Arguably the best food I've ever had in my life. As a picky eater, it's very hard to wow me but TK has definitely done it! Great food and drinks, good music, and such friendly staff. Would absolutely come here again!!

What took me so long to go to Huber's? It's only been here since 1872! In case you haven't heard…read moreit's the oldest restaurant in Portland. When a friend invited my sister and I to go, I whipped out my trusty yelp app and checked out ratings and menu. The menu looked fine-mostly traditional American style, featuring their turkey dinner and Spanish coffee. I wasn't that keen on turkey in August, but our friend ordered it and was pleased. My sister and I have pretty much the same taste and usually like the same things on the menu! We decided to split 2 entrees-the chicken special of the day and beef stroganoff. The first thing Summer, our server brought out was their beer bread. We wish we had the recipe. I loved it so much I'd like to make it at home. Then we got our entrees. The kitchen kindly split our orders so we each got 2 plates! It was a LOT of food! And we loved both! We couldn't decide which one we liked better! I can't remember what the chicken special was called but it had cherry tomatoes lightly sautéed in it and a flavorful sauce. Our friend wanted chocolate mousse for dessert , and we couldn't just sit there and watch her eat it so we ordered our own (no sharing this time!). It's dark and very rich. She also wanted to try Spanish coffee. They put on quite a show. They pour triple sec in the bottom, set it on fire and it melts the sugar they put on the rim. In goes rum & kaluah, and finally a little coffee and some whipped cream on top. We all tried it and WOW! It's potent! If that's your thing you need to get it! Three sips was more than enough for me. Summer was an outstanding server. She talked to us like we were old friends, made suggestions and was just lovely in every way. Go to Huber's! It's really fun, delicious and the roomtakes you back to yesteryear.

I highly recommend the flaming coffee, it's made at table side. I also was blown away by the half and half turkey and ham dinner, tasted even better than my grandma's thanksgiving dinner (but don't tell her that).

We were celebrating my son's 16th birthday, and the team made the evening feel special from the moment we arrived. They seated us by the window, had a birthday card waiting for him, and every staff member we interacted with provided exceptional service. The food exceeded our expectations. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly and was exactly what we expected for a restaurant at this price point and in this location. To top it all off, they surprised my son by adding a candle to his dessert, making the celebration even more memorable. Overall, it was an outstanding dining experience, and we will definitely be back.

Those two boxes were checked but the rest of the 2 and a half hour visit was abysmal to say the least. I made a reservation a week before, knowing this place offers the best views in Portland, & hoping to solidify a great spot with our meal - no. The hostess said our best bet would be to sit in the lounge, we accepted & did as such. It was a decent amount of time until we received water - our ordered beverages came significantly later. We didn't order our main dish until 10 minutes before closing. When we ordered an over $100 bottle of wine we were met with an eye roll and sigh of frustration because our waiter was overworked & didn't have time to care about what we, as paying customers, wanted. I want to be clear that I do not fault our waiter for his reaction because he was visibly overwhelmed throughout the entirety of our visit. I am significantly disappointed in the customer service - as horrendous and incredibly long even the smallest requests took. If I make a reservation for 7:30 and leave the restaurant at 10 - after having reminded the staff several times of what we wanted or needed that is indicative of the establishment and management not the individuals. The food prices are not reflective of the overall service and experience. To be frank, if you (as an establishment) do not have the bandwidth to cater to your customers needs, then the prices should coincide with the experience, or hire more staff to fill the gaps that exist. I am genuinely saddened that my mom and I, who both love a great restaurant experience, left dissatisfied and disappointed in her celebratory dinner. The food was great. But not great enough to overcompensate for the overall nature of the experience.

An entire multi-page menu of herbal teas that includes historical information about how the different ingredients had been used by indigenous populations? Yes please! After wanting to visit Javelina for a long time I finally got the opportunity to a couple weeks ago. SO GOOD! I got the bison chili, some fry bread (of course! ), the three sisters salad, and some tea. The chili was SUPERB, and the fry bread was the perfect dipping accompaniment to it. The three sisters salad had such a good flavor balance, with the squash giving a perfect hint of sweetness against the other ingredients. I love herbal teas (my mom grew her own herbs and would make all different ones for us growing up), so it was such a delight to see the huge variety of in-house-made herbal teas available. I forget the name of the one I ended up picking (I think it was something like three tribes). It was great and exactly what I was looking for). The ambience in the restaurant has a lovely simplicity that feels like it suits it perfectly. I can't wait to come back and try their brunch some time. Oh, and before I forget, the service was on-point. Everyone being lovely and accommodating.

Fry bread was good but the toppings were lacking something, very little protein, a bit basic. Offered was a bottle of tapatío, was expecting more of a house made salsa or garnish, maybe I've become boujie. The taco took almost an hour to arrive to my table. Not sure if the waitress forgot about us or staff attending larger parties but it was a bit of a wait given that it was not busy, only had one waitress working. Table behind us got there orders within 15 minutes of ordering, so kind of perplexed about the wait. Luckily, the neighbor across the street was cutting his very dry grass so that was entertaining. The bannock cinnamon roll cup saved this visit, arrived in between eating my taco . It was delicious but needed a knife to tear it apart, had a lot of give.

We are typically brunch people, making it here most often on a Saturday or Sunday for a late brunch. Their benedicts are to die for... truly, they're all wonderful. Their Laser Potato is out of this world. Truly, my favorite item on their menu. It is fabulous in all ways. I often take a side of it home just to enjoy later. We recently tried them for dinner. Their muscles are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Truly, the best I've ever had. This beats living in the southeast on the coast, any west-coast seafood restaurant, and every place I've ever enjoyed in Italy. They've certainly topped the muscle game. Highly recommend Olympic Provisions. I will gladly vouch that the negative reviews are from the haters, just to hate. The overall experience has never been anything less than fantastic. Photos to follow (hopefully, if I can find them! HA!) Enjoy OP next time you're in PDX!
