If I could put heart eye emojis in my Yelp reviews, I would have definitely incorporated them just to fully express how much I love this business. I recently got a chinchilla and want him to eat quality hay and pellets since their diet is rather simple and limited to what they can eat. I was going to go to a local farm or something of that sort to get him his timothy hay but came across this place on Yelp and WOW. This little corner of Glendale made me feel like I was up north in Paso Robles! Local neighbors were riding their horses nearby and the entire atmosphere is a vibe you want to be a part of! Please support this establishment if you have any animal that grazes on grass or hay because it is truly a business I want to see more of. TriKee Tack has set the standard for what quality food for animals is and I look forward to stopping by often to pick up my little puff balls food! Thank you to the beautiful Tristina and the amazing staff here for being so welcoming and answering my questions about their products and even giving my baby an alfalfa cube to take home! We are both so happy. Pro-tip: If the store doesn't carry a specific item your pet needs, they can order it for you! I plan to place another order soon for Oxbow pellets so I know my money is going to a business that loves and respects animals unlike Petco and other large corporations that see our furry friends as $$ and not family. Thank you again TriKee Tack!! See you soon.

We came here to get hay for our bunnies and omg !!! Their hay is great quality, fresh and such a great deal! I wish I knew about them sooner because their prices are cheaper than anywhere else I've ever gotten hay from!

Had to get some food for my bunnies urgently and this place was the closest. Opening hour has been changed to 10am so I made small talk with my bunnies while waiting for the store to open. I got a 10 lb bag of alfalfa hay and a small (5 lb) bag of Oxbow young adult rabbit pellets. Overall, customer services, quality, and prices are decent, but I'll be getting my alfalfa going forward at my usual place in El Monte.

Great for Guinea Pig food! They have fresh Timothy hey and much cheaper than big box stores. They also have pellets.

This place is great for many if not all of my urban farming needs. I like their prices and the staff is always helpful.

A much more reasonable choice price wise in the horsey complex. They have most items. I always go here first.

Ask the Community - TriKee Tack

Do you sell timothy or oat hay preferably timothy hay? and if so how much money would it be per ounce or pounds?

Yes they do and the quality is amazing. Pricing is definitely great. I think it is about 8 dollars for a 10lb bag and they also have a huge box you can get. Just depends on how fast you go through the hay. But all their items are at a great price.

    Do they have baby ducks?

No. They only sell baby chicks when they have them.

How much are baby chicks? How much are cages and food for baby chicks?

Chicks can cost $3-$20 each depending on breed and other factors a 50 pound bag of chick starter is about $20 and chicks require a brooder ( a draft proof area with a heat source normally from a heat lamp those vary from homemade set ups to ones you… Read more

They sell timothy hay by the bale or by the "flake," which is a ~ 7# bag (which fit in our car, a corolla).

They have such a large variety of aquatic animals and reptiles! It really feels like a mini zoo when you come in here. There's a very small parking lot located out front but there's lots of street parking. Also lots of small businesses in the area to check out and support!

FYI I come here for aquarium needs. Pros: - accommodating staff. Requested a plant that didn't have a label and the employee asked her boss and they were able to sell it to be for a great price - great selection of reptiles (snakes, lizards, etc.) - one of the few places that consistently has springtails or isopods - I don't talk to people but every time I've shopped at the store there always seems to be a good conversation happening - prices seem standard, though I've compared and they often have slightly lower live aquatic animal/plant prices. Support local! Cons: -not the friendliest staff, I often don't get a "hello" at the register, let alone be told the total amount -There's been an unused, dirty fish tank wall as long as I can remember and it's just in the way and ugly (but i understand the struggles with hoarding) - they don't have a lot of aquarium plants and most plants do not have prices. -understaffed it seems, so be patient with them (waited about 30 mins to be helped cause there was only one person working the aquarium area) - bird cages look unhealthy The place needs to be cleaned up. The staff needs to have better work ethic. That being said. Scales N Tails has been my go to pet store since living in Burbank. I have conures, but I refuse to buy anything for my birds here. BUT I do also have paludariums and a pond and this shop has provided me with most of my live animals and plants. I have not had any issues with disease or mortality. Not the best, not the worst, but definitely one of my favorite places to shop!
