I've been to this Fred Meyer multiple times, and I always enjoy coming here. The store itself is gigantic, you can find everything from clothing to fresh fruits, veggies, snacks, and so much more. A lot of items are usually on sale, which I love. They always have great deals like "buy two, get one free," and their fruit selection is especially my favorite. They even have a Starbucks inside! The staff is really friendly, and I like that they offer multiple checkout stations. There are two different entrances, and both sides have checkout lanes, plus self-checkout options. This store has changed a lot. It is obvious they hired more employees and as a result, their customer service improved tremendously. The prices have also come down a lot. This store is consistently must cheaper with fresher produce than Safeway. Terri K. in women's apparel at Fred Meyer in Kirkland on 100th went above and beyond to help me. She kindly and professionally located an item I was searching for, and even after I left the store, she graciously took my calls twice and held the items for me. Her exceptional service and genuine kindness made my shopping experience a pleasure. Greg, the really tall guy in produce always helps me pick out the tastiest and most ripe produce. I have learned so much from his lessons on how to pick just the right piece of produce! I also want to give a shout-out to the amazing staff at this Fred Meyer, especially the wonderful women I see a couple of times a week in customer service and self-checkout. I am an avid black Friday shopper and have shopped for years at the Redmond location. I was disappointed in the lack of friendliness from employees, and honestly the way the store is played out is not intuitive. Nevertheless, I was able to buy my 50% socks for my family as usual. I like this, Freddy's. It being my favorite Supermarket on the West coast, this one's got the one two punch of the actual grocery, and the fuel station right next to it. The rewards I accrue from shopping here go right into that which saves me money and is convenient. This particular Fred Meyer is a little better laid out than the usual one I go to, it looks a bit newer too. The produce and sushi and Deli department are all on the left as you walk in and you make your way right. The aisles are slightly wider here I feel and there is always a couple people manning the non-self-checkouts which is nice. Whomever is in charge of setting up the displays does a good job here. The products really jump out even if it's something I'm not interested in. The only thing is the aisle signs miss somethings. For example, I was looking for honey, none of aisles say "honey", but I finally found it in the "Jelly" aisle. Also the managers special rack is always disappointing here. My main Fred Meyer and even the QFC's I visit have netted me some good marked down stuff. This one is yet to do that. Still, this is a well-placed Fred Meyer that I like to hit before heading back from work and need to fuel up. read more

No Easter baskets the night before Easter. I had to get cleaning buckets. Almost no candy. Cue the chocolate SpongeBob. Everything I needed tonight was in Freddy Jail. Locks on so many products! But the real bummer was NO CHECKERS at 9 pm. I have 25 people coming to my house for Easter and a full cart. Going through self check took me 35 minutes and the machine kept asking for the attendant to help. Not to mention the angry line behind me. Bad form Fred's. What should have been a 30 minute experience turned into 1.5 hours. Only gave 2 stars for the nice checker. read more

The marked prices do not match what you are charged at checkout. This constantly happens at this Fred Meyer. In fact, if you point out and show them the lower physically marked price, compared to the price at the register, they just want to argue. Super great location! I am a fan of the clothing and shoes section here with all the great clearance, sale, and marked down items! I found a super cute hat that was on clearance for $8 but at checkout when rang in by the cashier it was only $2! Love that! Staff here is friendly and keeps the store stocked and clean. I havent had to stand in line to correct pricing errors in a long time. They did away with the BuyXGetX sales where u had to buy in precise multiples, making it much easier. This store is still a disaster layout wise it was so much better pre-remodel. Kroger, despite the corporate double-speak about being environmentally friendly, continues to push and promote items wrapped in single-use earth killing plastic. So we'll leave it at 3 stars. Hey, just wanted to share a not-so-great experience I had at your store today. Started off fine at the pumps, filled up the tank, and headed in to do some shopping. Now, I'm not usually one to complain, but after a few things happened, I figured it was worth mentioning. First off, I was trying to grab something from the locked liquor cabinets and hit the call button. An employee walked right past us, turned off the button, and didn't say a single word. No "be right with you," no "what can I help you find?" Nothing. I told them what I wanted, they grabbed the last one, and then when I asked for a second item, all I got was a curt "What size?" Since I don't shop there often, I had no clue about the drill for these locked items - do I pick it up at checkout, does it get a sticker, do I pay somewhere special? I asked, and again, silence. Turns out there's a checkout cubby around the corner where you pay on the spot. They just set it down and walked off. Then they grabbed a wine tote, put my bottle in it, and just...stared. I got my wallet out, waiting for the next step, and they asked for my ID. Handed it over (it's in one of those security envelopes), they swiped it, and gave it back without a word. Swiped my card, they put my purchase in my cart, and poof - gone. Seriously bad vibes and just plain rude. Then, the checkout experience. The last time I was in, some random employee in a red vest basically hijacked my cart and dragged me to self-checkout, acting like they were doing me a huge favor by "training" me. I actively avoid self-checkout because, well, I'm not the cashier, the scanners are always wonky, and there's never anyone around to help. This time, I actually got in a regular line - I was next, with three employees nearby (two in red vests). They just stood there, not even starting to bag. When the cashier finished with the person ahead of me, they left, and I moved forward. Then, the employee at the end of the counter (not bagging, mind you) aggressively shoved my cart to the side without saying a thing. I asked what was up, and got an irritated, "She's stepping out." Turns out "Mr. Personality" was back from break, replacing the original cashier. Honestly, after all the rude treatment, zero communication, and aggressive behavior, I just clammed up. They wanted my phone number, my ID again, and then just stood there when they were done. The whole vibe with customer interactions in your store is just awful. Honestly, it feels like it might be a top-down issue, with no one really prioritizing customer service or correcting these kinds of actions. I get it, retail is tough and often thankless - I've been there myself. But the service I experienced today was beyond the pale. If some of your employees genuinely dislike their jobs, customers, or the public in general, they'd be doing everyone a favor by finding a different line of work. If my employees treated my guests like that, I'd be mortified. Just my two cents. Hope things can improve. read more

Our family shops here regularly, and we've been happy with the prices and selection. I do appreciate the beat-up fruits bin (behind the bananas) because I can buy overripe or dinged up bananas for baking or smoothies. The store also sells close to expiration fresh foods (mushrooms, salads, pre-packaged veggies, baked goods, etc) at a discount. The discounted bins by the freezer aisle is also fun to check out. The costs for basic produce like eggs and milk (regular and soy) are a bit cheaper than Safeway and Whole Foods, which I appreciate. The store also has a nice garden section in the back, a large section for toys, some hardware and camp items, clothing, shoes, and a decent section for bedding, cooking appliances, and even picture frames to school supplies. ran in for an early morning purchase...socks. I was traveling and decided to go for a hike in this beautiful lush green environment but didn't have the proper socks...ran in, 9. am, and it was like a ghost town trying to find someone to guide me to the right area..and this place is so large, I spent far more time than I wanted just trying to find where the area for socks ....when I found it on my own, I passed another item I wanted to purchase but it was locked up, anti theft device, and there was no one even in the vicinity to help me.. So needless to say I didn't run around trying to find anyone since they all seemed busy stacking shelves so far away and it was very apparent that the few people I saw..far far away, were assigned to specific departments and tasks...when I saw they had a good number of self check-outs I realized that they most likely were understaffed, assuming that because they have the self-checkouts additional staff wasn't needed..but what FM may not realize is that the staff that works the cash registers also assist customers find things..sadly there were no cashiers to find..not a place that one can get in and out of quickly..even though they do seem to have a large variety of products..probably a competitor to Walmart. read more

This location also has a garden center, full jewelry store, Starbucks, pharmacy, and Chase bank. This location was remodeled several years ago and continues to feel modern. Overall, their prices tend to be reasonable. The clothing and shoes are predominantly brand name vs. house brand, i.e. Target. Though they are now part of Kroger, they still have a local vibe. Be sure to use their app for digital coupons and limited days special items. Those tends to be the best discounts. The app also offers occasional free Friday items. read more

I was met with enormous sighs of annoyance when I asked them to double check if I was understanding what I had been charged. I had to run all over the store taking pics of their posted sales. After explaining in detail to one employee, she handed me off to "removed" (written on his name tag), and had to explain all over again. This process took 30 minutes for him to follow and refund my money to more sighs. At no time did anyone say "sorry" for the mistake or the inconvenience, nor did they seem concerned that the $6.99 cheddar was ringing up at $16.99. read more

TLDR: typical local grocer/retailer. Crowded on weekends. Overall a nice one-stop shop for household items and food. Currently in the process of remodeling so the interior walls and flooring look a bit drab at the moment (as of 7/2020). Private lot parking, plenty of spots if you're willing to walk. Deli food is better than Safeway's in my honest opinion. The bakery section is nice but I do wish that they had those individual slices of cake. We have been using curbside pickup periodically during the pandemic and this service at Fred Meyer is definitely our preference over other grocery stores. The inventory is extensive with most grocery, home, and office items available. Clothing is a little more sparse. Options for alcohol purchase, ID checked upon pick up. Arriving at the pickup location, there are spots designated for pickups. The signs indicating where to find these are small and easy to miss - but at the totem lake location, the location is right in front of the garden center. Upon pick up, text your stall number and wait for your groceries. this normally takes a few minutes. You will have the opportunity to review substitutions (and typically, there are several). Once these are approved, your agent loads groceries into your trunk and off you go! Easy peasy. read more

I live near several other Fred Meyers who have broken carts, or ones not charged up or available. I am so thrilled this great Fred Meyer always has a cart I can use, ready to go! Store is beautiful, well laid out, great produce. I love Fred Meyer's sales. I also love that I not only get groceries, but I can get kitchen and cookware, plants, hardware, clothing, jewelry and more here. True one stop shopping. The 2nd incident happened on August 12th, 3 days ago. The same situation, after I checked my receipt, I saw that grapes I bought twice as expensive than on the price tag. I came to a lady, Irrisa, who stands near entrance/exit & greeting people. I explained her the situation. She reluctantly (in spite of the fact the grape's counter in couple of feet from the place she was) looked with me at the price tag, saw that I was right & sent me to Customer Service department. I told her, "Could you please, go with me to confirm about this price because couple of months ago, I had an incident with one of the employees, who worked there & I don't want to repeat such experience?" Irrisa, again, even more reluctantly went with me. Of course, Mendy, was there. I politely told Irrisa, "This is that employee. Please, don't waste your time explaining the problem. Can you call your Manager? Because I don't want to deal with this employee." Irrisa statred to be rude with me, "I need to tell her first!" I was really tired from such customer service & started to video record this conversation on my cell because at this time I definitely wanted to post my review. I know that it's legal to do recording in public areas. So, Irrisa was continuing to be rude with me, Mendy started hysterically yelling that I'm recording & run away. I'm telling you, something is wrong with this woman. Because of Mendy yelling 2 more employees came: Carrie, Apparel leader, & Monica, Assistant Store leader. So, again nobody even called a Manager of this Department. Again nobody told me, "Hi! How ca I help you?" Nobody introduced themselves to me. I had to write down all their names. And Monica with sarcasm told me, "Do you want me to spell it to you?" when I was writing it. Nobody even listened to me, their customer, first. They surrounded me as a criminal, and were listening Irrisa, looking at me as I stole something in this store! Is it a normal customer service? When Irrisa finished, Carrie very rude told me, "If you record, I' m going to call the cops!" I replied, "First of all, I'm allowed to record here because it's public area. Second of all, why haven't you even listened my side of the story yet?" I started to tell them everything, including my 1st episode with Mendy, but they didn't show any attention. I still felt as a convicted in prison, not a customer in a store! I told, "You should first of all refund me money for this wrong price & after all this happening I even deserve some sort of compensation. And you need to give me an email or link where I can file my complaint." Carrie very rude replied me, "I'm not going you to give you any compensation!" Monica also rude told me, "We are not giving you anything for complaint!" Then, when I started to write down thier names, they did give me a refund. But they didn't even know how to do it by themselves at the computer. What leaders are they? So, they called Thomas, who gave me a refund, but of course when I asked him about my 1st incident with Mendy and if I could see if my previous complaint had gone to her records, as he had promised me. Thomas told me that he had no idea what I was talking about. Then, after I again insisted to give me some email for complaint, Monica gave me your card with this email address. Then she lied to me that there is a link for review in my receipt. There is no link on the receipt to post a review. IT'S ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE HOW I WAS TREATED BY THESE EMPLOYEES! It was absolutely inappropriate and unprofessional. I was supposed to get a refund, sincerely apologies and even compensation within 5 minutes! In stead of it, I was humiliated by these employees in front of the store. They delt with me as I was a recidivist thief. I'm sure police behave with such people more politely than your employees with me. And the most interesting that next day I stopped to see if at least a price tag for this grape was changed. No. Besides, all these employees have no idea how to provide customer service, they don't even do their job. So, Ladies and Gentlemen, always check prices at the register before you paid and ask employees, who worked at the register (till) areas to correct it. Because after you pay, you'll be sent to Customer Service department. And if it's Mendy's shift, you'll be treated with such rude, you can't even imagine. It'll be good if she doesn't hurt you! And then, if you request to speak with Manager, you'll be humiliated with the employees, who even don't work at this department of the store. I'm always convinced that fish rotts from the head. If such employees work at this store, a owner pays nothing to hire good and experience people and keep a great team. So, there is QFS one minute away, Safeway is 3 min away with much better quality of product. Why did I spend so many years at this Fred Myer? They also stock a blend of budget priced items, along with higher end foods. You can get gourmet cheeses, dry aged beef and some wine to go with it. Or stick with Cheetos and beer. As you like. What you need to know is that this a Fred Meyer, a local place that people here generally adore, like Dick's Drive-in and QFC... This is literally a place that we locals have grew up around, and it has generally everything you might ever want to ask for. It's clean, the aisles are wide, lots of food stuffs, and it's really never that busy when I'm there. I'm also there at 9pm, after work and the gym.. So why does this one get a good score? Because they have just about everything, and they are seasonal. Spring time? Their garden section is popping. Winter? They have shovels, salt and de-icer. Now that everyone is on a "natural, organic, vegan, gluton-free.. whatever it is" they have that too! I usually head to the grocery section is pretty large, and the food there is generally ripe, lots of assortments and very seasonal fruits and veggies. It's been a while since I visited this store. Since my last visit, this store did a remodel. There isn't that side entrance to the store that there once was. The new store layout makes it look like the Issaquah location, though I am not loving this new transformation. The grocery section of the store just doesn't quite make sense to me in how they set it up. The perimeter of the grocery area which includes the deli, bakery, meat and seafood sections are fine. But it is just weird to see an aisle of paper plates and other similar items mixed with food products. It should one thing or the other. As a first time shopper after the remodel, I found it to be quite confusing. I am a fan of Fred Meyer as they offer products at great prices. Usually better than QFC and Safeway. Though beware of their fish products. Generally they are reasonably priced, though most of it is previously frozen. As a result, when I open up the package at home they tend to be wet of fishy water. If you can, have them place the fish in a produce bag after it is weighed for less of a mess when opening. I like Fred Meyer, but not so much this store. I will stick with the Bellevue and Redmond locations for my grocery needs. read more

I met Ashley when she opened up the garden department for me after it was closed for the day. She did not have to do that, yet she did. She was extremely kind and patient, giving me all the time I needed to gather up the items to make my purchase. She has helped me many, many times on my excursions to Fred Meyers in Kirkland. Ashley is extremely knowledgeable about all the different areas in all the different departments throughout the entire store, Home, Garden, and Food. I don't know if she's in management, and if so, what level, I only know she always has all the answers! I hope Fred Meyer realizes how valuable she is at the store level and doesn't let her get away! Once again I just ended dropping my groceries and leaving without checking out. This store has the most poorly designed checkout process. They never have all of the self checkouts open, they only ever have one cashier working the south exit and only ever a couple of cashier at the main checkouts. Stood in line for 20 minutes trying to use a self checkout but because they have no clearly defined queue people just kept creating new lines or cutting in front of everyone already in line. First time using Totem Lake Fred Meyers "order online and pickup - it's so easy! Just shop online, drive to the location and voila! Your fairy God-father Fred will swish his wand and load your groceries into your car!!" I was game. Got most of what I needed onto the list. Some others I'll have to go in to get, but this'll work. I work a ten hour shift. I'll be a bloody battle all day in the trenches of banking. I deserve this. I place the order at 12:28pm and am told it will be a 6-7pm pickup. Cool, cool, cool. Arrived 6:20pm after an easy (for once) drive down the freeway. Humming along to the dulcet tone of Metallica, I pull into the back area, park and call the number. My stuff's not ready. Really? It's been 6 hours since I placed the order. Grocery boy assured me it would take "10-15" minutes. Ok, I can do that. I turn off the car engine (because, let's face it, ain't nobody got time for that! Wasting gasoline. It's expensive.) and settle into playing some Candy Crush. That game is evil. After a while, I notice my toes have lost feeling. Dang - how long have I been in candy land? 25 minutes....so I call again. The boy who answered says "she" was in the process of getting the groceries. Wth? So I've sat for 25 minutes before they even started?!? They didn't plan to do the shop before 6pm? That's ludicrous. Who is running this grocery pickup? I demand answers! I start the car and turn up the heat as my breath is fogging up the windows - hindering my direct line of sight where grocery boy is sure to make his grand exit from the building. It's 7:10pm and still no sign of life out there. I could have done the entire shop myself by now! My butt hurts from sitting in the same position for 50 minutes. 50 MINUTES?!? I could have knitted a damn sweater using my winter-ready leg hair by now! I was assured a swift and easy pickup by fairy God-father Fred! I didn't sign up for this! I am exhausted and quite out of patience. What the cluck is taking so long? I'll leave. That'll show them! But they've already debited my account. I'll be out nearly $200. Humph. I sit in impotent rage. Jesus, Mary and Joseph......it's been ONE CLUCKING HOUR! I debate storming the entrance and demanding my effect, but I'm wearing a dress and it's raining out. I'll arrive on the scene looking like a drowned version of Mary Poppins and scare the children. I've come to accept the fact that my bum may never recover from sitting on it so long. Like usual Fred Meyer stores, has all the basics you need for everything. It feels very run down though, dark and dreary feeling in there. Shelves could be kept stocked more regularly. Definitely in need of a modern uplift, but in general, staff have been ok, and gives you what you need. This is not my regular Fred Myers as it is about an hour away from me and I frequent my local FMs. But my one time stop in here had me at such an awe that I had to write one. This place absolutely puts their sister stores to shame that I would consider the one hour drive to come here. I was in town and needed to buy some flowers and after staring blankly at the section for a couple minutes I was greeted by Julie the florist. Sweet lady, She asked a few friendly questions on what I was looking for and helped me put together a beautiful personalized bouquet. Told me to do some shopping she'd have it ready for in a few minutes so I walked around. I was amazed at how neat and clean and new everything looked. They had this cool self serve bar I've never seen at a FM before so of course I filled up a bowl and some food. I bought some other things and went through the self check out... Even that was cooler than any other places I've seen! Of course the thing said I needed a clerk to swing by cause something was wrong the bagging thing but the clerk walked by with a smile and said hi and REMOTELY cleared the error. This Fred Meyer is bad news. Beware of Pam at the Customer Service Center. She is very mean employee who makes you feel like she is doing you a nasty favor. And they have the creepy Produce Manager, who doesn't want you to touch the produce. He wants you to take the ones closest to you, regardless if they are bruised or rotten. Also, he doesn't like to bring out stuff from the back until everything out is sold. Take my advice. Go to the one in Overlake or Redmond or Canyon Park. read more

Great newly remodeled store with a large selection of just about everything you need. This review however is targeted at the outstanding bakery team! Recently my husband and I hosted a 90's party and we searched and searched for a reasonably priced Ninja Turtle cake. While doing my regular shopping I spoke to the bakery team and while they didn't have a Ninja Turtle cake design, they told me that I can bring in my own toy or topper and they would put together a cake for me. I found a Fondant shop on Etsy.com and purchased a Ninja Turtle topper for $10. I then took it to the Fred Meyer bakery team and asked them to put it on a simple round cake and to just do what they think will look good. To say the least, they exceeded my expectations! I was blown away when I came back to pick up the cake and saw what they did. They took time to make the cake blend perfectly with the topper and it was such a great fit for the 90s theme! But how much was it? ONLY $25. I was shocked! I will be going to the Fred Meyer for all my upcoming parties. What a fun and affordable way to customize your themed party! I wasnt happy because I spent $1000 on a Samsung TV here and noticed after a few days very badly lit up corners and seven dead pixels after getting it all mounted and set up. Let's start with the customer service desk. If you decide to return an item to Kirkland FM, you would deal with a rude person who gives you bad time... Talking to some other customers before and they have mentioned about this person bad attitude.. I said this issue to the manager (a young lady) who works second shift, It did not appear she cares..
