You may say that they are just ok but you would have to be blind to the fact that they are constantly slammed and still find the time to go out of their way to help you or just breeze by and make a funny comment. I've been shopping at Trader Joe's for years and never had an experience like I did today. I got off from work and stopped to get some wine. The cashier took my wine and told me my total. He then proceeded to take my cash and threw my change at me. I looked at him confused about why he threw money at me. The next customer walks up and he says hi how are you, did u find everything okay...which is the usual experience at Trader Joe's. So turned around and said to him. Just curious, why didn't u ask me the same questions? He said u didn't acknowledge me so I did the same to u...the other customer didn't say anything to him either but he still treated her with respect. Staff is extremely caring, they went back to get better eggs as we didn't even check a couple were cracked, we ended up walking out without them because we forgot after ringing up the rest and the employee came out after us to make sure we got our eggs! Trader Joe's has my heart!! I love how their pricing is different from other grocery stories. Everything is by the unit, not by the pound so you know exactly how much you're spending and your grocery total at the register doesn't surprise you. This location looked to be well kept, organized and stocked up. I went on a busy Saturday afternoon and the employees were so kind and made sure to connect with you as an individual customer. The lady at the sample station was super personable and very knowledgeable about the products she was offering for samples. I walked away with two out of three of the products in my basket!! Some of my TJ faves are the dark chocolate almond butter cups and the 21 Seasoning Salute. But there are so many hidden gems at TJ that you just have to go and see for yourself. I lived in LA for 6 years which is how I first found out about this wonderful grocery store. This location is lovely for a Trader Joe's cause it's on my way home from work. There aren't an overwhelming amount of Trader Joe's' in the Dallas area so the less I have to drive to get to one, the better. The service is wonderful here, but the store can get kinda packed and sometimes it's difficult to squeeze in and get what you need. It's a big decision on this or that item, you know? What I LOVE: - Their creativity with Halloween themed snacks and goodies! And the pumpkins. Duh. - Their Crispy Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies. Normally I don't like the words 'crispy' or 'crunchy' to be anywhere near my cookies, but this is an exception to the rule. I LOVE them. It's a dangerous thing leaving me alone with a tub of those. - Their Chicken Gyozas. I buy them in six (6) bag increments. No lie. Fry em up, dunk em in a mixture of vinegar and red wine vinegar with a couple drops of la-yu (not sold here) and BOOM. - The mini shopping carts. - The brown paper bag(s) you get no matter the purchase. This was my first visit to Trader Joes. It's not too far from my house, so I decided to check it out. I was impressed with the amount of rare foods they carry. Everything I bought can't be found at a traditional grocery store and the food products are quality. I can't wait to go back! I only noted one negative: The prepared meals/frozen meals are scattered all over the store. They don't just have one section for these types of meals. They have them on like three different aisles. It was a bit chaotic to decide on 5 meals for lunch for the week because the minute I settled on 5 on one aisle, I ran into more on another aisle and then more on another aisle, again. I suggest centralizing them in one place for an eased customer experience. The biggest plus I noted is the variety of meals and the diversity in them. They have spanish, mexican, indian, chinese, mandarin and much more. And they were all quality meals. The only other place I've seen this level of diversity in the frozen foods section is at Tom Thumb in Las Colinas. Tom Thumb is a traditional grocer, but this location really caters to people, like me, who have diverse palates I can't wait to go back to TJ! read more

I'm from the NW and love the consistency of customer service at each and every Trader Joe's. They have a standard of service that is above most like Nordstrom. They're always pleasant and willing to answer your questions and show you where/what you need. This particular store was pretty small compared to the one in Fort Worth...maybe not, maybe it was just way more congested than the others. It's located in a strip mall so that could be why. I ran in for a couple bags of popcorn (cheddar and kettle corn) for a game night a friend hosted. The popcorn seemed to last 5 minutes, if that. It was fresh and flavorful as expected. I recommend ALL of the flavors they offer. The tried and true cabernet sauvignon cost me $3 and was tasty too. I love this store and think the prices are perfect for a table of 1 or 2. If you're cooking for more than 2, you'll most likely think this place is too expensive. This location is very close to my home and I'm still trying to figure out if thats a pro or con. Like most everyone else, I knew of Trader Joe's but didn't know anything about it. The kiddo and I happened to be in the Plano area and we drove right past it..... we hit it on the way back. It seems like in the times of the mega grocery stores that we all like to get lost in we seems to have lost that small town, "mom & pop" type of stores. There's nothing wrong with Market Street, Central Market, Kroger Marketplace or SuperTarger but it's kind of cool to go to a store that is small and has their own label. Trader Joe's has that small, laid back California feel to it. I guess being that their foundings are in Cali, it fits. It's a really friendly and warm place. Wide aisles, organic food and plenty of wine and beer. Most everything is right on par with the prices. Inexpensive spices (in grinders) a wide array of flowers, cookies, milk products including kafir and a good meat and cheese section. I just went to their website and there's a Trader Joes' on South Hulen, about 10 minutes from where I work. I plan to venture there..... They even have a little armadillo hunt to keep the kids interested. Find Banjo the Armadillo and get a prize. The staff hides a stuffed Armadillo somewhere in the store and the child (my kiddo, in this case) ends up with an organic lollipop. A pomegranate one that she really enjoyed. *Please Read* As a first-time visitor in the Plano, TX Trader Joe's and as a new resident of Texas in general, sadly my very first visit yesterday (5/24) was met with hostility and outward unprofessionalism from one of the workers at this store, Marcellia or Arcellia (I received her name from one of the other employees, but unfortunately didn't quite hear correctly). For the sake of this feedback, though, I will refer to her as Arcellia. Typically when I went to Trader Joes back home on the east coast, its been for the pleasant atmosphere and staff -- Customer service is everything to me. After my first visit to this Plano location, however, its clear that my hand has been forced to give Whole Foods my business instead. This all started when I overheard two women having small talk directly behind me in Spanish. As a fellow fluent Spanish-speaker, I turned around in curiosity to see the faces of those who also seemed to be fluent as well. As soon as I turned around, Arcellia in an overbearingly sarcastic and ingenuine tone says, "How are you today and how can I help you?!" Before I can even respond she immediately turns her back to me and looks to the other employee and rolls her eyes. When the other employee mouths to her "what happened?", Arcellia again rolls her eyes and shakes her head with me still present and only about a foot away. I walked away in confusion and disbelief. Not only was Arcellia extremely unprofessional and dismissive, but I felt her lack of respect seemed to be driven by my appearance--a Black woman with dark skin and kinky hair. I wonder if I would have received that same response had my skin been lighter and hair texture straighter? If I had the conventional "Latinx look", which may have indicated I was a fluent Spanish-speaker, would Arcellia have greeted me with a smile and asked how my day was going? I guess I'll never know. Trader Joes, please do better with teaching your staff the importance of Customer service, Unconscious and Conscious biases, and simple, decent respect. read more

It's large enough to have a bit extra of a selection and not feel like you're constantly squeezing past team members restocking the shelves but still feels personable. Trader Joe's is one of my favorite places to shop! I always make an effort to stop at this one in particular as they have a great selection of wines and beers and the staff is always so nice! Trader Joe's definitely makes an effort to showcase local beers. I love that they let you just pick one can and try it--you may not want an entire six pack of a beer you don't know. So, I think it is just great that you can try one or two and then decide if you want more later on. Just like most Trader Joe's they have a massive selection of their own products with a sprinkling mix of others. I love that they always have samples for you as well as fresh coffee! You can never go wrong with Trader Joe's. I like visiting various grocery stores, I started this hobby (almost) especially after Covid broke out. I check the details what I buy, including nutrition. My diet is leaning to plant based , but I also adopt Mediterranean / Japanese diet and healthy low carb. Also, I mind the price, off course. TJ, Walmart, Sprout, Market Street, Tom Thumb, Kroger, Costco, Sam's club, WinCo, Z Tao, Mitsuwa, Ranch 99, H Mart, Jusgo, Aldi, CCCP, Natural grocers, whole foods, Horizon fresh supermarket, Patel Brothers, Ubzi Mandi, etc cetera (will expand when I want to cook those types of food) ... I visited some. Pros of TJ is below. I keep them simple. 1). Fresh 2). Price is good (Some are pricier than Walmart, Costco, but that level) 3). I love the small and neighborhood-type feel that Trader Joe's has compared to large grocery stores. Their products are high-quality and I love the fresh produce that they have here. You can find many unique products that are only sold at Trader Joe's and I honestly have never tried an item I wasn't happy with. They always have sample food items and drinks in the back corner of the store which is a great way to introduce customers to items that they sell in-stores and gives us an opportunity to try something new! Their 2 Buck Chucks make this place even better! They have a variety of red and white wines that you can purchase on a budget without sacrificing quality and taste! The internet lists Trader Joe's as a Kringle retailer. I went out of my way to buy some Kringle, and when I looked through the store they were no where to be found. I hunted down a very pleasant store employee who told me that Kringle is only bought every ninety days. You can get Kringle on the internet within a weeks time, and have a wide variety to choose from. Trader Joe's isn't anything special, so I will not be going out of my way again. read more

A woman could eat healthy on a budget thanks to Trader Joe's!!! I walked in and thought, "This is a grocery store." I haven't been in a store that felt like that since I was a kid. It was small, okay, but it was small like a neighborhood grocery store! I felt happy already. I went straight to the wine section to buy a gift. I'd heard about 2 buck Chuck for years, read the Yelp advice, and searched through their Online flyer. I picked a couple of wines and decided to quickly walk through the aisles just to say I'd been to Trader Joe's. Whoa was I surprised!! I need to tell you that the "potato chip" aisle is off the chain! Eat chips responsibly by choosing one of their several types of veggie chips. There were veggie and flax seed tortilla chips, sweet potato chips, and vegetable root chips! I've never seen a chip aisle like that. In the juice aisle, there were all these blends like the Naked juices but 1-2 dollars cheaper! In the sausage aisle, I found like 5 different types of chicken sausage including 2 different types of chicken apple sausage! I also found the cookie butter. Just as I was debating in my head about what it might taste like, I stumbled upon the sample counter. They were giving out samples of the famous cookie butter! I literally jumped in the air and clapped. Too much? I didn't buy the cookie butter. I looooooooooooooooooove peanut butter. The cookie butter was quite tasty but not tasty enough to win my heart. I do think there will come a day when I go and buy some for a recipe or something but I'll stick with peanut butter for now. It had sort of a flat taste whereas peanut butter is a full bodied, strong flavor. Cookie butter tasted like cookies and butter which isn't as good as tasting like creamy peanuts with sugar. As I put my jar back on the shelf, there was a lady there buying 5 jars as gifts for her mother in law. It's popular. Overall, the prices are amazing and breathtaking. I have never shopped in the likes of Whole Foods because I always leave after discovering the prices. These prices were so reasonable that even I fully intend to shop at Trader Joe's regularly. The people in there are very friendly as though we all won the lottery and we've all arrived at Disney World. I went early on a Saturday morning though and was told by several shoppers and staff that after 12, you don't have room to move in that store. I especially like that when I was done shopping I could walk right outside and straight to my car in 10 steps. I counted. THIS is a grocery store. Trader Joe's - FAVS!!!! - Grocery Near Me - Plano, Texas

Trader Joe's is one of those places that just doesn't really have an equal in our market. Their nose isn't quite as high in the air as Whole Foods, they're not as big as Central Market, they've got more unique and packaged products than Sprouts. I've not really relied on produce at Trader Joe's, but what I've tried has been good. Recently, I picked up a flat of peaches, and they were really sweet and juicy. But what I usually come here for are frozen or canned goods. Some things that are big wins here: Frozen orange chicken and various vegetables, canned chili, Jo-Jos (their Oreo style cookies), and so many other things. Lately, though, my biggest "discovery" is their store branded dark chocolate. I've only recently become converted to dark chocolate, and they've got a 70% bar that's only $2, is really big, and tastes fantastic. Much better than a Sprouts bar I sampled on the same day, and almost as good as some stuff from Central Market that cost three times as much. Really, you just have to shop here and try some stuff. Don't expect very many national brands, it's mostly store branded. But I really haven't experienced any genuine clunkers; it's all been good for me. read more
