This is my favorite nail salon that I've ever gone to. It's clean, client-focused, and they do an excellent job for manis and pedis. I discovered this place when I was living in West New York, upon a recommendation from a friend. The very first thing they offered me was "wine, champagne, or tea?" Ummm yes. Just a week before my sister's wedding, the girls went out to get her pampered and Trillium was our first stop. I am so glad that I made the decision to go here because we all had such a wonderful experience. I made reservations for first thing in the morning and the staff were all ready and waiting. The place was beautifully decorated and they waited patiently as we were trying to figure out what we all wanted to get done. My sister went ahead to get waxed while the girls had their manicures done. I especially loved my nail technician, Kary (not sure of the spelling). She was very personable and definitely knew what she was doing. Our nails came out amazing and exactly what we wanted. My sister loved her first waxing experience and was also happy with her pedicure. Kary even took our pictures and they didn't mind us just hanging out while we waited for my sister to finish. I would have given this place 5 stars had it not been for the person that did my sister's manicure. Unfortunately I didn't get her name. She didn't seem to care for what my sister wanted and kept insisting on what she thought was best. The designs that my sister wanted were simple enough and if anything a lot more simple than mine but she kept giving her excuses, even when it came to French (saying her nails were "too short" even though it was longer than some of the girls that had theirs done with French manicure). She was even trying to charge her $20 more for EACH nail just for glitter . In the end my sister was disappointed with the way they came out. It was not worth what we paid for and definitely far off from the original design. Mind you, my sister was the bride so it was most important to make her experience the best one. So if the lady didn't know how to do designs on nails, maybe she should've just admitted it and asked someone else to do it in addition not try to rip off my sister. My friend and I went to this nail salon without an appointment on 9/5/2020. I had asked for a reg mani/pedi and my friend initially asked for a regular pedicure only. The pedicure was extremely mediocre, the technicians hardly scrubbed our soles, hardly massaged our feet and it was extremely rushed. Halfway through our pedicure the technician asked my friend if she wanted a manicure and my friend said sure, yes! But right after, they said they couldn't give her a manicure. They refused a service without an explanation. I understand if they were short staffed, but my friend didn't get an apology or an explanation for their response. I'm appalled at their behaviour and attitude. For a nail salon that charges outrageous prices for mediocre services, their customer service is beyond poor. At the end of our appointment, my friend did tell the front desk of how disappointing our experience was, and all she said in return was OK! I will avoid this salon at all costs. I docked a star because the pedicure s I've had have been the worst. The do a terrible job cleaning cuticles, and do not get the toenails clean and sparkly like other places I've been. My immediate impression of this nail salon was that it was very clean- I was the only customer (early afternoon on a weekday) and because it was slow I saw a lot of the employees cleaning which is great to see, made it more comfortable knowing the salon was clean. This is my first bad review of a business in a while but I had to. I recently moved back to the NY/NJ area from Atlanta and was seeking a great nail salon. I live in Staten Island but like shopping in the Edgewater NJ area and I have been looking to buy property there which is how I came upon Trillium Nails & Spa. My first experience there was good as I only got a pedicure and they are descent at that. But when I went back for a pedicure and tips with gel extensions on my second visit my nails feel apart in just one week. I mean literally all of the nails just peeled off. Please note that I paid $125 for the nail job alone. I brushed it off as a one off and go back a month later and I get another full set of gel nails. Very short because I type a lot. In just 3 days one nail peeled off and two were on the verge of falling off. I went back in and they fixed the one nail, then two days after the initial fix 3 nails feel off. I called and requested to have the nails completely done over and the owner said no they would only fix the ones that were a problem. I said well at least give me a different nail tech since this one clearly doesn't know what she's doing. I get there and it's Chris (Christina) waiting to do my nails the same nail tech you worked on me originally. She has nail clue on her table top and is about to use that to so call fix the nails (mind you when she did them originally she used nail glue under my nail beds and it hurt like hell). I told her to back away from the the nail glue and to not use that at all on my nails. As she worked on my nails she realized another 3 were bad and fixed them. Now here we are today one day after that episode and of the three left from the initial nail set another nail just peeled off while typing an email this morning. I will never go here again and I will make sure I voice to everyone I know in NJ and NY to stay away. Simply unbelievable. They charge way to much to be this crappy!!! read more

I've been here a couple of times because they keep the hygiene standards high and the staff is quite nice. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the quality of work they provide. On my last visit, I received a gel manicure that was truly badly executed. At the salon, I had to go back to the table three times for my manicurist to fix issues and when I got home I noticed all sorts of bubbles and uneven surfaces on my nails. To add salt to the injury, today, after only 5 days, my manicure chipped and if you have done gel before, you know it is supposed to last for at least two weeks or more. All this plus a mediocre pedicure cost me $85. I don't believe that I will be going back to this place. read more

The first time I went to Trillium I had a great experience. My manicure was fabulous, the lady took her time and could tell she really knew what she was doing. It was worth the higher price and the extra $ for the organic nail polish which really stays on longer. I went back last week for a mani/pedi and had a completely different result. This time a man did my nails and only a few hours later once the polish dried I could see how sloppy it was. I have three layers of polish all unevenly applied, thick and just messy, on both toes and hands. Overall it was not worth it and disappointing. I have UV Gel on my nails and have been looking for a place to get my nails done. I gave this place a try because it got such great reviews. I went on a week day in the late morning and there was plenty of parking. When I went in, the place was clean and smelled good, there were two televisions on mute and there was music playing. I had an appointment and was sen right away. I got a pedicure first which was a bit rushed for the place being so empty. When I sat down for my pedicure, I was shown a menu with a variety of drinks; I declined and was assured that they were complimentary (I found this to be a bit insulting) again, I declined. Then I got my nails done and this is were the pleasantries ended. I had UV Gel on my nails and needed them to be changed for a new set. The woman decided to use a cuticle cutter to PULL THEM OFF which was painful; I told her several times to use the machine, but she assured me, "It's the same thing." I have had UV Gel on my nails for years and I have NEVER had anyone use this method to remove them! A couple of my real nails broke as a result. Then, without asking, she started to cut my nails, "because they are too long". I told her it was fine because I was planning on cutting them anyway, but she should have asked first. During the manicure, she cut me TWICE; once with the filing machine and then with the nail file itself. In the end, I paid $135 for both services and still had to go home and fix my nails; they were filed unevenly and they had snags on the side of a couple of them. What was even worse was that in less than two weeks, I had two of the gels come off completely with a few others already peeling. However; in less than two weeks, I decided to go back and ask for a different technician. The pedicure was rushed again and rather rough. The Nail technician also cut me and seemed rushed although the place was empty and I had an appointment. I has been a week and I have had two nails break and five others are already peeling from the gel! I paid $97 because I was given a 20% discount on my first visit. The services provided were definitely not worth what I paid. I feel they are charging more for the location and ambiance than they are their services because the services were HORRIBLE! I will never go back and would not recommend this place to anyone. I gave them one star only because the place was clean otherwise, I would have given them none! read more

i've been to trillium twice and both times were special occasions. i wouldn't consider this spot my go-to (although my bestie is a regular) due to the price. i will say you get what you pay for. it's definitely "spa like". think: quiet, soft background music, offered coffee/tea/wine. if cleanliness is above quality for you, then yes, go here! it's very clean. gel nail polish was nothing spectacular and pedicure was fine. my sister has gotten a spa pedicure, thoroughly enjoyed it and regular nail polish from smith & cult. i would recommend for the OCD girl that just needs her nails painted. for the price, i would have expected my gel polish to last more than 10 days. read more

I booked a mani/pedi a week out with a specific manicurist for an upcoming trip. The day prior to my appointment they called to confirm. Great! Happy they confirmed. The morning of my service they call me to inform me my manicurist isn't working. Fine, it happens. Arrive at the salon and the entire time I felt beyond rushed even though the salon was slow. My relaxing time was the furthest thing from relaxing. My pedicure lasted all of 20 mins with polish and gel manicure tops 30 minutes. $75 dollars later (without a tip) I left feeling more stressed than I came in and with a lack luster mani/pedi. For the premium pricing I didn't feel like they put in any effort of doing a good job or making the experience relaxing. I would recommend them if you wanted a speedy service that was mediocre. If you want relaxing this is NOT the place to go. read more

I was treated extremely rudely by the receptionist, who felt the need to tell me when I paid that "the tip should be 20%". First of all, I had always tipped 20%. The place looks very nice inside. Its very modern and chic. The first person you meet is the receptionist who is very nice and helpful. However the first person who did my nails was horrible. She completely ruined the almond shape of my nails. She got so mad when I asked her to fix one of them and kept sighing and grabbing my hand. She was clearly talking about me with her colleagues. She is also a terrible at painting nails. She was very sloppy. I originally had a french manicure and the lines on the tips that she painted were very sloppy and uneven. She also used too much nail polish during each coat which added to the sloppiness. I accidentally messed up one of my nails and she of-course got furious that she had to fix it . She kept sighing and sucking her teeth. I told her "forget it don't fix it" but she insisted on fixing it. When I was leaving the receptionist asked if everything was okay and I said no and explained why and she looked at my nails. ( I really wish I took a picture of them) She offered me to get them redone by someone else and I accepted. The new person was more professional but still did not really do a good job. She made the shape a little better but her paint job was not good. She also used heavy coats and the top coat she painted was uneven. (See picture). For a place that charges $15 for a regular manicure I expect a much better job. Offering free beverages and the nice aesthetic of the place does not make up for it at all. Went here for the first time last week and found my new favorite spa! The decor is very nice and trendy. I enjoyed the music station that was playing, not your typical boring "soothing" spa background. The best thing was Trillium's cleanliness. The place and equipment was SPOTLESS! This place is absolutely amazing. The first time I had a regular mani and pedi here was earlier this year and it lasted longer than any mani pedi I have ever had before. They are detail oriented and care about the customer experience. They use high quality products and make sure that every device is extremely progressional. The salon has great energy which makes the experience even more relaxing and rejuvenating. My mum, grandmother and I ended up spending 4 hours here last night because we were having such a great time! Min does really good hair and gave me a beautiful cut. I tried the Shea Butter pedicure ($40), my manicure consisted of almond shaped tips with gel manicure. This place is extremely trendy and relaxed. They offer a complimentary drink (champagne, water, tea, coffee). Music is on point. I find myself Shazaming a lot. . To be honest that pedicure was no different than the standard. They have several others, but I'm not interested. I don't have feet that need callous help, etc. There is an extensive collection of nail/gel colors. Even some they charge more for. Always ask if you don't want to be surprised when paying. I do know to remove gel is $20, gel manicure is $40. Staff is very very nice. Teddy is very nice and does a good job with the gel mani.
