I had an amazing experience with Elite Baking back in January. I ordered a custom vanilla bean cake with whipped vanilla frosting for my parents' birthdays (they're not a few days apart in January). The owner brought it out to my car in a very secure cake box, an he home was quite easy to find as well out in Sabre Springs. The cake was absolutely beautiful, and even more importantly, it was absolutely delicious. We brought it to the restaurant we ate at for the birthday dinner, and the staff cut it for us and served it. The cake was fluffy and moist, and the frosting was divine. 100% can't recommend Elite Baking enough to help you create a truly special event or holiday. read more

Elite Baking is my absolute favorite bakery. Anu is a completely lovely person and a true confectionary artist. We have work events every couple of months at my work and Anu has made us some truly beautiful creations. All I've had to do was send her a couple of idea photos and she takes it from there. Her creations are not only beautiful they're absolutely melt in your mouth delicious as well. I wish I could give her 5 stars but unfortunately I can't. I ordered a cake and 4 dozen sports theme cake pops for my son's first birthday. Sent lots of photos of what I was expecting. The communication was great- and the cake was great..but ultimately I've decided to take a couple of stars off for the cake pops. They didn't look professional at all..and i was disappointed when I saw them. Several of them were even cracked...see pics. I've seen pics of her other work, and they look great so not sure what happened with my order. I wish she would have told me she couldn't do them instead of accepting my order. read more

She was extremely accommodating and never made us feel like our last-minute request was an inconvenience. She carefully followed all our design ideas and brought them to life beautifully. I found Elite Baking because I needed something right away and she was all I could find locally, but I'm glad I did. I ordered a 50th Birthday cake and it turned out beautiful and delicious (we ordered marble). The only negative is that it was pricier than my normal go to baker. My gosh! On Thursday my brother told me he didn't get cupcakes for my nieces 18th bday dinner Sat. I contacted Elite Bakery as soon as they opened. The only request I had was red is my nieces favorite color and due to cost of the cupcakes I asked for half floral and half regular decorated. I got strawberry flavor. She finished the cupcakes before requested 2pm time. We were allllll blown away and the cake itself was delicious!!!! Service was above expectation!!! I'm so glad I found her on Yelp! I would highly recommend Anu's services from Elite Baking! Our company requested a cake for a very last minute event celebrating a promotion -- Anu was the first person I reached out to via email, and she was very responsive! She was able to take in my request PLUS offer delivery for an additional $30 (as our office was near her). I sent her inspo photos, cake colors, topping preferences, requested recommendations for best filling/flavor, etc. and let me tell ya, she completely nailed it! The cake was stunning and exactly how I was envisioning it. We didn't want to cut into it because it was so beautiful. The flavors were delicious too! I do wish they took credit card info from the website so I can use the company cc. She only accepts Venmo, Apple Pay, Zelle, and PayPal (charges 5%). Other than that, nooo issues from my end! Anu communicated with me well, and was very receptive to my specific design requests. My guests enjoyed the different flavors of cake/cupcakes including: carrot, chocolate peanut butter chip, strawberry, chocolate, and Hazelnut almond. The only suggestion would be to have the cupcake types labeled, although based on my selections, it was easy to tell which were which. The pricing was reasonable given the size of cakes ordered and design requests. We were able to get closer to 30 servings of cake out of each one. I would consider getting treats from Elite Baking again. A big plus for being available during the holiday season/end of year. read more

This is our second cake from Elite Baking and they did not disappoint. The cake was delicious and more than enough for everyone. What an amazing experience. My coworkers 40th birthday was today and I was able to put in an order yesterday less than 24 hours and have them ready for me by yesterday evening. They were beautifully decorated cupcakes that look like real flowers and the taste of the cupcake was very moist and the butter whipped topping was delicious. I am Anusha , the founder of Elite Baking. I baked my first gourmet cake 17 years ago. I felt bad about feeding my 1 year old son something that was made with a lot of food additives & preservatives and topped with ready-made icing. This inspired to me to bake and hand-ice a birthday cake using nothing but the finest ingredients. My passion for baking started on this day. Over the past several years, I have designed and made numerous custom cakes for family, friends and extended circle and gained a wealth of experience and confidence. Following on my dreams, I trained at San Francisco cooking school. I broadened my experience by working for a renowned bakery in San Francisco. I have also won a number of prestigious awards such as Contra Costa Cake & Sugar Art Society Novelty Cake and Contra Costa Cake & Sugar Art Society Cupcake. There is great attention to their dessert. I saw them heat up a knife just to cleanly cut the cake. The food service however did take some time to come out.

I wanted to try a couple of different croissants so we ordered the plain, chocolate and ham and cheese. I wish I asked them to warm up the ham and cheese. I think it would've turned out better. I really enjoyed the chocolate and my boyfriend enjoyed his plain croissant. The team here is very attentive. They definitely clean the tables right away ready for the next patron which I appreciate. Great spot to try while visiting San Diego.

It was the only thing that I thought wasn't so great. I didn't love the matcha and the strawberry puree was a little too chunky for my liking. Everything else was great though! The restaurant wasn't packed with customers but they were definitely short staffed or something because there were two couples sitting next to us who were also waiting for their food. One couple was ready to leave when their food came out at that exact moment. The servers did apologize and told us that they were having issues with the kitchen. They also offered us all free orange juice. However, if they knew they were having issues with the kitchen then they should've told us earlier before we got seated so people could go elsewhere rather than waiting an hour for their food. Overall, service here was very poor. In terms of food, it was unfortunately pretty good but not worth the wait. I really liked the simple toast with matcha cream on top as well as the curry hamburg. My friend ordered the shakshuka (not pictured because it came last and everyone just wanted to eat at that point) which was also pretty good. For the avocado toast, the toast was too hard so I wouldn't recommend it. We also ordered a yuzu and matcha yuzu mimosa. Both tasted like yuzu. The matcha yuzu one was basically a green yuzu mimosa. They have a vero water purification system so their water was really good lol.
