Cutting a toddler's hair is no easy task, but Gabriel was incredibly patient, kind, and sweet throughout the entire process. He did a phenomenal job and gave my son a fantastic haircut. Afterward, Gabriel took the extra time to carefully remove all the hair from my son's clothes and even gave him a couple of lollipops, which was such a thoughtful touch. First time customer, and I am very happy & will be returning. Mike cut my hair - he was welcoming and professional from the beginning, and he did an excellent job on the cut itself. I typically do a 1 fade on the side, natural back, and scissors on the top, and Mike was able to handle that skillfully with no problem in about 20 minutes. He is easy-going and will make conversation at just the right level where you don't feel pressure to constantly come up with topics, but keeps you engaged and stays friendly. He even gave me a beer - which, I gladly accepted at 4:30pm on a Thursday. 1. The Haircut - excellent attention to detail, no uneven or missed spots - closely follows instructions and nothing was done without clarification/permission - very reasonable price ($23 as of this writing) - overall I am very happy with the quality of the cut 2. The Service - as mentioned, Mike was very professional, skilled at cutting hair, and patient with my requests - friendly and relaxed, with just the right level of conversation - beverages available for customers including beer, water, and soft drinks - TVs available if you prefer less conversation while getting your haircut - if they are busy you can put your name and number down and they'll call you when a spot opens up 3. Went in for a quick trim because I thought what person who called themselves a barber wouldn't be able to trim the sides and back. Turns out the younger kid at this barbershop couldn't. Cut the sideburns very unsymmetrical (one side way further out than the other) and to make things worse, he took a big gap out of the back of my hair when "trying" to do the side part. Unfortunately didn't have a great experience. The barber I had was rude and felt like he was being rushed. I showed a picture of the cut I wanted and it was nowhere close. I've been coming to Mike at Tribeca Barber Shop since July (every two weeks) after my old place closed down and I have to say it's the most pleasant experience at a barber shop I've had in my 13 years living in the city. Cutting hair is hit or miss, I was really happy after visiting the Tribeca Barber shop. The guy that cut my hair, Mike, was thorough and asked a lot of questions to get it right. As a guy, you would think it wouldn't be too difficult to get a good haircut but as I found out today, the blessing of my thick hair makes it actually very difficult. Great, local barber shop located in TriBeca between Greenwich & Hudson Streets. Gabriel and Alex are superb barbers and run a great business. I have been going for over three year with great experiences. Efficient, they will get you in-an-out, while still not rushing. I've been to several barber shops and saloons in the Tribeca area and so far this is been the best one. I go during my lunch break and Mike is quick and efficient and cuts it how I ask, this was my fifth time and will be returning. I also was recommended the 'lay right' hair product which I like a lot better than wax or gel since it doesn't flake. After your cut you can ask to try some of this product before buying, you'll probably end up picking one up. read more

I've been going to this place for a little over 3 months now because it's right next to my office and the barbers aren't bad. I usually get a fade on the sides and finger length on top, and you wouldn't believe the number of barbers in the city that are horrible at doing that. The barbers here are pretty competent and make sure the length is right so that you get the haircut you want (althought I would steer clear of the elderly woman). The prices JUST went up due to "operational costs," but I think they just hired another guy (potentially replacing the lady?) and I think I'll be going to him from now on. A regular hair cut is $14, and a "scissor" hair cut is $16. I'm not sure what a "scissor" hair cut constitutes since my hair cut required both the buzz and scissors and I was charged $14. The price use to be $12! Seriously can't beat it. During the week around 6-7pm it gets busy with people coming off work and wanting to grab a haircut, not sure how it is on the weekends since I usually get my haircut in anticipation of the weekend. This is more and more becoming my regular place and I would recommend it to any guy with short hair like me. read more

Had 2 haircuts here. 1 was great, the latest was terrible. He had headphones in and completed the haircut in about 4/5 minutes. Didnt even seem like he was looking at points and kept checking his watch. Wish I caught his name because like I said my first haircut here was great with a different person. The first three times I went to this place were great. The last two? Total seven minutes or less rushjobs a month apart (second time today 1/29/16.) The first time because someone wanted a haircut at a certain time, the second time because there were three or four guys waiting. Mike is the only guy in the four chair place because he is too cheap to hire a second barber and wants/needs all the haircuts cuz he's not making enough money. Besides that I ask for a taper cut both times and he gives me a fade and barely cuts the top both times - like I said a total rushjob and not worth the $20 plus tip. All he used was an electric razor with no alcohol I had to put on myself when I got home or shaving cream for the back and sides. He didn't even spray my hair with water. Plus he is barely friendly like he was the first three times, so he's obviously taking my patronage for granted when he should not be, and now he's lost my patronage. Bye! read more
