For mains, I ordered a Ribeye cooked medium / medium rare and my wife ordered the French Dip sandwich. The Steak: it was okay - nothing great, but not bad. Touch thin in my opinion. I'm surprised they managed to cook it medium with how thin it was. The outside had a really nice char. The Sandwich: again, just okay. I've had better other places. It was nice they toasted the inside of the bread, but they gave such little au jus to dip it into, it was empty by the first half of the sandwich. My husband and I came here for dinner. We love sitting at the bar, getting to know the bartender and watching sports on TV. Heard they had great burgers so we decided to check it out. Came in at about 730 on a Wednesday night and it looked like the place was closing. It was so brightly lit we looked around and thought-maybe it's last call? We asked the bartender and he said no, it always looks like this. the ambience could be so much better if they were just dim the lights! Throw a few candles around, make it a warm and cozy place! The restaurant was nearly empty, so the employees pushed some tables together and seated us right away. We started with the pickle chips and zucchini chips. The zucchini chips were over cooked and tasted burnt. The pickle chips on the other hand were cooked perfectly. They did not last long at the table. As an entree, I chose the NC Berry and Shrimp Salad. The salad was full of fresh ingredients and was accompanied by a flavorful vinaigrette. The shrimp unfortunately were over-seasoned and thus salty. Our server seemed new, however, he was friendly and attentive. We went here for some live music, food, and drinks. The nachos were amazing, for sure, and looked pretty, too. Loved all the different flavors. They had a huge drink collection and something for every taste. I liked that they had signature cocktails and that you could pick your liquor and mix it with add-on list of ingredients they put together. Friendly server, especially considering we moved twice due to the size of our party. As far as the music goes, I did not like that the setup was outside and with no heaters or heat source. Parking is a little tricky so plan on walking a bit by the time you find a spot and doing a few circles around the lot. Outdoor seating area is covered even if it rains so super nice for a summer dinner. Unfortunately some of the group was running late, but they had our table ready for us. It was clear that the restaurant was not used to hosting large parties. Firstly, they had one server assigned to this large party. Although he was doing the best he could, he was not equipped to deal with large parties at all. It was too much for him. Eventually another server came in to help out and she was great! She honestly should've been assigned our table in the first place. Now on to the important stuff...The food. The food was delicious! I would've given 3 stars due to the lack of prep for a large party, but the food gave them another star for sure. We had a great lunch date experience recently at Tribeca Tavern. Our server, Erin, provided excellent service and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Sriracha Honey Wings and the Wolfpack Burger (with a side of house made chips). The bartender was friendly and they feature a great bourbon selection that includes local, NC whiskies (amongst many, many others). The Old Fashioned was very well-balanced and the New York Whiskey Sour (topped with a splash of Malbec) was the perfect cocktail to cool off in this hot summer heat. My sister ordered the Wolfpack burger and she said it was killer! Cooked beautifully and the toppings complimented the other toppings so well! IT was spinach, red peppers, avocado and candied pecans. I believe she added some kind of cheese too. I ordered the mountain salad and it might be my favorite salad I've had in 2019. Very nice outdoor seating and it wasn't crowded when we dined outside. My sister and I went here for lunch on a Monday (Memorial Day). My Sweet Sriracha wings were good for the price. I would come back only for the wings. I also ordered the pimento cheese chicken and that was okay. I'm not a picky eater, so it was decent. For the Pimento to be homemade it was not amazing (as expected) but just decent. Would I order it again? No. The waitress was nice, professional accommodating and helpful. She was concerned and asked us how things were, sometimes a little to soon before we had a chance to taste things. I appreciate her checking in though. Our experience took a turn when my sister burger entree arrived with barbecue sauce on it and that wasn't even stated on the menu. In our family we don't send food back or ask for anything else when the food order is messed up. It really ruins your appetite when things aren't as appetizing as described on the menu. Service: The final straw was the side soup debacle of 2024, when a giant bowl came out we asked the server to confirm that it was a side soup, we were told it was just our lucky day! I checked in on Yelp and noticed the average 3.5 star rating and was surprised by it so I read through some of the less than stellar reviews. We went on a Saturday night around 5:30 and it was not even close to being packed. Given the upscale tavern vibe and large bar playing the college football games, I expected it to be more crowded (as it usually was). My son and I were both pretty hungry so we started out with the wings. We requested them extra crispy with the buffalo on the side (i find when wings get to saucy, they end up soggy). They came out perfect! Crisp, large and meaty -- 8 to an order. My son ordered the most expensive thing on the menu -- their 12 oz. aged ribeye. While it was cooked a perfect medium it was not marbled like a ribeye should be. It had large knots of fat throughout and on the outside. He can usually polish off a 16 oz. ribeye no problem, but this was too fatty. The mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetable (pleasant surprise - edamame) were very tasty. I ordered the newer (to me) Carolina Courage burger which was grilled perfectly - a blackened patty with 2 kinds of spicy cheese, peppered bacon and fried jalapeños. It was spicy but not too much so - definitely not overpowering as you might expect. I'd order it again. All in all - although the reviews suggest otherwise - it's still a consistently good place. Was one of our regular spots before the pandemic. We've tried a few times now since the pandemic hoping they'd figure it all out and have decent quality for take-out orders. Sadly, the quality has decreased, and the customer service was lacking. Avoid the balsamic chicken! Dry and couldn't cut it with a knife. No joke. The General Manager contacted me, and I explained that two entrees of our five were practically inedible, and the cup of spinach dip (one appetizer) was nearly empty upon arrival. I showed photos. I explained which parts of our large family's meal was unacceptable, and I was straight-forward about not wanting replacements or credit for all the other parts of our order, which weren't great but edible. You decide if this would satisfy your family and whether it's worth giving this place a try or your repeat patronage. We had a total bill well past $100. The total cost of these three issues was nearly $50. She sent us a gift card for $30. We may never return, but if we do, it won't be for take-out. We tried out this tavern based on reviews and after looking over a few online photos. I have to be honest here-the outside of the establishment has much more of a wow factor than the inside, and photos viewed online did not unfortunately reflect the expected experience. I would classify Tribeca as more of a basic restaurant than a tavern with its little TV's mounted on the walls in the individual booths and the multiple divided rooms throughout the establishment. It's not as spacious as online photos appear, nor does it have much of an open "tavern" feel, in my opinion. Now reading through another users review, I see he said he'd call it more of a "sports bar." I don't know if it's quite like a sports bar, but I wouldn't say it's a tavern. Also pretty disappointing-we were told by front staff when we went to Tribeca that the cool upstairs seating area was rented out by a "private party" and we couldn't sit up there. This was a big reason we went, because driving by this seating looked fun. Boo. As for the food, it was decent-but all of the dishes came out together noticeably oddly fast after ordering which made us question if it was newly made. I'm all for food coming out quick if I'm hungry, but it was weird. Overall, Tribeca was a pass for me. Their sweet potato waffle fries was an A+ it was crunchy and well seasoned, a unique flavor. The regular fries seem to have stayed in the oil too long and was a little soggy and not as crunchy. The veggies side for the steak was not so great, I suggest to ask for a substitution. The mash potato would have been great if it wasn't so buttery tasting. I wondered if it's just my taste preference but my coworker also tried it and had the same remark. I asked for a medium steak but it taste very well done. The seasoning was good, loved the seasoning.
