I grew up in this town, and it is by far the local favorite for dining out. It has a casual, cozy elegance that invites you to stay awhile. The core menu is always delicious but the specials are also always something worth ordering. We ordered this every single week during COVID quarantine. Service is always impeccable, here at Enzo's. This place gives you the small town, intimate feel. In terms of fine dining, LaPorte is limited and this place tops the market along with Spire. My favorites: 1) sausage and pepper appetizer 2) Marco pizza 3) house salad 4) nightly stuffed chicken special 5) nightly risotto special 6) pecan ball dessert 7) and, of course the cucumber martini, which always puts me in a good mood There was a little delay in getting out entrees which was only slightly noticeable. The manager/owner came by the table without prompting and apologized and informed us of an oversight and that he would "comp" our two appetizers. Since I sipping on my Veramonte Sauvignon Blanc, I really didn't mind the wait. His two visits to the table was unnecessary but much appreciated! If you are in the area, look no further than Enzo's for a cozy, comfort Italian dinner. read more

Best Italian dinner I've ever had. Honest to God. From the wine to the calamari to the spinach ravioli, there was not a single missed step--everything was perfect. The freshest ingredients outside of an Italian Kitchen, a pleasant, relaxed, warm, and inviting ambiance, great service, and prime location all made for an amazing evening. Kris, our server, was super nice and competent and patient; I would love it if we had her again on a future visit, and let me assure you, we will be back. I went here for my birthday on a Tuesday evening. The service was excellent. The hostess was gracious and the waitress was attentive and made sure to answer all the questions my wife and I had. So it started out well. For dinner: Bourbon (1 ice cube), Nailed it! Calamari (tasted like rubber dipped in flour and spritzed with water...not good.) Filet Mignon (I asked for it cooked medium rare, and there was pink in the middle, but it was tough as nails. It did taste like it was flame cooked). Risotto Del Giorno (this was disappointing as it tasted like it came straight from the frozen food isle in Al's. There is literally nothing special about this dish) Potato-Leek Soup (should be called potato-chicken-stock soup. It tasted like liquidy-mashed-potatoes thinned out with chicken stock. There was zero hint of leek in this. Disappointed). Needless to say, the bill was around $60. I suppose for the volume of food, the price was right, but the quality was sub-par. Neither my wife or myself will go back nor would we recommend this restaurant to people coming into town. It has the look of a nice place, but we were over dressed in jeans, button-downs, and nice shoes. For the appearance, the food should have been much better. I hope it hires serious cooks for weekdays or changes the menu. It definitely needs a pick-me-up. read more

I came here for dinner last night with my parents and really enjoyed our dinner. I had the stuffed chicken with roasted red peppers, cheese and spinach. Wonderful food and great family atmosphere. Everything is good, but the asiago cheese appetizer is especially wonderful. I don't know how they get the tomato sauce to taste so garden fresh, you'd swear they just picked the tomatoes! Also a very good value compared to other area restaurants. This is our go too if we don't want to drive far for a 5 star meal. My favorite would be the risotto dishes. DO NOT ask for water as their tap water is horrible. Not their fault as LaPorte has horrible water. Their cold tea is awesome though so go that route. This place is the pride of our city among few others. read more

Enzo's is definitely one of the nicer restaurants in La Porte Indiana. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming with accents of string lights and dimmed lamps. We got the tortellini marinara and a side ceaser salad and it was both excellent! To end the night we got a cannoli that also held up to Enzo's standards! Overall the service was great and our waitress was very attentive and the food was great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice night out. read more

Located in the heart of downtown La Porte, IN, this is NOT the type of place I expected to find in La Porte, IN. We went there on a Friday night at around 7:30. There was a rather long wait. From what I hear, there is a rather long wait all of the time here. The looks of this place can be deceiving. It looks as if it is in a very large building, but when you walk in the dining area is not very big at all. The waiting area was even more cramped. We were told that it would be about a 20 minute wait. It kind of perturbed me that the actual wait was 40 minutes. We started out with an order of calamari and marinara sauce. It was decent calamari and the marinara sauce had a little bit of a kick to it. I am kicking myself because I can't remember the name of what I ordered. It was bow tie pasta in a creamy white sauce with peas and prosciutto. It was very good The service here is very good. The atmosphere is simple yet effective. The wine list and the menu itself has a good selection but does not overwhelm you. I would like to try some more options the next time I am out here. read more

I am Enzo, Enzo the baker. OK, sorry couldn't resist the Godfather reference. We have been to Enzo's several times and it is one of the best restaurants around. It is a quaint little restaurant in downtown LaPorte that serves up some terrific Italian food. We were able to call ahead to secure a table, which you pretty much need to do as this place is not too big. My wife and I were joined by her sister and husband. Wouldn't you know that we got the exact same things? They have a sweet "dinner for two" option which includes a soup or salad starter, a pizza or pasta and dessert to share for $30. The minestrone was great on this chilly afternoon after getting soaked watching the Irish. Pizzas for the ladies, which they enjoyed. Penne with Sausage, EVOO, sun dried tomatoes and fresh basil for the guys. My brother in law wolfed down the dish. Can't say I blame him, it was very good. Since we had to run to grab the kids, they pack our Tiramisu to go. Service was a bit off, but they still got us in and out pretty quickly. It wasn't expensive at all and you can really get a ton of food for what you pay. However, they suffer from the same problem just about every place around here has. Smoke. And a lot of it. We were sitting pretty close to the bar and smoke was just rolling out of there. Not appetizing at all. Enzo send the smokers outside and you'd have a 5 star establishment with more patrons. read more

i love enzo's! this is not the place to go if you're looking for diet food. it is the place to go for good, fresh, italian food. the atmosphere is cozy and romantic - or maybe that's just 'cause i was there w/ my now husband. i wouldn't think that this is the place to go for a birthday party, or where you'd bring small children. it's more the place to go for lovers, girls night out, anniversary party, family gathering. it's mature and grown up, and it's for the side of you that likes some fancy. i have had the gorgonzola & asparagus chicken both times i've been. and each time is just as exciting in my mouth. fresh cream.....mmmmm my husband had the mushroom ravioli w/ red pepper bruschetta.....just as good, and fresh. i love fresh food! and bread - their bread and butter is so fresh. as a rule i do not eat bread w/ meals. i think it's gross. but fresh baked bread, that has never sat in a bag? i cannot resist. and i'm not sure, but i think they get fresh churned butter (it doesn't have that "refrigerator" air taste to it) and they have gelato! their banana fudge gellato is to die for! the waitstaff is friendly, and unassuming. you barely know they're there (i am not a fan of overbearing service staff, i like when i get what i need and they just disappear, breezing by and paying attention to your needs.) i love laporte for the antique mall tour, so any chance i have to go back i will definitely be eating at enzo's! read more

Came for husband's birthday. Didn't mention birthday, but wish we did, since we got sat in the worst table of the house, right next to the curtain to the kitchen. Actually, it was kind of entertaining watching the near misses of catastrophe of wait staff vs wait staff, and wait staff vs restroom patrons next to the curtain. We were asked for our drink order. All carafes that were inquired about were Italian wines. As soon as these words left birthday boy's mouth, I kicked him under the table. The question was "What region of wine is -I can't remember the name, but it was a red wine- from"? The answer given was "Italy". Ordered vegetable lasagna (good) and a salmon (not good) entree. The garlic mashed potatoes were frickin awesome, maybe the best I've ever had. read more

I came here with my brother and his three kids at last minute while on vacation last week. It was pretty good for this area. I had the farfalle con pollo which was pretty tasty. Chicken was sort of dry and tasted exactly like chicken on my pasta dish at Brewsters so maybe they all order from same place! My brother really enjoyed his minestrone soup and the kids got cheese pizza and my niece ordered extra sauce with her kids pasta and it took a while to get it but they were pretty busy. Service was just ok. Hostess was real nice but waitress acted like we were putting her out just by being there. read more

I love this place! I have been here a handful of times during my 7 months in La Porte. The staff is always friendly. Their food is pretty good. They have a well rounded alcohol beverage selection and the atmosphere is romantic yet casual. I have had a couple of unmemorable pizzas there and you can pass on their starter bread. Winners are the stuffed eggplant, spinach and artichoke dip, and most of their specials... most recently the stuffed pork and crab stuffed mushrooms. We go here when I get in the mood for spaghetti & meatballs. Was never a big fan of the said dish until I tried it here. Holy cow this dish is amazing!! The meatballs & sauce have awesome flavor!! I have to order extra meatballs because Isabel (wife) loves them too. (It's rare when her & I agree on any food). Isabel ordered their stuffed chicken and loved it. The service was great! Great food! I have frequented the area for years now, and actually lived in Laporte area for a while. Hadn't actually eaten here until last night. We were driving around trying to decide where to go, and I just said let's try here. I had seen lots of advertising and some word of mouth... They had just opened and we were probably the first people there. Very friendly staff and good, fresh food. This is an upscale, modern Italian restaurant with above somewhat average menu prices. The food is worth the money. Fresh, warm bread and oil... Best bruschetta I may have ever had... Very attentive waitstaff. Worth a try for sure! We will be back read more

With the social distancing and being cooped up at home for days, we decided to get carry out from Enzo's last night. Everything was delicious, even the leftovers the next day. My son got the spaghetti and meatballs which he said was "amazing and no you can't have a bite". I snuck a taste of the spaghetti and it was delish. Can't speak for the meatballs though because they disappeared in a flash. My husband had the Bianco pizza that has sliced artichoke hearts, prosciutto & basil - the perfect blend of delicate flavors. We split the Enzo salad which is very tasty with super fresh ingredients that are diced. I love their balsamic dressing! I had the chicken risotto which was creamy and had a slight bite to it, not mushy at all. The grilled chicken had great flavor and the whole dish had a nice balance with caramelized onions, diced tomatoes and sweet green peas. Yum!! It's a bummer that we aren't able to dine in right now because the staff is so friendly and the space is so inviting. But I'm thankful Enzo's is still open during these unusual times for carry out. Call them up and place your carry out order! It's so important to help keep these small businesses open so we can continue to enjoy them for years to come. read more

In town for business, we kept passing a billboard with their name and a short description of the food. By far the best place we ate while in LaPorte. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, it was delicious. The sauce was rich and flavorful and the meatballs were equally as tasty. Also ordered the fried calamari which was the best I've had. read more

We were staying in LaPorte while exploring the dunes and came across this gem of a restaurant. Fantastic Italian food, fantastic service and the best meal we had all holiday. The staff were friendly and helpful but I know that means nothing if the food isn't good but trust me it was. I had the Salsicca Penne which may sound boring but it wasn't. The spicy sausage contrasted nicely with the artichokes and fresh basil. Penne was cooked al dente to perfection. The rest of the family had a gluten free choice, Farfalle Con Pollo, Spinach & Roasted Garlic Ravioli and the classic spaghetti and meatballs. Pretty much all the plates were cleaned off which tells you the quality of the food. There was not a lot of room left for dessert but I had to have the tiramisu. This can be hit or miss but here definitely a hit. The balance of coffee and marscapone was perfect. Total bill for 5 of us came to just below $120 which I thought was very reasonable. Enzo's is definitely an Italian restaurant you have to check out, whether you live in LaPorte or just traveling through. read more

I was very excited to have "good" italian food (aka NOT Olive Garden) but I was, sadly, disappointed. We started with the calamari. Unfortunately, that was overcooked and that makes it very chewy. We then moved on to soup/salad. My "minestrone" tasted EXACTLY like Chef Boyardee "Beefaroni" without the "roni". It was crazy! Everyone at the table agreed. The salad dressing options are two: balsamic or caesar. Unfortunately, my girls don't care for either. I was surprised that an italian restaurant didn't offer an italian dressing. They ate their salad dry. The pumpkin gnocchi tasted like raw dough. It was so bad that my step-father had to send it back. My pizza was bland and my daughter's cheese tortillini was reminiscent of another boxed cheese pasta. The meatballs were HUGE but very dense. Dessert was good but not exceptional. I have never had so much negative to say about one dining experience and I am sad that it was at a local eatery that I had high hopes for. read more
