Leave it to me to go to a Trader Joe's to jump on all of their holiday treats! I had to get some for my trip and seeing how airplane food sucks, I wanted something that would last hours unrefrigerated...that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it! To be fair, I also got some produce here as well. After spending about $150 on sweets and treats here, the guy collecting the carts outside even offered to help me with my groceries to my car. I told him it was nothing fragile in there, but when he heard about the cookies, he said "yes, there are fragile stuff in there!" lol. I just want to say how disappointed I am with this store today. My husband and I go here because you guys have great food and during these crazy times I feel safe going into this store knowing your crew is doing all you can do help reduce the spread the germs. Especially since I have lung cancer I am extremely grateful to the crew and am willing to pay a bit more of some items because of how safe I feel there. Today my views have changed. We came today to do our weekly shopping and we came across 3 people not wearing a mask in the store. I saw multiple employees walk past these customers and NO ONE stopped them. When I went up to an employee and pointed it out, they said they have a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask. They seemed to be doing perfectly fine walking, controlling a crazy child AND talking on the phone. I was enraged as well as another customer that these people are spared. I will not be shopping at Trader Joe's again unfortunately as it appears that it is too risky to step foot in here. TJ, just put up a right to refuse service sign. Who doesn't love Trader Joes?! People are friendly and the food is great! Only a few times have I gotten things that weren't so fantastic, like the Cookie Butter Cookies. Totally stay away from those and just grab the jar of Cookie Butter instead! I wish I could do 100% of my grocery shopping here, but while they have some good produce, I can find better at the Farmer's Market or Frazier Farms (and it's cheaper). Although I love Trader Joes all of their stores are small, which I don't understand why because SO many people come to them and that means during peaks hours, parking lot is a mad house and you can barely move your cart around in the store, and Californians aren't always the friendliest (or maybe they're just HANGRY). Also if an item is not stocked it's because they're "in the process" of changing manufacturers, so they never know when it's going to be restocked! I waited almost 6 months to get my Chocolate Raspberry Sticks! You get me hooked Trader Joe's and then when I want some I can't have it! However I love how they keeps things local and have such a variety of beer and wine at great prices, so I'm able to pick up a 6 pack and not feel too guilty if I don't like it because I just wanted to try it. I love love love TJ's!! I would ONLY shop here if I could. It's not only the warm and friendly vibe you get the moment you walk in, but the selection is always fresh, clean, organized and well-stocked. The "crew" is always friendly and eager to help. If I could afford to buy all organic I'd buy all my produce here but, alas, $4 for three smallish bell peppers just ain't cuttin' it for me. I LOVE their frozen food section. Seriously the first six months after moving out of my parents house for the first time, I stocked up on all frozen foods until I slowly taught myself how to cook. The baked orange chicken, microwaveable brown rice medley, meatless meatballs, vegetable spring rolls, chicken tikka masala... you just can't go wrong. The rows of cookies and sweets above the frozen displays are so very distracting but I make it out of there usually with only one tub of cookies on a good day :) The ever-famous Two Buck Chuck is another favorite. They have recently(?) added to their selection a small line of $1.99 beers, one of which is a very yummy double IPA. They are usually down to the bare bones whenever I stop in but you just may get lucky. Try not to pick up any extra snacks by the checkout... I always do. Thanks Trader Joe's. Wow. Where do I start? Shopping here is like a treasure hunt. I have browsed Trader Joes for wines a bunch but never really looked at their groceries. After Costco screwed up my membership and I decided to shop elsewhere to 'decompress' from the madness, I fell in love with this place. I love the variety and the odd selection of food. I like cheap wine and there is always the 2 buck chuck. There are wines around $5-$8 that are absolutely fabulous. I'd love to drop $20 on a wine there just to see but I'm stuck at the $8 threshold so far. The aisles of single serve meals, deserts and appetizers are addicting. My roommate works at Whole Foods and is blown away by the prices here. It's pretty entertaining to see his eyes light up when I show him a shopping bag full of groceries that cost me $20 (not $80). Senior hours have cut out in majority of retailers. I use to only shop at trader joes. They have food and meals that fit perfect for my flying schedule as a Flight attendant. I also help other airline crew members to food prep for trips, living on the road but with the extra hour for senior citizens (and very few attend) I am not waiting in line for 10 people to do their shopping and "browse". It is discouraging but I have found sprouts and other retailers make it more convenient. Use to give traders the 4-5 stars. And yes, i understand Covid, but other stores do as well. read more

3.5 stars This is quiet a large store compared to the Trader Joe stores that I frequent in the Northern California area. The product selection seemed standard, but to be honest I was just picking up some alcohol and did not really shop through all the aisles. But given the size of the store , I would imagine that they have a great selection of everything. My son loves finding the stuffed animal in the TJ stores we shop in normally to get his lollipop. I stopped by customer service to ask if they do the "game" for kids and asked what animal I need to look for. The lady I spoke to was very short with me, but I must have caught her at a very bad time. But for those not local to the area - you look for a stuffed sting ray for your kids to get a lollipop at the register. My son was ecstatic to find kids shopping carts. The cashier made up for the customer service desks' attitude by being very attentive to my son. He gave him his lollipop for finding the sting ray and gave him lots of stickers after chatting a bit with him. This is a good stop for parents traveling through the area. It is near a lot of the children's attractions like Legoland, so stopping here for snacks and some groceries is a good idea! read more

This Trader Joe's is close to my new apartment. I've been there about three times now and it is always crowded. I like their products and the cashiers are generally friendly. My biggest gripe is the parking lot. Whomever designed it sucks. I was parked at the end of a lane and was literally blocked in and could not get out. Please be aware that a Consumer Reports study found exceptionally high levels of lead and cadmium in Trader Joe's chocolate bars. Evidently, TJs does not consider heavy metal toxicity in it's products to be much of a problem. When we went to return the chocolate we'd purchased prior to learning about the study, the manager expressed her belief that TJs can keep the bars on their shelves because they haven't yet lost the lawsuit that's been filed against them. read more

I really do like Trader Joe's. I don't come often and when I do it's for specific things and to occasionally try something new. I love the Organic frozen pizza crusts, the potstickers, eggs and several of the frozen entrees and the "Garlic cubes". When I come in I usually see something that looks good and sometimes I try it and sometimes I don't. The one thing that's ALWAYS consistent is the staff. These people seem to love their jobs and will always go out of their way to make sure you can find what you are looking for, answer questions or recommend something tasty. I wish I could do all my shopping here but sadly I eat a lot of junk and their junk selection is minimal. read more

This is my favorite location! Not only is the store clean and orderly, but the staff is what truly sets this location apart from the others! I've been to the one in Carlsbad, Encinitas, La Jolla and Carmel valley but the staff here are warm, friendly, and helpful! Trader J's is one fun place to shop! From the helpful yet oh so laid back staff, to the mini shopping carts for the mini humans (aka: children) to push about the store, to the variety of groceries and their adorable, colorful signage, this TJ's never allows me to leave on anything but a high note! I will usually buy whatever item is being offered as a sample at the back of the store because whatever it is being offered to me is typically SO good and I want to share that goodness at home with my family! My son is a very picker eater, but he will eat foods purchased from Trader Joes, hence my need to frequent this lovely store! The friendly staff love to engage with my kiddo, which is superb because my son is also incredibly shy! The parking lot can be a hazard zone, what with so many people zipping in and out of the old and small shopping center, but driving at lower speeds and being cautious helps! (Of course) Trader Joes of Oceanside has always been one of my favorite places and I would recommend it to anyone for its wholeheartedness and wholesome foods! read more

I really like TJ's because it's small, they have tasty healthier options and I love their produce. Some of my fav's are the gorgonzola salad, almond vanilla cereal, mac & cheese and the honey crisp apples. I wish there were more TJ's around like 7-11, I really hate driving to the other side of town but it's worth it. My ex is the one who got me hooked on TJ's so everytime I go there I think about her which sucks. I don't care because I know that the food here is great and pretty healthy. In these crazy Covid-19 times I have felt so so so safe coming into your store. I know that I'm touching a clean cart, the capacity of the store is being watched and their policies are being enforced and they are going the extra mile to make sure that I am safe there. Trader Joe and I have a Love/Hate relationship with each other. After being friends now for 5 years I still LOVE the organic, healthy food that he offers. I just HATE that I spend so much for so little. In this day of bargain shopping I feel like half of my paycheck goes to fruit and produce while the other half goes to gas. Are organic food markets cleverly disguised money grubbers? Are they here to help combat the garbage that is processed food? The world says yes to both. Me? I am still undecided. I can say that whenever I have any qualms about the money being spent (stay away from chocolate), all I have to do is eat some of that naturally grown, pesticide free fruit and my worries blow with the wind. The fruit here has never been seen rotten on the shelf, generally lasts weeks after purchase and tasks like real fruit should.I bring this up because I have had issues with Ralphs and Albertsons for years. As for the rest of Joe's offerings, I tend to stay away from the all-natural chips, candy and soda because lets face it - it's still not good for you. I am by no means a health fanatic but Trader Joes is always a pit-stop come shopping time. read more

After loosing our beloved Mr. Poundcake to CRF, I was determined to feed our new kittens wet cat food only. After days of endless research, I found TJ's canned can food 5.5 ounces at 70 cents a can. Feline folks know you can pay up to $1.79 for 3 ounces of quality canned food. Zoomer and Boomer had difficulty digesting other canned food. They absolutely love TJ's turkey and giblets! It's a good food sans by-products and the first 5 ingredients are meat related. Cats don't need carbs as they are carnivores. The moisture in the food is suppose to protect them from urinary and kidney infections and diseases. I will report back in 10-15 years. Check out photo # 21. My fav grocery store without the bulk of Costco. I LOVE TJs. I typically go during my lunch to avoid traffic and the crowds. Be aware that there are a LOT of elders who shop here, so park a distance away and slow down for the pedestrians!!! I purchase a variety of items here such as trail mix, frozen entrees, frozen veggies, cheeses, dips, desserts, wines, fresh flowers and such. Items I typically buy on a regular basis are the spinach and artichoke dip, mandarin chicken, coconut shrimp, Korean BBQ, and the french green beans. The prices are reasonable and you can try new items without penny pinching. Every time I go, I have been greeted by friendly, helpful and happy employees. Don't forget your recycle shopping bag! I was really excited to finally find Trader Joes. I was expecting it to be a bit more like Whole Foods so was a lil let down. It kind of reminds me of a mom and pop store with a health kick. Some things were cheaper then my regular grocery store and some were more. I was expecting a larger variety of fruits and veggies and better quality. Just pealed an orange and it has no flavor and not much juice in it. Food for less fruit has been better then TJ. They had a lot of nice choices for frozen items but, I'm not filling my freezer. I was buying stuff since I've been eating clean. OK... HAD to bump up my review! I may not have liked the fruit that I bought... but, I purchased filet mignon and some strip steak and have to admit they were awesome! All I can say is RUDE! I went in today for some groceries. Mind you they had a line at 9am, I didn't mind waiting due to being quarantined and practicing social distancing. I finally go in, hurry up and shop and decide to pay. There was a person paying and then I was next with a cart full of food. Well the bagger Aubrey decided to continue talking to this gentleman while the cashier was scanning and bagging my stuff. If you have to talk please take it elsewhere. She continued the conversation and the gentleman wouldn't move from the credit card machine. How am I going to pay? She keep giggling and the cashier and I kept waiting. Time passed, I was all rung up and I was ready to pay, which he finally moved. She finally bagged some of my stuff. Gave me my bag (1 had 3), and just put it in my cart. I said Thank You, and she gave me a weird look. Not even a Your Welcome, after you made me wait for your conversation to end? How rude. I am sorry I interrupted whatever you had going on! But you do have a long line of people waiting outside to buy food!! I needed to get in and get out. Do not chit chat and ignore customers. Bad customer service, such a shame. read more

Probably my favorite TJ's, and I've been a regular at 3 or 4 others over the years :) The layout is spacious and not cluttered by any means, all the produce is super fresh and well-stocked, and everyone is sooooo so friendly. I've probably come here once a week since I moved to Oceanside in August, and I can honestly say that I look forward to it every time thanks to the wonderful staff. My TJ's-specific faves: 2 buck (now, 2.50 buck, CRY) chuck, orange chicken, their dark roast coffees, Mediterranean hummus, orzo, garlic naan, pumpkin ice cream, frozen mini pizzas, frozen butter chicken with rice (incredible Indian dish!), bite-size Everything crackers, blood orange soda, cookie butter!! The other staples that I could buy elsewhere but absolutely refuse to: crimini mushrooms, bananas, apples, lettuce blends, red peppers, sweet potatoes, basil (HUGE container for the price of barely a handful elsewhere), edamame, milk, eggs, beer (you can create your own 6-pack, woo!). read more
