It's been a while since we've dined here and we won't be going back. The food was just not memorable or spectacular for the money. I really wanted to love this place but just didn't. The handmade pasta was all very nice, but my food was just too salty and I had to send it back. Waitress was very nice to make me something else, and it was ready fairly quickly. The menu descriptions are not clear. We ordered the calamari and shrimp for our table and when it came, it was a bowl of soup. The fettucinine carbonara was really a fettucini alfredo sauce. On a good note, the best part of the meal was dessert. We had the in-house made mascarpone cheesecake with the caramel sauce. That was wonderful, and I highly recommend. The staff was very nice. I came here for dinner on a Monday night with my family. The place is very cozy and tight with not much room to move around, but it's a very cute place. Service was pretty good, but I do wish the entrees came out a bit faster. This could have been an issue with the time we went though. Food was alright. The free bread is pretty solid, but I wish it had a bit more burrata in it. The polpette was ok, nothing to write home about. The carpaccio was really good, but the portion size was really small. For my entree, I ordered the gnocchi. The portion size was great, but the gnocchi itself was a little too much like paste without a chewy texture. The pricing of the restaurant is good though, and this would be a great place to take a date to. read more

We had reservations for my mother in laws 70th birthday. We had a party of 10, and on the phone when my father in law was making the reservation, they asked whether it was all adults in our party and my father in law answered yes. When we arrived, we had a 2 week old baby and a 1 mo old baby since 2 of my family members had just given birth. They told us that they couldn't serve us because they only allow kids and adults ages 14 and up. No one in the party thought nursing babies and mothers wouldn't be allowed in the restaurant, but apparently they aren't allowed. We won't be going back there. Who would have thought a silent, sleeping 2 week old would mess up the vibe? I'd argue most 14 year olds would be more disruptive but maybe that's just me. Oh well. read more

Such a lovely birthday dinner! The ambience inside is dim lit and cozy, with a nice upscale restaurant feel. I got a cocktail that was very strong and delicious. We started with the carpaccio, which was fresh and refreshing. All the entrees were delicious too and very well made. I also got a special birthday dessert, which was really sweet of them. We have heard so many nice things about this restaurant and we finally came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. It is usually packed during the weekend (they don't allow children under 14), but it was easy to make a reservation on a Sunday evening. We were greeted and sat at the main dining room. We started with a bottle of wine. The bread! I love the bread, crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The perfect vessel for the sauce. I had to stop myself from filling up with it. We ordered the veal parmigiana and orecchiette. The veal chop is so big! It was tender and delicious! The orecchiette was garlicky and plenty of sausage. The garlic was a little burn, but I didn't mind it. It was very fragrant and pasta was cooked al dente. There were many birthday celebrations that night and we followed suit and ordered the flourless chocolate cake and they place a candle on top. I'll have to say that was my least favorite thing here. Ambiance: Really nice lighting, music, tablecloths, spacing of tables throughout the restaurant. Cocktails: Good but not excellent. Service: Friendly but if we had not let the server know we wanted to take our time before each course, we would have been in and out of there in no time. Although she respected our request, we could tell this was not the norm, as most tables around us turned quickly. This is too expensive of a restaurant to visit and be expected to gobble your food so they can get you out the door. Food: Good, however, prices are on the high side. My first time here and it couldn't have been a more wonderful experience. A lovely ambiance with a high class sophisticated dining room showing traditional Old Italian charm. Low lighting, white table cloths, elegant dinner ware and lovely wall art will set the stage for a delicious experience. Service impeccable, water glasses immediately filled throughout the dinner and cocktails tasty and well blended One of the best appetizers ever was the Salsiccia. A homemade Italian Sausage with roasted peppers and cipollini onions. I absolutely could have ordered another one and filled up on just this. And you just have to soak up the sauce with their warm delicious bread. Just amazing. The Chicken Parmesan was the hit of the table as 3 out of the five of us ordered it. But I was the rebel and went with the Scaloppini. Veal cutlets with sautéed garlicky spinach and roasted potatoes, picatta. It was our first time at Restaurant One 41 in Johns Creek. It had been recommended by a knowledgeable friend and we went with another couple who had been there in the past. We were greeted warmly at the door and immediately seated. Herbert, the head waiter, knew the other couple and chatted briefly with them but seemed to ignore me when I tried to enter the conversation. Herbert's wife came to the table with fresh warm Italian bread and a dipping sauce made from fresh crushed pomodoro tomatoes, Italian seasonings, and goat cheese that was beyond reproach. We ordered cocktails while Jeff and Bambi sought out an appropriate bottle of wine. Their starter was a crispy aged provolone with vine ripened tomatoes sprinkled with oregano and black pepper. Arlee and I shared a plate of fried calamari and shrimp with fried onion strips and lemon rounds. This dish, served with two dipping sauces: a Calabrian aioli and the restaurant's pomodoro sauce was tasty and the seafood crisp. We ordered our mains. Again, the waiter turned his back when I sought to ask a question and left. Our table mates had the answer to my concern. While the noise level was high, the ambiance and conviviality of this restaurant was also high. Our table was in a corner and a little more intimate as well. Bambi ordered the Lasagna which was made with a veal based meat sauce, covered with bechamel, and baked with a coating of Mozzarella and sprinkled with Parmigiano. Likewise, Jeff ordered pasta, choosing the Gnocchi made with potatoes and covered with a four-cheese Alfredo sauce and sprinkled with toasted breadcrumbs. They loved their dishes. Arlee had the Grilled Lamb Chops that were accompanied by roasted Parmigiano potatoes, and a marinade made from olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, parsley and oregano. This sauce, called Salmoriglio, comes from Sicily. I had the 'star' of the evening; a pan-roasted veal chop with risotto made with four cheeses in a mushroom sauce and topped with quartered porcini mushrooms. The chop was done perfectly and the risotto was "to die for." I don't believe that I have had better, even in Italy. As the portions were large, we declined the dessert menu and finished the meal with varied coffees. Other than the seeming lack of professionalism on the part of Herbert, the servers and other staff members all sought to satisfy our every need. This faux pas by Herbert did little to cloud what was otherwise a marvelous experience. Would we return; definitely yes. Might I ask for another waiter; possibly. However, this high-end restaurant should be experienced. It's that good. read more

After seeing the rave reviews for this place I was excited to try it out for date night. The food was kinda mediocre, nothing spectacular imo. Marinara was a bit sour, the breading for Parm was soggy. Garganelli had good flavor but salty. Service was good, attentive and friendly, No complaints. Ambiance is nice, clean and cozy. A nice spot for date night. Kinda overpriced, $34 for chicken Parmesan is a little ridiculous. Doesn't even come with pasta, which you have to order a side of it for $8. The quality of the dishes served has declined unfortunately with the mozzarella appetizer tasting as though the oil or the breading had gone rancid, the salad greens limp and soggy from being drenched with far too much vinegar, and the signature chicken parm overcooked and bland. The desserts however are phenomenally good! Recommend that you go here just for dessert and coffee for a truly memorable time. The front line of the kitchen desperately needs help when it come to creativity, prep and presentation, but whoever bakes and prepares the desserts in house deserves a Michelin star. read more

Came here to celebrate wife's birthday. Justin was our server for the first part of the night and he was an absolute delight. He was courteous and very professional. The food was pretty decent, with the highlights being the side pasta cooked in olive oil and fried garlic. Unfortunately half way through the evening Justin had to leave and we were assigned Debbie. She never even stopped by ONCE to check in on us, or to introduce herself. We waited 15-20 minutes before we had to flag down another server to order dessert. I'm giving three stars because it's good. It's not amazing, but it is good. It is a local place, lots of regulars, and had a fun vibe, lots of people that know each other and know each other well. It's been 8 years since I first wrote a review on Trattoria One 41 and I'm pleased to say that it remains my favorite Italian restaurant. This hidden gem is tucked away in a shopping plaza in John's Creek. There's plenty of free parking available. I made a reservation on Resy a few days before I came. I was glad to see that the menu is still pretty much the the same. The complimentary bread with their homemade marinara was a great start to the evening. My drink choice was a St. Rosa that includes Elijah Craig, St. Germain and pomegranate. For starters we ordered the spicy veal meatballs and Caesar salad. Both were great. Our entrees were the chicken Parmesan and Bavetta (skirt steak). Our sides were asparagus. Spaghetti and roasted potatoes . I've had skirt steak many times, but none compare to this one. It was topped with Gorgonzola cheese, caramelized onions, pancetta, arugula and balsamic glaze. It was awesome. For dessert, I got the marscapone cheesecake. It's topped with the most decadent homemade caramel sauce. It's my favorite dessert that I've ordered at a restaurant. It's not too sweet and oh so rich in flavor. I am so sorry but I cannot say anything great about One41. I am from Italy as some of you know. And when I think about a Trattoria I can imagine simple but very defined flavors, quality, authenticity. Let's make it clear. In Italy we do not drown food in tomato sauce. We just don't. The quality is in the main ingredients. This trattoria wanna be has 1 low quality Prosecco on the wine list. No Franciacorta either. The mozzarella pillows do not taste like mozzarella. The cheese and tomato sauce you see in the picture and apparently everybody loves is literally flavored cream cheese with marinara on top. Not an Italian dish for sure. What else? Service was just ok. We ate at the bar. Nice clientele, mainly families and older couples. Prices are super high for the quality. Dessert was the only dish we truly enjoyed. We always enjoyed a drink with our meal. We should have been told when we made our reservation they lost their liquor license and no alcohol was served. We should have walked out. Tonight was a fish night for us, I had the branzino and my wife enjoyed the halibut. Both were cooked to perfection. For starters we enjoyed the delicious and tender baby chokes and fried mozzarella. Don't let the Italian titles to the food, overwhelm you. This is also within close range to north of Atlanta, so you don't have to travel down town for a table cloth experience! This seating is limited, so I encourage a reservation. We finished off with a flour chocolate cake, with ice cream that tasted like marshmallows and whipped cream! Omg. This little "neighborhood" restaurants is one of the very best in ATLANTA! Delicious food, great atmosphere, service is A+! We've been coming for years.... We started with their meatballs, which are some of the best we've ever eaten. The sourdough bread and sauce that is complimentary goes just perfect with this. I got the short rib cannelloni . It's a large portion, and very rich. I've never eaten this anywhere else.... it's fantastic and my "go to" at this restaurant. My husband got the chicken parmagiana . It's sooo good. The chef forgot the slivers of garlic a little too long in the frying pan; they were dark brown & overwhelmed the sauce, clams & pasta. My wife's Short Rib Cannelloni was as good as always. The Caprese salad did not have Basil Sprouts as described, just shredded basil leaves, the burrata was less creamy and still exuded too much whey, but was still was tasty! They were very busy inside. Best fancy restaurant in John's Creek. I tried their Veal parm and it was great for my first time trying veal. I have gotten their gnocchi in the past and it is phenomenal as well.
