The third Capital One Cafe I've been to besides San Francisco and Portland. I wanted fellow Yelp Elite Tiffany R. to try the Verve coffee there (and experience the 50% off as Capital One card holders). I ordered my go to 16 oz Bowl of Soul with Earl Grey and Tiffany got a vanilla latte. The cashier and baristas were quick and friendly. Another win for Verve and Capital One Cafe. A two story location with many tables both big and small. It's very clean, bright and quiet. If I lived closer to Walnut Creek; I would come all the time. A quiet air-conditioned and well lit space with tables and couches and tasty drinks, what's not to like. I will definitely be back whenever I'm shopping at Broadway Plaza or downtown Walnut Creek! read more

I like the place.. it's interesting to me.. a bank and a coffee shop in one.. I'm not sure how it really works.. but I do like the coffee. They have good as well. Big tables to sit and there are smaller ones as well. There are high tops for us taller people which is helpful so we can stretch out a bit . Seems like the shortest people sit here though so it's harder for me sometimes. This location is on a busy street in walnut creek. So there isn't good parking it's a few blocks away. If I understand correctly, the cafe is hosted by Verve Coffee? Either way I love the concept of being able to bank, have coffee, grab a quick bite, and work at the same place! Street parking is limited by there is a $2/hr parking garage about a 3-5 minute walk away. Theres plenty of small tables and seating inside, even sofa seats but limited outlets (some extension cords would be a great idea *wink wink*) for working remotely. I had the Lavender Latte and it was light, not too sweet, and icy cold. I would have enjoyed more of a lavender taste though. There was a line upon entering to order since there was no one attending the register and there was only a barista making drinks attentively but as soon as a second employee arrived and got the orders in, the service was quick. read more

First I'll say I've happily frequented this cafe for over a year. I like the atmosphere the ability to book private spaces, and the discounted drinks. I often work from this cafe for a few hours. I am also a loyal capital one cardholder, with the Venture X card (the card with a $395 yearly fee no less). This week I went to the cafe with my partner and ordered her a plain drip coffee as well as a mocha for myself. While the mocha was done quickly, the staff forgot about her black coffee and said it hadn't been added to the order. I was told to re-enter the line. So I got back in the (now longer) line to again order her drink. It wasn't ready for a good 15 minutes after this. So in total we waited for about 30 minutes for a black coffee. I already felt that when it was forgotten, a free black coffee could have easily been provided. I give Capital One plenty of money after all :-) Finally settled, a staff member approached me and asked me to take my feet off the seat. I'm a very small person and often have to cross my legs in some capacity to be comfortable and not have my legs dangling. I've never had an issue with this anywhere else. Not like I have dirty shoes on there - plus with plastic chairs, I wonder why they can't just be cleaned more often if it's such a concern? I didn't feel it was that inappropriate, how I was sitting. Anyway, this made me so self conscious for the rest of my stay. I kept wanting to adjust myself and remembered I wasn't allowed. It was my first time bringing my partner to my "favorite cafe" and I felt unwelcome at best, plus she was ready to give up on her black coffee at one point. We left shortly after. Just felt the need to say this since I've mostly had fine experiences and this felt so unnecessary. I ordered a honey lavender latte, bowl of soul (jasmine tea + honey + soy milk), and a Honduras pour over, and all were delicious. They for some reason don't fill up the whole cup, but for 50% off, I can't complain. Upon walking in, there were only two people working, and they seemed a bit overwhelmed, so he didn't take my order for a few mins. However once he did, it was pretty fast that we got our drinks. actually found a cafe in this general area that's good to work/study in. large windows with lots of light, outlets scattered around, lots of people present if you like to people watch & a semi quieter area on the second floor. apparently discover also qualifies for the 50% off coupon alongside capital one cards, so that was a huge plus. my order came out to $8 for both items i purchased after the discount. i got a hot matcha latte and a blueberry muffin. my drink was lukewarm, like literally not hot at all. a little confused, but wrote it off as a fluke. the flavor of it though was fine. blueberry muffin is a little whack, but if you're in need of a small snack while studying, this isn't a bad option. overall enjoyed hanging out here for a few hours. read more

Decided to stop by on my way to Sweetgreen on a Saturday morning around 10:30am. The baristas were friendly and I was able to purchase a Cortado with my Capital One card for 50% off. Very good coffee (I believe they partner with Verve)! They also still have a lot of the free Capital One MagSafe wallets that you can stick to the back of your phone. It fits around 2-3 cards. There's also a lot of places to sit. Upstairs has a few more couches and longer 4 seater tables. I don't see too many plugs in the seats, though. I love this coffee shop! I would not have normally walked in, but I saw the verve sign and decided to try it. I don't bank here, but you don't have to bank here to visit the café or sit and chill for a while. They also gave me a free luggage tag which was nice. I am in love with the capital one ads on TV so I was so excited to try the capital one café today. It was such a great experience. The café is so beautiful and the people that work there are so nice. The guy at the counter was the best! I felt like the desserts were limited. Well they did have a lot of desserts, but none of them really looked that great. We got the orange scone and it was just OK and the guy gave us two little chocolate gingerbread man and candy cane and that was really sweet. We got the seasonal cinnamon maple latte and that was really good. It was just so fun to be there and they have the steel that if you're capital one customer that you get 50% off your handcrafted drink so that's really cool. I'm not a capital one customer, but it made me think about becoming one! I love the commercials so glad we went in and they serve Verve coffee which is the bomb. read more

Thank you to the team member that helped me with my QR codes even though I know I hadn't used them all yet. I don't know what was going on but they weren't working when I was ordering my coffee. I ordered one of their winter sips and it was great. I wish I had more time to just sit in the cafe and enjoy it. That's one of my favorite things to do. However, it took so long to try to park in the area that I was running short on time. Parking can be kinda tough here (esp in Dec when it's around gift shopping time). I take my toddlers here often to grab a cup of matcha or coffee, and the service is always wonderful. The staff are genuinely kind--they even come over to let me know about any promotions or free toddler-friendly events happening at the bank. The staff was really sweet and because I have a credit card with Capital One, I received a discount on my coffee. Woohoo! This was exactly what I needed for a day! I found myself in a sticky situation that couldn't be avoided where I had to be in Walnut Creek no earlier than 8am on a Monday morning and then had a virtual class at 8:30am sharp. There was no way I'd make it back home in time for class so I really just needed a spot where I could work for the day. To my surprise, Capital One café popped up in my search for a "work space" and I'm so glad I found it because being a newish Capital One banker I had thought there were no Capital One cafes in California but here it is in Walnut Creek! It's sort of newer in the last year so it's super clean. It's a very large café, two stories, with an elevator or stairs, easily handicap accessible and lots of natural light coming through the large open windows. You can order some food items (not much Gluten-Free options though), plenty of snacks, and a pretty long list of hot or cold beverages. Capital One members get a 50% discount on beverages (yay!). Service was very friendly, greeted you with a nice smile and a "hello" and they were also fast. The best part about this place is there were lots of tables/comfortable seating to choose from on the main floor or the second floor, all thoughtfully situated with just the right amount of space for separation. While not all tables had access to an outlet, there were a few available along the wall downstairs and a bar-type seating with outlets upstairs. They also have appropriate signage to provide some instructions on how to keep the community areas nice and clean. You can also book "nooks" for small meetings or a slightly bigger meeting room for a group. It was not very loud although there was some light chatter but I was able to be on a Zoom meeting without any problems and in the right spot could have ample privacy. This place has gone so downhill in the last couple years i will not visit again unless they overhaul their operations and personnel that are employed there. I went last week on August 5th in the early afternoon and had the most horrible experience I've had at any coffee shop. I ordered a nitro cold brew and what I received instead was a regular cold brew that was overextracted with NO NITRO and a cup full of ice. When I voiced my concern with the gangster wannabe hispanic baristas, they got really defensive and claimed they did everything right and pulled the lever for the nitro cold brew machine.Clearly what was wrong was the machine but they refused to listen carefully. I then asked for it be replaced with a regular latte instead because it's difficult to mess that up. to my surprise the drink tasted like water - very little coffee taste at all and i asked nicely if they had only put 1 shot in the drink. This was the point where the baristas were irate and claimed the machine pulls a double shot every time. I asked them to make themselves a drink to confirm my suspicion and they refused to do so, coming at me with extreme hostility as if they wanted to fight. My bar isn't very high for a regular cup of coffee yet instead of trying to diagnose the problem they became defensive. This is a training and management problem, and until capitalone one corrects these issues, I will absolutely not visit agian. read more

The location is very beautiful, with a bright and pleasant space. It's also a very comfortable place to work. However, I didn't really enjoy the pastries -- they didn't taste good, and I couldn't finish them. I can't say for sure how fresh they were. The coffee was average, a bit watered down in my opinion. This is a great location . The cafe was friendly and helpful. The coffee and food really good.The banking staff is my mediocre experience. The female banker Analise was redundant and condescending. I was looking for a plug to charge and I plugged into the counter. She promptly informed me that it was a banking area and if someone came in to open an account I'd be asked to move. The whole counter was empty. She repeated it to me 3 times. In a very authoritative fashion. She was so rude and disrespectful. It's the only location of a line of plugs. So it's a dumb place to do banking since it looks more like a charging area. I keep all my savings at capitol one. This banker really rubbed me the wrong way. read more
