I came at 11 am today, and parking was super easy. My son ran around the new store without running into anything (he wasn't supposed to run around but glad he didn't bump into anyone). I like how it is so spacious that carts don't bump into each other as much. I already noticed a new item that I can only find at other locations like the coconut ice cream. We had been loyal Trader Joe's customers of their previous store in Sunnyvale, and definitely felt that it was too small... especially the number of registers and the space for lines. The new store is more roomy and I like that the lines don't interfere with shopping too much and there are more displays of new products. There are also noticeably more products: I especially noticed more cheese to choose from, and more prepared foods like the grab-n-go salads. We were worried about the parking, but have been at least a half a dozen times, usually on the weekend, and have never had a problem finding a parking space. An employee told me that when they moved in to the shopping center, they made all the employees for all of the stores park somewhere else, and they also got rid of all the spots that had been reserved for PF Chang's, which I think made a huge difference. read more

This is my go-to grocery store. Like - who doesn't love Trader Joe's? This Trader Joe's is particularly cool, because the staff is super friendly, and you can tell that they all love their own products. Every time I go to check out, the cashier is always talking about some fun fact about something I'm buying or why they also love the item. Affordable groceries and good quality. I would just recommend using fruits and vegetables sooner than later as they can go bad quicker than the produce at other stores. One downside is the parking lot here. They recently moved to this location. Before it was closer to where Habit Burger is now. Dunno what the former TJ is now. I liked the parking lot in the older location. Here dang hella cars in and out voom voom hella fast ugh you gotta be careful. Overall I like Trader Joe's. They sell a lot of organics and I believe they do not use GMO in their food. It can get expensive though. When I go to Savemart or Luckys I leave with a bag full of groceries for $20 but at Trader Joe's its usually $40 for a bag of groceries. So it can get expensive so coming here is a treat. We love the cookie butter series. As of now there are three flavors--the regular, the crunchy one and recently the coca one. Before it would sell out every single day and it was limit one per person per day. I think all locations finally got a bunch cuz now there are no limit at most locations. We also like trying out new random goodies here. We usually buy macarons, the green smoothie, cookie butter, etc. They sell Mochi ice cream here and it's pretty cheap--$3.49 I believe. Mochi ice cream can get pretty expensive even at Asian super markets so $3.49 is not bad. Sometimes Ranch 99 sells it for $2.99 but that's once in a blue moon. So if you like Mochi ice cream, get it here. Overall, we like coming here for groceries. We don't shop here every week because it can get expensive so we come here once a while and always spend a lot. Lots of good food, sometimes there are good deals in the front. I recommend grocery shopping here. Lots of organics! Make sure it says organic and has the USDA logo on the side. read more

I love Trader Joes and have been excited about this new location. It's located in the same plaza as Pasta Pomodora, Chipotle, Starbucks and PF Changs. I foresee many parking issues in the future with TJ's grand opening. This TJ is spacious comapred to the other nearby location. I'm impressed by the space that this location has to offer (the buildling used to be Borders)!! Wide aisles so I don't have to squeeze past a shopping cart taking up the entire aisle. Great selection of snacks and food as any other location. Service was quick and friendly. Fair prices for the quality you get! read more

Cute trader joes with palm trees outside. An be tough to get parking, had to drive around a few times due to it bein placed in plaza. Smaller TJs, more than just a few items were out of stock some staff looked super miserable. Was pretty crowded but got what I needed and even though the cashier looked miserable she was an excellent nagger and she do wish us a good day. Not bad would go here if I need to but parking would probably be the worst part. read more

Regarding the move from the "Orchard Supply Hardware location" to the "Borders Bookstore location": --Parking has become much more difficult---bad --Larger space and more product---good Regarding Trader Joe's offerings: ---Produce has always been iffy...every item spoils rapidly. (Even lowly Safeway's produce is better. Grow your own or buy at Sprouts or at pricey Whole Foods/Draeger's/Andronico's.) ---The best buy at Trader Joe's is in the bagged nuts arena...good quality and half or less the cost of any other market. read more

The staff here are always friendly and eager to help. They make sure to help me find everything that I need. The aisles are neat and clearly organized. The produce are fresh and reasonably priced. Their 0.19 cent bananas can't be beat. Parking is challenging though. read more

This is a nice store. But I don't go there often, partly because the parking is a big headache. There seems to be a lot of popular restaurants and eating places in the same complex so it can be a hassle to get a parking spot. One of the occasions I had to go was when I was looking for a wine and called the store. The employee was nice enough to hold a couple of bottles for me so I could pick them up later in the evening. read more

We love the snacks at Trader Joe's. My kids can't get enough plantain chips!! We don't love parking here, definitely can be hard to find but there are usual spots on the side by the apartments. This is a real big store with lots of options and inventory. Also like the clean bathrooms. Make sure to check date on produce. Also double bag so groceries don't fall thru flimsy paper bag. What a bad idea to move to the borders location. Didn't they know there would be a parking problem? Parking is such a hassle especially after work when I just want to pick up one or two things. Valet parking doesn't make things better since you waste time waiting for them to get the car. I'd avoid this store. read more

This is based on the Managers customer service. I love trader Joes but live in San Jose. I was excited to visit this new larger then normal location Weds before thanksgiving. My company gave us gift certificates of $25 for ANY grocery store. They did notify us that we need to talk to customer service first because its tricky to redeem. It was around 4:30pm. I walked in and that was the first thing I did the manager was a male at the time he was super friendly took a look and said go ahead and shop and just show it at the register. So I did and then when I was paying the cashier didn't know how to ring me up no big I explained to her I already spoke to her manager. She said he just left and now it was a new manager. This new manager walks over a Women thin &long hair. She concludes I can use it but only $10 dollars and doesn't even tell me this just inputs it and leaves and makes the cashier tell me! I apologized to the cashier and explained it's a gift certificate for $25 dollars. She called over the manager again who said " I will go ahead and add 15 more this time for you but you should be buying turkey and thanksgiving food" " We will do it this one time but never again" and walks away! she thinks she was doing me a favor ! EXCUSE me my company paid for this gift certificate you are not doing me a favor and how dare you tell me what I should be buying !! You have no right to tell me what I should be buying (which was dessert for thanksgiving and cheese for side dish) either way the reason I love trader joes is because it's so open and caters to all cultures and for a manager to say something so ignorant is disappointing. She has no idea if I am vegan or vegetarian or if my culture even celebrates thanksgiving !! The certificate was for food and that is what I was buying. Super disappointed !! I have been a loyal trader joes shopper for years and never had any issues most employees are awesome and always so happy and friendly even when the lines are super long ! read more

I expect quality grocery at Traders Joe's, however bought artichoke already prepackage and guess what? One of the four artichoke was molded. The other three looked find, however I felt sick to my stomach that night and end up in bed the whole day. I expect to see this type in discounted market such as Chinese supermarket, not at Trader Joe's. Very disappointing! read more

I have to say, I'm always INCREDIBLY impressed with this Trader Joes. I'm an avid Trader Joes shopper and go every single weekend. This location is super large compared to most so it never feels overly crowded. The parking lot is another story. It doesn't seem to matter what time of day I come or what day of the week it is, the parking lot is ALWAYS full! But braving the lot is definitely worth it because this location is my favorite. They have everything and never seem to be low on food, like other locations some times are. Today I was there and the manager was walking around asking customers if they were finding everything okay. And she seemed genuinely interested! So interested that I watched her strike up a lengthy conversation with an elderly woman about her life! Rarely do you see managers give this type of quality service anymore. I was incredibly impressed and honestly this is what moves this location into the five store category. read more

Absolutely the worst experience of any other stores. Twice in the row I buy produce that spoiled the next day, this time it was cucumbers and tomatoes. You have to watch milk otherwise they move older spoiled milk in front, so you end up with spoiled milk product. I really think their management team should go. How could you move into old Border's location? I will stop buying there because after you end up spending $70 - $100 you through food away. This time is definitely my last time in this store. From now on I will drive to Whole Foods. Who did the planning? What were you thinking? Parking is a pain because there are restaurants in the area, so you can hardly find parking either noon or at night. You have to shop early in the mornings. Afternoons when restaurants open you could spend several minutes looking for parking. Who needs it? You outdid yourselves this time Trader Joe's and your are presented with one less customer. not as crowded as the one in Cupertino and I hate crowded places. it's very organized and clean which is always a big plus. this use to be borders until tj's took over. it's a lot healthier and cheaper than eating at chipotle or Starbucks and pasta pomodoro. always friendly employees too. sometimes you'll hear someone ring a bell...never knew what that was until I asked the manager (I think) and he said if more cashiers are needed, an employee will ring the bell. cards available at info counter for 99 cents, but they're blank cards. if you haven't been to trader joe's, you're missing out on a lot!! they have some items you don't see all the time at a cheap/decent price. Like edamame for $1.99 (1lb) salted or reg. they're not shelled, but cheaper and the seeds are bigger than what you get at mitsuwa. they're also from the US so you don't have to worry about unsafe production in china, Thailand etc. mitsuwa has them for at least $1.99 too, but not worth it because of where they came from and the size of the beans. TJ is also known to have healthy, healthier versions and unique items, but not everything is cheap. some items can be a bit expensive like the straight aloe vera juice for $8 1gal(I think). cheaper than whole foods for sure and tj's will always be my go-to market for American groceries. I always end up spending more than planned though....if only they had a membership.... read more

I just bought a box of hummus with four flavors and it is expired for a week. Very disappointed with my favorite supermarket.

I appreciate this store for its convince and good service. That said they are a very busy location with really difficult parking. Plus someone dinged my car with a shopping cart since there isn't much space between the spaces. If you are familiar with Trader Joes you know they have a decent selection of produce and the basics. You'll occassionally find yourself heading to Safeway for the items they don't carry but it doesn't happen THAT often. All in all this is a good store just try to park further away to protect your car. read more

Same great products as the old store, but parking is atrocious. I've came here 3 separate times and have only been able to park in the parking lot once. The other times I parked at Osh. I don't know who in their right mind thought this would be a good idea to move this store here, but they certainly need to reevaluate it. My wife and I would rather drive to the Cupertino location than risk it in that lot. It's as bad as Sunnyvale Costco's death-zone parking lot. read more

first time coming here & im super glad i went to this location! it was clean & well organized. came here for the cookie butter & the cookie butter ice cream! wanted to try so many other things though but then I realized im not rich enough to buy the whole desserts aisle :( customer service was great! the lovely cashier told me that I have beautiful hair & I love when people tell me that I have beautiful hair or compliment my hair in general so that really made my day! read more

Trader Joe's Sunnyvale....why did you move to this location? I do like the larger store inside, but as practically all the Yelpers have mentioned, parking SUCKS. It sucked when Borders was there too. And it's not just finding a parking spot, it's getting in and out of the lot that's the real pain. On Saturday when I visited, you did have a guy directing traffic so people could cross to get to the store...are you planning to have someone do that all the time when it's busy? read more
