HORRIBLE experience at this location! The last 3 consecutive visits, they've been out of basic items that they normally carry. The first time they were out of lemons. Yes, OUT OF LEMONS!! Second visit, no persian cucumbers, no individual shallots - only consumer packs. I was told "our warehouse keeps shorting us." Sounds more like a problem with whoever is doing the ordering to me; because I don't have this problem at other local TJ locations. Third visit, no Israeli couscous. I'm highly disappointed that I'm now stuck with this location as my local TJ's. Guess I'll have to remember to do my grocery shopping right after work when I'm still in Bellevue rather than after my workout in Kirkland. Hard pass on this location whenever possible!! read more

This Trader Joes location is spacious and easy to navigate through, plus the staff is always super friendly. Parking at this shopping center can be a nightmare, so if I need to go to a TJs during busy hours, I'll usually go to a different location because of parking. read more

I LOVE TRADER JOE'S SO SO SO SO SO MUCH. No, that is not an exaggeration, I truly love this amazing grocery chain to the moon and back. I'm so sad that by living in Canada I am deprived from my TJ needs on the daily, but thankfully I'm only a 35 minute drive from the border and can stock up on TJ goodies whenever my heart desires. I was in Seattle this past weekend for work and since I was driving down, I made it a priority to pay a visit to TJ's and stock up on some necessary goodies. This particular TJ is located in a strip mall next to other heavy hitter grocery chain, Whole Foods, so I'm sure there is some friendly competition between the two. However, since I can get Whole Foods back home, my heart really does lay with TJ. A couple of my fave TJ items: + Cookie Butter + Mediterranean Hummus + Spicy, Smoky, Peach Salsa + Soy Chorizo + Qunioa & Black Bean Tortilla Chips + Nacho Cheese Tortilla Cheese + Blueberry Chevre Cheese And that's just what I can think of from the top of my head! Besides having some of my fave grocery list items of all time, TJ has some of the most friendly staff members that I've met at a grocery store. I always seem to have great conversation with the cashiers on my way out and they have always been super friendly. Bonus points! Hurry up TJ, and open up a location in Vancouver already. This location is PACKED in the midst of COVID. I usually avoid Totem Lake because of the parking lot but was in the area today and regret shopping here. I absolutely love this place. You can expect really great cashiers, somewhat inexpensive food, and some really unique stuff -- especially in the frozen section. I really love the frozen chicken tacos, any of their chips, their salsa. What really keeps me coming back, though, is their meat and produce. It is always really good quality and fresh. I just have never had great luck on the whole at Fred Meyer, QFC, or Safeway. The organic/grass-fed ground beef is especially great. One thing that is kind of surprising is their cheese section. The grated Pecorino Romano is a staple in my house - and the triple cream brie is a once-in-a-while treat.. There are a few things that you just can't get here. For example, I don't think they sell Chili Powder in their spice section and most name-brand stuff won't be found, so I often have to go to multiple stores, but whatever. read more

With COVID19, all stores are limiting entrance. I waited maybe 5-7 minutes before I was allowed in. I was able to find everything I was looking for - the shelves were not raided like many of the other stores. In check out line, 2 lovely ladies greeted me and asked how I was doing with all the recent shut downs. How was schooling my kids at home? Did I still have to work? I commented that it has been stressful - I'm a teacher, so I'm teaching online classes AND home-schooling 3 of my 4 kids (#1, my oldest) lives in Boise. They were very empathetic and offered me a bouquet of flowers - COMPLIMENTARY! Just to brighten my day. I don't get emotional easily, but I just started crying. Thank TJ's for being there for the community and for being so compassionate and caring to your customers. I'm glad you are my #1 grocery stop! read more

Won't be shopping here any longer. Third person in line and it took over 30 minutes to check out. They allow people to park their carts in line and continue shopping while their carts are rung through. One lady took almost 20 minutes because every time they emptied her cart she came back with more items and would leave again. Meanwhile everyone else is forced to stand in line in an area where social distancing isn't possible because all of the other shoppers are weaving around those of us waiting to check out. I feel it's a smaller trader joe's in comparison to others that I have been to. However, it's still awesome. The cashiers seemed nice and affable. The other staff, not so much. I was trying to get to some cookies that were above the frozen food section and they were putting some stuff away and a cart was blocking my way; there were three crew members doing this and they continued their nonprofessional conversation, and still blocked my way. I'll always shop here. They have organic or non organic selections. The staff are so cool and friendly. They have a policy of "if you buy/try something" and don't like it they will refund your money, no questions asked. That is cool. We love Trader Joe's or should I say I do and my boys come along because they love me. We visit Seattle and Redmond each year and when we do we go crazy at TJ's and load up on a bunch of things to bring home to Canada. We don't have one here so I stockpile Crunchy Speculoos, Joe Joe's, potatoe fries (ketchup flavour), Scandinavian Swimmers, and so much more. The staff are always friendly and I love how they will open up something for you to try. Seasonal items are a hot and miss and because we come in the summer/early fall, we miss the holiday goodies. read more

Plus Nordstrom Rack is next door, a little dangerous but in a great way. The store is always clean, great set up and selection. Employee's are always very friendly and helpful. Indicated by my last review, 7 stars in terms of the product options and paying there people a living wage. !-However- honestly-! Unlike many of the other reviewers I differ on their opinion concerning ("friendly staff"etc) I have had several negative experiences with in several months with "people""Hawaiian T-shirts")(I am being gentle) to put it politely at this location. Totem lake Trader Joe's on multiple instances (collectively) has problems with rudeness plan and simple period. As a customer from an evolved perspective this leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm a fan of Trader Joe's but not of the patrons, lol! I love the store, they have a great variety and pretty good deals. They have a lot of organic and natural products at decent prices as well. It's a small store but they have pretty much everything I have ever needed. I really like their packaged marinated steaks but I do wish they were grass fed as I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible. The staff has always been friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The only real problem I have with this place at all is the customers that frequent this place. I'm not sure why but most of them are very rude and self centered. They will run you over and not even say sorry, they have no manners and don't seem to care, which is annoying. I'll still shop here when I need something after going to the gym, which is just across the street. Just be forewarned that if you shop here watch out for the rude and annoying customers, me not included. :P read more

After discovering they were out of them completely and not getting any more in (it was a seasonal item) he went and got the one he had put on hold for himself! Upgrading my local TJ's to a 5-star rating for the following reasons: - The store, wine and produce sections are always well put together, clean and organized. - Great selection of local and world wines, especially for their limited space. I can get anything from 3 buck Chuck to Vinho Verde, and plenty of smooth Pinot Noirs with various price points. - LOVE the staff here, always helpful, smiling and engaging - Specialty meats, cheeses and frozen foods at reasonable prices, if you are hosting a cocktail party, go here! - Way better bang for your buck than Safeway or QFC and PCC. - Lots of organic options - Plethora of tasty frozen items and sweet treats. TJ's doesn't really have a deli or a great selection of already made food (if compared to Metropolitan Market, Whole Foods or PCC), BUT they got you covered on everything else. I always walk out with at least 4-6 loaded bags of food and wine for around $100. read more

If you're heading north on 405 it's an easy stop, but going the other way be prepared to fight the gigantic clusterfuck that is Totem Lake. Whoever designed that interchange really should be shot. Of all the vacant store space *just* in this "mall" area alone, they choose the small former auto parts store in the tightest corner of the parking lot. Really!?! WHY? I was never drawn to Trader Joe's.. I think it's the lighting or something-- the place is just not particularly inviting when compared to places such as Whole Foods or New Seasons (Oregon), but I moved to Kirkland recently and stopped by because it is right around the corner from where I live. I absolutely fell in LOVE!! The first time I went in, my phone, which had my chili recipe, died. I looked for a packet of chili seasoning, hoping to find a recipe on the back, but no luck. The workers there looked up a recipe and gathered the ingredients for me like they were shopping for themselves. INCREDIBLE SERVICE. Another time I went, I pointed to the cookie butter chocolate cups and said to my boyfriend, "Does that sound amazing? Should we get it?" An employee overheard and says, "Youuuu wanna try them?" "UHM, YES PLEASE!" Yesterday I went in with a massive craving for chocolate. lol I went in and looked in the check-out area for chocolate and told the cashier I what I was looking for. She took it upon herself to give me a tour of their aisle with all of the chocolate goodies. She pointed out her favorites and described a bunch to me. I doubt I would come here for my regular weekly (or bi-monthly, whatever) grocery trip ever...even if I lived on top of Trader Joe's. They fill a niche and they fill it well - organic, healthy, unique stuff is what you're going to find here. International wine selection is decent, local wine selection is lacking. Hardly convienent unless you work at Evergreen Hospital. Pocket-sized store, so when it's busy it's CROWDED. And ugly. Tip: if you're coming from the north, say right by Evergreen Hospital, avoid that second driveway pulling in (or exiting!) the parking lot. It's got a nasty dip that's scraped some car bumpers. The other entrances seem a little less steep. Overall, a good place to go if you're looking for something a little special. I'll admit, I'm not a fan of the Eastside AT ALL. I really try to stay away from it. Not that there's anything WRONG with the other side of the lake, it's just not really my style. With that being said, my boyfriend (now-husband) lived close to this TJ's. We shopped there often and I SWEAR the rudest people seem to shop at this locale. It always took every ounce of energy to not scream, "Do you REALLY need to get to the dried fruit section SO badly that you will bang my cart, mutter expletives under your breath, and screw your face into the biggest frown imaginable?" (BTW, I hear your face will stay that way) Great products. Great prices. But go when it's really late or early in the day, take a sedative, or just go to the one on Queen Anne and save your sanity. read more

This is apparently the busiest Trader Joes in Washington State. That's not too surprising - it is very convenient if you are communing on I-405 Northbound. There is plenty of parking, as they're one of the few tenants on their side of the strip mall ("The landlord's loss is your gain!") Of course, anyone who has been to TJs can talk about the great selection of cheese, wine, chocolates, etc. at reasonable prices. The main thing to keep in mind is that TJs tends to drop low-selling items out of their stores, so if you like something, you may want to buy a lot of it, especially if it looks like you are the only one buying it. My favorite funny story about this store is all the people asking about whether they had fresh turkeys the evening before Thanksgiving. The employees were very polite. Edit: If you are sick, as in the flu season in which I write this addendum, get Dynamo. It's a mix of white grape, pineapple, orange, apple and some lemon juice (much tastier than it sounds - it tastes more like an orange-pineapple juice mix), plus vitamin C, A, etc. There's even one with calcium. The store has its funky array of wonderful food at cheap prices, including goat milk, huge chocolate bars, pasta stuff, soap... vitamins... flowers... it's pretty hard to go wrong, really. This location always seems to be the busiest. It doesn't matter what time of day you go. It's going to be busy. The parking lot is just as big a madhouse as the inside. I wouldn't recommend taking a cart in unless you absolutely HAVE to. There are about 3-4 aisle & that's it. Trying to squeeze a couple carts in there will cause a aisle-clog. They have good ready-to-eat salads if you're going there to find some lunch. read more

Most of the stores are similar so, I won't go too much into the specifics. I just love Trader Joe's. They have tons of great items; they are geared more for the healthy; they are also sold at decent prices. Case in point, they had a 6-pack of plainly white beer for 2.99! It might not have been the best, but it was certainly decent, and even tasted better when you thought of the price tag. They also have really great produce. They have unique items. I especially love their dried fruits. I could easily go broke and weigh myself down when traveling the aisles here. Hmmm...maybe it's good that there isn't one nearby. Whatever!
