This was one of those places that we can check off as "been there, done that" and close the door, never to come back.

The parking situation was less than optimal which meant that drawing customers to this business during peak meal hours has become difficult. They are also not open on Monday and Tuesday which puts them at more of a disadvantage versus the competitors in the Convoy District. The emphasis on using fresh fruits to make their products seems to have lessened over time. For example, they used to have a basket at the service counter displaying various fruits, but I didn't see that anymore. Two self-service tablets were available to place an order. The menu screen hung above the one at the counter. I chose one of my go-to drinks which was a Mango Green Tea with less ice and boba pearls added. There was no available inside seating so I stood around and waited for my item which was rapidly prepared. The $6.99 cost for a 20 oz cup was on par with the local market prices. The fruitiness of the mango was prominent, however I felt the pearls were a bit undercooked and chewy. For my latest visit to DaYung's Tea, I gave the experience a three star rating.

The hot honeydew milk tea tasted delicious! It really tasted like honeydew and had no caffeine despite it saying tea, both of which I really liked. I tried some of the longan jujube milk tea, and that was really good as well. I could really taste the jujube flavor. The waitress helped pick the honeydew milk tea and had good suggestions. Service was friendly. The back room was decent to sit on, but the tables were a bit oddly shaped. The decor wasn't much. They also use non-dairy creamer and can't substitute. I had a good experience here, mainly because my drink tasted delicious and there was no caffeine.

I got the Banana Cream Coffee and three different flavors of cheesecake (Oreo, Cookie Butter and Berry). I really liked the coffee... it had a strong banana cream flavor, but it didn't overpower the coffee. I enjoyed it and will definitely order it again. I will probably order it after I try a few other things on their menu that I'm curious about. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try to cheesecake. My family ate them... they aren't huge slices or anything. Looks like 4-5 bites would end one cheesecake. They did tell me they liked the Oreo and Cookie Butter. That's what happens when you have fatties in the family. Oh well, I have an excuse to go back. I did find their pricing a little strange. A flight of three cheese cakes is $15.75 which is $5.25 each. A pack of two is $8.50 which is $4.25 each. So it is cheaper to buy the two pack. I guess they are charging more for the variety. I think they'd probably sell more if it were a little cheaper like $12.00 per flight (or $4.00 per cheesecake). They have since updated their pricing (as of July 2026). On a different visit, I was finally able to try the cheesecake. I like both the Cookie Butter and Oreo, but if I had to choose only one I'd go with Oreo. I also tried their Ube Mochi Cake. It was moist, doughy and chewy on the inside with good ube flavor. I really enjoyed it and will try the other flavors next time. The place is clean. There are two self serve kiosks inside. There is a taller table where you can stand and enjoy your drink. They have no chairs in there at all. So you can't sit inside to enjoy your drink and dessert which is kind of a bummer. Also means it's not a place where students can hang out to student or where people can come to do work on their laptop or just chill. I guess the owner just doesn't want to deal with any of that. I'll return for drinks and some dessert, but if I'm in the mood to sit and relax or study at a tea joint this is not the place. So unless I'm in the mood for one of their drinks and okay with going home, I would not prioritize visiting here. It kind of sucks because the drinks and desserts are pretty good. There are probably people like me that like the drinks and desserts but might choose to go somewhere else because there is no seating. Plenty of parking at this shop. They do close early at 7:00pm and are closed on Tuesdays. Plan accordingly.
