Tpot was really good! The bbq meats were good quality and very tasty. I also liked that they had the small buffet and sauce bar. The salt & pepper shrimp were especially good. Overall quite good value. Certainly it was the most "Americanized" Korean bbq I've been to (they give you forks and you need to ask for chopsticks, etc.), but I still liked the food more than others in the area. We started frequenting this establishment during their soft opening period up until a few weeks ago. The experience is enjoyable and the food is always good, however, the shellfish can be a little 'fishy' at times. They also have changed the layout a lot over a very short period of time. For instance, closer to opening you could self serve on some of the non-meat items. Now all that remains is the sauce/hot bar and ice cream cooler. The real issue and why I don't give this place a better review is that the server turnover is unreal. We typically go once a month and have never seen or had the same server twice. On our last visit, we ended up with someone who admitted to being brand new who decided to card a grey haired old man (me). I asked for a manager who wasn't much older that our server and they refused on principle because I challenged them; they also ignored my ask for a general or senior manager. You can debate the principle of having your age verified on any number of points, but when someone is clearly multiples older than 21, the principle falls away and the insult to intelligence begins to set in. I emailed the Gmail account associated with their contact form over a week ago and never got a response, which at this point, is my primary complaint and a point for people to take note of should they run across a situation where they try to reach out to leadership. Much like most places, it's luck of the draw and we got a really lousy draw last time, but honestly the service is somewhat lackluster. They have these tablet devices they want you to use, but you have to first have them be enabled by your server and then it's hit or miss as to when they will return to check in (presumably because we can order some things on the tablet, but not incidentals like a fork or a spoon, etc.) YMMV. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for date night for Korean BBQ (we opted out of hot pot). It was my boyfriend's first time doing Korean BBQ and our waitress, Haley, was polite and did a great job with explaining the process. To start, I got a peach martini, which was 10/10. They had a great variety of appetizers and our favorite was the Korean fried chicken. We also tried the seafood boil (crab leg was over cooked but it was still good), fried dumplings, and spring rolls. They also had a variety of sauces and seasonings available, with recipes to create signature sauces. We tried various meats and seafood options. Our favorites were the short rib, shrimp, and spicy chicken bulgogi. Protein options came out quickly and our server Haley assisted us with preparing the food and changing out the grill. She even gave us some coupons which was super sweet. Dessert options were limited but we settled for some ice cream and cotton candy. Interesting place! My hunnie ventured to the Waldorf location while I was out of town and had raved about this place and wanted to bring me back to give it a try, so a perfect Sunday adventure for us. All I can say is come with an appetite! So much delicious food to try whether you're a vegetarian or fan of the meats they offer. In addition to the BBQ & hot pot options, they offer a fruit/sweets bar as well as some fried food appetizer options & a variety of sauces and seasonings. We were hoping to get sushi, however this location didn't offer sushi so we'll have to venture back down to the Waldorf location one of these days. Something different. They customize the soup for me because I like a little spice with a plain soup base. Normally we do seafood and chicken first so we can both eat, then babe goes in with the pork and beef! I don't eat pork or beef but I always have plenty! Just so you're aware the food covered to the table raw, and you cook it. We can eyeball it now but used to set timers (they have the length of time at the table); you'll need your own timer. There's a salad bar with sauce- the good stuff, fruit, desserts, and cooked food if you just can't wait. I'd recommend giving them a try! We watched this place for what seemed like forever... And it finally opened! We were excited to have dinner on a weekend night with no wait. No wait is pretty much unheard of when it comes to KBQ! Upon entering we were greeted and seated quickly. The ambiance was pretty much like any other hot pot bbq place. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Of course she was new, but still efficient. Now let's talk about why we're here... the food! They offered an abundance of hot pot ingredients. The menu was as expected with the exception of the rice. It was not Korean short grain rice BUT it was jasmine rice. Don't get me wrong, I like jasmine rice but can we get proper rice when out for Korean food? I always recommend going to places like this if you are eating with people with various tastes. There is always something to cater to anyone and everyone. But let's start with the service! Our waitress was great! She periodically checked on us even though we could've ordered on the iPad. She was also quick to serve us and the whole wait staff was friendly from entering to checkout. The overall vibe is your typical restaurant. It was not too crowded when we arrived and it did not get overly busy by the time we left dinner. Getting back to the food. The selection was decent with some meats, seafood, sides and hot appetizers at the bar. They even had a nice selection of ice cream if you're dining in. This is definitely one of the very worse if not the worse Korean BBQ restaurant I have ever been to and I have been to countless spots. No one came to the table and check on us, the grill is burnt and no one came changed it although I have asked them multiple times. Everytime the servers would say, ask your waiter... The food quilty is extremely poor, the service is really really really bad sloppy and very slow, I asked them for a spoon and I have to wait for 20 minutes for them to give it to me and It was dirty and really big, so I have to ask another server and I had to wait another 18 minutes to get it, the place is so dirty, sloppy, bad and expensive food and service js extremely bad. So glad to finally have a Korean BBQ place that also boasts an hot-pot experience, too! I'm not sure if that's being overly ambitious, though... time will tell. We went during their soft opening, so it's very hard to gauge the experience off of the opening week. But, it was not without many positives. The negatives, eh... hard to tell right now. Positive: * The food was good, with some tasty bulgogi options (beef, chicken, pork), with both spicy and regular. Their cuts were fairly typical for a Korean BBQ, but they also had lamb (not used to seeing that!) and more seafood options than I'm used to. * The flavors were good! The marinated bulgogi was particularly noteworthy. The non-marinated options, though, definitely benefit from a sauce or two. We had to ask for sesame oil from the server (which was odd) and you basically get your own sauces from a mini-buffet. Odd, but not really a problem. * We only tried the BBQ, as we weren't sure about the hot-pot yet, but we definitely did not leave hungry! They kept the meat coming, and their pacing kept up with ours! * Angie was a wonderful server! * The entire staff seemed to be acting in concert, which was also very helpful. Drink refills came quickly, the staff kept the grill cleaned by replacing the tops when they were too charred, and it was honestly pretty well moving for a place that hadn't been open but a week! * This joint is spacious! It kind off has to be, owing to the nature of the restaurant, but they certainly had plenty of real estate to work with. Always nice. Negative: * Missing were the traditional side dishes you might expect from a Korean BBQ. They do have kimchi and some sauces for you to grab yourself, but no real selection of other authentic veggies or lettuce or soup... Rice on request, though. * It was $30 per person, which... I guess if you're serving up nonstop meat isn't all that bad. * No time limit, which is actually a bad thing in this case! Because there wasn't a posted limit (that I found), tables didn't turn over as quickly. So, we ended up waiting for 90 minutes for a seat. This was also probably due to the soft opening, though, so that makes sense. * I didn't see any galbi, pork belly, or other traditional meat offerings. Yes, they had three kinds of bulgogi... six if you count the spicy varieties. * The burner wasn't working properly at our table. It took about 10 minutes to get it lit and stay lit. But, I will say, once they figured this out, it didn't go out the entire meal. * I'm a tall guy, admittedly, but the leg space was almost non-existent. The table acts as your grill of course, but that means a lot of space underneath is dedicated to the mechanics of said grill and the many hotpot burners. They weren't set up all the way yet, so that obviously isn't helping. They have an entire to-go section that wasn't operational yet. They also don't have anything set up on the bar yet (maybe waiting on a liquor license still?). So, they still have some work to do, clearly. Overall... the jury is still out, in my opinion. I think this place has a lot of potential, as it is a huge space and has decent food. I'd really like to see where they are after a month, three months, and six months. It should be fun (or at least filling) to watch this place grow into its space over the days ahead! read more

We went here on two separate occasions since opening: once with a group of 10 for hot pot and the other for KBBQ with just two people. Between the two experiences, I'd say the bbq was better. I don't think I would go for both at one sitting. For the price range, it is a little pricey for the area, but the quality of the meat for the price is good. During bbq session, we ordered beef tongue, kalbi, pork belly, steak, lamb, bulgogi, and shu mai appetizer. The sauce bar is not the best I've ever had, but it has the basics if you're willing to mix your own. If you're going for marinated meats, their options are limited. I just make my own sauce at the bar and dip the barbecued meat into it. Note: Service is hit or miss if you have a party bigger than 6. People have the weirdest complaints when it comes to judging the authenticity of food from other cultures. I don't know much about Korea, but at times I get the feeling that people think it's like this small place where everyone is the same and not a country that's 38,691 mi². So, when they say something doesn't taste like authentic Korean BBQ, which is the region that you're familiar with? What part of Korea have you been to and eaten BBQ? Or is it that the food doesn't taste the same as your personal favorite spot in America, and you've chosen that place to be your measuring stick for authenticity? The Hot Pot & BBQ together was 34.99 but you get a lot of options with it. This includes ordering appetizers, and there's an area for snacks and desserts. The restaurant is clean and even as packed as it was when I went, there was actually a lot of space. I was also happy to see that the tables had leg room, unlike some of the other places I have been to. Once I got past that hurdle it was pretty much smooth sailing. The food here is really good. I came for the spicy or belly and spicy beef ribs but was pleasantly surprised by some of their other options. The beef belly was one of the sleepers that I found myself really enjoying. I thought that the meats were marinated perfectly and pack a lot of flavors without being too heavy on spice. The fried chicken, scallops, and fries were all solid appetizers. The kimchi pancake wasn't what I'm used to, (which doesn't mean it's not authentic), but it was okay. The only thing that I don't like about this location (and it's the same at most). Is that if one person wants Hot Pot, we all have to get it. I never really want Hot Pot, I just come for the BBQ. I don't enjoy being penalized just because other people may decide to be dishonest. I was with a party of 6 and everyone else wanted hot pot. They barely ate off the grill and would've been fine not doing so at all and I could care less about eating soup. We all paid an extra 5 bucks "Just because" and I don't feel like that's good business. However, that's not something that's specific to this location and doesn't affect how much I enjoyed my visit. Lastly, this location has a takeout side that does Ramen, BBQ Bento boxes, and Poke. They also do Boba, but you must walk over to that side and order it. I went to the Grand Opening this weekend. I really love the decor and atmosphere. My waitress was Maddie and she was the sweetest waitress I have ever had. She was very attentive and I was honored to be her first table during the grand opening. No alcoholic beverages, but the Korean BBQ & Hot Pot is all you can eat. I love that! And an added touch is the Ice-Cream Bar. The perfect servings for dessert after you have stuffed your face. Lol! We, my wife and I, have been to T Pot a few times and it's become our go to Hot Pot place. The restaurant is kept clean, ordering is fairly easy, and the ingredients arrive in short order. We've always been greeted with smiles and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Most importantly to me T Pot is very service dog friendly, and they do a great job of ignoring my pupper. The shrimp paste has a nice texture and taste, especially in comparison to the offerings of a few others. The corn, mushrooms, and broccoli were fresh and of good quality. I am a little disappointed that they've been unable to source swai since we started visiting. One of my favorite items on the menu is the seafood pancake, I believe it is the best I've ever had and is unique, the ingredients are fresh and it's a bit like quiche vs. the heavier dishes I've had in the past. The pancake has a very rich flavor without being heavy, it's pure heaven to me. The only complaint is that T Pot is a bit loud, the rooms are all hard surfaces at 90-degree angles, so the places echoes and can become rather cacophonous when seating is full, or a larger group is near you. Greeted right away when we walked inside, great attention to new guests. Bar was not set up for alcohol yet since they didn't have their liquor license yet. We ended up deciding to get the all you can eat Korean BBQ portion of the menu and save the hot pot part of the menu for the future. The idea behind the kbbq is similar to many other restaurants, but their side options are vastly different in the way you select and gather sides. The sides are set up in the front of the restaurant and open to any patron in the building. Weirdly enough, any individual can come up and cough or sneeze on the open veggies. Our group didn't love that idea, and hopefully, it will be changed before their real opening. The meat and marinades were good. We definitely got to try a variety of meats here, which was unique. We liked the finger ribs, which textural were similar to a pork chop. We also tried the beef cheek that was yummy. As per usual, we loved the spicy pork belly! The side options in comparison to other kbbq places were very limited. But there's a VARIETY of ingredients to make sauces exactly how you want them. The dumplings, along with the shumai included in the all you can eat, were great as starters while we waited on the meat to arrive. The desserts were extensive for an all you can eat kbbq. Nice fresh fruit and some ice cream. Overall, would love to give it a few months before returning to let them work out some of the workings of the restaurant. First visit on Valentine's Day and yes crowded but the wait time went fast from 30/35 minutes to about 20 minutes. The set up was interesting with the veggies bar and then sides and sauces stations. The meat and the appetizers options were a good variety. Enjoyed the dumplings and wings of the meats, enjoyed beef bulgogi, spicy pork bulgogi, and Tpot pork roll. Pros: the place is very clean and organized and the service was good. When you walk in there's a self service area with all the toppings, sauces and sides for the hot pot/KBBQ. Each party gets their own booth with proper ventilation. Cons: the marinated meats are overly seasoned. There weren't authentic Korean sides and sauces. Overall, it was okay. read more

Finally got to try this place out. We went on a Tuesday so not busy and were seated immediately. I've had Korean BBQ before but never have done the hot pot. The server knew it was my first time but didn't really explain how it went, I just went off the menu and asked my friends what to do lol I do really like that you can go up to the self serve bar and grab your own sauces/seasonings for the hot pot. Everything I chose ended up tasting amazing! The bbq side was exactly as expected, options were great. I also really liked that they give you an iPad and you can order from that if your server is busy. As soon as we ordered something, a food runner was at the table quickly with what we ordered. They have alcoholic beverages, I personally enjoy a Sapporo beer with my bbq which they had. They also have ice cream for after your meal (if you're not completely full from dinner.) Everything including the bathrooms were clean, they play a variety of music (not just the k pop they always play at other places.) Definitely try them out if you haven't!! read more
