Ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup and Basil Seafood entree. Im rating the soup 5 out of 5 stars. It has a perfect balance of lemon grass and basil taste on coconut milk. The basil seafood is 2 out of 5 stars. It had a good mixture and portion of seafood. But it was disappointingly bland. The fish on this dish was fried which did not go well with the dish. I'm a huge fan! I'm so glad to find good Thai food in the Central Valley. I really enjoy their Pad Thai, and their Keaw Waan Koong (green curry), but recently am absolutely obsessed with their Pumpkin Curry. It is creamy with a hint of spice and sweetness from the pumpkin, and includes cubed pumpkin, chicken, and prawns....DIVINE! They have it as part on lunch schedule a couple of times a week which means that it comes with rice...YUM! I came in town right about 3 as everything closed just before the dinner places opened at 5. So this was virtually the only place open at normal hours. From the building it looked like a very nice restaurant- so I didn't think to hard when I saw 10-12 dollar plates. I went for something a little more moderately priced from their curries only to find out it didn't come with rice. Once again, I didn't think too hard about it expecting some real quality stuff. I got my plate, however, & tasted like it was just a hole in the wall cheapo place. Given that I was already feeling sick, it actually made my stomach feel worse & I could only eat about half of just a soup based meal. Totally not worth it. 1 star for ok service (yes, ok I said) + they whined they wouldn't take American express, but then when they took it finally because that's all I had THEY DOUBLE CHARGED ME! I feel so disappointed. I come here whenever I don't want to make my lunch and I'm tired of fast-food for their Oriental Chicken Salad which is usually delicious. This last time it was a definite miss. I ordered by phone my pick up order as usual. They were friendly like always when I went to pick up. It was when I opened it up and began to eat that was disappointing. Seriously they should have never served this to anyone. It looked like an old salad they probably prepared the day before and took out of the fridge to serve the next day. The iceberg lettuce weren't the usual leaves but was shredded lettuce instead, the tomato was old, rubbery and gross, the apples were brown and tasted so gross I couldn't eat them. The only thing good about the salad was the dressing and the chicken was ok. I felt so sad because I was looking forward to the delicious salad they usually give me. I was already home with my baby already sleeping when I opened it so I couldn't go back. I still ate it since I was so hungry because I had skipped breakfast but just took off all the tomatoes and apples to throw away. Some of the lettuce was brown so I had to toss some is that too. The most horrible service I've ever seen. Such an incompetent staff. They charged me $50 for a meal that cost $20 one day, and overdrew my account. It took 5 days for me to get the money back, and I had to pay a $20 overdraft fee as well. The girl felt bad and said she'd pay out of pocket because it was her fault. Even though the whole problem caused a big inconvenience for me, I forgave her and appreciated her saying she'd pay. Oh, but it doesn't end there. The next time I came in, I told the girl before I got seated that everything finally got worked out with the bank, so she wouldn't feel bad about it anymore. I had dinner there, and as I was walking out the door, one of the workers stopped me and had the NERVE to say I had to pay for what happened the last time I came in. I COULDN'T FUCKING BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE. The agreement the girl had with me was that SHE would pay for causing me such an inconvenience that day. NOTHING was said about "paying next time you come in." This was TOTAL BULLSHIT. It's funny how they waited to tell me until after I came in and ordered another dinner, isn't it? So not only did I pay for fucking dinner then, I had to pay for them being idiots last time too. No one I know is going to this place anymore because they're all full of shit. read more

I love Tracy Thai! I always get the Oriental Chicken salad. Especially in the summer when nothing sounds good cause its so hot. Its nice and lite and refreshing when its 90+ degrees outside! Ordered the Broccoli Beef and the Pad Thai for the family to share. The noodles in the Pad Thai were pretty soggy... They seemed to be too soft, making the taste of the noodles wash away in the plate. The meat that was served inside the Pad Thai was a little well done, tough, and difficult to swallow because you had to keep chewing. It was a tough fight. Same with the Broccoli Beef, the meat that was served in this dish was rock solid, well overcooked. While I was waiting with my family, many customers walked in only to grab their takeout. read more

Always been one of our favorite Thai restaurants. Used to eat here at least three times a week or order to go. The servers even know us by name. Just so happens that their servers don't care if you spend hundreds of dollars per month to eat here. Made a simple phone order today, one they are used to hearing multiple times per week. Yet they prepared the wrong dish, and upon going to pick up I notified the server that the order was wrong. She blamed my wife for ordering the wrong kind of chicken around three times, rolled her eyes, said "ugh" and walked away mumbling that it would be ten more minutes. When I said I did not appreciate this attitude considering I am there multiple times per week she demanded I pay the total of $20.45 without so much as an apology for the disrespectful attitude. This is the last time we ever go back. Unfortunately, the food is great and we will miss it. But this is the worst customer service I have seen in a long time, especially for a loyal one. This is a delightful restaurant. The decor highlights a touch of Thailand right here in downtown, metropolitan Tracy! The food is great and the presentation makes you feel like you're dining in a much more expensive, fancy restaurant. The wait staff headed by Gesa tries to be attentive without hovering around you. I've found them unassuming and friendly. They are quick to fill a water goblet or ask if you would like another drink but never make you feel that you have overstayed your welcome. Children can find items like the Chicken Sate that they enjoy and I've watched my own kids and others trying to count the elephants in some of the decorations on the wall! Kid friendly with great food, that's a combination that's hard to beat. Gesa's mom, Nai, is one of the two chefs and the food is varied and flavorful. I would recommend their trout dish to any fish lover it is delightful as is the Seafood Prik Pao. Other favorites of ours are the Pra Ram Chicken and Pineapple Fried Rice. read more

What can I say? I used to eat here once a week; that stopped when I came in with my wife, daughter, sis-in-law and mother-in-law. Food was great, service was great and then we got the bill. Keep in mind my daughter was 3.5yrs old. They added the 18% gratuity because we were a party of 6. In my restaurant experience, if you don't order, you are not considered a liable party. Meaning, you're not liable for the food bill, tips, etc. I was appauled at the greediness of the managment that night. The sad thing is that I've always given them a 20-25% tip. I had to go up to the counter to ask for more water, the gal at the counter actually just turned around and went back to the kitchen area without even acknowledging me! Asked for the restroom and the waitress did not even look at me just waved her hand dismissively as if I were bothering her. Food can be good but crappy service does not cut it in a SERVICE INDUSTRY. We went there on the 15th of July, 2011. My Thai wife thinks that the food is just okay; but I don't. Especially since I have lived in Thailand for many years. The Thai Cafe is better. The problem we both had was the front doors were open when we walked in and stayed open while we were there. The two young ladies working that day gave us the impression they did not want to be there. We ordered are food, which took longer then usual to get it. Once it came, we noticed several flies that tried to land on our food. Though out the whole time we were there we had swat the flies away from are food. Why they would leave the doors open and allow the flies to enter the place I don't know? I can only imagine the amount of flies in the kitchen.
