Stacks of White claw on sale
    Marcus S.

I like this, Freddy's. It being my favorite Supermarket on the West coast, this one's got the one two punch of the actual grocery, and the fuel station right next to it. The rewards I accrue from shopping here go right into that which saves me money and is convenient. This particular Fred Meyer is a little better laid out than the usual one I go to, it looks a bit newer too. The produce and sushi and Deli department are all on the left as you walk in and you make your way right. The aisles are slightly wider here I feel and there is always a couple people manning the non-self-checkouts which is nice. Whomever is in charge of setting up the displays does a good job here. The products really jump out even if it's something I'm not interested in. The only thing is the aisle signs miss somethings. For example, I was looking for honey, none of aisles say "honey", but I finally found it in the "Jelly" aisle. Also the managers special rack is always disappointing here. My main Fred Meyer and even the QFC's I visit have netted me some good marked down stuff. This one is yet to do that. Still, this is a well-placed Fred Meyer that I like to hit before heading back from work and need to fuel up.

Fred Meyer is one of those everything stores, with clothing, shoes, toys, household goods, and a full size grocery store. This location also has a garden center, full jewelry store, Starbucks, pharmacy, and Chase bank. This location was remodeled several years ago and continues to feel modern. Overall, their prices tend to be reasonable. The clothing and shoes are predominantly brand name vs. house brand, i.e. Target. Though they are now part of Kroger, they still have a local vibe. Be sure to use their app for digital coupons and limited days special items. Those tends to be the best discounts. The app also offers occasional free Friday items.

No stars is more appropriate. I was over charged $28 at check out due incorrect sales prices in their system. I was met with enormous sighs of annoyance when I asked them to double check if I was understanding what I had been charged. I had to run all over the store taking pics of their posted sales. After explaining in detail to one employee, she handed me off to "removed" (written on his name tag), and had to explain all over again. This process took 30 minutes for him to follow and refund my money to more sighs. At no time did anyone say "sorry" for the mistake or the inconvenience, nor did they seem concerned that the $6.99 cheddar was ringing up at $16.99.

Curbside pickup stalls found in front of the garden center

Curbside pickup review! Further details about the store below. We have been using curbside pickup periodically during the pandemic and this service at Fred Meyer is definitely our preference over other grocery stores. The inventory is extensive with most grocery, home, and office items available. Clothing is a little more sparse. Options for alcohol purchase, ID checked upon pick up. Arriving at the pickup location, there are spots designated for pickups. The signs indicating where to find these are small and easy to miss - but at the totem lake location, the location is right in front of the garden center. Upon pick up, text your stall number and wait for your groceries. this normally takes a few minutes. You will have the opportunity to review substitutions (and typically, there are several). Once these are approved, your agent loads groceries into your trunk and off you go! Easy peasy.

SAFEWAY @ KIRKLAND…read more This used to be one of my favorite Safeway locations in Washington! It's spacious, has great produce, and items. It has however changed over the time, the staff don't seem friendly, I've walked in a couple times and just been fully glared at by staff in the front. Bathrooms are dirty and it's pretty sticky floors. There is also workers smoking on the side of Safeway outside right by the Handicap, no issue with smoking, but they are ALWAYS lingering around where customers are walking to the car. There is also homeless people always out front where you enter 124th street. Other than that, the selection is great, there is a Starbucks in the store as well, and the produce is fresh. I really enjoy the bakery items, they are delicious and the workers are always kind there!

And the location is right on a busy stretch of NE 85th Street that is close to I-405. The customer service was great. I had mistakenly picked up the wrong box of berries that were not on sale and told the self-checkout clerk that I would run back to the produce area to grab the right ones. When I came back, the clerk offered to ring my groceries up herself. I really appreciate how she went above and beyond. Little gestures like this help to rebuild customer loyalty.

But the lunch omakase special is what I really wanted I think. But even so. The poke bowl was mixed. I have to unfortunately knock off the stars/taste because the rice I got was literally the worst rice I've ever had touching raw fish. The rice was like hard and stale. I even had a clump that looked like it was the burnt part from leaving it on the cooker for too long and it couldn't bite it. I know this place is for the fish, but there's a bare minimum expectation on rice quality. And the fish itself was good? Maybe cuz it's the poke and not the omakase (so mixed chopped pieces) but there were pieces that tasted super fresh and delicious and then there were pieces that had so much tendon I couldn't bite through it. The folks there were super nice and friendly especially since I had no idea what to order. Just wish I was more delighted by the meal, especially cuz it was like $18 poke bowl. I'll give it another try with hopes it's better next time.

They have uniquely sourced items that are from Poland, Ukraine, and neighboring countries, as well as familiar items like house made baklava. When I shop there, I mostly concentrate on their dry goods such as sauces in jars, sweets, and easy to cook foods like frozen perogies (dumplings). Amongst the sweets, the Polish Wawel Mieszanka Krakowska chocolate covered jelly candy is a welcome treat. I enjoy wafer treats, so the Roshen wafers from Ukranine is my choice. I haven't had much luck with their produce; I skip them. (FYI: The business uses the Yelp photos to post the latest produce that has arrived, which is perfectly legitimate. But because they don't delete the previous photos, the Yelp photos suggest they may have a bigger produce section than they actually have at a given time. I was confused the first time I stepped in.) The shop is located in a strip mall with plentiful parking. The space is older, which I honestly don't care as long as it is clean. I don't require much service since I only need to pay and go. For me, this store doesn't serve the deli or the produce function in its name. But I do enjoy exploring their different items and choosing something new-to-me to try. That is good enough.

I came here today just to browse and look around. Parking was pretty difficult to get, as it gets pretty busy on the weekends. Fresh produce was amazing, they had all sorts of fruits, veggies, and everything looked so fresh. Until it got down to the actual items like chips and normal snacks. Everything was like gone, and I mean they are going in a whole production decrease. It was in like every isle, from ice cream, to chips, to cereal. Quite empty. They also had sample stands in two areas of the whole foods, completely empty and trash inside of where samples would be in. Service was ok. The people in front of us had a QR code for their Whole Foods app, and it took two workers and a manager to try to fix it, didn't work so they completely opened a new lane for the people behind them. Ambiance was nice, it was most of it pretty organized and well put together. I wouldn't come back to this location, since it seems all their production is just gone. I'll definitely stop by to browse if i am around the area again.

Today, 06/26, I went down the drinks aisle and there were various vendors and/or employees (hereafter "vendors") putting away merchandise. Most were to one side so as to not block traffic. One idiot had a cart on one side of the aisle and then merchandise directly next to it on the floor thus completely blocking traffic. When I approached, it appeared to me that he was quickly picking up the merchandise on the floor so he could move the cart and thus allow traffic to flow. Oh, what a fool was I to believe he was removing his traffic block. He looked up to me and said something like, "Oh, I didn't see you there. YOU should have said something." Examine the situation. 1) He did not apologize for creating the block to begin with. 2) And of course, he failed to prevent a block to begin with. 3) He says he didn't see me. Let me try that when I get in a traffic accident. Would my failure to see be a defense? Or the reason for the accident? 4) He then blames me. The whole issue is apparently because I didn't say something. Apparently, the burden was on me to tell him not to block traffic to begin with. And you know why he blocked traffic to begin with? Because he can. Because no manager at the store manages. And you know for how much longer he will do it? Until the day he is fired. He is not customer oriented; he is task oriented. He doesn't the see the customer as the reason for his job, he sees the customer as a burden to his job. He likely arrives in relief at the store knowing that the manager is always nowhere to be found. No vendor in a properly managed store would ever attempt to be so stupid as to have merchandise across the floor to completely block customer traffic.
