Aww Trader Joe's, my absolute favorite store for groceries. Ever since this location opened in Poway I started coming here. They are always super clean and the staff is so kind and helpful. They always have yummy new stuff to try and even have samples which are usually delicious. Great prices on almost everything and I love that there are no food dyes in anything. As a mom of 4 its so helpful that they unload the cart for you and bag everything. The checkout people are always friendly and my kids even love coming for the free lollipops after finding the hidden horse. If you have any questions about the new products they always do their best to help. This is one grocery store I feel like I leave in a better mood than when I came lol! Even though we usually check out with a huge cartful, no one ever makes it feel like its a burden. Love Trader Joe's, and this location is definitely one of the best I've been to! read more

This Trader Joe's is one of my favorite locations! I prefer this one over the Carmel Mountain branch. This location is always clean and the staff is great! Parking can be a bit tough since it's a smaller lot, just an fyi. The prices are great here and the selection is even better. read more

Parking is always a hassle in front of this store. Frequented by millennial hipsters, older Asians, homeschool moms, gluten-free band wagoneers, and white people +50yrs old. I don't get the concept of the check out areas. Occasionally I find some hidden gems here but mainly go for the variety of chip dips. read more

I haven't been in a Trader Joe's in four years and it was a bit like coming home. I was so impressed with the prices and selection, happy to pick up organic berries, kombucha, kefir and the necessary pumpkin ice cream and maple ice cream ( buy it, you will be in tastebud heaven) the experience would have been totally fabulous if it wasn't for the end of the experience. Jaime was apparently not the happiest I tried to help and bag the groceries, she mildly scolded my holding of the groceries and seemed ultra concerned I couldn't handle the transport of my berries and two bits of ice cream, quite odd. read more

Always friendly and they have a great selection. My problem is I go in for one or two things and end up grabbing way more. Everything is pretty reasonable (unless you are like me and grab everything, it adds up! hehehe). I do love that you can find something different and we get a great sampling of a variety of foods we may not normally get. My son loves the spanakopita and the pot stickers. They are a staple for him in his dorm room and when he comes home. Store is open and you do not feel crowded (even though it always is). Love the fresh produce and flowers as well. I can never go into a Trader Joe's without coming out with a bag full of goodies. I usually bring my own bag but always look forward to the holiday decorated paper bags :) read more

Wow! Wow! The new Trader Joe's just opened in Poway! It didn't disappoint. Plenty of parking, food and overall cool items! I am very happy as they have a great selection and so many unique items. I am trying the beef and stout pies and shrimp bag buns this time! They did run out of bags, but the kikind gentleman at the refiregister found one for me! Thank you so much!! I love this Trader Joes. I usually shop during the week and parking is good. On weekends it's a little tight like most stores. I don't see only one demographic here like one of the reviews suggest, I see all types of people. The service is always excellent. The clerks are friendly and helpful. The food choices I make are always tasty. I buy the cheese, the vegetables, the yogurt, cereals, seasonal favorites and all is fresh and yummy. I recommend the Trader Joes in Poway. read more

Trader Joe's is bar none the best grocery store ever! Their offerings are excellent -- from their frozen foods to produce and fruits and they have new products seasonally -- plus the fabulous fresh flowers, greeting cards and totes! I've been a loyal client for the better part of 30 years -- and it's my number one store! One very notable thing is that the employees all seem happy working there -- they always help you find stuff with a smile and they hat with you and give you pointers as to how to prep certain things because they try everything themselves!! The service is unsurpassed and the way they pack your groceries is an art!! The store and rest rooms are always clean and everything is well stocked and looks and is fresh -- it all invites you to shop there and you leave happy. Prices are very competitive to boot -- what's not to like!!??!! Yes, I recommend Trader Joe's 1000%!! read more

This new store is a God send!! My commute to Trader Joe's was cut down from 25 min. to 8 min., so I am shopping at TJ's way more often. Everything is clean and well stocked, and the employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. I was shopping last week and had a woman named Coleen help me...she gave me some great advice regarding several products in the store and we had a lovely conversation while I checked out - she was a joy! I am so happy this store is in Poway!! read more

I visited between 8:50 and 9:10 and picked up a few items. I had just come from Five Below and brought the bag with me. That alone seemed to trigger suspicion as staff members would follow me through the aisles as if I were doing something wrong. At checkout, an employee in a purple shirt with blonde hair repeatedly checked my cart and then grabbed it aggressively while saying, "No cash--card only," in a tone that implied I couldn't pay. This Trader Joe's is a wonderful addition to the shopping in Poway. The transformation of the former Steinmart space into this Trader Joe's was a job well done. Yes, the layout follows that of other Trader Joe's, yet is seems fresh. Shelves and cases are well-stocked; crew members are friendly and helpful. Parking is decent in the shared lot. Easy access from Midland. This is not the closest Trader Joe's to home, but it will be most convenient when we make shopping trips into Poway. read more

We live closer to the Carmel Mtn. store, but the parking there is always a problem and the store is often crowded. That's why we started going up to the Escondido store because there was always parking and the store was well stocked and had more room. Then yesterday after dropping off our car at the Toyota dealer for service,, we went to this store and were amazed at how big, well stocked and uncrowded it was. A quick check of Google maps indicated it was closer than the Escondido store so now we'll be coming here. read more

I was so happy to see that the Trader Joe's had opened right down the street, and they made the parking a lot bigger. But, as I was shopping I noticed the grapes had mold on them then continued my shopping. I usually come just for snacks or the frozen foods but I picked up some vegetables today. Once I got home I cut my bell peppers that I purchased and it had mold in it too! However, the cashier was super nice. Maybe just be careful with the produce.. read more

They're so nice here! Thank you to the woman today who was so kind to me and my kids. My kids were hungry and cranky, so they opened a box of crackers. But the box ended up spilling all over and we got crackers everywhere. I started picking them up and apologized, and a woman who worked here said don't worry about it, it happens all the time. Then she got me a new box of crackers and took the old box and threw it away. Thank you to this kind woman and all the wonderful employees at TJs! read more

Despite this, the employee continued trying to engage, ignoring my clear and respectful responses. At that point, I was already feeling pressured and just wanted to check out and leave. While waiting in line, the same employee approached me again and redirected me to another register, saying he could help me there. I agreed, expecting a straightforward checkout. Instead, the interaction became uncomfortable and frankly bizarre. He asked if I needed a cigar bag. I responded clearly: "Yes." Rather than proceeding normally, he paused, stared at me, and acted as if he did not understand my response. There was an awkward silence where he simply looked at me in a confused and almost performative way. At that moment, I had to say: "I think my English wasn't that bad saying 'yes' after you asked if I need a bag." His response was dismissive: "Oh no, I asked if you need a cigar bag."! This interaction felt unnecessary, patronizing, and inappropriate. What should have been a simple transaction turned into an uncomfortable experience that made me question whether I was being subtly mocked or tested over something as basic as saying "yes." This happened around 3:33 PM on a Saturday. what should have been a quick stop after a long week turned into a frustrating and unwelcome experience. For clarity, the employee's name was John. I expect better from a company like Total Wine. Customers should not feel pressured while browsing, nor should they be made uncomfortable during a basic checkout interaction. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on the store and needs to be addressed seriously. I hope corporate reviews this and takes appropriate action to ensure customers are treated with respect and professionalism.

His quality of customer service alone would be enough to keep us coming back if nothing else, but rest assured, this place checks all the boxes. That said, Nate's knowledge and passion for his business just puts him over the top of other stores. Some of the nicer bottles we've found here was the Weller Full Proof, Mid Winternight Dram, Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend and as of this afternoon a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 15-year that we will be opening and sharing at our wedding. Everything about this place is awesome! The selection, the service, the cleanliness and professional layout, this is truly a place I don't see myself straying from. They have so many other bottles I want to get my hands on and in time I hope to try some of the other options they offer and am eyeballing the Weller Antique 107. I seriously can't say enough good things about this place. I sent my friend's wife here a few months back because she wanted to get a bottle for his birthday and Nate did not steer her wrong either and I believe sent her home with a bottle of Oban 18. For no extra cost he didn't just sprinkle bacon bits on a plain maple bar and call it a day, he used fresh maple icing to glue the bits onto the bar, a bit of extra effort that I truly appreciated as I had to eat it on the go. After all I've experienced in life, having a dog has become essential for my health and safety. My dogs are my constant companions, and I keep them in a stroller to ensure they stay clean and avoid germs and parasites while being by my side. They bring me joy and comfort as they travel everywhere with me! Today, I visited the store, but I found myself feeling unwell due to the heat, so I needed to grab a drink. As I made my way to the cashier with my two drinks in hand, I noticed there was no one around, when suddenly an employee stepped in front of my dogs in an intimidating manner. At that moment, it felt quite confrontational, but she laughed and remarked on how cute they were. However, my experience took a turn when a man who I believe was a manager approached me and informed me that they don't allow dogs in the store. I explained that my dogs are service animals, but he continued to insist I leave. Frustrated, I dropped my drinks and exited the store. His dismissive attitude was surprising, especially given my and my dogs' calm presence--we were simply enjoying our day out! It's vital that all establishments adhere to federal regulations regarding service animals, and encountering such resistance was disappointing. Thankfully, the staff at Ross were supportive and allowed me to grab some drinks without issue. I truly believe in fostering an environment of understanding and respect, and it's my hope that this situation can lead to better training for employees on service animal policies. I don't want this to happen to others, and I look forward to a prompt response to ensure this does not occur again. Positive change starts with open communication, and I'm hopeful for a resolution! read more

The disabled parking is adjacent to the store, which is very convenient. It is in a shopping complex with other businesses I patronize including Jack in the Box, Black Mountain Barbershop, Navy Federal Credit Union, and Donut Stop. Prices are always low at ALDI. In comparison the other ALDI in Mira Mesa, located at 6755 Mira Mesa Blvd, is not as clean, has a shopping cart area that always seems to need cleaning, and over half of self checkout terminals are frequently out of service.

What really stood out to me is how wonderful and helpful the employees are at this particular location. The associates Sreeja and Aubrey in particular have gone above and beyond to help me with any questions or concerns I've had in the past few visits. In my humble opinion, they both deserve raises!! I drive all the way from Downtown San Diego to get this kind of outstanding customer service and it is well worth the drive!
