    Looks yumm !

Love me some Trader Joes! I cannot remember if there ever was a time I walked into a TJs without filling up at least one bag of something! Usually it's a smattering of snacks and gifts. And though this particular location, just outside of Hillsdale Mall seems to be on the slightly smaller side, they still had tasty samples of new item "mango rice crisps" and sugar apples. Yep, a few bags of those crispy mango snacks went into my cart! Also making it to the checkout were a few bags of nuts and snacks, a bottle of fig butter, a case of watermelon lemon sparkling water, a bottle of everything, some gnocchi and vodka pasta sauce, a box of strawberry flavored grapes (say whaaaa?!?) and a chocolate babka for good measure. You know, just a few essentials. ...Didn't even miss the truffle powder that I like to put on popcorn and pasta that was nowhere in the store. Smaller store also means no favorite sencha tea bags and no puffed lentil chips. Well almost didn't miss them, almost.

This is not meant to bash this store or products, because I frequent here and enjoy TJs....but I had an interesting surprise when I went to cut my French baguette today after grocery shopping. I'll post photos but the end of the baguette had a screw stuck in the loaf!! Quality insurance failed here and the screw must have fell in the batter prior to baking! WILD! I checked the rest of the loaf and there doesn't appear to be any more hardware items present! Please check your food items - you never know! It's five stars to the market location, but one star to the bakery!

Never met a T.J.'s I didn't love. It's a treasure trove of goodies, edible and non. We moved to S.M. and went here for the first time. It's just like the one I'm used to in Millbrae. Full of yummy stuff, customer service stellar and warm, never phoning it in. We went in practically every aisle and knocked it out of the park. Whether it's ready to eat salads and sandwiches or their frozen aisle and my favorite beverage these days, their rose sparkling green tea concoction, which given I don't drink alcohol but love the taste, I swear this stuff tastes like fermentation in a can Ala beer. The store is neat and clean, spacious, but not overly so, which is why I hate going to warehouses type places like Costco, god forbid, where you need to rife around in a cart or scooter. This is a more compact shop. It has a restroom in the back. A little floral department, and though I didn't see it, I'm sure it also has the requisite samples station. It's such a bummer that T.J's stopped their coffee samples, which I adored. Parking is easy and free in their shared lot.

I really love this Trader Joe's. I come here once a week to shop for the family and am able to pick up all the normal stuff plus great frozen food options. The staff at the store is overwhelmingly friendly and helpful whenever I ask where I can find something. Some of my favorite items to pick up here are eggs, Boursin cheese, triple cream brie cheese with mushrooms, frozen soup dumplings, and frozen chicken tikka masala samosas. This store is a gem and really saves a ton on the monthly grocery bill!

I'm not a big beer drinker as opposed to my niece and friends, but I do like the blackberry parfait fruited sour ale. It's not really sour. Especially in comparison to the aloha vibes sour. I also tried the froze which has peach puree I believe l. It wasn't too bad either. The one day we were there, there happens to be a smash burger vendor and they were very well done. So if you go and they are there, worth a try. There was actually a bunch of ceramic vendors set up along the side as well. Not sure if it was part of the breweries doing, but it was a nice to go take a stroll over and go peek at the goods. Everyone we've encountered here had always been friendly, nothing but good vibes.

Server did not really seem to want me to order at the bar instead of through the QR app. I ordered two flights and two single drinks for our party of four and one of the flights was not correct when brought to our table. Regardless we drank through the flights, enjoying the nice weather that day. Went up and purchased a mix and match four-pack on the way out, tipped well despite the so so service. Made our next stops and when we got home later was really disappointed to see the beers I brought home were not the ones I asked for. I know, my bad for not checking before I left, but I was left with the feeling that there was no attention to detail regarding the service we received that day. Two stars because we enjoyed most of the beers we did try.

No wait, they're DUELING. Two guys absolutely going at it on the keys, taking requests, and the crowd is just vibing. I mean really vibing. The cocktails are flowing, people are singing, and somewhere in the back of my head a little voice says "this is going to be a late night." I did not listen to that voice. No regrets. The whiskey selection is, and I say this with complete authority and only slightly blurry vision, "surprisingly incredible". The cocktails are also dialed in, they've got concoctions on the menu that you may have never heard of, or just pick the vibe you're going for and trust the process. I trusted the process. Multiple times. I used to go to Savannah Jazz back in the day. RIP, still not over it, but honestly?? This place might actually be BETTER. I said what I said. The music hits different when it's right in the middle of the whole room instead of tucked in the back somewhere. Oh and there's an outdoor area too for when you need some of that cool peninsula night air to... recalibrate. I used it. It helped. Briefly.

We were in a hurry to pick up some items as an emergency for dinner party that needed more "stuff"…read more. Called up the store around 8:20 pm, found out they close at 9 pm and jumped into the car to get there at 8:45 pm. First walked in... no greeting but , "we are closing in 15 minutes." At the aisle , I quickly gathered what I needed since I was there earlier in the day while Katrina came by reminded me twice that BevMo is closing by 9 pm and I need to ring you up . "Yes, I know " At 8:52 at cash register... Man says I needed to wait for Katrina to ring me up . 8:55 pm Katrina says: "You need to get to me before because I don't need to be ringing you up before closing. You should come earlier in the day . You should come back tomorrow . You should come back another day etc.." Btw, I was helping her organize my purchases on the counter to get rung up, bagging my stuff etc.. With all that talking from her, I still got out at 9:02. Some other customers behind me also needed to be rung up. Not happy. I never had such bad customer service. Upper management should take a close look at their staff. If there are people in the store shopping before 9 pm closing hours, they should be able to finish their purchase and not be harassed when they are trying to pay. They should not be told to "come back tomorrow " etc... Wow...
