So Sumner didn't tell me that their ovens didn't work when I placed the order, nor when I sat and waited in their restaurant, but NOW they LIED to me about the timing. So we get here around 530 and they are quick to seat us. We get to our table and it has ants all over it to where I have to be asked to be seated some where else. After reading reviews we wanted to like this place so much. Had the alfredo, chicken, bacon, tomato pizza. Toppings were a lil slim and the chicken was some old rotisserie left overs I'm guessing. We love Trackside but definitely feel there is a differnece between Sumner and Puyallup. The service is definitely slower in Sumner, not as attentive. My husband swears their oizza, our typical Grand Trunk, somehow tastes different. I will say that it does seem to take longer for our pizza at Sumner. What I found disappointing today was that we ordered Grand Trunk was that it was missing a couple of ingedients. When I pointed this out which was toward the end of our meal as it took that long to get our server's attention, they offered to provide a dessert free of charge. Which if we had been only halfway through our meal we probably would have accepted. We declined as we were finishing our meal and no offer of discount like 10 or 15% which would have been comparable to the free dessert offer was made. I bought a new Chevy at Sumner and get free oil changes for life while they were changing my oil I needed a place to eat so I swung into Trackside. I had a wonderful first time experience yesterday here and wanted to share. The menu is large with so many tempting items that I ended up sampling three different items albeit in the small version. Their Greek Salad was extremely good. It came with a unique dressing that was also really good. I was surprised at how large their small salad was. For pizza, I ordered two personal sized which is four slices. Their pizza is thick and tasty. I had the A-Line and the Puffingy Billy. Both were delicious to be sure. I used to enjoy this pizza restaurant. The last two times the pizza is way over baked and extremely dark especially an the edges. There were only 4 or 5 people in the restaurant. I just visited the trackside in sumner for lunch with my 4 year old daughter. Let me start off by saying THE ONLY OPTION FOR KIDS AT THIS PLACE IS $10. For 10 bucks they bring your kid a little crust with a bowl of sauce, some cheese and pepperoni. Your kid gets to make a mess, then they cook it for you. She thought this was fun but it cost more than my lunch and I was disappointed that this was your only option for kids. I had the all you can eat lunch. I like to try all you can eat pizza lunches for some variety. This lunch has no variety. They only serve 1. pepperoni, 2. Three meat ( pepperoni and ham, not sure what the third was. Might have been bacon crumbs. ) 3. Ham and pineapple with ranch instead of tomato sauce ( weird ) and 4. Vegetarian. When I asked the waitress if this ever changes, she said no. It's always the same 4 pies. This pizza is very boring and most of the menu looks really over priced. The service was pretty slow and half way through the meal I had to ask for napkins and silverware. The entire staff looked really young and under trained. Probably poor management. I've never been to the one in Puyallup, but I'm not sure why there would be 2 of these over priced restaurants. If you have money to waste this might be okay pizza for take out. I'd definitely recommend this location if you get a thin crust pizza, pasta, or salad. But the pizza is only sub par. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy. Short version of the experience, ordered the pizza at 4:53, order fulfilled at 5:52. Long version...order confirmed and online system says it would be ready in 25 min. I arrive early to pick it up and patiently wait as I know I am early. Customer infront of me has some choice words for some issue with their order as the patron leaves upset with the order. I continue waiting, we are at about the 20 min mark since putting the order in. Someone asks me the name on the order, then apologizes and say it will be 10 min. Husband of the previous patron comes in with the order. Waits his turn and then demands a refund, no idea why but he did say the service was terrible. He gets a refund and the manager or owner tosses the pies in the trash as the patron leaves. Employee apologize, manager/owner says "you did nothing wrong." Grub hub driver comes in and asks about the order for pickup. Manager/owner offers free cookies or brownies instead of a refund if the patron agrees, which they do. I have now been standing the establishment for a good 30 min. The order for Grubhub and some guy who came in 10-15 min after me get their orders. The guy walks past me and remarks how long I have been waiting. Now this place has around 6-8 employees working, because they are also serving patrons inside the establishment so COVID does not seem to be a concern for them. Oh, especially after I saw a patron, who knew the manager/owner, put his hand on her arm as he leaned in to say something to the manager. For keeping distance was not a concern. Thank goodness my pie was in the oven as I watched the manager/owner not wash her hands after being so close to a patron. Finally, I get my order an hour after placing it. Yeah, not going back...this was our their time giving this place a shot and 2/3 have been pretty crappy but this was the worst. Yelp ask us to consider the circumstances with COVID and I would if the establishment was actually following protocols, had a smaller staff to maintain the protocols but as you can see that was not a concern for this business. read more
