My rabbit loves the Timothy hay from here. You can get a large bag for $7 plus tax - so much cheaper than Petsmart and much higher quality. My rabbit goes nuts when I bring a new bag in, it is so fresh she can smell it across the house! I will continue to buy hay from here as long as I am in the area. read more

I come here for rabbit hay and pellets. You really can't beat the price, especially when comparing it to Petsmart or Petco. I buy a flake (I think half a bale?), for around 8 bucks. My bunny absolutely loves it, I can't even substitute store bought hay when I'm running low. I also buy Oxbow pellets, the really big bag, and it's cheaper than buying a few of the smaller bags and cheaper than the big bags they sell on Amazon. I love coming here to get hay for my bunny! I know for sure they have Timothy hay, Oat hay, and Orchard grass but they probably have alfalfa too. One flake is about $7-8 and come packaged in a clear plastic bag. The bags aren't labeled but if you need to ask the cashier any questions, they are always extremely helpful and kind. I can't say I've had the chance to browse the inside of the store, but it appears very clean and organized. read more

I come here for my guinea pig supplies. Giant packs of wood shavings and flakes of hay are very affordable here. The staff are super helpful and nice. The parking lot is small but there's always space. If your order is taking a few minutes to be brought out to the front, you can always admire the horses next door~ read more

Just recently found this place when we became the owners of 2 bunnies. They have a good selection of hay and it's sold in "flakes". They also have pellets for the bedding and are quite knowledgeable about a bunny's needs. As others have mentioned, if you're getting your hay from a pet store, stop. Get it here. I see that the only other review for Stephens' advocates shameless misuse of their products -- well, I'm going to do the same! I do not, sadly, have a horse, but we do have guinea pigs. Pet stores will sell you 8 oz. of stale timothy hay in a little plastic bag to feed your piggies; Stephens will sell you a flake of timothy for the same price -- a flake is a big honking portion of hay! It lasts us about three months. And it's nice and fresh, right off the bale (or whatever hay comes in). If you have guinea pigs or rabbits, this is the way to go. And the staff there is always super-friendly and helpful and will load your purchases in your trunk. I never get attitude for buying a $7 item instead of hundreds of dollars' worth of large animal equipment. They have a nice friendly store dog, too. read more

The lady they have working there has a very rude demeanor. Only reason I came by this place was based on YELP reviews. My son wanted baby chicks so I found this place based on good ratings. Walked in thinking because of where it's located that my business would actually be welcoming BUT boy was I wrong. When I inquired about baby chicks the lady told me "I can only show you them if your buying them!" Well, I drove 30 minutes to get to your establishment what makes you think I'm there to window shop on baby chicks? How can you tell a customer I can only service you if your only planning on paying? What if I didn't like the baby chickens? Lastly when I asked her how much they were she quoted me $ 5.99 and when she took me to the register to pay she charged me $7.99. I was so over this damn place and lady I payed and got the hell out. My son was so in love with his baby chicks I couldn't say no. The thing that killed me was when she said " minimum purchase of 3 baby chicks" ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? I only wanted 1 now I have 3. Because "baby chicks" have feelings all of a sudden. smh I will not and never buy anything from this place every again!!!!! Now theres " minimum " requirements of how many animals you must purchase? I buy hay from these folks, horse supplies and some bunny supplies. They have good prices on almost everything they sell, in comparison to their competitors. I guess the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because the store is set up like a supply place, it's not cozy to browse through for fun stuff. Mind you, they have fun stuff, like bridles, clothing sometimes, gift things, cards, but it's not really set up with that in mind. I like that they have dogs that stay in the shop too. They also do horse laundry, but I've never used them for that. They are good about deliveries and loading your car if you need help. read more

These guys are friendly, good about taking last minute orders, and have gone beyond the basics to give me great service. They are mainly Western focused, so if you need English gear look elsewhere. As other people have mentioned here, the blond middle aged woman that works there is rude and condescending to customer and other employees. I asked her if they had a specific product and she rolled her eyes at me as if I was bothering her. I went to get the product myself and returned to the register and placed it on the counter. She wouldn't acknowledge me so I asked her if I could pay for the merchandise. Still nothing. I finally just left the product there and walked out. So I was buying my stuff from WalMart. Timothy Hay for almost $10 a 45oz bag, and a 10oz bag of pellets for about the same price. Now I have quite few guinea pigs and it was becoming more and more expensive each day. I used to buy feed from DaMoors which is another great feed store down the block, but they don't sell, or at least they didn't sell, any of these products in big bags/packs. Doing some research and phone calls Stephens Hay & Grain was the only place who does sell Timothy by the bale and pellets for guinea pigs in bags of 50lbs. I bought one of each, stored in a shed and I have supplies for many many weeks to come, if not months. Thank you. Stephen's is my go-to place for rabbit food and hay for the two bunnies I adopted last year - though, admittedly, I've only been in a handful of times because their prices are SO INCREDIBLE one can literally stock up for many months worth of feed and timothy hay for less than $30. I went to Petco the week we brought them home and haven't been back since. Petco charges $7.99 for less that 2 lbs of timothy hay. At Stephen's you can get a 100 POUND BALE of the stuff for around $25.00! Big bags of alfalfa, oat and timothy pellets run about $3. Today I made the perfect mix of various pellets (with a treat bag of dried carrots, banana chips, peanuts, etc thrown in) - my total was $25 even and it'll last me around 4 months. The staff is always super friendly and know just as much about rabbit and guinea pig feed as they do about horses. PLUS you get to feel all "Ain't that America" loading the stuff into your car while real live horses and cowboys are coming and going at the adjacent stables. read more

I have been coming to SHG for a few years now for all of my chicken needs .... They have really upped their chicken supply game in the last few years and you can get so many great things here! Every time I go I am pleasantly surprised by the new assortment of products! They have small portions of oyster shell, scratch , various seeds etc for a very reasonable price and they sell hay by the flake! They started carrying my favorite organic feed Scratch & Peck a year or so ago .... They used to special order it for the few of us that wanted but now it is a staple ... They really try to satisfy their customers!!! They even started carrying day old chicks a few years ago (only in the spring) They are all really nice and helpful a very family neighborhood feel shop! First of all, this establishment is now called the TriKee Tack. I recently stepped foot in this store for the first time and it was the worst experience. First of all, the customer service delivered to the customer is horrible. I recently drove to this store in order to purchase some products for my horses, and since their health is top priority on my list, I always take the time to meticulously research what I will be purchasing for them. The day I went to the TriKee Tack, I wanted to make sure of the products I was buying which is why I made sure to ask a few questions about each product. The manner in which the woman (I believe she is the owner, Melissa) was referring to me was disgusting. She appeared to be confused and bothered by the questions I was asking in regard to their products. The attitude I was receiving from her was quite dismissive and discriminatory. There was a few instances when she walked away from me in order to address other customers and completely disregarded the fact that I needed some customer service. At this point, I am letting each and every family member and friend know not to shop at this establishment. The individuals running this store do not care about your pets the way you do. This store was in MUCH better condition and genuine customer service was delivered when this establishment was Stephens Hay and Grain. The now TriKee Tack will leave you with a sour taste in your mouth due to the low level of customer service delivered to the customer and the little care demonstrated toward your pets. If you care about your animals please do yourself and your animals a favor and do not support an establishment that will only provide you with a negative experience. If this place is good for misusing their products for non-equine then go for it. However, if you do have equine and you want to order hay STAY AWAY!! We've been using these guys for awhile now and lately they mess something up EVERY TIME! At least twice we've paid $15 extra to have them deliver on a Tuesday when I was home because I have 2 dogs that run loose on the property and i don't want them getting out. We asked them to call us first so I can put the dogs in ~ yet i go out and the hay is already delivered. The second time i even purposely locked the gate so they would have to call but apparently they just jumped the gate and let themselves in (hello trespassing!!). Every month we order just about the same thing yet one month, in spite of this and in spite of reading the order back correctly we got 1 bale of alfalfa instead of 4. This month was the last straw. We get 8 bales of orchard mix which is usually a 50/50 mix but this looks like there's almost no alfalfa in it. They claim it was a 70/30 mix but I'd say it was more like 98/2 mix. If they had bothered to inform me of this I would have adjusted my order and gotten more alfalfa and less mix and mixed it myself. Now i have to order extra alfalfa to make it through the month which will push the feed bill up for the month. These guys have officially lost our business!! read more
