After moving into the area we've always heard locals mention Venice pizza. So we decided to give it a try. Surprisingly after ordering and bringing it home we were pleasantly surprised. They did not skimp on toppings. The car smelt great driving home with the pizza in the passenger seat. Inside it's a pretty simple pizza set up with a small seating area. Cooler filled with beverages and the ordering counter. Coming from NY, I'd definitely say I prefer this type of pizza over Ledos. Crust had a good bite, cheese and toppings were flavorful. We did order the garlic knots which were just ok in our opinion, but a huge portion. For us maybe just a bit over cooked than we typically like so a bit on the tougher side. Would not recommend this place for crabcakes or for accurately getting your delivery order (forgot the coleslawO). Crabcake was dry (and definitely not lump crabmeat), no plastic "silverware" included (so I ate with my fingers) and although the delivery representative was very polite, it was too late to ask that they make good on my order. We have been on the roads for weeks, moving from IL back to MD. You do actually get tired of eating out , especially now when it's in bags, and containers and delivered or picked up by you. Our hotel had a little rack of menus for places that deliver here regularly. We have ordered here twice. (11/27 & 12/2). It has been solid, good quality delivery food on both occasions. They were decently on time, at least close to when they said it would arrive. The food was well packaged and was reasonably warm. Have had pastas dishes, salads, and wings. Will certainly try the pizza at some point. Within the confines of our diet plans (we had collectively at one point lost 100lbs+)...we are now both avoiding scales until Jan!, we will get food from here again for sure. read more

Finding a random pizza spot is always highlight of a late night road trip. Although Venice Pizza didn't have the highest quality pizza, it 100% hit the spot. We ordered the XL cheese pie for $13 special. Overall the pizza was solid. However it was EXTREMELY cheesy and hella oily. The cheese was good and was layered with seasonings but the sauce was too watery. This caused the cheese to constantly slide off. The crust was nice and thin but was still chewy. The structure of the pizza was the problem. The pizza definitely hit after driving for four hours but definitely could have been better. We also ordered the cheesy garlic bread to taste. Not sure if they are under new ownership but their pizza was terrible today! Skimpy amount of cheese and toppings. Toppings far from edge. I like a little crust... not 3-4 inches. Small shop right off Route 1. I stopped in for a takout order, my first time trying this establishment. I got the lamb gyro platter. When I got home, I was very pleasantly surprised! The gyro was exactly how I like it, not too much meat, plenty of veggies, and tzaziki on the side. It came with a full size Greek salad which was super fresh. I don't know if the ownership changed or these people just decided to be a family of trashy panda. I used to be a HUGE fan of them and I'd rather DIE than to eat their $hit ever again. The customer service is rude AF, food quality has gone down the effing toilet, this is NOT the Venice we know. The wings were so dried to a point where we couldn't even bite into it, the pizza had almost NO cheese on it, and the fries looked like it was latching into its last breathe (super soggy and lame). We didn't even eat it, luckily our trash can was near by. I don't know what happened. Arrived at the airport hotel, the restaurant had just closed. So we ordered a pizza from Venice Pizza. It took an hour for the pizza to be delivered. However, we were having beers in the hotel bar, so the wait was no trouble. When the extra large pizza arrived, it was devoured in a few minutes by four of us. So I'm pretty much loving their veggie quesadilla! They set you up with salsa and sour cream and ketchup for the fries. We have also tried their pizza and we liked that. They have delivery but we live close enough that we don't mind going there and waiting for our order. Nothing fancy, but they have two or three tables to dine at if you need to eat on the run. Great service, quick delivery, yet horrible pizza! We ordered a large meat lovers with black olives and Krazy fries. The pizza was soggy due to the grease and the crust was pretty much non-existent. The pizza lacked flavor and reminded us of something one could prepare at home using frozen dough. The Krazy fries weren't too tasty either because the fries were soggy. Overall, we were confused and disappointed at how fries could be botched. They might just have too many items on their menu causing them to spread themselves thin by being the jacks of all trades, but master of none. In fairness, the two stars are for the decent customer service while ordering via phone and the swift delivery service. When I called I asked for 2 spaghetti with meat sauce kids meals and 2 side salads. I asked for meat sauce instead of meatballs. I was told that I could not get the meat sauce in a kids meal it only came with meatball, but I could get the spaghetti with meat sauce in the adult meal. But he refused said he could only do that in adult meal so I said ok then I will take 1 spaghetti with meat sauce adult meal and 2 side salads. OMG --- what a fantastic place. We were on our way back to NY from D.C. when our bus got a flat tire. Correct. Bus. Between the restless kids and grumpy adults as a result of this mishap, my boyfriend and I decided to order pizza to soothe the scenario. Called Pizza Hut - about after a 15 minute run around, they were no help. Come in Venice pizza and their friendly staff!! With only 20 min to spare (the tow trucks arrived shortly after placing our order) a woman called us back to get our exact location. Walked her step by step and as the bus was loading back up she pulled up to the side of 295N. Needless to say, she saved the day!!! And yes, we did order enough pizza for all on the bus. Truly grateful for the service. The pizza... delicious. Cheese melting off as we shared slices and a healthy dose of toppings. While the food is great (most of the time) the service and delivery is spotty. My family has been ordering from this place for 10+ years. The pizza is amazing, but that's only if you catch them on a good day. The food is either great, or it's delivered freezing cold and late. They often forget food and never bring it back or completely forget to add to the order even though you asked for it. Really good food here! They have a nice variety of salads for you to choose from if you are trying to eat healthy. My nine-year-old nephew who is a picky eater absolutely loved their grilled chicken salad. I've been trying to find more healthy food options to give him as opposed to the typical chicken nuggets and macaroni that you would normally find on a children's menu. This place also makes really good crab cakes for a pizza restaurant. I ordered through the Yelp eat 24 app and the order arrived much sooner than the estimated arrival time. I'm surprised by all the bad feedback. Granted Ive only gotten pizza and wings from here but both have always been delicious and perfectly cooked. Delivery sometimes takes a bit longer then expected but food is still good. Glad we gave this place a try. Will try other items soon. Update ... so we went here again because we really thought this place was awesome. We received our wings and they were over cooked. So much so that the chicken on the inside was hard. When we called to complain the guy on the phone (12/28/17 around 9:30pm) we were told there was nothing that they could do and that's how they cook their wings. I wish there were a way to rate half stars, I feel it should get a sliver more than 4. With last nights insane storm shutting down the power to most everywhere my husband and I decided to stay at the Sheraton tonight. For lunch I was really craving something similar to Filippos, which is our favorite local Italian joint to get delivery from in Patterson Park. So naturally I got on Yelp and decided to try this place out. We ordered a large pie, half mushroom and pepperoni, half grilled chicken and olive and a side order of chicken tenders with fries. The pizza is really great here, I think I actually prefer it over Filippos! Just a little bit, but it's that tasty. It's cooked in a way that the toppings are part of the pie, rather than extras plopped on. The mushrooms were nice and cooked rather than what typically happens where they are still wet and only slightly warmed, sitting on top of the cheese. By the way, the cheese is delightfully stretchy and not very greasy, even has nice toasty browned spots. My husband really enjoyed the pizza, and after how much he talks about missing his usual fare in Italy, that always means something. (that does not mean this pizza is similar to Italian style pizzas, which it's not, it's just good enough for him to enjoy it after being used to eating non-American pies) I don't know what they do to the fries, if it's the potato they use or maybe the seasoning or what but they are GOOD. Chicken tenders were your regular run of the mill chicken tenders, yummy and juicy white chicken breast meat. Came with a tasty, assuming homemade, BBQ sauce. As I have specified numerous times in my reviews, I am not a bread lover and, hence, pizza is something I tend to stay away from. HOWEVER, Venice Pizza is actually really delicious. They don't carb you all up and load a thick crust or an ample heavy bottom. Most of the pizza is what you want ON it. For some reason their cheeses are incredibly better than other pizza joints and the toppings they use are constantly fresh. Unfortunately, John and I live too far for delivery but if I lived directly in Elkridge--we would use them 100% of the time. Venice Pizza's customer service has always been on-point too and they are continuously super nice over the phone and likewise in person. I would say ever since Venice Pizza opened in 2000 this is the only place I will actually eat pizza from--otherwise I need to be severely intoxicated to eat pizza. read more

It was completely AVERAGE pizza place in Elkridge near Green Valley and all the gas stations (Hess, Exxon, Shell). It's almost like they strive to be average. The sign is nondescript. They sit right next to a Dunkin Donuts. And they have all the typical pizza, subs, fries. That's all I have to say about it. Not bad, not great. Finally gave Venice a go after living in delivery range for the past 4 years. On their newest menu, they have either their best or most popular menu items highlighted. For a first try, that made it easy to get a sense of their food. I ordered the Krazy Fries, Tiramisu White (I'm admittedly a white pizza snob), and buffalo cheesesteak. First off, credit where credit is due, the krazy fries were legit, with a capital K. The rest of the meal kind of went downhill from there though. The tiramisu white could be summed up with two of its ingredients: the spicy banana peppers that dominated the palette and honestly just felt out of place, and the bland dollops of ricotta that were terrible in taste and texture, and had no synergy with the rest of the pizza, which was bland and typical. The buffalo cheesesteak basically tasted like a soggy mess of buffalo and bleu cheese sauce - not very good. Given the countless other pizza+subs options available in the area, I'm gonna take a pass on giving Venice another go. read more
