We went for lunch/dinner and the food was incredibly average. You can tell from the food this place is supplied by one of the big food service companies as the food was obviously frozen then fried, grilled, etc... I had the fried buffalo chicken sandwich which was not a real chicken breast, but rather a fast-food type, super thin patty smothered in Red Hot sauce. It didn't come with cheese, but that's my fault for not reading the menu well enough. My wife had a burger, and it was also average. The sides of fries (both regular and sweet potato) were huge and tasted fine. The service was good. Overall, this place is OK, I wouldn't necessarily seek it our for lunch or dinner, but I also would not avoid the place. read more

We sunbird up here from mesa Az. its A great town and the people are wonderful. The food is superb! I love the hamburgers and the chicken basket. Honestly I haven't eaten anything else. The salsa was delicious and the chips tasted homemade. The service was ok. I would only return due to not many other options for places to eat out. 2nd time here. Hunting season last Nov and 4th of July weekend. Never had to wait to be seated, steady stream of patrons/families going in and out. Smiling servers and guests, immediately a good vibe when you enter. Love the rustic decor. Everyone enjoyed their food the 1st time, which is why we were all excited to come back the 2nd time. Juicy burgers, tasty tacos, crispy, not overly greasy fried fish. French dip was really good too, but I wanted to try something new this time. Prices are reasonable and the servings are hefty. Even if I had to ride a horse from Pinetop to Trail Riders I would certainly consider it! Live the Mexican food at this local spot. My hubby and I both had the Combination with the Timmy Taco and Cheese Enchilada and Rice and Beans. The ooey gooey Enchilada was bathed in saucy cheesiness. The Taco, an old school version, with a ground beef patty enveloped in a crispy deep fried shell was the best Taco I have had in ages. Love the chips and salsa- they even included flour chips! What? My wife and I came to Springerville, stayed next door at the Best Western and then had breakfast the next morning, before moving on to Flagstaff, AZ. We had just sat down at a booth facing the street and started talking. One of the local folks came up to the table, and stood there staring at us. My wife asked if we were in his favorite spot. Surprisingly, he said yes and acted if we were expected to move to a different table. Our waitress brought the drinks and said nothing. So much for the family atmosphere. He eventually noticed we were not getting up, gave me a dirty look, and went to another table. Upon arrival the breakfast(s) were nice, piping hot, and rather larger than expected. However "she that must be obeyed" enjoyed her breakfast with hot tea. My next visit was at lunch, and the place was busy. I ordered the Hatch green chili burger, and had a salad instead of fries (substitution costs $1.99). I grabbed a salad bowl and found the "salad bar" which was smaller than a single person table top. It had been hit hard, and the lettuce was very low, and wilted. Overall, below average, but I wanted a salad, and this was the best I could do at the time. The Hatch burger was next. The burger patty was ~ 6 ounces, well cooked, no seasoning, no cheese, lettuce, tomato, and small onion slice on the side. When I lifted the bun, it was untoasted, the patty was laid on the bottom half, and a piece of wet, canned, chili was placed haphazardly on the patty. No condiments on the side. I know what freshly roasted Hatch green chilis are, and when in season, I purchase, roast, clean, and freeze my own. Hatch, New Mexico is about 240 miles from Springerville, and these chilis had never been canned closer than that. Burger was OK, but the chili was sub par. Overall, a good place for breakfast, OK for lunch, but improvement can be made. read more

We didn't find anything special here. The $5.99 one-trip-through-the-salad-bar was priced right. We enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. One of us had the fish taco plate and another had the enchilada plate, and they were both ordinary. If you're looking for a filling meal, this is the place for you. Not a fan. Everyone raved about this place but I have not enjoyed one meal here. They buttermilk syrup is good but the pancakes were dry. I will try the waffle next time. The gravy is pretty horrible super plans and chalky like. My boyfriend enjoyed his mushroom swiss burger but I have yet to try that. I will give in one more to but I'm not a fan. read more

We were staying in Greer and saw this place with high ratings so we gave it a try for breakfast. I was craving pancakes and as I was reading the description on the menu it mentioned buttermilk syrup as one of their specialties. I have never heard of this before so I gave it a try. OMG - it was AMAZING!! I would highly recommend eating here and trying this buttermilk syrup! FYI - they also sell it so you can take some home. Yummy!! read more

Just went to Trail Riders this morning and it was hands down the BEST breakfast I've ever had in my life. And I'm a big breakfast eater! I had the huevos rancheros, which is a pretty common item. It had two corn tortillas stacked with tender shredded beef and refried beans between. The green chili sauce was amazing and the eggs a perfect over-medium. My husband had the "Big Wrangler," bacon, eggs, potatoes and pancakes... I'm not kidding when I say we talked about the pancakes and buttermilk syrup all day long. We discussed how amazing they were to the point that I decided I had to write a review (my first, actually). If you are staying in the white mountains and like pancakes, you will be doing yourself an injustice if you don't go there and try them!!! read more

Great food, prices were VERY reasonable and the service was fast and friendly. We had breakfast and our meals were outstanding! The biscuits were baked fresh (large, flavorful and perfect texture) and the gravy was also extremely fresh. We have been here a few times while visit Springerville. Each time we have had good service!! The food has been ok. The first time I ordered hot wings they were outstanding... the next time they were terrible. Chicken fried steak is great but their potato are terrible. We didnt have anything bad enough to stop us from coming back and trying something new. Plus the restaurant is clean and service is nice and friendly. So would we go back yes. Staying in Greer over Memorial Day weekend and needed a place to eat on Sunday this was the only place open. We gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised. I had the hatch burger which was flavorful. My wife got the enchiladas and said it was very good, even the beans and rice. For a place that does traditional American food and Mexican they pulled both off. The staff was wonderful Kamri (I'm pretty sure that was her name) was our waitress and she was very helpful and always smiling. I'd come here again for sure. read more

Came in on a Saturday for lunch and sat in the bar with a party of 4 adults and 2 kids. Open seating got us seated in the bar area quickly but that was the only quick thing about our visit. 45 minutes before our drink order was taken, another 20 mins for the drinks to get to us, and no one offered to take our order after 1.5 hours--there were less than 20 customers total in the place. There was only one poor waitress in the bar working her tail off to take care of anyone but she was all alone. No bartender or management to assist her because they were 'outside' at the time. We cashed out after drinks due to poor service. Get this poor lady some help! She deserves it. read more

Trail Riders is a great local resturant and a must try in Eagar. The service was phonemonal. Our waitress wasn't pushy and was very respectful. She took our orders and checked on us multiple times. The food was not the best, but still very good. I had the combination plate and it was great, but not the best. The fried taco was greasy but the enchilada was perfect. The rice and beans were a little much but very good none the less. The chips and salsa was the best part. With multiple types of chips and a great salsa, the appetizer was the best! Overall, I enjoy Trail Riders and recommend to every one in Eagar or Springerville. read more

Nice place for breakfast. Wife ordered pancakes. I ordered eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. Everything except my wife's pancakes came out nice. Her's had a hair in them. They took it back and remade them. Food was typical breakfast food. The buttermilk syrup was divine. Hard to mess up anything we ordered. Only other annoying things was drinks were left empty.
