It's like a new house! We moved in to our home 27 years ago. After about 6 years, our vintage 1971 furnace finally died. We replaced it with a modern high-efficiency gas furnace and life seemed pretty good. The new furnace brought the house up to temp in the blink of an eye. Of course then it would cool off and another blast of hot air would warm things up again. We'd had that system 'tuned' by HVAC specialists several times but the house was always either too hot or too cold. Almost to the day that the warranty expired, that furnace too died. We shopped around quite a bit before replacing the furnace a second time. Triton was the fifth company that we spoke with. They were the only guys who started by telling us the last furnace was too big and was causing the 'short cycling'. They gave us a proposal the next day and they were great on price, had the shortest lead time and gave us a simple plan to make changes to bring the house current. I'll start with the good: When I called, my call went straight to Christian and he arranged to come out the very next day to take a look at my malfunctioning heater. He arrived to the appointment promptly (actually, like 20 minutes early). And there was no charge for him to come out and try to figure out what was wrong. He quickly determined the problem was with the electronic ignition unit. Now for the bad: I never received the promised quote for repairing my heater. I didn't think much of it for the first week, since he came out a few days before Thanksgiving. I figured he probably took a couple of days off. When the next week passed, I started calling him. Then I realized why it was a bad thing that my first call went straight to Christian: he apparently has no office support. I called several times and got no answer and he did not return the voicemail message I left him. With all the positive Yelp reviews for this company, I suspect it has become overextended and cannot keep up with all of its business. read more

Absolutely first-rate! Christian Bedom (Triton Group) installed a complete system for my daughter's 1,100 sq ft house, including all ductwork and registers, for $4,200. No-one else quoted under $6,500 He also installed a furnace for one of my clients (I'm a real estate broker). I don't know what the cost was, but they are real happy about the job. He just installed a replacement furnace for me. This is a very high-quality Carrier 95% furnace, and the total cost (including installation) was $2,100. By far the cheapest quote (out of three), and the work was done perfectly. My old furnace quit on Friday, and fortunately he had an opening on Monday. He and his assistant Victor were in and out in around six hours, and we had heat again. The heat is more even and comfortable than it used to be, but I guess that is because it is a higher-quality furnace (the old one was a 22 year old 80% furnace). His first availability was on 12/22/14 and I didn't really want to wait this long, but I figure, what the heck! I am a licensed real estate broker and work with MANY contractors from many trades. I had a project to rehab a 100 yo building in downtown San Jose (duplex) that was in pretty bad shape. The old furnace was original and vents had dust, rats, and who knows what else in them. Over the years the vents were adjusted (mostly wrong). I had 1/2 dozen quotes from both large shops and independents on craigslist and was surprised how much difference there was from competitor to competitor. I contacted Christian from his website and gave detail of how many vents, how many furnaces and general description of project (pretty much rip out two entire heating/venting systems) and install two new high-efficiency furnaces, install all new ducts and vents, and move furnances and rerun gas lines for furnaces and for other appliances. He sent me a "written" proposal including a picture of the building, detailed description of what as included and even provded two options. His prices were the most competitive and with name brand appliances. I scheduled meeting to inspect property (expecting the upsale) but instead he actually worked out an even better deal for me since there was so much work. Triton was GREAT! I needed a new HVAC system, furnace and AC unit, the whole package; and they took care of everything from the beginning to the end. He was fair, trustworthy, honest, and took the extra time to make sure it was done right. This is not an area where you want any errors. Every job is slightly different and they made sure everything was perfect for the inspection to get the tax credits and everything passed with flying colors. I contacted maybe 6 or 7 different companies, much larger companies, so you can image their overhead, therefore, their quotes were all much higher. You might get an email response in 2 days, but for me it wasn't urgent and worked out fine. Out of all the other HVAC companies I contacted Christian proposal was accurate and he would replace my furnace with a american company Carrier and not some cheap chinese company that the other HVAC guys wanted to install. I discovered Triton Group after I researched for a duct cleaning company to clean the duct's of my uncle's 70-year-old house which have never been cleaned. Previously, my uncle had answered a robocall for California Duct Cleaning, (800) 242-4926, Santa Clara or San Jose for a $40 duct clean. CDC's technician Rami arrived and he wanted to upsell my uncle for deep vent cleaning for $45 per vent and $150 per cold air returns. My uncle has 8 vents and 2 cold air returns. My uncle paid Rami the $40 just to get the high pressure salesperson/tech out of the house even though no cleaning was permitted. I went to the Triton Group's website, tritong.com, requested a quote for duct cleaning for 8 vents and 2 cold air returns. Christian, owner, called me with a very reasonable quote. Christian and his assistant arrived at my uncle's house and the cleaned all the vents and cold air returns within two hours. Triton did not damage my uncle's walls as did Rami when Rami tried to open one of the cold air return vents. Chris did not have to go up into the attic as Rami wanted to do. Christian & crew are the best! We have already been using Triton the last few years for our air duct cleaning. Triton was the perfect company to go with when our office AC unit broke. The job would require a crane to remove the old AC & replace it with the new one on top of a 2 story building on a busy street. I called a few companies to get a few price quotes. Most did not return my phone calls or wanted to charge alot for the quote. Finally, paid $65 to get another quote (Triton did not charge us for the evaluation). The 2nd quote was about $1000 more & provided less warranty for parts & labor. Triton was easy and flexible with scheduling. My husband actually found Triton, and I just went along with the program and trusted that he would find a good company to install our central heating and air. I'm writing this review, because I feel like it's important for you all to know that this is a really good company and a very professional team. To start - they are very meticulous about making sure they keep their work area clean and tidy (for me that's a huge plus). They clean while they are working, and do an extra vacuum cleaning job when they are finished for the day. They went as far as laying down protective paper on their walkway on the floor in my house, and also made a plastic wall/barrier to separate their work area from our household furniture while working in the attic. When they were done for the day it's like you wouldn't even know they were here. Now about the AC and Heating.....we love it!!!!! Everything passed inspections. He gave me estimates for several options, of which is was the best quote compared to others.. Based on previous Yelp reviews, I chose to go with him. He moved my furnace form the gather floor to the attic and re-routed the return plenum to the correct location. He was in and out in a day like he quoted!.
