Trader Joe's staff never fails to meet your expectations. Everyone is so friendly and polite here. This location is not too big in size, easy to navigate from the right side to the left cashier. Love their pet snacks, my cats and dogs love their reliable and healthy treats! The alcohol prices here are the best for wines, liquor. If you were to ask me about my favorite grocery store, it'd be Trader Joe's, hands down. This location near UCI has lots of parking but beware the spots that have a short time limit. I was here originally for brunch next door at Breakfast Republic but I popped into Trader Joe's to pick up a few things I needed for the week. The aisles were laid out differently than my go-to store but I was able to pick up the items I needed. I love the demo station so I always try to walk by it to see what they were offering. The service is always great at Trader Joe's and I enjoy shopping at each location. This location was no different. I like the long concrete switchback to roll my cart down but if I'm not boggled down with huge bags, taking the stairs is just fine. read more

I usually have good customer service at this location but this morning I was disgusted on how 3 really young and immature kids that were checking people out. It was early so not many people in store. I walked to a check stand that the 2 employees were standing around chating and not doing anything. When I approached I let the kid checking know that I only had one bag and anything that does not fit leave in cart, he said ok but continues to talk with the girl bagging. I was not even greeted. The girl bagging, I repeated what I said to the boy and she had already bagged the largest item, Aloe vera juice. When they finished I decided to say something about the terrible way they ignored a customer. The boy was very condescending and the girl was sarcastic so I informed them that since you guys don't care I will talk with the manager. The boy said "go ahead" and the girl said "ok". I did tell management he said he would address it. The fact that they employeed kids like this is very sad. I cannot believe that I was their first or their last that they treated that way. I am older and I do not dress to the nine to grocery shop but if that is the way these kids now a days are gauging on how they treat people then the state of our future is going to be horrible and maybe better off shopping on internet. Customer since 2014. Me and my family frequent here so much that the employees know our names! Organization of items improved tremendously after the remodel. I absolutely love the sample station in the back near the beer. TJ always hooks up free coffee and samples of the newest items. Produce and meat are priced fairly. Definitely try out the great variety of snacks and frozen goods. For lunch you can purchase one of their salads located in the refrigeration section in the back. I love you TJ read more

Wait: Checkout line can get pretty long. This is a smaller location with tons of traffic next to Uci so usually has foot traffic. Service: even though it's busy cashiers are fast nice and helpful!! Food: today I came for the Mother's Days flowers. I know other places like Vons and Albertsons upsell their flowers but a crap ton but Trader Joe's has awesome $5.99 seasonal options as well as $14.99 rose bouquet options that I love. So worth!! Now for food, I'm super loyal to trader joe brand foods. I like that they are portioned smaller for people who don't have a family. I can't always finish the larger sized fruit at other grocery stores. Their own brand of food is always so good! Their unexpected cheddar is literally my favorite cheese. I love Trader Joe's. I think this store is one of the best in Orange County. They're always on restocking and the checkers are quick and efficient. The only thing I don't like is when something is discontinued. Prices have gone up everywhere but I think Trader's is one of the last to star price gauging. My wife and I love Trader Joe's so much, we will never live far from one. I'll never forget when I first moved to CA. I had to walk here from temporary housing, and this location was the first CA Trader Joe's that I had ever visited. Immediately, the liquor aisle grabbed my attention, and I had to call my friend back in PA to tell him about my incredible discovery (they don't sell alcohol in the PA stores). Surely, you're not learning about Trader Joe's from my Yelp review. Suffice it to say that they have a brand of grocery items that are made for them by third-party manufacturers. They then sell these items at quite reasonable prices, and they are usually of high quality. You probably can't do all of your food shopping here, but you'll soon find that you can't live without your favorite products. I used to have a cool hemp shopping bag with long handles that I could sling over my shoulder. I once left this TJ's having bought a couple of bottles of wine and tripped, sending my bag of groceries to the ground. Crash! My wine bottles broke. An employee quickly replaced them for me for free. That's the kind of service that you get here at TJ's. Oh, yeah, parking here can be tricky. It's probably best to come after 5 pm or on weekends. Great organic food I love their marinaded meets, wine and cheese selections. The skinless salmon is very fresh and literally melts in your mouth. The sourdough bread is the best in town. When I was still a UCI student, this was my to-go TJ. I really like the floral section at this particular Trader Joe's. There's something about the outside walkway full of plants and flowers that make it extra attractive. I also like that it has designated parking spots just for TJ shoppers because parking can get crazy during lunch and dinner. The employees have always been nice enough, but I understand if they're not maximum friendliness when the lines get super long and full of customers shopping during their lunch breaks. The bakery section is pretty small which is a disappointment. But at least the snacks above the frozen goods and in the snack aisle are always bountiful. I usually don't get anything other than flowers and snacks to be honest. Anyway, it's nice to have a Trader Joe's among all the restaurants, so you can get a bite to eat/drink and do your shopping in one go. read more

A couple months ago I came in on the edge of tears because I just broke up with my fiancé and the girl at the register asked how I was. This is thee place to go to fine the healthy choice foods. I love their choices of Chinese frozen foods and always get Orange Chicken, Broccoli Beef, and Kung Pow Chicken. For ready made lunch, I keep it simple with a large Bean Burrito with a Santa Fe salad costing about $6-$7. Prices are comparable to other healthy choice grocery stores, but with more selection and reputation for putting out only the best. read more

This is not a very safe brand no matter what location. Once I found paint in a salad item at a UCI location. I made a complaint. Again the question if hygiene comes up with their product. I just recently had to return the eggplant item purchased at the Walnut location. I'm very hesitant with Trader Joe's brand now. Not to mention the quality goes down with the Italian sausage. A convenient little neighborhood Trader Joe's that has a great selection of grocery goods and even household products. Despite being much smaller than your average Joe (pun intended), the variety of products here pretty much cover the entire spectrum of whatever you'd need and would expect to find, all at super reasonable prices! Great location with plenty of parking. It is near many apartments and housing communities so it can be a quick 5-15min walk depending on where you live. Always have a ton of fresh produce and quality meats at reasonable prices! Do be aware that not every is of great value. I believe bananas are sold per banana and not by the lb. Also, one can definitely find cheaper meat at other grocery stores, but the quality is up for you to decide. I personally love buying the products that they make, like cereal, frozen foods, breads, and juices. read more

I love TJ !!! This place is convenient for me to shop at whenever I'm in the UCI area. 20 years ago I wished it was here when I had a couple classes at UCI, now it's here. I prefer the fruits/veggies at TJ, because they are usually picked closed to ripe state, and will go bad in a few days. That means there's very little to no edible coatings on the fruits and veggies to extend shelf life. I don't trust those chemical sprays. Fruits and veggies from Whole Foods are usually GMO seeds grown organically. And the water that they spray on veggies at Whole Foods is toxic to me - it definitely has some chemicals in that water because I always cough and sneeze whenever I'm in Whole Foods produce area. That has not happened here at TJ. Avoiding chemicals, preservatives, artificial everything is critical to kidney patients. So hurray for TJ !!! read more

This review is my thank you note to the amazing crew members at this particular TJ for helping me after I accidentally dropped my bag of grocery with a tomato sauce after walking out of the store. I didn't know what to do, except I didn't want the sauce getting onto my car. So I walked back into the store and asked if I could buy a paper bag to put my grocery bag with the tomato sauce in it so I can clean it up after I get home. A crew member heard my request and looked into my bag and immediately signaled another crew member to grab a new tomato sauce and a bag of apple (that was also in the same bag and now covered in tomato sauce). Then, the crew member said to me, "are you sure you want to keep this bag?" I told him, I can go home and clean it up. He said, "it's covered in glass now and I don't want you to hurt yourself. Tell you what, let me trade you. Let's go pick out a new TJ bag for you." The other crew member came back with the new tomato sauce and apples, and put it in the new TJ bag that I just picked out. I was so overwhelmed with kindness and was also speechless by the way these two crew members helped me. I hope they know how much their gestures meant to me that day. There is so much kindness in this world and I want to say thank you so much to the crew members at this TJ for making my day! read more

I was glad to see that their skincare and haircare section was bigger than my local Trader Joe's. This is a good place to get the large bottle of Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Soap, which was missing at the Mission Viejo TJ's when Tom T. and I went. This location also seemed to have more selections of produce, including eggplant. The usual items I see at other locations are there: sourdough and other types of bread, a well stocked dairy and frozen section. By the way, the garlic naan in the frozen section is very good. The dried mangoes are a tasty snack. The cashiers I've had here were pleasant. read more

Thank goodness there's a grocery store that's closer than Albertson's! Saves me from driving about 5 minutes; 10 minutes in traffic. This place has awesome deals for college students, especially a small corner in the back area that's made specifically to help college students save money on lunches. Quality is just OK, but considering the items, it's not bad! They've got sushi rolls, salads, wraps, etc for under $5! Oh, and they've got huge water bottles (50.7 fl oz) near the cash registers, for only $0.50! You can't find deals like that at Albertson's! Another thing that's great is the price for their breads, cereals, and granola bars. They've always got breads that are less than $3, and their cereals are pretty well-priced, even if those cereals are much more expensive in other grocery stores. I'd say that, surprisingly, this Trader Joe's can be any college students' perfect place for a snack, grocery store run, or lunch stop. What I also love about this place is their raffles that they have every now and then. Just bring your reusable grocery bags to the store, use it for your items, then tell the people at the cash register that you're using a reusable bag and would like a raffle ticket. You can then enter a raffle for some stuff! It's fun! Check this place out if you're in the area! Parking is a bit difficult, though, in the afternoon. read more

My new favorite finds this month: Pickle flavored popcorn & lime tea cookies, mmm! Conveniently located in the University Town Center just across the bridge from UCI. Gets really crowded during lunch time and after 5PM when everyone gets off of work. Everything here is usually always stocked. The wine selection is great, but the beer selection is a little bit smaller than the one on Walnut. Brie cheese here is at least $5-10 cheaper than at Ralphs! I would recommend getting any thing related to Charcuterie here. I absolutely love the frozen section for quick eats such as salmon burger patties, orange chicken, or the salsa verde burrito. Perfect for any college student or worker on the go. My favorite thing to actually make from here is the Spicy Sausage and Kale soup: Mirepoix, spicy sausage, kale, chicken stock - voila! (Well plus some seasonings). Perfect for any winter day to share with your friends. Workers are friendly and always provide a helping hand when asked questions.
