I've banked with TCU since 2006 when it was a different name, and I've always been a happy member. This morning reminded me why: it's the people! Christian and Tiny at the Clayton Rd branch are so helpful! The ATM malfunctioned and didn't open so I could take my 100 cash withdrawal. I had to wait until they were open to resolve the issue. Needless to say, I was grumpy. Christian explained everything, and Tiny also offered information that made me less anxious. Christian also, as a courtesy for the inconvenience, reversed a couple of old NSF charges. He didn't have to do that, but he did. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. BE AWARE They will discriminate against you during the lending process for your race/religion and other identifying factors that violate the Equal Opportunity Credit Act. They literally had me sign a contract, open a card issued the line of credit issued and even had the card showing up in my account. Then the loan person that had an issue with me personally decided to suspend my card and funding which is now negatively affecting my credit situation because of it. They treated me like a criminal after an approval...I have a 706 score and it was an instant approval with no income docs required...Then everything changed when 1 person got involved well after I was approved...PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!! Went to this branch with High Hopes as it came highly recommended from acquaintance. Walked in waited just a few minutes for a desk clerk who in a poor voice asked do you have a question. I said yes I'd like to open some accounts she said I'm just in the middle of putting a loan together (Apparently that pays more money and I'm not Important as I don't currently have an account) She begin by telling me not one but numerous negative things about opening accounts with them I sat there I go wow this is really bizarre if you really want my business. I explained to her I wanted business and personal and I want to refinance my house and possibly my vehicles I was able to get nowhere in a big hurry I am now driving to another credit union not slowly but as fast as I can to get away from this one wow this is bizarre behavior how to places to stay in business when their sales people come off in this manner she explained I'm the only person here today well God forbid you have to do some work. I currently have Navy Federal which the nearest branch is close to 400 miles away yet she insisted why I want to change credit unions there must be a reason she was right I don't like drive eight 400 miles to see somebody at a counter. Ive been coming here for a few months now and everytime I come in Ms. Sakhai has always been the first person I talk to. Ive been a long time account holder for travis but honestly Ms. Sakhai is the best represenative I've have the pleasure of working with. She's clear, concise, and more than willing to help out anyone who is willing to listen and be responsible with their financials. Has consistently gone out of her way to not only steer me in the right direction. But even giving me massive opportunities to grow my credit without any risky loans or sticking my neck out too far. This review is a mixed bag. Cliff's Notes for those who hate long & detailed reviews: good people/ REALLY bad tech. Read on for more detail. I do most transactions online or inside, and I have yet to use the ATM, so I can't speak to that. I have had nothing but great interactions inside the Clayton branch of TCU, even if they weren't always fruitful. If I could rate each aspect of my experience, I would give the stand alone bank itself 5 stars, calling customer service a 3 (long wait, really nice, but ultimately unhelpful), and the online banking gets ZERO stars. To be fair, I came from Chase because I wanted to leave the big banks behind, and I did not have the expectation that the tech aspect of my transition would be quite as good. That said, I didn't expect it to be this bad. For security purposes, I don't have my savings accounts attached to my checking account (yes, I have to be VERY mindful of overdraft charges!), my ATM card is only attached to my checking, and I only have a few bucks in my checking at any given time. So, there's only access to a few bucks in cash and none of my savings via my ATM card. So, I need access to all of my accounts, via the app, while on the go if I need to transfer cash to my checking account in case of an emergency. It took a couple of weeks, with a couple of trips to the branch and a call to customer service to even be able to access the app after I first opened my accounts. Bad start! Now that I can get into the app, the fact that I'm UNABLE to successfully open the app about 4 out of 5 times I try, and usually when I need it most, presents quite a problem, especially whilst traveling! Customer service was clearly irritated, not with me but, because it seems they are just as frustrated with this clearly ongoing issue, and not being able to help fix this problem. Sadly, they end up bearing the brunt of customer irritation! She referred my complaint to IT; I never heard from them and the issue persists. Another issue is that when I go to pay bills from my online account, I am unable to access bill pay unless I manually go into settings on my computer and "allow cross site traffic," which I have to then remember to click the protection back on after I pay bills. To figure out why I couldn't access bill pay, it was faster to Google why the bank wouldn't allow me to access online bill pay, than it would be to call customer service, which had not been all that helpful in previous attempts to get tech issues resolved. The best article I found explained the steps to take to be able to pay bills (allowing cross site traffic) and indicated there is a good chance that it's not the most secure setup if you have to make yourself more vulnerable just to pay bills, which didn't give me a warm & fuzzy, as someone whose had fraudulent activity done in my checking account at my previous bank. So, in closing the branch itself is 5 star for basic in person transactions and for that, I recommend TCU. But, if access to online banking is important to you, maybe think again. read more

HORRIBLE POLICIES, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SET UP!!!!!! Travis' software keeps locking me out when I access it online, despite repeated conversations, password changes, attempted fixes. I tried to go online this morning to transfer money to our teen's account while she's visiting New York. Not only has the online system locked me out again (normally just another annoying call to their customer service center), but Travis has no one available on weekends to fix the problem, effectively leaving our child with no funds available to her for food, etc. until Travis' support people come back in on Monday morning. I have literally thousands of dollars in accounts there, we were about to move our regular household account there as well. I'm FURIOUS, and planning to move all of my checking, savings, kids' savings accounts to the big box banks I've been trying to avoid by setting up accounts with a local credit union, so that I can have the customer support we need. I use Travis for an auto loan and I have never had any issues. I've gone through them for 4 years now, with my very first car and now onto my second car. Salina is my go to when I need anything, she is so sweet and always trying to help in the best way she possibly can. She's very easy to talk to and makes it so easy to fix or adjust anything I need. The Clayton location is my favorite- the team is super friendly and remember your name and everything which is great. ATM is well located, safe and well lit. There are a ton of member perks. The staff is always friendly & I love having access to my direct deposit on Thursday. Apple Pay has been available to banks & credit unions for at least 2 years. Incredibly, TCU still has no timetable for adding Apple Pay. TCU recently implemented & highly publicized something called MYINSIGHT which I believe allows customers to access their accounts at other financial institutions via TCU's web site. This sounds nice, but it's not something that I have been waiting for. When will I get access to Apple Pay??? I can't give TCU more than 3 stars until they implement Apple Pay & I wish I could change my rating to 2.5 stars. read more

Convenient location, although the parking lot is a bit awkward. Great staff! They are willing to accommodate their members and even fight to do the right thing when their corporate office wants to say NO. That is great customer service! I do wish they would have a bigger presence in the area. If I didn't see them when driving by, I wouldn't even know they were there. No advertising to speak of, although I think they're pretty big over in Solano and Yolo County. read more

I love this location! It's easily visible in a busy shopping center/facing a busy intersection, so it feels safer than most bank locations. The ATM offers "privacy" by being on the side of the building, but I always enjoy going in anyway because of the very pleasant staff inside. I've never had an issue with their service! read more
