This is an update/reply to owner on 4/1: I think your reply to me here is making matters worse. You're refusing to take accountability for the fact that you hired an individual who is extremely obnoxious, mouthy, and disrespectful to a customer who is having a problem due to a combination of factors - one being that you closed early on a weekend night, and the other being that a third-party service is failing to do a good job. A third-party service I might add who you have chosen to do business with. As a small business owner myself, as you pointed out, I can assure you, I will never hire a person and allow them to work at my front desk who has the audacity to treat customers as rudely as your employee did. The largest offense here was the behavior of your employee and that is the one thing you have failed to address. There are solutions to the problems you were having - one is as simple as writing a note on your door, letting your customers know that you've chosen to close early that day. Another is refusing to do business with a third-party who is making matters worse rather than better for your business. But the most important thing here is having the care And attention that is required to not hire people capable of being so rude to your customers. Your employee did not make that offer of a pizza until we pointed out that he could have done something better to address the situation rather than giving mouth. But the point here is, we did not want pizza at that time. We wanted the night before when we were in a jam, and by that point, our trust in the food at your store was completely shattered. Because if a person makes a decision to hire someone that is so rude to customers, they may also make the decision to hire a cook who spits in your food. And anyone who fails to understand or address the unacceptable behavior of their employees when it is necessary is indeed a one star establishment. This is an update: A person from Pizza My Way called me a day after I posted my original 1-star review. She was friendly and helpful, and ultimately refunded the $40. I appreciated that. So I brought my review up to 3 stars. However, the situation was seriously unacceptable. Businesses have a responsibility to hire people who are going to treat customers with respect and who are capable of responding to problems created by decisions of the restaurant and their policies. This was a stressful experience and my wife and I walked away feeling very disrespected and initially $40 poorer with no pizza and no solution. The young person working for them has no business treating customers who pay a whopping $40 for a pizza that way- and his behavior being tolerated makes it impossible for me to give the restaurant another chance - so I cannot give an honest review of their food only their service. Maybe if someday I get a call that they have let said employee go they can regain my trust and I'll give them a try because their right up the street, and perhaps I can become a regular customer since I'm so close and they can get a higher rating from me. Originally posted 5/15: Worst pizza experience on the Monterey Peninsula by far. The place just randomly closes on a Saturday night well before their posted closing time. I order for pick up, spend over $40 for one large pizza which is absolutely crazy. I mean other people might think that's normal but I think that's crazy. That doesn't matter. I was in a jam and I had to get my kids some food and was not able to get back home and cook because of an emergency at work. In any case, I pay for the pizza online and then I called to confirm and there's no answer. I call multiple times. I show up to the store in person at around 8:35, 25 minutes before they are supposed to take their last order, and the whole place is dark. The next day, I am assured by the person I speak to on the phone that I will be refunded. Later on that day, I double checked to make sure that's true and it looks like they withdrawn the money from my bank account. So I called back and the person I speak to on the phone refuses to give me their name, they take absolutely no accountability for the situation, and offer absolutely no solution. So I spent $40 on pizza I never received, I was completely unable to get the attention of the manager, and my wife, and I both had to endure rudeness, extreme rudeness from their staff. When I walked in to restate my reasonable request to no avail, the person on staff was recording me on his phone. I don't get it. I'm the customer and I've already spent money and I still haven't received any product from them. It's nothing personal. When you're closing well before you posted hours on a weekend night, when you've got some cockamamie ordering system that you've built into your website, when you can't be accountable to your customers that spend money or even polite, you deserve the bad reputation that follows. read more

We walked in and ordered pizza here and went to Asilomar Beach to watch the sunset. Pizza was soooo good! It has a lot of toppings and was really tasty! Servoce was good considering they had a lot of orders for pick ups. There was ample parking in the front and the store is overall good! Highly recommend! read more

When I 'EAT IN' a restaurant, I always leave a very good tip. They deserve it. However, if I just go to pick up food and leave, I never leave a tip. I was a regular customer at Pizza My Way till I 'Busted' them for tipping themselves without my knowledge. Before they raised prices, a small Mediterranean pizza total price was $22.89. This total amount was without a tip. Please see attached 'Bank Statements'. Again, these are all for 'Pick Up' orders. I checked my bank statements and I found some discrepancies in payments. I also see $27.08 payments for exactly the same type of order. These 'Boys' were illegally tipping themselves close to five dollars... at least when they felt like being dishonest. Only recently, did I catch them in the act when I checked a receipt, but little did I know, that my Bank Statement would later show that dishonest cashiers or maybe same cashier had been dishonesty tipping himself on a consistent basus. Again, please see bank statements where he/they tipped themselves nearly $5.00 each time which brought up my my customary bill of $22.89 to $27.08. To all of you people that purchase pizza at Pizza My Way...please be warned and please request your receipts and verify all your purchases with your bank statements. Love you all. read more

This is the second time we've ordered from this establishment, and the order came sloppily put together. Our first time, we ordered a large cheesy bread, and it was sliced as a pizza would be sliced, not in rectangular strips...ok, it was a one off day. Today, we ordered 2 large pizzas with pepperoni on half of the pizza. ..it was on half of it, but, you can tell that the pie was baked, THEN, the pepperoni thrown on it afterwards(as if it was forgotten). My friend suggest this place when while we were up in Monterey. Small parking lot. The inside got some old Italian pizza place decor. Lots of tables inside. I got a whole pizza half combo/ half combo no veggies. Pizza is made to order took about 20 mins m. The toppings Fresh. Pizza was lacking a little flavor, I usually don't like adding grated Parmesan on pizza but this time, I had too. The pizza honestly tasted like round table pizza. Picked up pizzas here for our family/group dinner at Asilomar Hotel/Conference Grounds. A prime location right next to the Safeway/Trader Joes in PG - a very non-descript front entrance and seating area - the staff is super friendly and prompt, making sure we had all the plates/napkins and supplies we needed for our dinner. Pizzas were delicious and well made - the toppings were fresh and plentiful, and the sizes of the pies were great. Prices were a little bit on the higher side, but it's not too bad considering you're in the PG/Monterey area. Very limited parking out in front of the restaurant. Be careful pulling in/out as it leads right onto the main thoroughfare with relatively fast moving traffic. Would definitely recommend if you're trying to get some food for your group, going to the beach, or finding dinner plans in the area. Kid friendly! read more

We stopped to charge at Electrify America across the street after spending the day in Carmel and found this pizza spot nearby on Yelp so we ordered a medium pepperoni pizza and cheesy garlic bread. MY GOODNESS, the bread is sooo soft, yet perfectly toasted at the bottom! The marinara to cheese ratio was PERFECTION too. Not overly soggy with marinara and not horribly salty due to the cheese amount. To top it off (no pun intended), the pepperonis were deliciously crispy and salted. Like the name says- they will customize any pizza for you. The staff are very helpful, especially Melissa who even called me when I didn't come to pick up my pizza right away. Who does that? Uhhh No one except the fun friendly people on Forest Avenue. The pizza is delicious, fresh ingredients, and our favorite sausage and spinach with garlic white sauce has the sausage with lots of wonderful flavors. I am dairy free and they are super accommodating stating emphatically "it's no problem". I love hearing that when these days great customer service is a scarce commodity. My only regret is they closed the store on Fort Ord in Seaside so if I want some of the best take out pizza on the Monterey Peninsula I have to plan a little ahead and pick it up in Pacific Grove. This is my go to pizza place! Probably the only place that offers beef pepperoni, turkey ham and sausage! I do not eat pork and all their meat is pork free. Their pizza crust is super good crunchy and has good flavor. They load the pizzas with toppings and are pretty fast. The customer service is always great. At one time, this was one of the only places on the peninsula that did gluten free crust. I remember getting it years ago, just to try it and being surprised how good it was....... Now years later, I developed a gluten allergy, so this became my go to again. It's good, but average good, I'd go out of necessity. My typical go to places were not GF. It's very expensive for average pizza. I have since noticed a lot more places offer GF, taste better and cheaper. Their desserts are gluten free, which I love and appreciate!!! They are decent. But very, very grainy... I personally wouldn't order them again, but I think some in my family didn't think they were too bad. Lasagna was disappointing. The dough did not taste hand tossed as it was so dry and had roller marks underneath like it was a store bought. They were both dry and needed more sauce. Not a high quality feta.
