get the car towed to a shop to repair and reinstall the tire. When I got home I checked and found that there was in fact a spare tire in the wheel well. When it was time to go through the features, my rep could not connect my phone to the Toyota onboard computer. He tried unsuccessfully 5-times. When I requested that a technician come help, he asked to keep trying instead of getting help. (Whose time is more valuable?). The tech person who came help was incredibly friendly, efficient, and helpful. He immediately knew what to do and had my phone paired within 3-minutes. I am sad that what should be such an exciting experience was anything but due to so many compounding bad experiences. There was never any gesture offered (like an Amazon gift card or something) for the string of horrible experiences, which is not about the money but is about redeeming the customer experience. I hope Toyota Walnut Creek improves training/processes so that other customers don't experience what I did. read more

I asked him details about the vehicle and different insights on the vehicle, (very basic information) and he is giving off a demeanor of superiority as if I couldn't afford the vehicle I was inquiring on. I felt so frustrated and asked for a different sales person, when he asked why, I just said I'd prefer to speak to someone else, he thanked me replied "well I am the manager" as if that even mattered or was relevant to me asking to speak to someone else who could treat me equally as a human. On Sunday October 27th I had walked into Toyota Walnut Creek to purchase a certified Toyota Tundra 2021 for asking price. I was met by a "manager" Brendan/Brandon and he had told me that the truck was getting a wheel alignment and wasn't able to get me the keys to show me the inside. He said both copies of the key were together and locked up inside the garage that was used for maintenance. Now mind you I am ready to purchase the vehicle the day of but because the key was locked in, Brendan said I couldn't buy it and would have to come back another day. I seen the ad of this vehicle online and if you are advertising something you better make sure vehicle is ready for sale right away. I then asked Brendan if I can leave a deposit and he said no, but I can give my info for a hold until the vehicle is done and ready to sell. I told him I was available to come on Thursday Oct 31st and he said ok. Upon arrival this morning I found out that the vehicle was sold. This is very bad business. I literally drove from Sacramento to Walnut Creek-- waste of money, gas and time to find out the car was gone. Stay away from this place. I would give it a lower rating if possible. I'm writing this review for Parts. I do not know anything about their sales or service as I have never taken my car here for maintenance. I talked to Vince because I needed to replace my car's 12v battery and he was easy to talk to...no upselling and no BS. I bought the battery home and replaced it myself successfully. A few days later I went back with my old 12v battery and they credited me $19 back. If you can change the battery on your TV remote then you can replace the battery in your car. If it's your first time there's also YouTube videos that help with their step by step process. It takes 10 minutes max... it's that easy. No need to go to a mechanic and pay them with "labor costs". read more

Rude, negligent, top to bottom. On 3/31/2022 I placed an order for touch-up paint in red color for my Sienna. I was advised that someone would call me when the paint arrives. About 4/10 I called to check the status. I found out that the person taking the order did not even enter either of the two phone numbers we gave him. I also discovered that the part had arrived a couple of days earlier and then it was perhaps lost. The apparently management person claimed he would reorder and expedite it. I called again on 4/18/2022 only to find out that there was perhaps another misplacement. The responding tech claimed it was not normal for the paint to take this long. Could not recommend Chris from the Service Department and Norm the technician enough. They saved the day. Had my last service done at a different Toyota dealer who shall remain nameless. They decided it would be funny to tighten the oil filter housing on my 4Runner 3/4 further than it's supposed to be secured with apparently the most powerful impact gun in the world because when I go to change my oil, I can't get the thing off with a 1.5 foot wrench/pipe/oil filter head combo. I try to loosen the filter housing, but it's on so tight that the housing (plastic POS) breaks before I can loosen it. Now I am leaking oil, have a broken filter housing secured to my rig, and can't go anywhere because there's no oil in the car. Call the other Toyota dealer, no luck. 5:03PM and every service manager is gone. I call the Walnut Creek Toyota, Chris answers, I explain, and he tells me to get in there ASAP so he can get the rig looked at and fixed up (I'm supposed to drive to Utah at 6AM the following morning and it's past 5PM On a Friday). Long story short, I call AAA, they tow the 4Runner into the shop, Norm is a whiz and gets all of my oil needs taken care of (I brought all of the gear I was using and a new METAL housing to replace the plastic POS one I was about to switch until it broke), Chris makes sure I am taken care of and not charged a penny. Went from panicking I wouldn't be able to make the trip to stoked about the guys in the Walnut Creek Toyota dealer. Didn't charge me a dime that day but they gained a customer who will be coming back to Chris and Norm for my service needs. Both were great communicators and a pleasure to talk with. A few months ago I was helping my best friend find a new car. Looking for a Grand Hybrid Highlander was not an easy task. As I live in Fairfield and we didn't have any luck finding what we were looking for in the Sac area where she resides, I started calling dealers in the Bay Area. Some of those dealers didn't make an effort to help as the vehicle we were looking for was in high demand and the wait list was 3-6 months out. When I called Walnut Creek's Toyota dealership I was greeted by Kenny K. This young man listen to the long list of features and he assured me he would look out for anything close to what I was in search of. After my speech I told him oh and by the way the car is not for me. Others dealerships were turned off when I said that and told me to have the actual person buying the car call them, but not Kenny K. He followed up with me with various variations of what I was looking for. 2 months later the Grand Highlander has been pulled off the production line, so we decided to go with a hybrid Highlander, bucket seats, with sunroof. Today I had the pleasure to accompany my best friend as he delivered her with her brand new car. His customer service in person was just as superb as his phone etiquette. This is a review for service and sales. I've recommended several friends to purchase vehicles from Toyota WC, all have been taken care of like family. The dealership asked great questions and gave a great car recommendation. For me, it's service that's the superstar. I brought in a vehicle that others weren't interested in repairing. These guys took care of it, and the GM even called me to make sure I got exactly what I needed. They go the extra mile, and one more to make sure you are given the service that they promise.
