Her drink was perfect, served in an (antique?) jar. The bartenders were very friendly. And overall, the place had a cool, casual vibe.

Together with Kafe Lila, Machines With Magnets is forcing me to reconsider the city of Pawtucket,…read morewhich I had previously thought of as "the place where Slater Mill and the DMV are." Currently I think of Pawtucket as "the place where Slater Mill and the DMV and Kafe Lila and Machines With Magnets are," but if I spend enough time at KL and MWM, my view will undoubtedly become more nuanced. Machines With Magnets is a recording studio, art gallery, and performance space that has fast become my favorite music venue and possibly one of my favorite places in Rhode Island. The inside is beautiful, with two large rooms decked out in cool white paint and beautiful hardwood flooring (one floor is stenciled with an absolutely stunning pattern). Art of varied quality adorns the walls. I have now had the pleasure of attending two shows here--an electronic music performance and Quintron + Miss Pussycat--and I enjoyed them both. Watching bands perform with art as a backdrop is a pleasure. The sound is good and the venue is run fairly efficiently. At the latter show, they quickly cycled through four bands by alternating the rooms in which each band performed. Very smart. The crowds are fun and interesting. Drinks, Dunkin' Donuts coffee, and even pizza are sold for reasonable prices. During my first visit, a friend turned to me and said, "I wish I lived here." "I wish I could DJ here," I replied. Until either of these things happens, I'll be stopping in periodically for more music and art. You should, too.

You walk into the space & the first thing you see is a gauntlet with swinging "axes" that you need to run through without getting hit! I kinda wish everyone had to do it to gain access but it is one of the many fun games/adventures from Level99. The special menu was $25 for a pizza & 2 beverages. Upon recommendation of our delightful server Kobe, we opted for the Hot Mess: ezzo cupping pepperoni, piri-piri sauce, fresnos, queso fresco. Pizza is Detroit style & the edges were perfection, I could have used a bit more sauce but the piri-piri drizzle was fire. We both had a glass of wine. We were in the mood for a nightcap. I selected a coffee stout, Jolly Woodsman by Banded Brewing. Our server asked if I wanted a taste before ordering a glass, I was happy that I took him up on the offer - it wasn't my favorite. I was laughing with him that hubby & I are beer weirdos - we like the lightest & the darkest beers. He offered to bring me a taste of the Night Shift Brewing's Imperial stout, Dynasty. And along with that, he also brought the two lightest Night Shift Brewing beers. We loved all three of them! I would definitely go back for the pizza & the beer but the games are calling my name!

The service is great and so is the food. You got to try the Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza and the Garlic Parm Wings are top notch. This isn't a food court type eatery. It is a full service restaurant. Don't sleep on the Night Shift Kitchen.

Not the kind of place I really want to sit in and enjoy a cocktail. Dungeon like. The music is loud hip hop, not something I mind, but worth noting if thats not for you. I sat at the bar, and honestly didn't feel like it was super clean. I don't think the counter had been wiped down for a while. Staff were doing their best but seemed overwhelmed on a Saturday night. I was watching them make the cocktails and did not feel like it was very sanitary. They've got one small sink they're rinsing everything in, they were chucking stuff, literally chucking and slamming metal. They were dumping out people's drinks into the same side of the sink and then rinsing in the other side. But stuff was splashing into what should be the clean side. It's not a good setup for a cocktail bar. The cocktail menu had 8 drinks on it, 2 they were out of. Nothing had whiskey in it. I got a drink called Darjeeling something. Really didn't like it, didn't taste balanced and it looked different than someone else's who ordered the same thing, not sure if the bartender forgot an ingredient. The bartender also wasn't tasting the drinks which I usually see to ensure it was made correctly. This one had curry in it as a listed ingredient and it was just way too strong a flavor. It was a rum drink with some mezcal but it just tastes like mezcal and curry powder. The place was pretty busy but people were coming and going frequently. There's only one bathroom which really isn't enough for a bar. Seems like there's potential here but I didn't like the menu offerings and the sanitary concerns leave me with no desire to come back here.

Every bite had great balance and you can tell they really care about the ingredients. One thing that really stood out to me was the seating. The Frida booths in the corner are the most comfortable restaurant seats I've ever sat in in my life. I could have stayed there all night. The atmosphere overall is fantastic. The lighting is mellow, the music is at the perfect level where you can actually talk without shouting, and the bartender was well-stocked and clearly knows what they're doing. Another bonus is the view. Looking out across the street at the park lit up at night is gorgeous and really adds to the vibe of the place. The only downside is parking, which can be a little tricky depending on when you go. But honestly, once you're inside and the food hits the table, it's totally worth it. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to

We ordered one taco each (different flavors) and neither of us could even finish it, it was that bad. Additionally, I have a severe gluten allergy and they were making an accommodation to what I ordered (grilled fish instead of fried), but initially when they brought me my taco, it had been made with fried fish and I had to tell them so that they could re-make it. I'm glad that I noticed, but because of that, I would not consider them food allergy-friendly and wouldn't risk eating there again. That being said, the waitress admitted that they were understaffed, so it's possible that we may have had a better experience on a different night.

My friend and I sat at the bar since we were also there to watch a basketball game. They have tons of TVs all around the bar island and they're pretty big. He ordered honey sriracha wings and the blackened bacon + blue burger and upgraded to sweet potato fries for $1. They asked us about timing, whether we wanted the food in waves or all together; we kept it simple and requested everything all together. Since we were sharing, they cut the burger in half and plated them separately which was very convenient. The wings did deliver on sweetness but lacked the spicy portion. They were a bit dry, but they were crispy on the outside. The burger was a bit underwhelming in flavor, but cooked well with fresh toppings like lettuce and tomato. I think it could've had more of caramelized onions, blue cheese, and bacon to really get all the flavors to shine. The fries were great, sweet and soft but crispy. We enjoyed our time here. The service was good, and the prices were too. Lots of parking to choose from, and lots of businesses nearby to shop or get errands done.
