This is one of those spots...no thrills, but you see a long line waiting for whatever is being dished out, and you just know that the food is going to be fire. Just look at the faces of everyone else in line with you, and you'll immediately see the quality of food that Triple Crown has been delivering to the community. I know I've mentioned the line twice now, but with that said, it moves pretty quickly and they have a QR code to scan a menu or you can view it as you're waiting at the order counter. They have a nice selection of barbecue meats: from pulled pork, to smoked chicken, to ribs to tri-tip. They have their own selection of sauces as well which they help pair for you. I found it really hard to make up my mind on what to order but I heard the grill master mention something to the guy in front of me about needing to get the tri-tip sandwich so that's the route I went; along with trying their sausage. Everything that I had was delicious. Even their sides hold their own ground. For the town of Luray this is definitely a stand out spot whether you're a local or a visitor, you have to cross this off the list. There is outdoor seating, so if you couldn't wait to eat it until you got home, you shouldn't have a problem. We'd been camping for 3 days so any food someone else prepared was going to be perfect. We found Triple Crown and decided to give it a try...we weren't disappointed. We both ordered the pulled pork and 2 sides, with a side order of corn muffins. The pork sandwich was heavy with filling with the Crown Sauce to top it off. The sides: beans, slaw, and potato salad were all really good. The beans were a bit sweet for me, I prefer more smokiness in the flavor. Family run, hidden gem BBQ. We came here after visiting the Luray Caverns, about a three minute drive down the road, and it was incredible! They take credit cards and cash. The family that runs the station is very sweet and the bbq food is the best I've ever had! Ribs fell right off the bone. Smokey meat sampler, side of potato salad, Cole slaw, and sauces. The meat fell right off the ribs and the pulled pork is to die for. I am not a bi fan of potato salad but their homemade p.s. was incredibly delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. First of all the owners are the nicest people you could ever meet and know BBQ! The Pulled pork BBQ was absolute perfection! The right amount of smoke, tender and juicy deliciousness. We chose Baked Beans, Potato Salad and Coleslaw for our sides and they were all on point and the best compliment to the BBQ. Everyone complimented the baked beans! I am picky about coleslaw and this did not disappoint. FYI the potato salad made an excellent midnight snack! Lastly but certainly not least the corn muffins!!! Pure Heaven! What a gem in Luray! I'm getting hungry all over just reminiscing about our meal here. Tripe Crown is just a minute away from Luray Caverns. The set up is super cute, and I loved the many flower pots decorating the perimeter of the BBQ truck. They are also pet friendly and our puppy was able to enjoy the outdoor dining experience with us. I got the smoked sausage with 1/4 lb of pulled pork and side of coleslaw and corn bread. The smoke on that sausage was just scrumptious - I can still smell the smoke under my nose. The bite on the casing and the juiciness of the sausage all worked wonderfully to make each bite special. The pulled pork was very juicy and tender. Can't miss the corn bread - so light and airy. Being roadside and no visible kitchen or smoker, we have been hesitant to try. Order the sampler and was a little underwhelmed by the amount of meat. The flavor of all the meats was wonderful. The house sauce, Crown Sauce was a good mix of vinegar and flavor. Not to spicy like many Carolina sauce, choosing spice over flavor. The Sweet Sauce was just right. Solid BBQ! Originally was a little disappointed that they didn't have brisket or beef rib, but what they did have on the menu was executed perfectly. All their meats had the perfect amount of smoke with out being acrid. Tri tip is served cold but perfectly tender. Pulled pork was also tender but had a good bight with no mushiness. read more

Apparently the place to eat in Luray, VA involves a food truck!! We had a great impromptu lunch today, for $20! Portion sizes were plentiful and fresh off the grill. The smoked chicken was juicy and grilled with yummy sauce, definitely a littttttle undercooked so that may be a concern for people who need to consume well done products. The sides were very tasty too! We loved the potato salad, baked beans, and the DILL PICKLES! My boyfriend enjoyed his smoked sausage with coleslaw and pulled pork on top...for an extra $2 you really get a loaded DAWG. The coleslaw was probably one of the best I've had. The sausage was again a tad undercooked. Drinks are limited and not freshly prepared (lemonade is Minute Maid), but my half cut iced tea hit the spot. The hubs is a bbq man and I was happy to stop. Holy HOG HEAVEN!! That pulled pork sandwich was awesome! Found this hidden gem online via Yelp. My husband and I were visiting the area for a hike in Shenandoah National Park and to see Luray Caverns last weekend. This place does NOT disappoint! We showed up just before 11:30 on a Sunday and were the first customers to arrive. A gentleman, who I assume is the owner or manager, was just finishing getting set up. He welcomed us warmly and we were ordering right when they opened. My husband and I decided to split the combo platter, which was MORE than enough to feed two hungry people. Upon leaving the same gentleman thanked us for the business and invited us to visit again! We live in Alexandria and had a wonderful weekend in this area, which ended with this amazing bbq spot! The pulled pork was perfectly done - slightly smoky, succulent, not fatty, and they even figured out a way to include the crust that was crispy and not hard. You have your choices of sauces if you want but I enjoyed just the flavor of the pork itself. Even the bun was tasty. It was a warm Virginia day and we sat outside at covered picnic tables with bluegrass music playing in the background. The owner stopped by the tables and talked to customers.
