Enjoyed a birthday dinner here with a nice selection of delicious pizzas and great Greek salad. All the staff were friendly and efficient. They did a nice job letting us know the COVID protocols in a non intimidating way. I will definitely come back to try more items on the menu. read more

Follow up to my last review from another account. I have been to Trailbend countless times. Always looked forward to my visits when I am in the neighborhood as my mechanic (been working with them for almost 20 years) is on the same block and one of my best friends lives a block away. Atmosphere is very unique and innovative! PRE-COVID I have traveled all over the world where I get to visit some unique venues. From my well traveled expertise, Trailbend has it going on. Love the outdoor seating! Food is really good. Menu items are unique and tasty. Beer selection is in-touch with countless beer options going on (always mixing it up) day-to-day in the heart of MICRO-BEER-LAND (i.e. Ballard/Freemont). Downside: pricey/spendy (I expect a lot more for my money and usually they don't let me down). My visit on Friday - by accident reuniting with my Mechanic Buddies and Best Friend (all regulars to Trail Bend). As of Friday, that will be my last visit and the Trailbend Staff staff on premise that evening can KI## my A##! read more

Great hang, my girlfriend thought they were playing modest mouse and it was the pixies, got to correct her and she thought I was super cool

This place could be a nice neighborhood hangout, good selection of beers and the food is ok but overpriced. The service here is not so good though. The staff is not very friendly nor attentive, and it took forever to get one pizza (55 min). My complaint is that the wait person didn't suggest that there would be a long wait and offer an appetizer or alternative. When they came back to check on me, they didn't ask if I needed anything or apologize for the wait, just to tell me not to let my little 10 lbs dog sit on the bench with me. After more waiting, no offer of food or drink (my glass was empty by now) and no explanation of delay. Just the receipt. You could do a lot better. read more

This was my first time in and I instantly noticed how much thought was put into making this space inviting, modern, and clean. The food was good and priced ok-I had a vegetarian sandwich and salad which I thought was tasty-for about $16. Beer selection is good and taps are attractively displayed. What didn't work was the customer service. We sat at the bar and Jason either had an off day or wasn't interested in providing quality customer service. We later heard him using insulting and inappropriate language while sitting at the bar which was post-shift I beleive, but a poor reflection of the business. I would give this place a second chance, but would recommend it to friends if there was a higher level of customer service. I see other negative comments regarding such on here. read more

Friendly Staff - Great Food - Endless Beer/Cider/Cocktails Selection - Visually Stunning Space - Easy Parking

Great another taproom...like we don't have enough in Seattle. So what makes this place different from the rest? Well for starters, they have some hard alcohol for those of us that enjoy a great beer, but might want a cocktail too. And they have great food. To top it off, the decor is great, they have a roll up for sunny days, which they opened today and last, but not least, our bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable. Wow! Can I give more than 5 stars? We found ourselves in Ballard and kid free for a few hours. I picked Trailbend because they had a great looking food menu, the food was great and so much more! Nice selection of beverages and great service as in attentive but not hovering and never felt like they were trying to turn the table. Music was the perfect volume you could hear it but didn't have to raise your voice to have a conversation. We well be back next time we are in Ballard. read more

What a disaster! We got starters and they were fine, and then we watched other tables get pizzas, one after another. After being told our pizzas would be right out, nothing. We finally discovered they hadn't been started yet... after an hour. So we cancelled, paid for our beer and bites... with no discount offered beyond "sorry." Beer and pizza and salads are not hard to find, so this place can go off your list. Too bad, but if the service is iffy and the kitchen incompetent, why bother? read more

To sum it up in a few words: this place was an enormous disappointment. In terms of physical environment, it's the typical Seattle trendy "pub" space with super high ceilings that create an enormous echo chamber. There were at least three televisions on plus (bad) music, and the place was about 3/4 full. It was utterly deafening inside. You could be next to screaming kids or you could be next to backward-baseball-cap-wearing "Bros," but you were going to be next to someone you didn't really want to sit with. The pizzas are small and outrageously expensive for what you get. They taste fine, but they certainly aren't anything special -- especially not at those prices. What really makes this place a "never going back" restaurant was the staff. Snippy, unconcerned with you, going through the motions, happy to let you sit there a while with empty plates before asking if you'd like your check. "Can we get a pizza without provolone? No. Can you take this root beer back because it's flat? No. It's supposed to taste that way." Unbelievable. People who complain about how difficult it is for small businesses to stay open in Seattle ought to take this pub as an object lesson. When the customer is always wrong, don't expect anyone to have any loyalty. read more

It's a taproom, so it's probably dog friendly, right? Ah - they serve food. Okay, no problem - I'll just tie my dog up outside. Excuse me? My dog has to be accompanied at all times outside of their establishment because what the dog could do to a passerby is their liability? In my nine years of tying my dog up in front of eating establishments all over Seattle I've NEVER heard such a thing - especially in a town as dog friendly as Seattle. I learned why they've decided to make such an unfortunate decision for their business - there was a bar fight over a nipping dog tied up outside on opening weekend. So ban dogs from being tied up outside - that should solve the problem. Why not also ban serving the alcohol that in all likelihood impaired the judgement of the fighters? Would make just as much sense. Okay - so all told - as ridiculous a rule as this is (and likely not enforceable- particularly once on the sidewalk) - I still would have been fine moving my dog elsewhere if the owner had been empathetic and kind in her explanation and request. Instead I had one of the rudest treatments possible - kindness be damned. I felt sorry for our server who then had to play tough guy in order to appease his boss, passively kicking us out by giving us our check unsolicited, halfway through our beers. Trailbend - so disappointed. Such high hopes for a cool looking, good tap selection establishment under the same owners as the Yard and the Dray. If your intent is to be a neighborhood establishment, being kind to your customers and more dog friendly would be a small ask from an otherwise getting-to-high-strung-for-our-own-good Ballard. read more

This is a nice neighborhood bar and restaurant if you're looking for a quick bite or a few beers. It's not special but the food is good enough. They have a couple of long tables outside. But you can't have your dog lying next to you or behind you when you are outdoors. Your dog has to be tied up to the rail that is on the perimeter of the outdoor tables because it's a health code violation. read more

Trail Bend opened 7 days ago and I finally made the trek to check out this new Ballard multi-tap. In a word: Solid. They had a wide ranging, current selection of beer from all over the west coast and Colorado. Note, that the taps were Washington-centric, but that is to be expected and appreciated. The space is open, airy, with plenty of room. The concrete floors and walls made for a somewhat loud, echo-ey afternoon as some tables got a bit loud. But the overall vibe was really enjoyable and I found the interior to feel like putting on your favorite sweatshirt. Just plain comfortable. Food-wise, I had the meatball sandwich and field green salad with a blue cheese-balsamic dressing. Wow -- both were great. The acidity from the salad and richness from a perfect meatball sandwich paired perfected with IPA's for the afternoon. The service was flawless, cheerful (not hovering), engaging and the kind of service restaurants dream of. Joe Bob says check this place out. It's offerings and service merit many returns. Only thing is I wish I could have added an extra ingredient onto the pizza, either way, the meatball one was awesome. Great addition to the Ballard food/beer/hangout scene. Impressive and diverse tap list, very knowledgeable staff, and a menu that has a little something for just about any mood you're in. I'm a little bummed they pushed the open time to 3:00 (enjoyed that 2:00 beer on a nice day) but definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking to try some interesting craft beers and a bite to eat. read more
