Very mediocre. I wanted to love this placing having just moved to the area. Call me an millennial, but I was put off that it SAYS they have delivery... but they don't. The only online menu I could was from yelp pictures. Cash only, that's fine the best places are cash only. I picked up the food. It recently became exhaustive and annoying at my usual Thai location since their hours were so sporatic that it was impractical to keep eating there (Thai Kitchen). I gave several Thai places a try in the area and Treasure Pot was the winner. I normally prefer ordering Thai food so this review will be primarily for take out/ordering. My regular eats: * Panang Curry (mild) - Perfect amount of heat for those that don't like to get singed while eating. Great creamy flavor and aroma. * Tom Ka Kai (coconut) soup (mild) - This is a little bit on the sweet side and has a good amount of mushrooms in it which I'm not used to. It's good but they can def improve on this. * Pad Thai - Passes (nothing out of the ordinary for me, I usually enjoy most pad thai) Portions are spot on and is very similar to the other Thai places in the area. Now, besides the food, why I choose this place: I have to give props to the young lady that takes my order on the phone. This is the first place in the history of ordering Thai where someone gets everything I say on the first pass. She did not have to double back on my order, nor my name, nor my address and spelled everything correctly (other than the one repeat to ensure it is perfect). That is an amazing feat in itself! I'm usually going back and forth with Thai places(note:I do not have any crazy accent) when I phone in that it becomes almost draining (some places have trouble deciphering their own menus!). The delivery guy that normally comes is a very cool dude too, everything always comes in a timely manner. I'm no expert when it comes to Thai food, but I was pretty happy with the food at Treasure Pot. Reasonable prices, good portions, tasty dishes. We ordered the panang curry with chicken ($8.95), the pad see ew with beef ($7.95), and the spicy thai basil ($8.95). My favorite was probably the spicy thai basil. It's got great flavor and goes really well with rice. I know, I know...almost any Thai dish goes well with rice, but this one was especially good. You can choose the level of spiciness, but be careful because even "spicy" has quite the kick to it. The curry and the pad see ew were delicious too, but I don't think you can go wrong with either so they didn't stand out to me as much. Fyi, the prices I've listed for the curry and the spicy thai basil were a la carte so they don't come with rice. However, for the spicy thai basil, they do have a version that comes with rice so get that one if you don't have any rice made. Note to self....when in Paramount, CA and the desire for inexpensive Thai food is there....try this place AGAIN! I found myself in the area and we were very hungry. I took out the iPhone and turned on the Yelp app and found this little hidden treasure of a Thai restaurant. My friend was not into the hot and spicy food, but you would figure that Thai food is not the right place to go. But her craving for Thai food helped keep us there. We ordered two simple rice dishes. A mild chicken rice dish and we requested a low hotness level of Red Curry Chicken....in Thai terms....it was still HOT for her. Oh well....we ordered more plain white rice to deaden the spice level. In the long run.....both of us really did enjoy the food and the company. The friendly staff and the food served here would take care of my Thai cravings anytime. Before They ever existed, the owner used to cook for people/friends and would meet them in a parking lot to drop off the food. One of the restaurants around there found out about what was going on. I'm a big fan on Boat Noodle, and this place had it all. Everything you want in a Boat Noodle bowl. They even went ahead and put in crushed pork cracklings. Good service, friendly people and GREAT FOOD. Took away one star, the Boat Noodle was a little sweet and the fried noodle was a little burned, can't always be perfect tho right? I've tried just about every Thai place in and around Paramount multiple times, and I have to say, that for me at least, no one's beaten the quality and consistency of Treasure Pot Thai. I usually have their noodles (generally the Spicy Noodles and Pad Seew, and sometimes fried rice) but everything I've eaten here is good. There are strangely a lot of Thai places in Paramount (more than any other kind of Asian food) and they're all at least decent, but I feel that Treasure Pot is the best. I especially recommend their "Spicy Noodles" which I think are called Pad Kee-Mao (Drunken Noodles) at other places. read more

We drove passed this place for years - I did not feel like driving to Hollywood for our favorite Thai location on this day. So that lead us to this hidden jewel. My husband ordered Pad See Ew and I ordered boat noodle soup, combination fried rice add crab meat and larb salad. Everything was so good. Perfect heat levels and great portions. Prices are relative and actually I am pleasantly surprised each time. Needless to say we have not drove to Hollywood since. My parents and I come to Treasure Pot whenever we have a hankering for Thai food. It's located in a nondescript strip mall in Paramount, and serves probably some of the best Thai food outside of Thai town. Their menu is vast, from the standard boat noodles to the not so common, khao kook kapi. Their boat noodles is a nice medium of savory and sweet, with hints of anise. The flavor of blood isn't as pronounced as some places in Hollywood, but you can note its presence. Swimming within the broth is ample amounts of beef, liver and beef ball. Khao kook kapi is a rice dish that provides an array of ingredients. The rice is stir fried with shrimp paste and then plated with shredded mango, sweet pork, shrimp, egg and a slice of lime. The rice is salty, somewhat fishy but is balanced with the sweet pork and the crunch of the mango. I highly recommend ordering the roti. It's comes wrapped in a piece of paper and served warm. It's flaky yet chewy, and with the perfect amount of condensed milk, the roti will surely have a surge of dopamine bathing your brain. read more

Came here with my dad and brother. Time to get our eat on. We ordered the pad see ew, boat noodles, chinese broccoli and crispy fried pork, green curry with chicken, the shrimp cake appetizer. I must say very impressed. The green chicken curry was the best tasty. I asked for spicy and it was just the right amount of spicy without overdoing it. The flavors were intense and nicely balanced. Second best would have to be the shrimp cake. They were lightly breaded pillows of delicious shrimp heaven. Was a good deal as well. Third was the chinese broccoli with the crispy fried pork. They fried the pork so long it reached the point of smokey chicharron, without becoming overly charred. It was crispy and satisfying. Fourth was the pad see ew. Thick white rice noodes pan fried which is almost the exact same dish as chow fun at a chinese restaurant. It was good but not the most exceptional thing on the table. Fifth was the boat noodes. It was a dark broth with lots of beef and meats with noodles. Being a fan of pho, I felt like the soup needed a zing like a squeeze of lemon or something. But still comforting and delicious. Okay, so the first time I went... I google mapped Thai food because I was craving some Thai food around my house. Luckily, I found Treasure Pot! YES I HIT THE TREASURE! HAHA... First, service can be better so that makes it a four star rather than a five star restaurant. Second, Food is very good! I have always gone to Ocha for my seafood soup but this place definitely competes with Ocha. It is much more convenient since I do not have to drive so far and I have actually tasted more plates here than at Ocha. Combination rice is the best in my opinion (have to try!)...chow-mein is good and so is their pad thai noodles with beef. Lastly, The prices are reasonable! I have only been at the restaurant twice but in those two times, attracted 3 new customers for this place. The only thing I would say is that the service can improve. I've been wanting to try Thai food for a while and saw many rave reviews of this place, especially since it is an authentic Thai restaurant and not some knockoff or "Thai inspired food place." So I finally stopped by today for the famous Thai Boat noodles ($7.99). It was completely empty when I walked in so my takeout food came pretty quick, a 10 min wait. I asked for it spicy and when the order came, I went on my merry way home to enjoy my hot and spicy noodle bowl. Boy, was it spicy!!!! I like spicy! The broth was packed with flavor, very dark, and really good. There were beef meatballs, beef stew meat, another beef meat, bean sprouts, green onion, and crunchy pieces of fried pork skin. We were out and about this Sunday and doing a bit of shopping and decided to stop by at the Stater Bros. in Paramount and noticed this place and thought to myself "let give it a go" The Mrs. isn't very adventuresome when it comes to foreign foods and goes for recognition words, in this case "Kung Pao Chicken" with a side of rice and I myself opted for the "Noodle Nua Sub". Been to many Thai restaurants, I have my favorites. This one wouldn't have made the "usual" list, but food and service warranted a solid 3 stars. Niece said the place smelled "funny". I received a bill for $52. I had a restaurant.com coupon for $25 which stated 15% gratuity would be added. Fine, about $7.50 tip would have put the bill to about $60. Minus $25, it would be $35 out the door. I'm not sure where their math went wrong, or maybe I misunderstood something. I received my card back, along with the receipts, both filled out adding the tip again. WTF? They were pre-filled out for me to sign, how effin' convenient. So out the door I paid $43. So use a restaurant.com coupon and pay 30% tip? I don't think so. Since my receipts were conveniently filled out for me, I said screw it, knowing I'd never be back. Never again. Who knew Paramount was so multicultural?! I've always passed by but never made a point of checking it out til recently. When it comes to Thai, I'm a noodle guy. I had chicken and shrimp Pad Thai. It was pretty good! My only complaint: not enough shrimp. The portion was good for the price. I had their Thai tea to drink. I love Thai tea and it's hard to find a place with delicious Thai tea. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say it was a 7. Unfortunately, they don't offer boba. For those of you that enjoy it without ice, it'll cost you a bit more...LAME! Try the roti for dessert.
