We started the car and all was well, then we forgot something in the house and turned the engine off and when we went to restart it the engine wouldn't start. Oh no!!!! Well we didn't want to be late so we took a different car. Thankfully we had 3 cars to choose from. Later that afternoon we went back home to tackle the car that wouldn't start. We packed all of our belongings for our trip home and went to start our car and it still wouldn't start. Thankfully we had a solo battery charger in our trunk so we whipped it out and jump started our battery and the engine roared to life. We next googled the closes O'Reilly and found this one on Monument Blvd just a few miles away. We zipped on over and parked right in front next to the other car with their hood up. We went inside and explained the situation to the sales person. He looked up and had our battery in stock. Next we went out to test our battery and yep it was a dead one. Our battery was purchased from O'Reilly back in Nov 2023 and the warrantee had just expired. Too bad. We went back inside and bought a new battery. There were several to choose from. We choose the gel one with a 4 year warrantee. He said if we loose the receipt not to worry as our purchase is on file. We all returned to the car and he installed the batter. For an extra $2 we bought some goop to put on the battery so the connections won't corrode. As it turns out the gentleman helping us has a daughter with the same make and model as us with the same amount of miles. What a coincidence. While we were having out batter installed 3 other people pulled up and were also having their batteries tested. They have a great business going on a Sunday afternoon. With the battery installed we were all set to hit the road again. Crossing our fingers that this one isn't a dud. We bought a battery for our other car last week and it was a dud. After a day the car wouldn't start again and it turns out the battery was a dud. It caused us so much undue stress. So beware lots of these batteries are not exactly new, but recharged and sold as new batteries. If there is a lot of stickers on the top of the battery you don't want it. For us this was a good experience. It's so nice that they will install the batteries for free and take the old one back to dispose of.

It was over 100 degrees outside and he took the time to fix my back license plate mount that was stripped because Mercedes Fairfield lied that they fixed it. The metal bracket stripped the plastic on the license plate mount. In and out of the store 3+ times to get tools and adjust the plastic expansion nuts. It's a temporary fix but it's better than getting pulled over for no plates at all. Thank you again and God bless you!

I had an appointment, but when I arrived, I was told they were backed up -- so that meant a long wait. After the diagnostic, the service advisor told me the compressor was bad. He even double-checked with the technician to confirm that the relays and fuses had been tested, and the technician said they were good. Fast forward -- I took the vehicle to another shop to have the compressor replaced. After installation, the A/C still didn't work. I mentioned what Pep Boys had said and asked if we could do some basic troubleshooting. Within minutes, we found a bad relay -- something that should have been tested immediately. A quick test, the technican could have easily done was I swapped the A/C relay with the fuel system relay right next to it, and sure enough, the compressor came on and the engine died 10 seconds later. Extremely frustrating experience. A simple, basic test was completely missed, leading to unnecessary expense and wasted time. Friendly people, but I won't be trusting them with diagnostics or servicing any of my vehicles.

Yes, I have triple AAA but there cost was well over $300 for my battery and installation. The store itself is pretty small, the battery selection was not that great and the shelves looked a bit empty. Definitely smells like an auto store. I was able to go on to their website and find the battery I needed at the right price. The cost was about $175 with a $20 deposit fee that was returned when I gave them my old battery. Since ordering it online, I thought it would be quicker. When I went to go pick it up, there was a mishap and it took the poor employee forever to find it. He went back in to the warehouse and looked for it, talked to other employees, and come to find out. It was on the shelf of the store..... I could have pulled it. Anyways, don't expect much. Come here for your car parts and leave. They definitely do not have any special parts you may need. They did advise me to head over to the dealership as it may be the only way to get this piece. Thanked him for the advice! There are a bunch of teenagers that work there so I'm not sure how knowledgeable they are about cars. But I can always be wrong.

Unfortunately, my experience with the service department today was extremely disappointing. Over the weekend, I noticed that my right rear tire pressure was low. After filling it to the appropriate pressure, I found a nail in the tire. Since I purchased the additional tire protection coverage through Subaru, I drove approximately 35 minutes to Diablo Subaru of Walnut Creek this morning to have the tire repaired. When I arrived, the service advisor asked if I had an appointment. I told him I did not and explained that I simply needed a tire repaired because of a nail. He told me I would need to leave the vehicle and that it would not be ready until approximately 4:00 p.m. I asked if there was any way they could squeeze me in sooner for what should be a relatively straightforward tire repair. He appeared to type something into the computer and again told me 4:00 p.m. I then asked whether I could take the vehicle to another Subaru dealership instead. His response was, "I don't know if you can, but you can go to America's Tire and get it repaired there." I explained that I had purchased Subaru's Equity Shield Optimum Vehicle Protection program and that I wanted the repair handled through the coverage I paid for. I then asked to speak with a manager. I was told the manager was not there. When I asked for the manager's business card or contact information, I was told he did not have one. What made the experience even more frustrating was what happened next. I contacted the Hayward Subaru service department and explained the exact same situation, including that I have Subaru's Equity Shield Optimum Vehicle Protection. Their service advisor immediately looked up my information, confirmed that they could handle the repair and file the claim through the protection program, and told me they could repair my tire in approximately 30 minutes. The difference in customer service was significant. I understand that service departments get busy and that customers without appointments may sometimes have to wait. My issue is not simply that Diablo Subaru could not immediately repair the tire. My concern is the lack of effort, knowledge, and assistance I received, especially considering I purchased both my vehicle and the additional protection plan from this dealership only a few months ago. At minimum, I would expect a Subaru service advisor to know how the protection program works, verify my coverage, explain my options, or help direct me to another Subaru retailer that could process the claim. Instead, I was essentially told to leave the vehicle until 4:00 p.m. or go somewhere else, without even confirming whether my coverage could be used elsewhere. Hayward Subaru was able to provide in a brief phone call the level of assistance I expected from the dealership where I actually purchased the vehicle and protection plan. This was a disappointing first impression of Diablo Subaru of Walnut Creek's service department and has made me seriously reconsider bringing my TrailSeeker here for future service.
