A third-party service I might add who you have chosen to do business with. As a small business owner myself, as you pointed out, I can assure you, I will never hire a person and allow them to work at my front desk who has the audacity to treat customers as rudely as your employee did. The largest offense here was the behavior of your employee and that is the one thing you have failed to address. There are solutions to the problems you were having - one is as simple as writing a note on your door, letting your customers know that you've chosen to close early that day. Another is refusing to do business with a third-party who is making matters worse rather than better for your business. But the most important thing here is having the care And attention that is required to not hire people capable of being so rude to your customers. Your employee did not make that offer of a pizza until we pointed out that he could have done something better to address the situation rather than giving mouth. But the point here is, we did not want pizza at that time. We wanted the night before when we were in a jam, and by that point, our trust in the food at your store was completely shattered. Because if a person makes a decision to hire someone that is so rude to customers, they may also make the decision to hire a cook who spits in your food.
