The awesome smell of an Italian market hits about 10 feet from the door. The wife and I go here alot to stock up on all sorts of stuff including bread, pizza shells/sauce, olive oil, gravy, lunch meat, pasta, WINE! At 3.99/btl, if it sucks, just toss it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Watch the prices, there are some products that you can get a supermarket for much cheaper. If you go on a saturday, go early, it fills up quick. read more

I began frequenting Trinacria a few weeks ago. At first I was a bit skeptical due to the location and the outside appearance, but once inside there was no doubt in my mind that I had found my new favorite sandwich place in Baltimore. So far I have had around 10 of the sandwiches offered on the menu and all of them have been nothing short of incredible, both in taste, and in satiety. I can destroy 2 subway footlongs in a meal, but a single Trinacria sub can hold me over for far longer for a very similar price. As for the frozen dinners, I have only had the meat lasagna (the 20$ version) which I ate at for about 1.5 meals a day and it lasted me around a week. The lasagna was delicious, still fresh, and bountiful with meat. Trinacria is a rare gem in the Baltimore area for price and quality and I will be a regular customer there as long as I am in Baltimore. The only problem I face with Trinacria is deciding which sandwich I will order. read more

This italian deli offers some of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The portions are enormous and the prices are beyond reasonable. $6 for a prosciutto sandwich loaded with prosciutto, fresh mozz, and delicious pesto on fresh focaccia bread. I wish DC had a comparable italian deli, so I could go more regularly. The only downside that others have noted is that Trincaria is located in not the nicest neighborhood. That in no way should deter you from trying this place if you have not already. read more

This place has truly incredible pizza. I got the Mediterranean pizza and thought I was in heaven. I highly recommend it. The sandwiches were good, though nothing truly special-- however I should be clear that I did not have any of the meat options, which my fellow diners were much more enthusiastic about. The place is currently BYOB and does not have the charm of the Paca establishment with the vats of wine and delicious italian delicacies surrounding you, but provides the same delicious food choices at reasonable prices. Went back - - this time I purchased a sandwich (veggie - not a vegetarian but I loved it) and I also walked out with a box full of bread/meats/pasta sauce/cheese/and other good stuff. I only wish the place was closer. Walking distance from my place but I am also tempted to drive just so i can walk away with more stuff. I first found Trinacria in 1984 with my parents after moving to the Eastern Shore. I go every 4 to 6 weeks, it's become one of my favorite places to buy Italian staples. If you are wondering if it's worth it, just check the prices. I don't think the price of sausage has changed in over 4 years. Its still cheaper than mKing my own, and it's really good. Need pasta? Try the loose bulk they have behind the counter. You won't want to buy another box from a grocery store again. If I lived closer, I'd be there every other day. read more

Having lived in Italy for years before coming to Baltimore we know this is the only place to buy authentic imported and home grown Italian-tasting groceries, cheeses, cured meats, preserves, and marinades. Their frozen meals, home made pastas and sauces are fresh, simple, and flavoured correctly; Trinacria is also a Deli with amazing mufoletta sandwiches. I am so glad this place is located within blocks of my work. First of all, the people that work there are fantastic. Always friendly, polite, and very helpful, even when it's extremely busy. They now are selling reusable bags for $1.69 and all proceeds are going to the SPCA. I love when local businesses give back to the community, especially to such a deserving cause. The food is amazing, especially for the price. They even have sandwhich and frequent buyer cards for discounts. We like to get the hot chocolate at the office. They used to sell Tommy's Naked Soda, which was awesome. I am sad that it hasnt been there in a while but I am ok with the Limonata Sanpellegrino. They also have delicious homemade breads that sell below typical grocery store prices. Their $4 wine selections are very decent. Lots of vegetarian choices as well. I was told they have been in business for over 100 years now, and it is evident why. If you don't try it at least once, you are missing out. read more

A friend introduced me to Trinacria during lunch and I'm glad she did! The smoked turkey panini is delicious. I put in the order and wandered around the store while they made it. There are tons of amazing foods to pick up there. They even make and sell their own frozen dishes for later. I got a Proscuitto sandwich, which was on herb foccacia bread with mozzerella and pesto. . .and about half a pound of tasty proscuitto. . .all for about 6 bucks. One of the 5 best sandwiches I've ever had, and for cheaper than Subway or Potbelly. I only went for lunch (but I will be back =), but the wine, olive oil, pastas, cheeses, herbs, sauces, cookies. . .all of em looked great and were actually cheaper than at the supermarket! Buyer Beware! Been a customer for 3 generations. They packaged a spoiled product (cheese) for $6.00 and would not credit us. This is after Thousands of dollars of business and one week after purchasing a $200 and $100 gift certificate. Never again. Terrible owner. No customer relationship whatsover. Trinicria is a tiny gem in the middle of Baltimore just two blocks from the Lexington Market. (Don't let the outside fool you) Once you step inside, you will know you are in a real deli!! I don't know where to start - the bread just keeps coming out of the kitchen - when you buy it, 9 times out of 10 it is still hot. I like the olive bread best. Trinicria's sandwiches are really good, large, and reasonably priced. I like their rosemary ham - quite tasty. The pasta is imported, so you can buy all sorts. I didn't know there could be a difference in pastas, but when you try pasta from Trinicria, you'll k now what I mean. I also LOVE their canned pasta sauce. So far I have tried Marinara and Fra Diabolo (Hot sauce). It is awesome! I don't know of anyone who can make sauce as good as you can buy here. Trinicria also sells wine!! Good wine at a great price. You can get some good "deck" wines for about $8 - $10 a bottle. If you go for lunch, go early, and if you go on a Saturday morning, go early.
