I havent been to Trader Joes in a while and I was waiting for someone nearby to finish their appointment, so I decided to browse around. When I got here, outside seemed to look like it was a GIANT TRADER JOES store. It was the way the location was set up on the outside. As I walked right in, it was exactly the same size as most Trader Joes I have ever been to. I miss Trader Joes...so why not make a visit. I saw that they were selling Coconut Virgin Oil. This has been discontinued for years. Who knows when they put it back on the shelves. I only recently discovered myself they had it. So I stocked up of course. I use coconut oil for everything. LOVE IT LOVE IT! Trade Joes typically does have their special produce and their delicious goodies. THis location is clean and well maintained. Good customer service and the workers are extremely friendly. I need to make more visits to Trader Joes....I forgot how much I love it. read more

This Trader Joe's is great overall. It's everything you could expect for a Trader Joe's, and has a wide inventory. The only reason I'm not giving it 5/5 stars is because I personally feel a little claustrophobic in this location, and the staff haven't always been the level of friendly and helpful that I expect from Trader Joe's. This store is outstanding in Everyway. The staff there, at amazing like none other... At checkout I was warmly welcomed with such kindness and helping. It was soooo very refreshing. As, I was leaving in their electric cart being a senior with a disability, I was followed out by Joshua and Caitie... They were very kind and helpful.. Beyond the call of their duty, I am thinking. Yet, this was not a deturent. Joshua seeing I was having a problem getting up held out his arm to support me. Helping off the curb to my car with my bag of few groceries in his hand...then, after he helped me into my car he was supported by little Catie... This team of verh Gracious, kind, consideration speaks highly of how valuable Trader Joes values their customers... The outstanding quality of food, and staff is their first priority. Taking away one star because while I absolutely love dogs I'm allergic to them. I can just stand next to them and get pink eye. It's not pretty. I see non-guide dogs in there all the time. I'm not a fan of the prices but I like some of the things they have to offer that I can't find elsewhere. The spicy green sauce and the garlic spread are what I come here for. If I buy something else it's because I'm hungry and making bad decisions. They have a pretty decent selection of vegan meats and cheeses considering how small the store is. I was coming here less and less only to pick up a couple of items. However, after going there today, I will not be going anymore. There is a long line out the door going down to the next store. This is pretty over-reactionary to our current situation and placing extra angst and fear upon people for no reason. If they are really concerned, they should have early shopping for older people or high risk people, not punish us all for something that affects an extreme minority of people. I can already see that push back from mgmt on this post. Something like 'here at Trader Joes' we take the health of our customers very seriously and that's why blah blah blah.' Really enjoy coming to Trader Joes! They have so many great options including organic fruits and veggies! Their to-go section (Salads, sandwiches, etc) are also top notch! I love that their lunch salads are so varied and I can buy 4-5 different kinds for the week and not feel "sick" of the redundancies. Their product prices are bad either! My suggestion for you food lovers is to come on a non-busy weekday because Saturdays and Sundays can get crazy and you may walk out without the needed items (I have had to walk out without blueberries and strawberries because these are popular items). Love their cheese and dairy section. So many different assortments at reasonable prices. Their cereal section is pretty decent as well. I try to stock up on their yogurts for the week as well, they have Trader Joes brand yogurt and Fage Greek Yogurt. All good options. Their usually have a sample or display section in the back with the workers sampling various Trader Joe recipes including soup, quesadillas, salads and other fixings. Frozen section is pretty awesome. I love their single flounder stuffed with crab meat. For $2.99 each, you cant beat the price and the taste! They also have great Indian frozen options since as Chicken Tikka Masala, Mater Paneer and Samosas. My mouth is watering as I speak! Other sweet frozen options that I for include the mochi ice cream and the frozen fruit (frozen blueberries and strawberries). Not going to lie, the mochi ice cream is cheaper at Trader Joes than at the Asian Market. Their coffee and tea options are also fabulous. I love their coffee concentrate. You can take shots of that stuff and it can last you the whole day (or add milk and it will be a nice cold drink option). They have an assortment of teas including my favorites: Chai Mix and Calming Tea. Both very popular in my household. I love getting my nuts here (almonds, pecans, walnuts and even my almond flour). The almond flour is great for cooking and baking at a reasonable price ($4.99 for a huge bag vs. Whole Foods which is double the price). My husband is also a huge fan of the wine selection. He is always spending an extra 10-15 minutes in that section that I do, but he's a wine lover and enjoys looking at the various options at TJs. Great service and friendly workers able to help find what you are looking for. Lines are sometimes long but they keep their check out stands well staffed and you can usually be in an out in no time. With heartfelt gratitude, I felt a shout out is warranted to Trader Joe's Folsom and staff. I was standing in line this morning waiting to go in, face mask, raincoat, et al. Flowers for a senior who had lost her husband to Covid-19 a few days prior was my intent. The widow has no family. As I approached the front of the line and next to be admitted in, I let the clerk managing the front outside know I would not need a cart as I could carry flowers easily. I also shared with her the recipient and reason for the purchase. The clerk then asked me what color flowers I was looking for. She abruptly turned around and disappeared inside for a minute or two. Out she came with the biggest, loveliest bouquet ever! White hydrangeas and pale pink roses. She handed the bouquet to me and said "This is on us." The bouquet so large and grand, I could barely see over the top. My appreciation and gratitude for the generous and kind gesture from Trader Joe's as we support each other through this difficult time is the prize. read more

I would like to commend all the staff and management (Tim) for a job well done! I was in yesterday and was greeted with a smile and a freshly sanitized cart. In these very trying and stressful times I truly appreciate how pleasant the staff was. For many right now an interaction with a grocery store employee might be the only interaction they have all week. TJ's Folsom is making this the best experience possible (other stores should take notes).The store was well stocked and clean. The store was organized with social distancing marks for check out. After leaving and unloading groceries in my car I was met by an employee who wanted to take the cart for me to continue the sanitation cycle. Please keep up the good work! Packed full of goodies!! Trader Joe's always has some good items. Lots of gluten free stuff.They have healthy to really not healthy items so there are plenty of options. They have items you just don't see often are don't think of until you see them here. Great wine and beer selection (even a good gluten free beer) . They are in a pretty busy lot but there is lots of parking. There is a really good butcher shop next door which makes this a good stop to get everything you are looking for. Even a Target near by so you could hit up about everything. The employees are helpful and seem to enjoy their jobs. A good shopping spot. read more

I'm consistently disappointed with Trader Joes' customer service. Coming from Portland, I had thought the aloof, unfriendly employees were just the normal Portland hipsters but from some reason I had the same experience here in Folsom. I don't expect my grocery shopping experience to be warm and cuddly but it would be nice if someone asked me if I needed help now and again as I'm searching for my mochi ice cream and is it too much to ask for if the checkers and baggers acknowledged me? Maybe said "hello", or "thank you"? To top it off, Trader Joe's no longer carries my favorite brand of mochi ice cream. Now it's just some weird dairy free stuff. Trader Joes are very consistent. Clean store, well layed out, very friendly staff. I only wish that they had a face mask rule. They are relying on social distancing, but their aisles aren't big enough for that to be effective. Come on Trader Joes, respect your workers and the bulk of your customers. I love their fresh produce and special groceries with quality ingredients, not the bad mass products you see in other stores. Prices are way cheaper compared to Whole Foods etc. But the staff members are not the most friendly. The week before Christmas they kept selling out of their amazing frozen roasted potatoes and an employee suggested I put some on hold when they get new shipments. I did as he suggested and so glad I did! I called ahead and went to the front desk to pick up. Since I was still shopping, the employee at the front desk said I didn't have to wait and would come find me. Just a couple minutes later, he brought the potatoes to me while I was shopping. I really appreciated the great customer service! I come here once a week and everyone at this location is very friendly and helpful. I shopped at Trader Joe's yesterday and when I put away my groceries I didn't find some ham that I bought, and which was charged on my receipt. So I called the store and spoke with Josh to see if it inadvertently didn't get packed. He told me to come in and they would replace it without any question. Today I found I had put it in the freezer by mistake, so I called the store and spoke with Josh again. This was above and beyond courtesy and customer service, and I wanted to let everyone know what a great store we have, with great people like Josh employed there. read more

Someone needs to have a conversation with Trader Joe's Folsom's management. Anniversary? What's that? Signs? Great specials? Nothing. Had to ask cashier. Reply? Oh, we have a bag in this box behind me for 50 cents, and over there are cans of 50 cent corn... Wow! What deals. My trip and day were really worth it. Next time .. forget it. Trader Joe's, ever since Sprouts opened up a block away, your shine has become very tarnished. Produce quality greatly diminished, and Vegan sausages? Oh, we don't have what we had, but you can still buy the Chorizo and Italian... uhh, like everyone else carries, and if you wanted the regular? Uh, well yah, a good product, but now gone. Three strikes and you're out! not going there again. Third time I have went into this store in Folsom and been double charged for an item! Check your receipts before you leave this store, you might be unpleasantly surprised. . I got a feeling its from bad attitude/vibes I receive from cashier. Worse is when you confront them with their mistake they act like no surprise and even the manager, who has to process the refund, has attitude that radiates, "why are bothering us with this". No apology at all, real A holes! I bet they make more money doing this than just their profit margin, since margins are thin in food. read more

I adore this T.J.'s. Ya dont hate, that's what us in the know call Trader Joe's. First of all it is BIG, (THAT IS WHAT SHE SAID), how refreshing ! A Trader Joe's that is bigger than a thimble and where I dont bump into 75 people just walking down the aisle to get my hummus or my pita chips. The selection is great and the people are as helpful as they are at every Trader Joe's. I was on a quest to make the perfect winter sangria and their wine expert directed me in the right way. BTW two buck Chuck Shiraz is just what you need to complete this tasty beverage. True, this location does get packed but seriously, what Trader Joe's doesnt ? I am giving Trader Joe's one star because of their negligence in protecting their customers from thieves in their stores. Shoplifters know that Trader Joe's stores maintain a passive attitude about security and that they don't believe in cameras in their stores. As a result, one store after another is being infiltrated with criminals making the rounds and lifting women's wallets. Even after they are told, they do nothing about it. I was robbed in the Sunrise Blvd. store on Sunday, and by Thursday, my own mother had the same thing done to her in the Folsom store. Same manager was alerted to both cases and still nothing has been done. Wise up Trader Joes! read more

Size doesn't matter. Okay, well, in some cases. And this TJ's location is one example of that. This store may not be huge, but this locations packs a mean punch. There's great, fresh, healthy selections here that smack down all their local competitors. I can always find great deals on produce here which make my check book and stomach feel triumphant. As always, you all know what's important to me. Duh, it's the customer service! I thoroughly enjoy the employees here. They're always so helpful and a real pleasure to speak to. LOVE LOVE LOVE this store. Everything is priced SO affordably, even less than most conventional grocery stores. Everything is so thoughtfully chosen to be of the best ingredients and flavor. Yesterday I got their Greek salad and it is probably the best salad I have ever had. Everything is so fresh and tasty and I have never purchased anything here that I did not love. Who the heck doesn't love a Trader Joe's?! Although I don't live in the area I was up for some running around and before I headed home I needed a few items. I was pleasantly surprised that I found parking right in front of the store and even if it was full the lot had plenty of room. I was really expecting this TJ's to be packed because it was the night before Thanksgiving and amazingly enough it was busy, but not that bad at all. The store was staffed well because there were helpful little Joes running around everywhere stocking up the shelves. Speaking of stocking the shelves they were not wiped out much like the TJ's closer to home usually is and I was able to find everything I needed. I did find that the wine section was a tiny bit smaller than the norm, but everything else seemed much larger and open. When it was time to check out I also found that the staff was not quite as fast to get other cashiers up when they started getting backed up, and the staff did not respond as quickly. On the flip side the line did move quickly and I was in and out in no time. For a Trader Joe's this one is quite accessible and much better than the average store. If I lived in Folsom this would be my regular store from what I saw. read more

For the third time now, I brought home a jarred product from this store that had been previously opened. This time it is the Trader Joe's Enchilada Sauce, 12oz. bottle. Exasperating, as I was just about to put it, along with three other bottles, in a batch of enchiladas. I've bought this product for years now, usually several bottles at a time, and find the taste and texture to be very good for a bottled sauce. With mold growing happily inside the jar opening, and no seal present, it's hard to say whether it was jarred up incorrectly, or someone opened it, stripped out the seal, took a taste, and screwed it back on, discarding the seal. Either way, as I live several miles from the store, I was left with making an emergency home made sauce. I mentioned two other such instances, and all were from this particular store. One was a jar of marinated red peppers, another was a southwestern corn relish. Both with the mold at the jar mouth. I'll still shop there, but am wary of their glass jarred products. It's a shame to need to actually open a product while standing in a store isle the ensure it's safe for human consumption. read more

You have to be careful buying produce at Trader Joes because it'll only last a few days before it'll go bad. On the plus side, I love their frozen pre-prepared entrees, spinach fettucine, frozen pizzas, and mochi ice cream desserts Also they have a great selection on dried fruit... now the best part: turkey jerky! It's delicious! ALso, great samples in the back.. you get to try something before you buy! The staff is always smiling, friendly, and helpful. Trader Joe's rocks! this is the spot for great wines at reasonable prices. I also love the prepared foods - you can buy a bunch and make your own Dim Sum night. And, they have all kinds of healthy snacks and good organic coffees. Parking here is not as much challenging as it is a competitive sport. This seems to be one of those spots where people are unkind and aggressive. Use caution and be a pal - we're all just here for the asparagus and cheap cabernet. read more

I want to love Trader Joe's and have it be the only grocery store I shop at EVER--but, alas, our relationship is a love/hate one. I'll break it down: Pros: The produce is always nice looking and I kinda do dig how they have it nicely packaged in a typical you can use throughout the week amount... Health-wise--they are on-point! I don't get that same anxious feeling as I get when at another store--i.e. neurotically checking all the labels for all the fructose corn syrup, transfats, msg, etc...basically EVERYTHING here is pre-screened and passes my standards, anyways...Even the processed food seems fairly decent! I can only think of those two pros right now--but those two are HUGE! Cons: Sometimes I think they are a victim of their own success--in that it always seems crowded--no matter when you go and it can be a pain to navigate thru the aisles...this store is small as are most t.j.'s...why?!!! not sure? One of life's mysteries... No CAFE!!! That's the number one reason why this is not my go-to store! Mama needs her sweet nectar of the gods (Iced coffee). They do have those little water cooler sized cups to let you I guess sample? their coffee--anyway, I would need about 12 of those cups to get my fix...(I have issues...I know!) And another con presented itself to me today oh so clearly--my hubby called me and told me to get two things...tin foil and chilli peppers (we were having a bbq). I was next store to TJ's at Freestyle Clothes Store (Love that place--see my review if you don't believe me!!) So, I thought I might try TJs even tho I had a feeling I might strike out--and I did--0-2...no tin foil?! and no peppers--well, only bell peppers and jalapenos...arghh! That happens quite frequently there at TJs--it's hard to get all your shopping done there--they lack on a lot of items and the staples...maybe b/c they don't have the space?! read more
