Good place to watch a flamenco show . Food is good. Sangria good however a pit pricy. Calamari very good.

I was hobbling along the streets of old San Juan after injuring my knee, and a server outside told me to wait, brought me some ice, and then he and the hostess helped me inside so I could sit and rest while my husband got the car. Very entertaining, the food isn't bad either. A solid place to enjoy dinner show in old San Juan. We ordered 2 person seafood paella for $60 then steak for the boy and drinks...etc. all come to 120. Well, the paella was what the stars are for, solid mediocre, certainly not $48 worth. Slow service and as an added bonus the staff just simply did not feel like turning the ceiling fan off on top of our table. We came here for dinner the night before new year's Eve, hoping to catch the flamenco show but we missed it. The food was decent enough. Everything I ordered was not available. The server kept coming back to my tablet, telling me that the mussels, salmon and then eggplants were not available. After 4 tries, I finally managed to order something they did have. We has the paella which was good, though the lobster was overcooked, but it had generous portions of seafood. The tostones were also good. The atmosphere is simple and clean and the service was good. The entertainment made it a special night. The guitar player was amazing, I would recommend you go to see him if you are looking for an entertaining meal. Stopped in San Juan on a cruise and had some time after an excursion. Asked a local police officer for a place and he recommended Triana. The guy should be a tour guide, what a great time. I just went this afternoon for lunch and had to write about it. The food was delicious, the attention was really good. The prices are extremely reasonable. The gazpacho...delicious....rice with shrimp and chorizo..exquisite. Rabbit was very tender. I went with my parents, an older couple, and the waiter was extremely nice, polite and very efficient. When it was time to leave I went to pick up the car, he stayed with my parents, walked them out to the car and helped them get into the it. Not the kind of service you see anywhere. I was very impressed. This is the third time I have been there and never been disappointed. To the restaurant owner....you have the best waiter in old San Juan. I am so sorry I didn't get his name. Excellent Paella and very good service. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. The Paella took (40 minutes, as it should). I am usually not a fan of Tostones, but the ones here were great. Overalla great meal. Too bad we were not there when the Flamenco show was scheduled. read more

Was a bit hesitant because it was in a tourist area and had a gimmicky feel with a flamenco dancer outside, but tried it and it was really really great food! So glad we went in! Three kind of food snobby adults all loved everything. Tried several kinds of tapas (traditional/local) and had kids with us and they were satisfied with beans and rice and pasta. We stopped by for a little happy hour snack and this place was wonderful. Rum punches and crab stuffed peppers were amazing!

The service was very good thanks to Hector our waiter and the show was amazing. But the food needs improvement by far. The tostones were hard and seemed to be from a bag of frozen not fresh. The ceviche was super dry and salty. I tried squezzing some lemons to clean off the salt but the lemons were dry as well. My husband ordered cocounut shirmp and only received 3 of 8, the rest were regular shrimp. Must improve please!!! read more

It was... bad. The show was good but the food was not up to par. Way too expensive. We got the mahi with capers and French fries. The French fries were just normal potatoes and the mahi was definitely not mahi, it was thin and overcooked. The calamari was good, but that's all that seemed worth eating. We also got the "cheese plate". It came with two cheeses and no crackers or bread. Very disappointing. I would not recommend unless you just want a drink and to watch the show. read more

The waiter "Marcello" made the visit to Triana incredible. The food was great too! I had the lobster and it was to die for. My other compadres had various other things. Nothing was terrible, but it can't be all stellar right? Great place to eat. Especially when it's not too busy. Didn't go there on a "flamenco" night. I'll have to do that next time. read more

I was looking for a place to grab a quick drink but got so much more. I can't speak for the food, but the sangria was delicious. They had a free show that featured a very experienced flamenco guitarist who was very engaging with unbelievable talent. The show also included two dancers who would occasionally come on stage in traditional Spanish dresses to dance. Also, they offer free salsa lessons in the basement almost every night. I rated 4 stars because I asked for the best rum at the bar and it was brought to me in a glass completely filled with ice. read more

We were in Old San Juan Saturday nite and it happened to be Halloween. We walked around a bit and we're ready to grab a bite to eat and relax and we came upon Trianas. We were invited in and next thing we knew we were seated at a table watching Flamenco dancers. We started with a delicious sangria. Marcello was our waiter and explained the Tapas menu. We chose mahi mahi Del horno. Delicious. We had Garlic mushrooms and rice too. They start off by bringing piping hot rolls and butter. Marcello was very attentive and we had a great evening. Great Surprise! Found this night spot while looking for live music. Absolutely fantastic traditional Spanish guitarist with a dance troupe. They had shows early in the evening with repeats about every 1 1/2 hours. There were no reservations needed for small groups and NO Cover Charge! The food was reasonably priced and very good. The show was a real step back in time to skill and tradition. The sangria was perfect. We stayed for the second show as there were no crowds. Don't miss this treat for the eyes, ears and tongue. It was easy on the wallet too! We sill definitely be back the next time we make it to the island. read more

Amazing food with great Entertainment. We went on a Wednesday night and was able to see the 8 o'clock show, which to me is a must see. We had Maricello as our server and he did an amazing job,very friendly. The food has more of a Spain culture so if you get tired of Puerto Rican food, you can take a little visit to Spain. read more

This place seemed nice we were actually going to sit down and order some drinks we were a party of five, As soon as we walked in I asked the guy in the front if my wife could use the bathroom and he hesitated , and gave me an apprehensive look . He was about to say "NO" but before he could I slipped a twenty dollar bill out and that changed the whole dynamic of the situation. He quickly responded " the bathroom is toward the back to the left. I like Puerto Rico wish I can say I love it .... But when you have to pay $20 to use the bath room in old San Juan , it makes perfect sense why the economy is shot here ..... read more

Dont recommend it. The paella is made with cheap rice ,they dont offer enough food quantity wise and the quality is poorly attributed. The staff is not as attentive than they should be. For example, I ordered another batch of bread for the table and they never brought it as if they didnt listen or care to what i had to say. The waiter tricked us in to ordering extra side dishes although we weren't informed they would be charged in our bill. Lastly, as I mentioned before the food wasn't very good plus it was very costly. I honestly hate that I have to give this place a one star.. I order the paella' triana' which consisted of dried up old seafood.. It came with 2 lobster tails that you needed a chain saw to cut through! $6.00 for a glass of sangria with a maraschino cherry give me a break! read more

We stumbled upon this place and were shocked at the amazing quality of food! We came back again during our short visit. The tapas are all very well seasoned. I just spent $136 dolars in this restaurant for 2 adults and one kid. About 50% of our food was left on the dishes- the taste was not to our liking. But we did not complaint. After we left, the waiter (a man well into his 40s- Manuel?) came after my family and I demanding a higher tip. Not only was the food below average, but also had a waiter hustle and demand what has always been discretionary. I do not recommend this place. read more
