Trattoria I 4 Leoni is an excellent place for genuine Italian food in Florence, ideal for any event or gathering. The restaurant is open daily from 12-11 PM and is conveniently located on the corner, offering plenty of outdoor seating. Although it's not required, reservations are advised, particularly during weekends, when the restaurant becomes busy. When we arrived the welcoming staff greeted us promptly, and because we had a reservation, we were seated without delay. The atmosphere indoors felt cozy and welcoming. It had soft lighting, exposed brick walls, and vibrant artwork. The seating outside also looked like the perfect spot to have a long dinner in the summer and spring. Both areas featured small and large tables, making it suitable for various group sizes. There was an extensive wine list. And the food Italian menus were already placed on the table.
The service was outstanding all evening, with our waitress offering wonderful suggestions. We began with prosciutto, coccoli, and stracchino, which offer a wonderful mix of salty, crunchy, and creamy tastes. For our primary courses, we sampled baked lasagna, penne pasta with tomato sauce, pici with sausage and fennel, and tagliatelle with ragù. The lasagna baked was hearty and tasty, although the sauce varied from the typical red sauce commonly seen in the U.S. The penne, while a basic meal, possessed a remarkable depth of taste. The tagliatelle with ragù was another highlight, and we would gladly choose it again. Something to look forward to for the next visit was the dessert. Other tables got the tiramisu, and it looked amazing.
The restaurant draws in a variety of customers. In the early evening, we observed many students and young couples. However, as the night went on, larger gatherings of middle-aged residents occupied the area. Around 8:30 PM, the combination of tourists and locals enhanced the restaurant's authentic atmosphere. Regarding pricing, the expense ranged from approximately 25 to 30 euros per individual, based on the selected dishes. Dishes featuring meat often came at a higher price. The meal's quality was well worth the expense. Although Google Maps directed us via an alley to reach our destination, it was fairly straightforward to locate. Overall, Trattoria I 4 Leoni is an essential stop in Florence. It provides tasty cuisine, excellent service, and a welcoming ambiance. Whether you're a visitor or a resident, it's a fantastic spot to savor a classic Italian dish and gather with friends or family. read more
