    Pulled pork sandwich combo
    Chris K.

We stopped here after a hike and figured this place would be amazing when we saw it was a tiny spot on the side of the road. And we were right! This definitely wasn't a chain restaurant! We got the pulled pork sandwich in a combo and were amazed with the portion. This was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I had ever had! And the cornbread cupcake things included were incredible. The staff were very friendly and I was impressed with how they handled the amount of people ordering from this little building. The outdoor seating was nice and there were quite a few tables. Overall this is an easy 5/5 stars!

Smoky sampler, 2 extra sauces orders (4 cups), side of potato salad and 2 corn muffins

Food: 5/5 If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would. This was better than the BBQ in Austin Texas I waited an hour for, and this only took 5-10 minutes per order. We got the smoky sampler, side of potato salad, 2 corn muffins, and 2 additional sauces (crown sauce and hot & spicy). A must-try is the ribs, I haven't licked a bone clean that quick in a while. Crown sauce is a sweet sauce while the spicy sauce is perfect for when you want an extra kick, but not an aggressive kick. Sides were great, and my potato salad expectations are higher than ever after that meal. Corn muffins have a little sugar sprinkled on top. Service: 5/5 the only issue is that this place is not open 7 days a week, just Fri-Sun. Server was kind and the other employees that walked by the table asked how we were doing multiple times. Ambiance: this is a food truck with outdoor seating, which is about 8 picnic tables all with umbrellas.

Food is great! It smells so good and the service is very nice, and nice people. We were very full.

    1/2 chicken combo

Stopped in around 1pm for lunch on a Saturday. There was a line of about 15 people when we arrived but it was moving at a steady pace. I waited about 10 minutes in line to order and another 10 minutes for our food to be ready. Triple crown BBQ definitely lives up to its glowing reviews! For $15 I got the 1/2 chicken combo meal that fed me for two days. The chicken was a big portion & delicious. The baked beans tasted like Smokey apple cider which I loved. And the potato salad was standard. My friend got the pulled pork sandwich combo for $18 which includes 2 sides and a drink, he was very satisfied with his meal. Although it was only 1pm they were already sold out of their corn muffins, I'll have to come back to try them! Seating is all outside, with limited parking on the premises. They do a great job at wiping down dirty tables quickly and emptying the trash bins. Everyone working was very nice and this location is dog friendly! Definitely stop by if you're in the area and hungry for some good BBQ!

Outdoor restaurant, allowed dogs. The employees were very helpful telling about their menu since it was our first time there. The food was soo good and the sauces too! I would recommend getting the sampler platter. The pulled pork was cooked nicely and not dry at all. Would go back!

Wow, small gem with amazing smoke barbecue food in Luray VA. The smokiness of the meat is so good, the meat is tender and falls of the bones. The sides are delicious ; good prices a lot meat with impressive sauce. The sausage, was so good had to get it twice. Definitely RECOMMEND to s

Found this place during me and my boyfriends visit to Shenandoah. This place was realllllyyyy good. As out of towners, we weren't sure what to expect and couldn't decide what to order, so we ordered the sampler. Unfortunately, they were out of the chicken and so we had to substitute for sausage. Personally, we weren't big fans of the sausage, could have been cooked a little longer. It didn't really have that smokey taste we were hoping for.The ribs, pulled pork, and tri-tip were top-tier. The sides we chose were really good too. They were out of the baked beans too, sadly. Overall, yes it's a food truck, but a very good one. The service was quick and the employees were very kind. If I ever visit Shenandoah again I would come back for more.

It was delicious with some onions and what tasted like bacon fat on it. The kiddos got items from the kids' menu - a simple pasta and a small pizza. There was a special while we visited (Oktoberfest, I think) that had some fantastic German items, including a killer schnitzel with sour red cabbage and mashed potatoes. It was fantastic. I got a couple of the on-tap beers and enjoyed them much. There is a respectable cocktail menu (any of them can be made mocktail if you want). One thing I appreciated very much was how family-friendly the place is. Our waitress saw Child #3 starting to melt down and brought him over some toys to play with, commenting that she had kids of her own. Indeed, in the corner, there is a whole table full of toys for kids to play with. Even the bathroom has a full changing table setup, which is way better than those wall changing tables. Overall, a great experience.

It was extremely hot and humid that day, and we have a baby, so we opted for an indoor restaurant with air conditioning. I came across Ollie Cat Cafe in a Google search. The online menu seemed to offer something for both of us to eat so we decided to give it a try. The parking was adequate and was a short walk from the car to the front door, which was helpful since I was carrying my baby in her car seat. When we walked in, the restaurant was about half full of patrons eating their meals. The staff was buzzing about as well. While we were standing by the front door, still holding my baby in her car seat, a staff member made eye contact with us and said "that looks heavy! I'll be with you in just a moment." She never came back to seat us. A second staff member looked at us and proceeded to keep working. While we were waiting and watching the room, a customer approached her and asked for their bill because they had been waiting so long. The waitress frantically said yes, and then walked over to the bar to get drinks for a different table. The drink station was next to where we were still standing. The same staff member proceeded to complain to my husband and I about how hectic it was and how they couldn't keep up to the point where she started bad-mouthing her own team. (The restaurant was only half full). She then directed a younger staff member at the drink station to seat us. He never even looked our way. After 15 minutes of watching the chaos, my husband, baby, and I left and went to Blue's Dog Bowl instead - where the food and staff were outstanding! So I'm sorry that I couldn't write a more thorough review of Ollie Cat Cafe, but until their staff learn how to wait tables and operate efficiently, this restaurant is going to suffer.

If you're planning to come during peak dinner hours, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation because it started filling up quickly. We had spent the day hiking, so we were dressed much more casually than many of the other diners. The restaurant has a more upscale feel, but no one made us feel out of place. The staff was welcoming, seated us immediately, and made us feel comfortable from the start. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and the cocktails were well made. The food was the real highlight. The burgers were cooked perfectly, the beef tasted fresh and flavorful, and the garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. We also really enjoyed the soup of the day and the hummus of the day. The only thing that didn't completely wow us was the steak. It certainly wasn't bad but we just happen to be very particular when it comes to steak. Overall, this was an excellent meal with great service in a welcoming atmosphere. Lunch: I ordered their meatloaf special - which comes with two sides. I chose mashed potatoes and corn. The food came out in about 10 minutes. The meatloaf was tasty - however, only the ends of it were hot. The center of the meatloaf was actually cold. The corn was terrible. It was chewy - I have no idea how you get corn to that texture. The masked potatoes were basic - but at least well executed and they were hot. No gravy was served with the mashed potatoes. I was in a bit of a hurry - so I did not ask them to "re-heat" the remaining center of meatloaf - and the corn was not redeemable. Breakfast: I went with their sausage gravy over a biscuit, eggs, breakfast potatoes and bacon, plus coffee. Everything was delicious - except for the breakfast potatoes. They were bland and at room temperature. I don't know how the potatoes were actually prepared - but texture-wise they tasted like someone had cut potatoes into cubes, boiled them, and then set them on a plate. The potatoes desperately needed some char/crispiness added to them, as well as some seasoning. I had wolfed down all of my breakfast - except for the potatoes - when my server came by to check on me. She asked how things were - and I relayed that everything was good - except for the potatoes. She offered to take the potatoes back and have the kitchen heat them up and add some char/crispiness to them. I declined - as at that point I was full. The successful components of my breakfast dragged up my overall rating to 3. I probably would have gone as high as 4 stars if the potatoes were better. The Men's restroom needs to be renovated and cleaned. Service was good - not sure if I would come back here after two substandard food-quality experiences. #BrooksideRestaurant
