The food was not good. The drink we ordered, it was also very bad. We requested for an alternate option- but the manager was very rude and said nothing is possible to change it. We were served wrong side options and it took some time to correct everything. During serving also, the drink was spilled - although we were given 1/4th glass of same drink to compensate what was spilled!! Live near here and have visited at least 4-5 times in the past few years. Nothing has changed. First off, the place seems like it really needs a deep clean and probably a makeover. A quick vacuum and superficial clean has reached its expiration point. Plus the highschoolish kids that seat you seem to be put out when they have to work. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes they come back to refill drinks or things like that, sometimes not. They have changed their menu since our first visit which is a good thing. They offer something for everyone. The food is pretty good and I've heard the drinks are good, if you are seated in the bar area. Overall, this place has a prime location and potential. The owners either don't care or don't want to invest in making the restaurant a better place. Hope they see the light and give the place the TLC it deserves! read more

I made a reservation for 5 to eat on the terrace at 7:45pm in order to celebrate an early Father's Day dinner for my husband. I booked it on open book to eat on the Terrace for that time. When we got there. I was told that they could not accommodate us on the terrace because it was after 7:30. I told the young ladies at the front desk that was my specific request when I booked our reservation. I was told that the terrace was only reserved for big parties. They finally relented and allowed us to eat there despite telling us initially that we could not do so because it was too much to clean up after us and we were not a big enough party. When we got up there to be seated, there were two parties of four who were finishing up their meals. Don't quite understand the issue. Our server was not very attentive and took forever to bring out our drinks. He was very distracted because he was very busy catering to the other parties. Our appetizers finally came out and he hurried us to make our food orders. We barely got through our appetizers and then our main courses came out. I politely asked him to put the appetizers in a to go box because we hadn't finished them. After our meal, I asked for to go boxes for those who had not finished eating and to bring our appetizers that I asked him previously to package. He stated that he threw them out, despite the fact that everyone heard me tell him to save them. He returned with a new order of the apps that we had not eaten and threw a bag at me, for me to pack the other food we wanted to take home. He was extremely rude, inhospitable and had a bad attitude. I have overlooked this place and was lucky to stop in last Friday with a gf to catch up on life. Our original meeting place was packed and we like pub food. I will say this is a beautiful gem with a higher end atmosphere & menu offering than the typical pub grub we usually dig. As a non beer drinker, I appreciated the variety of wines available. As a self-proclaimed "mac n cheese hunter" I recommend the side of mac/cheese. I had the mountain salad to offset the fat. Everything from the patio seating to the service was really nice. This was ok. I probably will not venture out there again. I made reservations here for after my graduation because it was graduation weekend I knew that it would be busy so I expected to wait for food etc. We had a party of 10 so we had 4 appetizers to all share. The zucchini chips were awesome. The macaroni bites were not good and definitely a miss as they were not flavorful. I'm told the wings and calamari were good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food it came out in a couple of batches leaving my aunt as the only one without her food for a while. I ordered a burger well done. It was very much still pink in the inside so that left me the graduate with nothing to eat other than the few fries I ate off of the plate which were good. I didnt see anything else on the menu that I wanted and at that point I would have had to take my food to go because everyone one else had began to eat. I am big on customer service so I expect management to come apologize as they customarily do but that did not happen. The other thing that could have been done to be more customer friendly was to say congratulations. I had on my tam and cords and the server never even said congratulations. Small things like that make customers feel appreciated and make them want to return. My parents said their beverages had a chlorine dish water type taste so I'm not sure if they beverage lines need to be changed or not but that was another issue. Overall I give this place three stars because everyone seemed to enjoy their food and we had everything at the table: pasta, steak, ribs, salmon, etc. Two people did have the shrimp and grits which were either lacking grits or were really stiff so that may not be the best thing to order. read more

Went here with my family for a celebratory dinner. The staff was very friendly and met our needs down to the football game that was being showed. I ordered one of their beers (the blonde) because it was the special as well as the chicken burger. This combination was recommended on the menu and I would agree they go well together. Had a Great experience at Tribeca this weekend. I got the Burger with Blue cheese which was amazing and they had local drafts as part of their happy hour. We got the truffle fries as an appetizer and it came with 4-5 different sauces without even asking which gave us all something different to try and we all had our different favorites. We have been here several times and have traveled from Fayetteville to come eat here. BUT we came yesterday and it was not good. The food wasn't the same. It tasted like the cook didn't even care. I will say my Mac and cheese balls were good and our fries. That's it!! Our burger wasn't good, it tasted like mop water, if that makes sense. The tea wasn't sweet. Our waiter was not interested in us as customers. No manners, as far as checking to see if we needed anything extra. No personality at all. I hate to say that but it's true! Since Covid the customer service and the food quality has definitely gone down hill. I'm disappointed really. I hope things improve instead of continue to go down from here. Possibly one of the worst dinning experiences ever. Arrived on a quiet Saturday for an early dinner. Knew it wasn't going to go well when the online menu from the website didn't match the actual menu. Ended up ordering our sons meal first and then took a few minutes to decide what we wanted. Ended up ordering the short rib French dip and grilled shrimp wedge salad and a side of onion straws. The food took about average time to get out to us but what arrived was a big disappointment. The onion straws were stone cold and the shrimp in the salad were cooked 20 min before they were sent out to the table. The only thing that arrived that was hot was the chicken tenders for a 4 yr old and they were so hot he could not eat them. Called the server over and told her the onions straws and the shrimp were ice cold. She got the manager and she brought out what I could only imagine were another 1/4 portion of reheated onions (that had no seasoning on them) and a few minutes later 4 slightly warmer shrimp. Who does that? Leaves the original food on the table and brings out a fraction of the original portion? The short rib French dip was Luke warm and under seasoned but the au jus was very salty so it all balanced out I guess. Still very underwhelmed. We chose that place for the decent reviews but it makes me wonder. On top of the horrible food my wife has been sick as soon as we got home. You could not pay me to ever go to the Tribeca Tavern again. As someone who grew up in nyc and worked in TriBeCa for years, this place should have its name revoked!! read more

Tribeca Tavern needs to get on the ball. The place was packed but everything about the evening was a little off. - I had an overpriced matrini that was poured less than 2/3 of the way full. - I was served mediocre, cold, and soggy homemade potato chips with very little blue cheese. - The service was inconsistent and no one could get things done right on the first attempt. This includes the waitress, the food runners, and the general busboys. I will say that the burger eaten by my friend looked good, and I had some cheesy poofs that were okay. The green beans were good. The mac & cheese side was mushy, though. My biggest complaint? The "Hot Banana Crème Brûlée" came out ice cold. Almost frozen. I sent it back. The manager came out and said, "If we serve it warm, it's like scrambled eggs." I said, "That's fine, and I get Crème Brûlée, but the menu called it Hot Banana Crème Brûlée. This tastes like baby food and it's not even caramelized." She said, "The menu doesn't call it hot... and there is sugar on the bananas." Uhm, the manager is totally wrong about the menu. I've been to Tribeca a couple of times, more recently with a group of co-workers for dinner. We were seated in the side area, near the outdoor dining, so it was out of the way and somewhat private. The staff is always friendly, service is spot-on, drinks are top notch, and the food is wonderful! I ordered the veggie burger- not only was it ginormous, but it was impeccably flavored. Everyone in our group raved about their food, and their bevs from the bar, and had a box to take home so the price is great since you are technically getting two meals out of your entree. My only complaint is that our server, who I will say was on top of his game and had everything out on time and was great with taking care of us, was a bit too judgmental. When some of us ordered, he would make a comment about the food, like "why are you ordering that?" or "A veggie burger isn't a burger so I wouldn't get that". Another one of out dining patrons in the group, ordered a drink. The server suggested one and then when it came, made a comment about how there was a roofie in it. Yikes! He was good looking, and was probably trying to flirt with a table full of mostly women, but it didn't go over so well. I've visited Tribeca Tavern twice now while on business trips to the Research Triangle Park area. I really enjoyed it the first time, and my second visit confirmed that this place makes a great burger. The restaurant is decorated in warm wood and has lots of windows, which is nice when the sun's shining. There are flat screen tvs throughout the restaurant tuned to different sports games, but Tribeca Tavern definitely feels more like a restaurant than a sports bar. The Tribeca Tavern offers a fairly extensive draft beer list. What I love about it: It is mostly local brews. I love being able to sample the local products when I travel, and Tribeca Tavern makes it easy. The cost of a draft ranges from an unbelievable $3 to about $7 (at least, that I noticed). On both visits, my waiter was able to answer questions about the beer list easily and in detail. Although the Tribeca Tavern features a full menu with sandwiches, salads, and entrees, the burgers are the stars here. According to the waitstaff, the food is all locally sourced and the meat for the burgers is ground in-house. I have to confess, I did not peek into the kitchen to verify the presence of grinders, but the food tasted good enough that I believe the claim. While the specialty burgers describe the type of patty included, you can substitute beef, chicken, bison, or veggie burger in any one. (Bison was a small additional charge.) On both visits, we ordered the zucchini chips as an appetizer. The chips themselves are just ok, but they're served with an addictively delicious Cholula-n-lime sauce. I found myself surreptitiously wiping up the sauce remnants with my fork after the chips were gone. On my first visit, I enjoyed a "Really Mean Mexican" burger, topped with guacamole, salsa, cheddar, and fried jalapenos. I ordered the beef medium rare and it was cooked beautifully. This burger was super-delicious. It was hard to eat because it was enormous, but it's not a good burger if your jaw's not sore after eating it, right? The jalapenos and salsa added some significant spice to the burger. On my second visit, I opted for "The Bodacious Bison Melt." It was A-MAZ-ING. The medium rare bison patty had a delicious seasoning to it, and the toppings were perfect. The burger was served on marble rye and topped with mozzarella, caramelized onions, and Thousand Island dressing. Even though I was totally full, I couldn't stop eating the thing. It was dangerous to my health. I laid in bed later that night, uncomfortable, thinking, "I wish my burger were less delicious so I could have stopped eating it!" The other notable thing: I ordered the mac and cheese side, and was it ever worth the damage to my cholesterol. Totally delicious. Deeply cheesy, cooked to a golden crust on top and creamy inside, I ate every bite. Which probably did not help my comfort level after the meal! As my review hopefully suggests, we did not try dessert, even though the dessert menu had some tempting options. This is good because I would probably have required medical attention if I'd eaten any more food. A few negatives about Tribeca Tavern: None of us really liked the breading on the onion rings. The restaurant is large and spacious and we went long periods of time at the end of our meal without seeing any waitstaff (fortunately, we were just nursing our beers and didn't need anything). If Yelp offered 4.5 stars, I'd award the extra half star to Tribeca Tavern, as these are fairly minor drawbacks. I hope I take another trip to RTP so I can get myself another fabulous burger! read more

Blah. So incredibly mediocre. Nothing bad enough to send back, but nothing good enough to come back for either. Many reviewers mentioned they were slightly disappointed but would give it another shot. I felt the same way after my first visit, but unfortunately the second shot was not any better than the first. Burgers are pretty good (although not worth $14!!) and staff is very friendly. Those are the only good things I can come up with. Ambiance is strange. It feels upscale when you first walk in, but then you notice there are tvs everywhere. I guess tavern is what they're going for...which becomes even more evident when you receive all your crappy bar food. I got the ribeye, which the server assured me was worthy of being the most expensive item on the menu. It wasn't. Twice baked potato came in a cup with greasy cheese floating on top. Brussel sprouts had most likely been roasted in a massive batch early in the night and left under a warmer. They were almost good, but just not. Kids' pizza was only half eaten, kids' pasta was tried by two and rejected by both. Server apologized but didn't remove it from the bill. When we left, we walked past the chef on the sidewalk, smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer. Clearly, no one here cares to make this place what it could be. Burger list is amazing - and the price shows ($15 burger? Ouch!). Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night around 6:30ish. It was packed with a 30 min wait despite how huge the restaurant was. This resto is located in what I like to term "Suburbia Hell". Basically, it's a monolithic "strip mall" (used in the loosest context of the word) with many one-way, two-way lanes of traffic, completely packed parking lots, tons of SUVs, etc. It is everything that you would imagine for Cary. It took me 15 minutes to find a parking spot (and I even drove really far, not afraid of a walk). The restaurant is huge, their booths have individual TVs and you can get the manager to change the channel (it takes a couple of asks as they are busy). Their housemade black bean burger was delish, but I've had better bison burgers. Granted, the better bison burger I had came fresh from the North Carolina farm that raised the bison and was grilled by the rancher himself - but it was significantly better and all it had was a slice of American cheese & some basic condiments. I would personally not re-order the bison burger as I feel it doesn't fully encapsulate how delicious bison is. And we even ordered the North Carolina bison for a more even comparison. Sadly, I kinda felt guilty after the bison burger b/c it felt like I just had a regular beef burger. Bison is really good, it's way better than beef. I had bison ribs once at Revolution in Durham and it made me want to have my own bison ranch so I can eat bison 24/7. The restaurant itself had high ceilings, good lighting, and the tables are spaced enough apart that it doesn't feel suffocating even though the place is packed. We stop in occasionally because we have enjoyed other restaurants owned by the base company. Friday nights it's a busy service, but the staff works together and tries it's best. Waitresses have always been knowledgeable. For apps, love the zuccinni chips with spicy sauce, my wife loves the cheesy poofs and would love to drink the paired raspberry sauce as a shot if she could. The only improvement could be a cheese plate with all the local cheeses they offer for burgers. Burgers and pizza are delicious. Haven't had the desserts, never have room by the end. read more

Our good friends, Tripp and Jane (fellow Yelpers) told us about this burger mecca, so we had to meet up with them and give it a try. We don't frequent Apex that often, but after dining here and catching a glimpse of the area and other prospective great restaurants, we'll be back! We started off with the Cheesy Poofs. Don't let the name fool you! These are not cheese balls or whatever they gorge themselves with on South Park. Melty Brie, bacon and cashews in a puff pastry with raspberry sauce accompaniment...what's not to love? Delicious! They have a large menu and everything sounds good. I suggest taking a look at the Burger menu as well. Choose from regular ground beef (which also has steak ground into it), Bison, Veggie, Crab, etc burgers, then move onto your choice of cheeses (Brie, Feta, Habanero Cheddar, the list goes on). I built my own burger with the Habanero Cheese and fresh Avocado slices, but there are plenty of specialty burgers to choose from as well. My husband ordered the "Better Than Ted," which is a Bison burger with Bleu Cheese, Bacon, Roasted Peppers and Fried Avocado. Everything was awesome. Another interesting plus to eating here? Most of the menu items are obtained locally; From the meat and cheeses to the beer. I highly recommend giving them a try, You will not be disappointed. read more
