The quality hasn't changed in all these years. This visit I ordered Bart's Bag, which consists of a healthy portion of roasted turkey, brie, lettuce, tomato and red onion, all on a housemade baguette. Super yummy! Service was super fast and friendly, at all levels: ordering, delivering food to my table, even when requesting a to-go container for the half of the sandwich I couldn't finish. Good food and good service, even when during the busy lunch rush? Yup. You know I'll be back!

It's not going to be the best you ever had in your life, and if you've been to Southern China, you're not going to be blown away. HOWEVER, it is the homemade taste that makes it good. It doesn't feel like any other restaurant, it feels like you are at somebody's house. Here's the thing, I came in expecting the usual Chinese food affair, but I left genuinely surprised and impressed. This restaurants specializes in Southern Chinese food, which is different from other regions. I am so happy this restaurant and its chains helps the cuisine gain exposure and adds depth to Chinese food in general. Even better, the menu is laid out in a way that it is easy to understand: gluten-free options, allergies, and spice level. The service was great. All though it isn't a "full" sit-down restaurant, everybody there seemed to know the menu well and was happy to be there. As a Cantonese person, it was nice hearing my language being spoken in the kitchen. The restaurant itself was immaculately clean and very modern. We came during early dinner time so the parking lot was near empty and easy to park. Overall, if you've never had Southern Chinese food or are looking for something more authentic than classic Chinese takeaway, definitely check out this location. I would probably like it better if the venue was less crowded. This is not a reflection of being at capacity, but one of arranging tables in such a way that lends itself to being elbowed in the back by patrons at the adjacent table if they are even slightly intoxicated. I've been here at least 100 times and usually get the exact same thing: a plain Jane on white with turkey, mayo, provolone, avocado, and lettuce with kettle chips as the side. I also get a cannoli when they still have some. The food is always amazing! It is single-handedly the best bread and sandwich I've had anywhere and I get it every time I visit Tucson now that I've moved. The bread is so good that buy a large loaf and take it home with me to make sandwiches with. The people who work here are super sweet and friendly. They work quickly even when they're completely packed. I've never once had a problem with my order being incorrect or how I've been treated there. It has only ever been a positive experience. The restaurant itself is lovely. There is a good amount of seating but sometimes you do have to troll for a seat when it's really busy. The space is clean and easy to move around. The bathrooms are also clean and are kept well-stocked. The parking in the shopping center is difficult but that's because both Beyond Bread and Bookmans share the parking lot so there are just a lot of people there in general. I love this place and I hope you do too. If you haven't been, you just don't know you love it yet.
