We have been coming to the Casual Inn for a few years now. It is an interesting restaurant with a combination of Italian, Portuguese, and seafood. They have a front and a back room with a full bar in the front. Tonight was the first night that the back was full so we sat out front. Usually there is no waiting for a seat either way. The staff is always friendly and the food is consistently good. My favorite is their baked stuffed shrimp. Rich and buttery stuffing on four good sized shrimp. They do it good and they do it right. They always have a salad, veritable side, as well as choice of potato. You absolutely must try the roasted potatoes! I would say they are roasted baby potatoes with a Portuguese influenced seasoning. They are extremely tasty! I am personally not a fan of clam boils (I know, what is wrong with me?); however, I have heard from quite a few people that their clam boil is very good here as well.

Great place for dinner. Chicken Marsala was prepared perfectly with a generous amount of mushrooms and sauce. Roasted potatoes delicious as was the house salad with Italian dressing. Entrees were served with fresh bread and dipping oil. Very good food and friendly people. Can't wait to return

I am so glad my husband and I decided to come here for dinner Friday night! It seriously is a hidden gem! The restaurant itself is cozy, and the seating is very comfortable. For starters, my husband and I both had a cup of clam chowder, it came out nice and hot, it was very thick and creamy, filled with tons of potatoes and quahogs, the salad was very cold and crisp and they had a very yummy blue cheese dressing. For dinner we both decided to go with baked stuffed shrimp and let me just tell you it was DELICIOUS! Again, the plates came out nice and hot, the shrimp were perfect size and they had a nice snap to them when you bit into it and the seafood stuffing was fantastic! Mashed potatoes were homemade and very yummy and believe it or not the peas were even flavorful! Our server, Melissa, was extremely friendly and very attentive. We immediately recommended this place to my parents and they went the following evening and they too loved it!! We will definitely be making this one of our favorite places!!

I love the food here, the menu is perfect and whatever I have ordered, I am always 100% satisfied with taste, quantity and service. The restaurant is definitely a local neighborhood establishment but welcoming to all. Have to say, the fish and chips are awesome. I am originally from England, so I am particular of my fish and chips, but whatever you choose, I am confident it will not disappoint. My one negative, parking can be a challenge on a busy night, but it shouldn't be a showstopper.

I went with the ahi tuna platter, which was set up almost like a charcuterie board, and it was excellent. Also grabbed a clam chowder, because... New England, and it did not disappoint. Caught the fourth quarter of the game, and the place had a great vibe. Crowd was lively, staff was friendly, and everything was clean and comfortable. If I end up back in that area again, I'll make sure to swing by a little earlier so I can check out the full menu. Solid spot all around.

The drink menu was not very extensive. Our Asian salad cups appetizer tasted exactly like an Asian salad mix I've bought at the grocery store and looked like it too - I'm convinced that's exactly how they prepared this. My veggie burger had burnt edges and wasn't too enjoyable flavor-wise. It didn't help my overall impression that when I got takeout here another time, they totally butchered my boyfriend's name when we ordered over the phone, and we had a hard time picking up our order because of this (how you get "Stephanie" from "Anthony," I just really don't know). I think this place just gets lucky having a good location across from Independence Park and being close to but just out of the way from downtown. Can't say I was impressed by the food - there are too many other good options in Bristol, I just can't say I'd recommend this to others. Perhaps it's improved since I visited, but it's a pass for me based on experiences I've had.

They had cookies and tarts that looked incredible (definitely going back to try those ), but we went for the classic vegan hot dog and it was so satisfying. After trying them at the fest, we're definitely planning a visit to their restaurant to explore more of the menu. There was zero interest or flavor and that she missed Basil & Bunny's crunch wrap. She is right. Basil & Bunny has so many great and delicious options that don't make me feel like our dietary restrictions are an afterthought. We don't have to eat uber bland and entirely green. If you want a fast food burger this is not the place. Your food won't come out in under a minute, but the staff is pleasant and friendly and the decor is fun. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and it isn't unusual to see a well behaved dog sitting under one of the tables outside.

Our server Sonny cheerfully greeted us, made food and drink recommendations, listened and catered to our allergies, and took our orders quickly and accurately. She went above and beyond to make sure my shellfish allergy could be accommodated by speaking with the kitchen staff and calling the owner. I was happy to hear that the smash burger and French fries were safe for my to eat, and they did not disappoint!!! I ordered a painkiller that was insanely reminiscent of the painkillers at The Soggy Dollar in the BVI. Highly recommend it! This place has many cool historical features that contribute to its charm. The burger I ordered (bacon cheeseburger with no bacon) was delicious. No complaints there and I will probably reorder. The only problem here was that I asked for sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, to which the waiter simply said okay. Turns out it was an undisclosed upcharge. Not only did he not tell me it would be $2.75 (or something like that) more, but the fries are listed as the same price online. When I told him that, he said that their online menu is really old (this is to say, don't look at it! and also, not sure why they wouldn't update it if they know it's incorrect). Sure enough, the printed menu also said nothing about an upcharge for a different fry, so ultimately I was able to remove the charge, but it was a little awkward and frustrating. My only other complaint is not particularly the fault of the restaurant, but I suppose just a side effect of the laidback vibes. A group of 7 or 8 people came in like 20 minutes after us and was so loud that I almost suggested we leave. My guess is they were drunk, but it was a Wednesday night around 6:00, so I wouldn't have expected that. They were so loud that I was yelling to my friend who was within arm's length. Totally changed the vibe and enjoyment for me.

Ordered the clam chowder which was very good. It leans towards a Rhode Island Chowder, which I prefer vs. the creamy New England Chowder. Nice flavor, and the dice chourico was visible . I only found it a bit salty and it was served with a Portuguese roll. I also ordered the Cacoila sandwich which was also served with on a Portuguese roll and I opted for the seasoned fries which were very tasty. The pork was tender and flavorful, but again a bit salty for me. I don't use a lot of salt and my tolerance and taste of salt is low. Otherwise the sandwich & chowder had some nice flavors.

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.
