Not able to get a haircut in California. I drove up from the Bay Area for a few days to relax. I was able to get in for a haircut. The shop is bright and very clean. They have you use hand sanitizer before entering. Mask are required and my hair dresser Monique was so amazing. She sat with me and talked to me about what I was looking for in a haircut. She took time to make a plan and was so lovely. She taped my mask on and it was easy for her to wash my hair. Everyone is social distancing. This place was able to get me in the very same day I contacted them in order to correct a bad hair mistake from another salon the day before. It was my first search of the day on Yelp and after reading the great reviews, how could I say no?! Within ten minutes after requesting an appointment via Yelp, I had an an email, a missed call, and a voicemail from the owner, Josie. I called them back ASAP to schedule and my search for a new place was over. I think I've finally found my local salon! Seriously this time. After far too many trial and errors, tears, TERRIBLE hair experiences, and Groupons gone bad, I cannot wait for my future at Tribe! Josie was extremely detailed with my fresh haircut and she kindly comped a color correction treatment she's certain might wash out within days. Yesterday was my second visit here. I saw Josie. I came here after a TERRIBLE color job at a different salon. I've been driving past Tribe for two years and thinking that it looked like a great place but was seeing a different hairdresser elsewhere The straw that broke the camel's back was a color/highlight that looked like a frickin headband from my former hairdresser. I went three days after to Tribe to see how they could help me. I swear it was fate and Josie had a cancellation that day and was able to take me! I had my hair done here and the service was excellent! My natural color is a level six, light brown / dark blonde, and I usually lift it a shade lighter for some extra blonde. Today, I needed my balayage retouched. With the fall coming, I wanted to get back to a warmer golden blonde color for my highlights. The color and blending on the balayage turned out perfectly. I recently started to see Kat for my normally hair trims and told her about a wedding I was attending in a week and to my surprise she told me she specializes in bridal updo-styling . She was able to get me in a couple of hours before the wedding and wow I was soo happy with the outcome . Not only did she work fast but my hair looked amazing all night even after dancing the whole night. All my photos that night looked amazing thanks to my hair staying where it was suppose to. Why have I never written a review for Tribe until now? Ross Robinson is the best!!! Before every haircut, even a trim, we take a look at how my hair currently is and discuss what my hair goals are. It's not always easy for me to describe what my hair needs/dreams are but Ross is patient and great at guiding the process. I'm currently growing out my hair- Ross does such a great job that the awkward growing stage was almost non-existent. I schedule my next appointment at the end of each session so I never have to worry about getting in. The online scheduling app he uses makes it easy to reschedule appointments if necessary. Everyone that I've encountered at the salon have been very nice- it's a good vibe and ambience there. It's not always like that at other salons I've been to. read more

She did a really great job guiding me through a conversation about my hair goals, and suggested a shorter cut with curtain bangs. I was beyond thrilled with the cut, I usually keep my hair long and just chop it all off once a year but Brooke's cut made me love my hair short! She also suggested some highlights and when I came back for my next appointment, it was a breeze and a wonderful experience and I was once again thrilled. Just moved here and needed a salon for a color correction. SO glad to have found Molly at Tribe Salon. She was so thorough and did an amazing job turning my dark brown hair TOTALLY blonde. It's a beautiful icy blonde and it feels good and I get so many compliments. I went back last week so she could put a strengthening treatment in to make my hair stronger and healthier. This is a long overdue review! I am so happy that I found Tribe. I was trying out a new salon near my home, and when I saw how great their reviews were, I had to give them a try! I booked an appointment via phone call, and the gentleman that answered was helpful and polite. I would suggest booking ahead of time, because they were about 3-4 weeks out at the time (which just shows how popular they are.) My appointment was with Maddie, who is the owner's daughter. She was super sweet and guided me through the whole coloring process. To be honest, I didn't know a lot about hair and couldn't even describe what I wanted, but Maddie was patient and helped me choose the right balayage that matched my complexion and style. She had no problem answering my many questions, and took the time to offer products that would make my color last longer. I was very pleased with the results! On top of that, the salon is gorgeous and has a nice clean aesthetic to it. I really enjoyed my time there, and I'm excited for my next appointment with Maddie. First off I would like to say Thank You Tribe Salon for scheduling me in for a last minute hair appointment. I tried several times and got rejected. But thankfully one of the amazing ladies who answered the phone and asked Kat the AMAZING gal who did my hair if she would do my hair on Sunday. Thankfully Kat said YES! When I went in on Sunday at 8, Kat was already there waiting. When I walked in the first impression I got is that it made me feel like I was at home. Kat then sat me down and asked what and how I would like my haircut. I told her what I wanted and she even suggested a little something different because I had very fine hair. Kat then took my to the hair wash station. Kat was gentle with my hair and when she was cutting it and what not she wasn't trying to pull and tug at my hair like a lot of the Salonist does. She is very funny and personable and she does care about the outcome of the hair. Although it may be a little pricey but with the amazing customer service you get it was well worth it. I would definitely go back and have Kat do my hair again. The outcome of my hair was every one of my friends and family love it asking where and who got it done for me. read more

After reading the reviews, I wanted to be impressed with this place, but in this case the expectation over exceeded the actual experience. It just didn't feel like a very welcoming place. I felt very uncomfortable being there. Small talk with customers seemed like a chore or a task they had to do but really didn't want to do. Just not positive vibes coming from this place! But what really got my gears grinding was the fact that I had scheduled and made an appointment to color and cut my hair after having quarantine hair for the last 6 months to find out mid-color that they had overbooked and wouldn't have time to do my actual haircut. THAT'S WHAT I CAME THERE FOR AS THE PRIMARY REASON...CUT MY HAIR! I was in desperate need of a haircut and I was borderline thinking about risking it and cutting my own hair before I had made the appointment. They then told me I had to make another appointment for my hair cut even though I literally took a vacation day from work to get this done. Believe me, I was ticked! I left this salon for the final time before moving. I expect the best and this is the only salon in the area that delivers. I am seriously thinking of flying back to Reno just to have Josie the Salon owner cut my hair. She is the only stylist to ever say no to my crazy ideas about my hair. Lisa was amazing, she was so nice and accommodating, just great overall! However my hair did not come out how I wanted it to. I asked for light brown lowlights and instead I got super dark hair with red/ brown highlights. Some parts of my hair are even the color of my roots (which i did not want), before starting I mentioned what I wanted again and how i didn't want my hair to be too dark, she assured it would look very similar to the picture i showed her but it looks nothing like it. I was afraid it would turn out this dark and it did. Now i have to pay again for someone else to fix it. I loved the environment of the salon, everyone was nice.
