Trails End is one of the better locations to eat at Camelback. That said, it serves a captive audience and chooses to cut corners. PLAN AHEAD: Make reservations, especially for large parties or people who have to eat on a schedule. You can always cancel the reservations if you decide to go offsite. There was a night where it was going to snow and the hostesses were quoting two hour wait times at 5:45pm. Service is slow and it felt like the kitchen was always over capacity when we were there. SERVICE: Kudos to the hostesses who have to deliver bad news constantly in a cold drafty hallway. Servers were kind and had good knowledge of the menu, but were largely at the mercy of the kitchen. We had a show to make one night and barely got the food in time, even though we were explicit in our time restriction. FOOD: They can sell out of items and there are no real vegetables on the menu. If you like fried bar foods, you're in good company. Nothing was amazing. Lots of beer on tap though. VIBE: the best thing about Trails End is that if you get a window seat (huge wonderful windows!), you see the last hundred feet of the blue and black trail. We got to watch people do little jumps, wipe out, and careen down the hill, which was more fun than watching the football games on the wall. Location is very casual. Loved Trail's End! Such a nice chill place to grab lunch, dinner or a late night bite. During the day there's a nice sceanic view of the mountains. Our waitress Makila (pretty sure I spelled it wrong) was the sweetest and super helpful and attentive! We ordered the trash can nachos- so good! We also had the wings - a bit dry but still good. My kids had the chicken tenders, fries and pasta with butter. Great portions and reasonable prices. Also the espresso martini was really good. We had such a great experience we came the next night. We had Paula as our server she was also amazing! We had the smores dessert - the French toast was really hard. Regardless we enjoyed our time here and would def return. My only issue was the hostess Natalie omg she was so rude. She made it seem as if they were so busy to take us in and asked if we wanted to take our food to the room. Has this ever happened to you... you sit down, go to 'check-in' with Yelp, see an overall low rating and silently freak out because it's too late to run out? Thank goodness our experience was much different after I spied the rough reviews for Trails End. Heck - it was the only place we hit back-to-back because it was that good. First visit: one kid went with their 'steak frites' ("5 stars!" - although he was still shellshocked by his prior steak at a Cracker Barrel and was just happy this one wasn't breaded and well-done), another kid suffered through his habanero-mango wings and must've went through 5 glasses of water and 50 napkins. (Oh, but he loved them.) Myself and the Mrs. went with their French onion soup (oddly oily, served at an ungodly hot temperature) but it was really good. And we split a veggie panini that was fantastic. Second visit: mac-and-cheese (for one kid), Amish pretzel (other kid) and me and the Mrs. both got their taco salad. Lemme tell you... it was this second visit where I had to bump up my 4 to a 5-star rating. Everything was executed perfectly and after sampling a respectful amount of the menu we knew the chef in the back of that kitchen knew what they're doing. Resort-pricing but solid portions. To begin with, the visit to this restaurant was not planned. All the other restaurants were closing because of inclement weather. My last resort was to Trails End Pub and Grill although I never went there before, I thought it might be pricy. I still decided to go and the menu they had was a new menu they brought out. The FOOD! My goodness! The FOOD! It was heaven! Remarkable! The staff, top tier, from the starters to entrees. Perfect. I loved the ambiance. This was my first time at Camel and it was memorable experience and this place makes it even much better. I loved it. The Head chief, Jessica; personally came at our table and greeted us. Very average pub present at Camelback resort. With just a few spots available to our large group of skiiers/snowboarders, we came here given it's secluded nature compared to the central Sullivan Express area. It took a long time for being served even with two bartenders and the menu did not feel big. A few of us ordered the chili and reuben sandwiches - anything to keep us warm during our time away from the slopes. The chili was cooked well but the reuben sandwich felt saturated in grease and fat. The meat itself had a lot of fat. Many seemed to order the nachos which felt like a hit but maybe next time, we'll take a stab. Their beer selection is solid, though not impeccable, with a few staples like Stella Artois, Blue Moon and Miller Lite. They have frozen margherita and rose and multiple televisions built into the walls with sports. With the food being only average, staff being quite slow (yet very kind) and no clear drink specialties - I would call this place average at best. It's convenient due to the location and offers plenty of different seating arrangements (including indoors, tented, and completely outdoors) but should offer more to those wishing for a decent dining experience after spending a lot of money performing snow sports during the day. read more

Very surprised with this spot . My expectations weren't high due to a few reviews and the location inside a resort. Ended up being my favorite dinner during this trip for a work conference. This is the best place to eat the Camelback resort. Great pub food and I love the atmosphere, feels very lodgey and like a warm hug. Servers are very friendly and attentive. They switched management recently, and the menu has changed since we went in December 2018. It is losing a star because I miss the patty melt from that menu, it was my favorite. And I miss the lobster mac and cheese it was so good. Also the cocktails went down hill. They are like 12 dollars now and taste like juice. My cocktail was missing a coconut rim as well. Last year we got amazing 6 dollar peppermint cocktails. It had cherry brandy, peppermint schnapps and milk in it. They were so good the bar tender told us how to make it and we made it on Christmas ourselves. This time I got the French dip. Which was actually really good. Lots of meat and the bread was crispy and fluffy. Also the onion soup sauce was like crack. So addicting I could have just drank it all. My boyfriend liked his hamburger. And they still have those awesome beer battered steak fries! And prices are still super reasonable for the food. We got the smores for dessert. It was in a huge cast iron skillet and could have fed 4-6 people. We ended up leaving a lot behind. Would have ate more but the chocolate that was used was way too sweet. And there was no ice cream on the menu but they had some and served it to us. Vanilla with caramel sauce and it was very delicious. Also I got a hot chocolate. It had whipped cream and marshmellos on the top. Despite its great presentation it just tasted like slightly chocolate flavored water. Not very rich at all. We just had a great experience at Trails End. We came for a late afternoon meal and it was so much food and all of it so good. The pretzel was awesome and huge and the side sauces were yum. The salads were enormous- definitely recommend the strawberry spinach and the taco salads. The shell of the taco salad was light and not greasy and the ingredients were fresh and delish. There was enough chicken to share with the kids and everyone agreed it was yum. Don't bother with the kids menu if you have more than one kid - order the adult Mac and cheese. It comes in a huge cast iron and is soooo cheesy. Two kids and dad (after his salad and part of the pretzel) only got through about half of it. It's that big. The waitstaff was kind and cheery. We tried Trail End Pub and Grill on our recent trip to Camelback and were pleasantly surprised with the experience. We booked happy hour reservations in advance because we were unsure how busy the lodge would be. The food was great and the it had a nice view of the skiers coming down the slope. We tried the buffalo wings, bbq wings, and Mac n cheese and were really happy with the food. This is definitely worth checking out apres ski. One thing to note, it's a long walk from the main lodge entrance with limited signage. Otherwise it was a good experience with good service. read more

Ugh why does this place have to be so awful?!? We've been coming to Camelback for years and even though we already know the food is just pitiful here, inevitably we end up eating there on occasion simply due to lack of other options. It's just so frustrating because the food is bad - but like unnecessarily bad. And the experience as well! The severs are all super nice, but you'll get one entree really early, then the others 10 minutes later, followed by the appetizer when you're nearly done eating dinner. Any sauces or sides will show up around dessert time. Half of the food will be solidly average while the other half will be inedible (like brown lettuce, cold mushy pasta, etc). Again - WHY?!? It's been this way for years so I have to imagine that If anyone who ran this place actually gave a single care, they would have done something to improve it by now. Trails End Pub is located right at the end of the Nile Mile ski trail at Camelback Mountain. You can literally ski right to the front door of the pub. They have indoor, covered outdoor, and uncovered outdoor seating with a fire pit. I liked the atmosphere and convenience. I only had a couple of beers from the bar, but I was very happy with their beer and whiskey selections. There were eight to ten beers on draft with a focus on craft and PA options. The one macro on tap they I recall was Guinness on nitro which is pretty much the ideal ski cabin beer. Great variety of whiskeys too. They had a few varieties of Whistle Pig which stood out to me. One that's extremely rude and two if you guys want business and tips especially since you're located inside a family resort hotel. We came here because we came to the camelback mountain adventures. The Mac and cheese was a 2/10. The Kraft Mac and cheese is better then this. The BBQ chicken is bland, no seasoning. If it wasn't for the BBQ sauce, you'd be chewing on water. The Jasmine rice was a 7/10. The portion size of the rice for $9 is pretty pricey but that's what you expect from a resort. The potato salad was watery. The corn on the cob was probably the best out of everything. The drinks were not it. The "sweet tea" was basically brisk and the Sierra Mist & Lemonade were tasteless. Solid 3.5 I feel like the negative reviews are way overboard for this cozy spot in Camel Back. We had a little hiccup with communication, my friend made reservations and set up a cake to be presented and they seemed to be lost when we inquired- but they quickly got a table together for our party of 7. They ran out of crayons and kids cups which was a big disappointment, we were dining with our three combined children. The nachos were delicious, the grilled chicken addition was on point. The wings were really tiny, but the sauce was good. The pretzels and beer cheese were good, but the pretzels were just a little too salty. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the entrees, but my burger was way undercooked. The place itself is very appealing, you are sitting at the base of one of the ski slopes and the night sky glaring onto the snow really was breathtaking. Like everyone else they were short staffed but the staff they had did the best they could with what they had. food was expensive but you were in a vacation resort so I did not expect anything less however the food was also very good.
