We know this place is mostly Latin dishes but we just wanted some casual diner food so we both got cheeseburgers and fries. The service was actually really great and accommodating and it was a decent burger but flat and dry. The fries were good. I also got a sangria which was really refreshing - def recommend! This place has old school Miami feels to it -- and we're from NY so it's all about local flavor and good homemade feeling. If the burger was juicier I'd give it a better rating. read more

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish. The food was very average at best and definitely didn't live up to expectations. Unfortunately, the service was even worse. Our waiter had a poor attitude throughout the meal. When we politely asked for something we needed, he rolled his eyes and acted as though we were inconveniencing him. It made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, an item was brought to our table that no one had ordered. When we questioned it, instead of acknowledging there may have been a mistake, the waiter insisted that we had ordered it and still added it to our bill. That was frustrating and completely unprofessional. A 20% gratuity was automatically added to the check. If a restaurant is going to include a mandatory gratuity, customers should at least receive friendly, attentive service. Instead, as we reviewed our bill, the waiter stood over us watching, which felt uncomfortable and unnecessary, as though he was waiting to see what we were going to do rather than giving us a moment to review the charges in private. Between the subpar food, poor customer service, being charged for something we didn't order, and the overall uncomfortable experience, this restaurant simply wasn't worth it. We ate here on Sunday. I ordered the bistec sandwich. It was bland. My wife had the ropa vieja which was okay. And my friends had the cubano and the club sandwich. They had no complaints. For dessert we had the flan and tres leches, which were outstanding. The service was slow considering the volume that was in the restaurant. It was either this or subway. Hidden local Cuban Café across from our hotel at Miami Beach. Love the local ambience. The service is amazing and the best part is the large portions of food. They have everything from fried and bananas to local Cortadito coffee and daily specials. We ate there both days in town from the beef, chicken and ham and cheese empanadas with local fresh squeezed orange juice and bacon cheeseburger with fries and the pork pernil. read more

A cuban restaurant with a traditional menu and the best coffee in the area. There's a Starbucks half a block from this location and people don't know what they are missing. I just didn't like how I was NOT greeted compared to the next couple of people that came in but besides that I ordered to go the lady that took my order was nice. This place was great for afternoon lunch. I'd passed it many times while visit Miami Beach & finally decided to grab some food on my last day. Great decision! Service was friendly, I ate outside since it was a nice day. I ordered lechón asado with congrí & tostones. First, so much food! I was able to have leftovers for dinner. Everything was delicious. The lechón was seasoned so well & the tostones the right amount of crispy. I also got a cafe con leche to go. Delicious. This restaurant charges a 15% tip for TAKEOUT. When I politely asked about the reasoning behind this, the cashier falsely stated that this is customary in Miami Beach. I live here and this isn't true. When I specified that tips are for table side service, he told me in an arrogant tone that our CONVERSATION WAS A SERVICE. Needless to say, I canceled my order and left. This restaurant needs to educate its staff on how the service industry works, and how to talk to customers. I have lived in this this mid beach neighborhood on and off for 15 years now. TBC used to be a gem among the other offerings in 1st floor of the building on 29th st. However, like a lot of restaurants in the Great Decline of '25, it is no more. They have down sided, minimized and ingredient cheapened their portions so much that they no longer offer any value. The other evening I went there and ordered their steak sandwich at 7:00 PM on a Friday. The clientele was sparse in which during prior times would have been a full house. The steak sandwich arrived and it turned out to consist of mostly bread, lettuce and tomato. The after thought and poor excuse of the steak was a paper thin sheet not even covering the size of the bread; that looked like it had been ironed with a 50 pound iron and then hammered with a kitchen mallet for good effect. All of the above with french fries included for $14.99. If you are a hungry tourist and need a place to eat ASAP, this would work as long as you mute your expectations and prepare to be ripped off. I've been coming here for years and they are always great! Went today for a pleasant surprise as they just renovated and expanded their space and is much larger and modern! They have TV's displaying menus and music videos and the decor is modern! Food is great still as usual and the staff here are always nice and attentive. Horrible and disrespectful customer service. I placed an order for a hamburger which took 45 minutes. To then find out it was at the counter and they simply didn't communicate. On top of that the cashier who told me to sit down decides to argue with me and tell me it's my fault for sitting down to which I reply is common courtesy in customer service to let me know. This is a fantastic restaurant to check out if you're in the area. They have a lot of food on the menu to pick from, and it all sounds good. I tried the Cuban original and my friend, for whatever reason, got a cheeseburger. Both came with fries and we both enjoyed our dishes. Not only that, but their prices are reasonable unlike some of these other places not worth mentioning. Another thing that caught my attention was the customer service. The staff working at this restaurant we're great. Our waitress was awesome and a complete blast to converse with. Also, they have some delicious juices. I tried the Blackberry and it was perfectly refreshing for a hot (winter) day. So yes, if you are in the area, I would highly recommend giving it a shot. I wouldn't recommend, I got over charged and then had to pay using a separate transaction to get my order . So I paid 3x for a plate of watery paella . The manager came to assist the cashier to issue a refund and didn't say one word to me to acknowledge the large inconvenience she was very rude I won't return .
