This place is so good, we went twice in one trip. The first time we popped in around lunch. They seem pretty busy most days, but the line was never very long. The hubs got a BLT that had smoked salmon in it. This thing was amazing!!!!!!! So good. I got a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce. This was pretty good, but not as good as the BLTS. I also had a quinoa corn salad that was also super tasty. The second time, we came in for breakfast. They had pancakes, so my husband wanted to have those... He said they were really good, especially with the homemade blackberry jam that they have at the tables. I had the everything bagel and lox - I don't think they had this on the menu, but I figured they probably had it, so I asked. They basically give it to you and you assemble - They give you the lox, bagel, cream cheese, capers, onions, and wedge of lime. They're smoked salmon is super good. Loved this. The lentil bowl is to die for! Figurative speaking; it is a blend of flavor and light warmth. I love Trinks. Most everything is reliable food wise. That's a medium sign for flavor; good enough. The service is great. But when your ordering if you want sugar or cream for your coffee, jam, butter or a spoon to stir or eat with, ask right away. These the things are not available anywhere away from the counter. Coffee is disappointing if your from any big city, we order triple shots because it's weak and a medium blend. I drink tea when I'm here and that's reliable. Love the place. Sometimes it's a little better than others but I give it an B+ overall. read more

Trinks is a delightful spot on the Mendocino coast that sells amazing pastries: pies, cookies, cakes, you name it :D The Flying Goat coffee is cream of the crop, you can't beat the view, and the salads, sandwiches, and other lunch items are always on point. This was super cool, and one of those place you love running into while on vacation. We're just driving up the coast, enjoying the spectacular views and scenic beauty, when we come across this cute little place in this cute little town. The location is very nice, and I immediately like this place from the moment we walked in. I ordered a half Tuna Melt with a cup of lentil soup, and my wife ordered a half Blackened Chicken sandwich. All of these items were so good, and so unique, it was just refreshing to have a nice lunch in such a great setting. The service there was excellent, as the girls behind the counter were friendly and helpful. We sat on the porch, which makes you feel like you are sitting outside, but protected behind the glass walls and warmed with the space heaters. Nice touch. I don't know if or when we will find ourselves back in Gualala, but if we do, Trinks will certainly be on the list of places to go! We ate a late lunch at Trinks a week ago Thursday. The place is a little self-consciously young, free-spirited & healthy, but still friendly & fun. I had Mom's turkey sandwich & coffee. My wife had the kid's grilled cheese sandwich. We split an order of fries. Really enjoyable lunch. It took a while to make, but tasted delicious. Mom's turkey sandwich is all the best parts of turkey dinner, the grilled cheese was crunchy/gooey. The fries were deliciously crispy, & too much for 2 of us...we finished them anyway. Amazing place, this was our second time there, once pre-covid and then yesterday. We had the burger and the open-faced fried chicken sandwich. Both were extremely delicious. Fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and full of flavor! Burger was also juicy, and also delicious. Also, loved the outdoor seating, with such a beautiful view! Trinks had a foodie reputation 7-8 years ago when we moved up here. Expensive but good food. We usually eat at home now since we both care about cooking. A lunch at Trinks today had very poorly prepared food. A medium rare burger that seemed almost raw in the middle. The cheese not even melted. French fries so greasy I considered putting them directly into my truck's tank instead of diesel. My wife's fries were no better. Her mushroom burger (no meat, big portobello) was ordered with the sauce on the side. Instead some other sauce was also provided on the side. The potato bun fell apart under the weight of all the sauce. At tourist prices--even free--definitely not worth it. It all seemed like short-order cooking, not reputation-driven cuisine cooked with skill. read more

The outdoor seating overlooks a beautiful view of the ocean. The customized veggie scramble was delicious. The reason I'm not giving a better review is because the iced oat milk latte was so terrible I nicely asked them to re-make it and still threw it out. They need to use a better brand of oat milk, and the barista needs to shake up the oat milk container before pouring. Also, it's possible the espresso itself was part of the problem. We were excited to try this eatery based on the great reviews. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The fries that came with it were so limp and greasy I couldn't even eat them. The chicken was also greasy but the bread and the slaw on the sandwich was very good. My husband just had yogurt with granola so it was okay. Place is overpriced but had a great view. read more

Delicious food that was shared by 4 of us. They are only open for dinner on Wednesday nights, FYI! We ordered 1 of everything on the menu. Our favorite was the shrimp dish and the hummus w/fry bread. Mmmmmm! Our least favorite was the smoked salmon. They helped us celebrate our friend's birthday and the service was amazing. Delightful cafe with great view of the ocean. During the time we visited, this is one of the few places to that has both great food, great service and great views. The salmon flatbread that comes with eggs & avacado was oh so awesome. Didn't think so much of the mushroom flatbread though. Too much onions and greasy for me. Egg sandwich was yum too. read more

I was driving on hwy 1 going south from Manchester Park and starving. My friend and I wanted to eat in Point Arena but it was a Sunday and apparently a ghost time since nothing is opened so we decided to drive a little further and discovered this hidden gem in the of Gualala. I just really wanted a cup of coffee, which they delivery in light or dark roast for a very reasonable price. Since we were there, everything looked so good that we decided to just order food and dine in. I ended up getting the lamb burger with a salad and it was damn good. Two lamb patties with arugula and some other combination of sauces as well as a very nice dressing. My friend got the seafood and chips. The fries were amazing, but the fried seafood was dipped in batter that was a little too salty. The shrimp itself was good, but you could tell the cod was recently frozen. When you bite into it, it's not completely hot and dripping liquid. But once you eat it with their house made tartar sauce, all is forgiven. That sauce is phenomenal. Great service, decent prices, pet friendly, and all with a wonderful view. Highly recommend everyone to make a pit stop here. read more

What a great spot. The outdoor lawn and seating has a gorgeous view of the ocean, and it's kid and dog friendly. The food was fresh- I had the lentil / egg dish and my partner had a salad. The fries were soggy even though we requested crispy. I even sent them back, and they were still soggy- I imagine that their drier is not hot enough. I'd go back for their green smoothie. Came here for breakfast on a trip to Gualala. They are serving up some massive breakfasts and have excellent cookies as well. We ordered the big boy breakfast and the chorizo flatbread. The big boy breakfast comes with two eggs, two slices of bacon, a mound of home fries, and toast. Everything was good, standard breakfast fare. The potatoes were slightly spicy, which I liked. This breakfast kept me full for hours. My husband had the chorizo flatbread, which was a housemade pita covered with chorizo, sour cream, avocado, and pickled onions. This was also huge and really delicious. It had a good balance of spicy, fatty, creamy, and tangy. We got some cookies to go. I really liked the lemon cookie. There's an outdoor patio that has some good views of the water behind glass windows for protection from the wind. read more

SETTING: Along highway 1 in the main part of town where there is a cluster of local businesses and small plazas. Easy parking, right by the water. Indoor and outdoor seating. FOOD: Swung by during brunch time. Got the smoked salmon flatbread and chocolate pecan scone. Both were wonderful. The flatbread was packed with eggs, fresh avacado, capers, salmon, onions. Very filling! The scone is not very sweet however still very tasty. Seems like the kitchen is not heavy handed with the salt and sugar, which to me is great because the flavors of the food are on display and not hidden by seasoning. SERVICE: Order up front and you are given a number to place on the table you choose. Food will be brought out to you. Self serve with water, utensils. IMPRESSIONS: Why did I thoroughly enjoy Trinks? Had a great brunch here with family and friends. The pancakes were perfectly fluffy, one of the best we've ever had. The cheeseburger and fried chicken sandwiches were huge and delicious, but the fries were soft and not at all crunchy. The Italian salad was so flavorful, one of the best I've ever had. We also tried the passion fruit tart and the gluten-free lemon crinkle cookies, they both hit the spot. Our only complaint was the wait time on the food, 20-25 minutes, definitely worth the wait but don't show up starving. read more

First off this place is counter service only. You wait in a long line to order your food and hope there is a table available. They give you a number and someone brings you your food, but no one comes to check on you or bring you refills. You must clear your own table, scrape your own plates and place them in a bin. Which is fine, except for the fact that they ask you when you place your order how much you want to add for a tip 15, 20, or 25%! Ridiculous, tip for what, they didn't do anything. Now about the food. Extremely expensive. Everything here is, it's a tourist trap. I ordered the Chicken Pesto sandwich $14. It comes with nothing. No chips, no fries, no nothing. Flavor was good, cheese was melted, (that's a plus) but the olive oil ran all over the place, and the chicken was terrible. It was chopped up into large chunks so that every time you took a bite the chunks squished out the back of the sandwich. This is a sandwich that needed 1 solid piece of chicken. In addition my sandwich was filled with chicken fat and gristle. I was very disappointed because of the high reviews. read more
