We were in the area around lunch time, decided to give Treehouse Cafe a try. They offer a wide variety of hot teas, coffee, sandwiches and salads. We ordered from the breakfast and lunch menu: breakfast sandwich with croissant bread and bacon, breakfast burrito with ham and the Ernest sandwich. All 3 items were delicious and decent size portion, we also ordered for an extra $2 a Greek orzo salad. The salad was good, I would've liked to have more lemon and olive oil flavor to it, however it was still good. The location is perfect next to the bridge with a great view of the creek and nature out the windows in the back. The kids in our party loved it, there was a corner with toys for them, books to read and a blackboard for them to scribble on with chalk. I live nearby and have tried this place many times. The food is standard, nothing special about the menu. The people who work there are rude, and do not care about service. The owners must be rolling in money! I will take my business elsewhere. Unless you appreciate slow, rude, service don't go !! your food will be made wrong because the sandwich girl is too busy chatting with the other girl supposedly working there. 1 girl at the register, making drinks and two in the kitchen doing nothing. Sandwiches are awfully plain and flavorless. Save yourself the money and make your own at home. I was pretty flabbergasted that I paid for such mediocre food. I used to love this place, but who in the world serves ice cold BLTs without asking if you want it toasty and hot or ice cold and fatty from the fridge? The other day I got a microwave heated croissant with a half-melted cheese slice and cold deli ham when I ordered a "ham and cheese croissant," which is a basic bakery order that they could order out and not even have to worry about making in house. Two gross breakfast orders in two weeks, for a total of about $25 plus about $6-7 in tips. What the heck happened to this place? Biscuits? Excellent. Gravy? Lacking red pepper, rosemary, thyme and black pepper--happy to share my recipe. This BLT sandwich is so fatty and yucky. I can't imagine anyone thinking this tastes good. So disappointing. This place used to be a staple of my daily life in BC because they were so good! And I agree with other posters that communication between workers is lackidasical at best. The baristas hang with the potentially big tippers much longer than necessary without realizing who the really big tippers actually are! On every one of these bad orders, they got a 25% tip out of me no matter what. read more

Coming from NY and spending a lot of time in NYC, I have eaten at some incredible family owned Delis. However, Treehouse Cafe is an absolute diamond, a 100 karat diamond to be exact. The ingredients are always extremely fresh, and the homemade goodies (potato salad, Mac salad, etc.) are always fantastic. The coffee is the best coffee around, you'd have to travel some ways to find fresher and more deliciously roasted beans. The affogato with local ice cream is superb. Every single order is made with love, and the quality shines through. If this wasn't already enough to convince you to come here, well, the family is the sweetest, friendliest, and most hospitable bunch I've had the pleasure to be served by. I've been coming here consistently for months now, and I have never ever been disappointed. In fact, the family and the food will only improve your day, and if you're having a rough one, a meal and a conversation here will surely brighten it up. I would recommend this place a million times over, and I'd take it over any NYC Deli experience I've ever had. The family and the quality of the food really make it stand out. It will be a sad day when I depart California to return to my home in NYC. This morning, after ordering my food, it was snagged by a lady who had ordered 10 minutes after me, even though I told her I was pretty sure it was my food. I gave my name to the counter worker, but they didn't use it when my order came up. So this lady opens the bag, opens my sandwich with her bare hands and the realizes it isn't her food. She takes it back to the counter and they just call out the order again. I went up and told them I didn't want that sandwich anymore, seeing how some random person has fingered through it. Oh, we will remake it real quick for you. Cool. But then I watch her take the same sandwich and re wrap it in new wax paper. Then she tries to tell me it is a fresh sandwich. Are you kidding? What an absolutely magical spot. A giant Redwood Tree is growing out of the center of this charming cafe. Gorgeous and peaceful setting with views of the creek and forest. We had a wonderful experience at the Treehouse Cafe today! We walked in a few minutes to noon and were excited to hear that you can order from their breakfast menu all day! We ordered the avocado toast and added egg salad to it. The kind woman taking our order offered us a variety of delish sourdough options and we chose the rosemary basil sourdough! Our toast came out perfectly toasted and with the perfect amount of egg salad to tomato, cucumber, and onion ratio! I also ordered an iced oat milk latte with one pump vanilla and it was just divine! This was our first stop into the Treehouse Cafe and we will absolutely be back for a second (and third and fourth and fifth) visit! read more

I ordered a breakfast sandwich, well-toasted (noted on receipt). I was brought a breakfast sandwich on doughy bread. I non-confrontationally polite and requested a replacement that was well-toasted, and I was given a look of disgust; the doughy sandwich was tossed into a garbage can without a word. A few minutes later, I received a well-toasted replacement and no eye contact or apology. I thanked them for it, anyway. My other visits have been pleasant, despite the daycare center decibels,but It'll be a long time before I order another sandwich there. Longest wait ever. One person was working and I understand how it is to work in food service alone but there wasn't any sense of urgency. She took everyone's order and didn't make any drinks until the line was gone, she must have taken about 15 orders before making anyone's drinks. I ordered an ice cream and the scoop was ridiculously small and charged me 3.25 for 1 small scoop. They need to look into better training and staffing. read more

Our family loves this little place! We are there every Saturday for coffee, breakfast and treats. They have books & toys available for kids to keep entertained while adults enjoy the forest view and the awesome tree growing in the middle of the establishment. Food and coffee were really good, service was super friendly. But I can't help but complain that the restrooms are closed to paying customers. How do you serve food and beverages and not allow restroom use? My child almost had an accident because we had to literally run around downtown to find a place willing to let her use the restroom. I have been in this cafe 2 times, both times the owner was very rude to me. I actually had considered applying to work there as there is a help wanted sign on the door. I asked to pay extra for some heavy cream in my coffee. The owner came over and told me HER cost of heavy cream, and she felt inspired to share other costs as well. I had not asked and was only politely buying a cup of coffee with cream. Offering to pay extra for heavy cream. I'm sorry that costs are a problem for you in your coffee shop, however, it is tacky to do that (tell customers the cost and be unfriendly) it does not help you get more business or great employees. read more

This place was amazing !!! The coffee (I got a white mocha) was amazing, one of the best coffees I've had in years (I usually drink at a lot of coffee places). I definitely recommend getting coffee here! I got a breakfast burrito and it was also pretty good, I love their salsa. I also talked to one of the employees there and she was extremely nice ! Even though the inside was closed they brought a table in the outside eating area for us to eat. On the inside they have a beautiful dining area with a huge tree running through the middle and a nice view of the creek. This place was overall 5/5 especially the coffee!
